art number 23 London • Athens

Art Number 23 is a London based organisation with two physical Gallery spaces in London and in Athens and also a Virtual Gallery! We are organising art exhibitions in all our Galleries and we invite artists from all over the world to share their work with us and participate in our shows! The aim is to create opportunities, in order to encourage and support artists to exhibit and promote their work.

STEYN SKYLER @steynsky

My name is Steyn Skyler and I am an upcoming artist residing in Amsterdam. Just a couple of months ago I went online with my art, but it took me almost 4 years to create my own unique technique and style. I always start from scratch, and make my sketches on paper. When I am done with the sketches, my digital draw pad comes in, and I draw the same thing over and over again until it's perfect in my eyes, after that I print out the hand developed design on a 3 cm thick high quality canvas.

My name is Erhan Karagöz, self-taught artist from Istanbul, I have been producing since my childhood and painting has been my passion. Over the years, I’ve experienced many different technics and mediums in my figurative and abstract paintings such as oil, acrylic and embroidery on canvas, watercolour, mural art, digital art, illustration etc. and sometimes I combine them on a canvas to create different patterns and compositions.

ÇIĞDEM KIŞLALI

Just as every formation creates a dynamic within itself, every human goes from the whole to the essence, from the essence to the whole and turns inside again. The cycle called life starts at that point; From the whole to the essence, from the essence to the whole… it was undoubtedly the human who raised him. He was the one who created the universe and the self that will put an end to the universe

TANYA BELYATSKAYA @tanya_belart99

I am an amateur artist. I live and create my works in Moscow Oblast, Russia.I can say about myself: “I am a teacher by profession but an artist by nature”. I am inspired by the nature and try to convey its fragility and tenderness with the help of tiny details and bright colours. I also love folk tales and myths, so I often depict fairies, water spirits and other fabulous creatures. I sometimes invent my own fantastic flowers, trees and beastsand depict them in my works.I strongly feel that everything in the world is connected to each otherand we should love each other as well as our Mother Earth.

HOLGER TRILTSCH @hieronymusdrosophilus

Born in 1966 near Berlin I grew up in East Germany in Falkensee. Now I live in Werder/Havel which is closed to Potsdam. In East Germany I worked in different artist groups like „Keine Art“ and „Salon Visionell“. We realized several art book projects because of difficulties with exhibitions in state galleries at this time. After 1989 I was able to exhibit my work in several cities for instance in Potsdam, Halle, Brandenburg, Hamburg and Wien. I have been fascinating by renaissance artists like Leonardo da Vinci, Dürer, Raffael and Botticelli and other currents of realistic art.

JOY CLIFTON @joycliftonuk

I am a visual artist, who captures the fluidity of the ocean realm focusing on the movement of water, the abstraction of light and the sea creatures that inhabit this realm. Having spent many years living by the ocean and travelling the world I draw on this inspiration in my work. There is an echo of conservation and I address current issues that are affecting the natural world.

STELLA SEVASTOPOULOS @stellasevastopoulos

Stella explores both figurative art and abstract art, with elements of symbolism pervading both. She primarily looks to nature for her inspiration, creating landscapes and seascapes via which she aims for a ‘return to nature’ via art. For Stella, nature is the greatest teacher of all, which humans have to learn to reconnect with, and respect once again. Many of her abstract works that are inspired by nature, also explore design elements from various cultures and epochs. She likes to explore the ‘grey zones’ between art and design, and sometimes, even in the figurative works, you will discover some more abstract design elements. Stella recently also created a series of abstract works inspired by the music of David Bowie, while sea-related themes (e.g. mermaids, shells and sailing boats) are also often revisited.
