PERIKLIS STAVROS HATZOPOULOS @periklis_art

My name is Periklis Stavros Hatzopoulos and I am a student in the school of Visual and Applied Arts in the Aristotle university of Thessaloniki. My goal on the paintings above is to depict a side of nature that at first sight is not a common thing to see. The main idea was to take some known nature clues such as flowers, trees or leafs and combine them with surealistic elements that rarely can you find them just by walking into a forest. Valuable mineral rocks, ocean plants or corals are some of them. As a result of this combination , you tend to see a mix that easily can be described as a fairytale mystery world with a familiar yet unfamiliar feel. I was influenced by my concern of protecting the earth as much as possible and in order to spread this message to the world I decided to paint something that shows a unique beauty of our planet. A beauty that involves all those little treasures that exist beneath our feet.

KONSTANTINA TSOLAKIDOU @tortoiseee.shelle

I am Konstantina Tsolakidou, a 20 year old self-taught artist from Thessaloniki, Greece. I study theatre at AUTH, piano and latin dance. I have always loved drawing, but I got more involved into it, during the first covid quarantine in 2020, under the name Tortoise Shelle. As a new artist, I like to learn new techniques, and to experiment with multiple media and technological methods. This is why most of my artworks are a blend of mixed media and digital art. I believe that art enables us to see the world from a different angle, empowering us to change it into a more beautiful one. You are welcome to enjoy my art and meet the world through my eyes.

HEDVIG KOVÁCS @hedvigkovacs

I am a Hungarian visual artist based in London. I have studied at the University of the Arts London and graduated with a BA (Hons) in Film and Television, and I am currently working as a production designer and set dresser. I have been painting with acrylics for a few years now and I am trying to convey my own thoughts and experiences through my paintings.

RONCH @ronch1985

The main feature of my work is the meticulous attention to detail in microcosms crowded and dense with situations, through a miniaturist approach, supported by the use of a magnifying glass to define every square inch of the painting. Urban contexts are dismembered in a dream-like swarm of architecture, forms and social relations are disrupted, provocatively juxtaposed with no apparent order. Childhood memories and paranoid nightmares are recomposed with graphite or color on canvas and paper, often through pareidolia, returning a duel between the freedom of the absurd and arbitrariness of the rule.

ALEX KYPRIS @alexkyprisart

As an adult, I am still perplexed by the wrongdoings in our society while the lack of justice and apathy puzzle me. Disappointed with the consequences of human activity and social inaction, I strive to express emotions of anger and frustration. Through my art I point the finger at the culprits of our social struggle as I believe it’s important for the viewer not to sanctify them, or fall into apathy. My work highlights the similarities and differences between members of the same society. Adopting themes such as homelessness, mass immigration, the Church, religion, and the environment, I aim for the viewer to empathize with the main subject or contemplate the consequences of their apathy and inaction.

ARIARINA @aria_a_rina

Ariarina is an illustrator that realized her need to create at a young age. She finds inspiration in the abstract things in everyday life, folklore stories and visuals, pastel colors, clean lines, and the people that surround her. Her work is composed with shapes, figures and lines that reflect the simplicity and beauty of human spirit, celestial objects, plants and nature and concepts of thought. Her work can be seen in a variety of different platforms. Mainly through traditional mediums like Oils, Acrylics, watercolor, as well as a few different mediums, such as pottery and ceramic art. Digital printable wall art is also an essential medium, always integral to the creative process. She has a strong love for painting, birds, folklore, nordic and minimal decoration.

CORINNE PAGDAGDAGANATHANASSIADES cqpagdagdagan@gmail.com

Upon moving to Greece, reacquainted with her paintbrush and in bold strokes portrayed the joys and struggles of motherhood on canvas. Used to the hurly-burly of banquet and event management in the Philippines, Corinne has spun an art style that hews closely to abstract expressionism. Her works Food on My Mind, Postpartum, and Mother Frankenstein deeply delve on maternal psyche that is at once concerned with mun- dane tasks (what to serve for breakfast?), filial anxiety (how to make the baby happy?), and existential dread (when will there be an end to wildfires, climate change, and the pandemic?). Whether in Loutraki, New York, or Manila, Corinne seeks to depict motherhood as a transcen- dent state-of-being.

ELISABETH LOPEZ @elisabethlopezart

Elisabeth Lopez’s sensory paintings evoke movement and energy which accentuate the process, rather than the end result. Evasion and freedom are the cornerstones of her technique, dynamically drawing in spectators. Underlying stylistic influences of Rococo and Impressionism accent her Surrealist figurative and landscape paintings offer a distinctive visual plane. Lopez obtained a BA in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona as well as a Master’s Degree at Metafora School. She was drawn to the healing properties of art therapy; in particular, its effects on the elderly and children who have suffered from chronic diseases. Since then, she has elevated the visual experiences of her artworks through personal circumstances. Her works are mysterious and continuously transforming, much like the fantastical world of the subconscious is ever-evolving.

XAVI ART @byxaviart

Xavier Laurent Leopold, known artistically as Xavi Art, is a self- taught contemporary artist, exploring abstract portraiture, cubism and illustrative styles.Though Xavier always had a love for art, the lockdown period unearthed his desire and drive, which birthed his artistic passion. Xavier’s pieces draw inspiration from his lived experienc- es, relationships, ideology and worldview. During a time where the world has been forced to slow down, yet social and political unrest rage, Xavier’s art has been a source of personal therapy for him, and escapism for his audiences. Xavier is a multi-asset trader by profession who started his career in the city at the age of 19.

LEX PAN @lexpanart

Independent, self- taught artist Lex Pan, focuses her practice primarily on abstract portraiture, she brings these portraits to life through her playful digital illustrations and her oil-based portraits. Having moved to London for her studies, she was quickly exposed to the vibrant art world of London. Later on, she started working at an East End contemporary art gallery as well as a studio assistant to an established artist - where she was inspired to pursue her own career. Her works explores themes of identity, human connection, mental health and isolation, usually involves human-like creatures struggling to come to terms with their own emotions. Lex uses her art as a medium to encourage her own personal growth as well as her viewers’.

HARA AILAMAKI @all_the_right_moments

During lockdown, I discovered frogs inside the dirty rain waters of an unused pool. 'Wet land’ is a collection of small gestures that go unseen by people that do not ‘pause to see’. It communicates a struggle, a common theme within my practice. These frogs adapted and survived in the ever changing environment, and found a way to live on, no matter the circumstances. Hara Ailamaki makes works across disciplines that reference autobiographical themes of longing, loss, inner conflict, the passage of time and the space between ‘here’ and ‘there’. Influenced by existential theories she explores notions of repetition; producing objects, materials and experiences that represent man’s continual Sisyphean striving and the ultimate burden of ‘being’.
