art number 23 London • Athens
Art Number 23 is a London based organisation with two physical Gallery spaces in London and in Athens and also a Virtual Gallery! We are organising art exhibitions in all our Galleries and we invite artists from all over the world to share their work with us and participate in our shows! The aim is to create opportunities, in order to encourage and support artists to exhibit and promote their work.
IREM KUCUKAY
I studied Hospitality Management and worked for different companies for the last 20 years in Istanbul, New York, London and Las Vegas, meanwhile continuing to pursue my passion of painting. Living in different countries and synthesising myself with different cultures helped me to develop my own creativity. Color itself has always fascinated me and has formed the basis of my work starting with Expressionism. I am interested in creating an imaginary space that feels familiar but is more ambiguous, chaotic and abstracted.

ELIF YILMAZ @elifyillmaz
Like life, art is also an adventurous and risky journey to the unknown. It is hard to foresee the next phase in my paintings. The painting emerges on its own at the time of action and creates itself in a sense. I am the subject that creates the painting, but Ialso pay heed to the work of art. I listen to what it says and allows it to create itself accordingly. In this way, we become the two subjects that move.

Both artworks represent two important aspects without which it would be difficult to imagine our "modern world". Cruelty and lack of colors. How people are equally flat for their own benefits. How we try to find colors in everyday life.

Every situation experienced in abandoned and ruined buildings turns into a texture. UseBuildings that are out of sight and neglected lose their intended use. Meanwhile it becomes uninhabitablebut they survive. Over time, they lose their dynamism day by day. Thisruins become places that host visitors, and their texture has these different identities.keeps changing by saving. Places to reveal this changeIt is recorded by photographing. The situation these photos make felt can be expressed in abstraction.

KSENIA KOMAROVA @ru2006kc
The wheel of samsara is presented not in the classical form with gold, but in the form of a simple wheel of a cart, bogged down in the mud, pain and fear of this world, but it moves, it pulls it all and at the end of the path we will see a gap, enlightenment, an exit from the mud, crowned the gold of the sun.

"Endless staircase" is an artwork consisting of two photos of a particular staircase. With the "Double Exposure" technique, this already special backdrop becomes even more playful and interesting. Abstraction and confusion are the key factors for the art here. Nick Fabian is a photographer and artist - he works as a street worker with young homeless people and processes his world and experiences in various art forms.
