Art Number 23 is a London based organisation with two physical Gallery spaces in London and in Athens and also a Virtual Gallery! We are organising art exhibitions in all our Galleries and we invite artists from all over the world to share their work with us and participate in our shows! The aim is to create opportunities, in order to encourage and support artists to exhibit and promote their work.
ANASTASIA KALFOGLOU @nasia_kalf
Anastasia is from Thessaloniki Greece and she is a self taught artist. Her favorite artist is Frida Kahlo and she has been espe influenced by Kirsten Jackson. 2020 was a very complicated year for everyone. Except the covid-19 pandemic she had and still has to deal with non Hodjkin Lymphoma. Painting in quarantine reminded her how creative and cheerful she feels through this procedure and that helped her situation a lot. This is why most of her art is made with bright colors and wants people to feel joy and hapiness through her paintings.

ANNIE PORSA @annie.porsa
Annie is a Latvian artist currently based in London, creating abstract art full of colour, texture, and emotion. Her art is focused on self-exploration and mental well being. Having struggled with mental health and well being herself, Annie has discovered how healing viewing and creating art can be. The bright and sophisticated colour palette represents hope and a brighter future, filling every piece of art with feelings of enthusiasm, hope and happiness. By documenting her own selfexploration, Annie wishes to inspire others to do so as well and hopefully bring some kind of positive emotion, feeling, or change into the viewer or collector’s life.

JULIYA OBUKHOVSKAYA @j24studio
My name is Juliya and I’m originally from Ukraine, however I was raised in California and consider Madrid, Spain my home and studio base. I’m self-taught and work with mirror to create bold, eye-catching, statement art pieces. Working with this medium is complex and meditative at the same time because broken glass is sharp, raw and difficult to control however the finished pieces are smooth, collected, polished and pleasing to the eye. I’m attracted to the simplicity and versatility of geometric shapes, playing with positive/negative space and creating pieces that can be rearranged in different ways. I currently live and work in Madrid, Spain and sell my artwork in the United States and Europe.

DOREEN MÜLLER @doreenmuellergold
"Nature is my church, music is my soul."This is my principle, because without nature I would not exist and my art is made through music.I am an intuitive autodidact, which means I follow my gut feeling. This makes my work multidimensional and interdisciplinary. My images have, in the spirit of shamanism, a second face, which becomes visible under black light. What was just a black pattern, becomes in the dark to a coral-like underwater world, rays appear or other secrets. It is always a surprise and a magic trick."

EMMANUELLE ORR @emmanuelle_orr
Emmanuelle Orr is a printmaker based in London. Her practice focuses on bodies and places, and explores themes of connection and solitude, performance and intimacy. 2 of the prints presented here are from her Neon/City lights project. She used digitally manipulated photographs taken in Paris’ Red Light district as the basis for a series of vibrant and dark prints, in which the neons advertise only themselves, symbols of an after-dark world where people go to find fleeting connections, the warmth of flesh or the illusion of love. But here, we never see anyone- only the neons, the empty doorways or the wet streets remain, like discarded promises. The 3rd image shows a photographic contact sheet, manipulated until the thumbnail photos became unrecognisable. The result is a work focused on structure, with the framed images blurred from narrative events into abstract forms.

CATERINA CARRARO @cate_katerholzig_
Coming from the world of design, Caterina is fascinated by the study of perception and stimulus processing in immersive human experiences, she decided to ask questions about the future of coexistence on our planet. She began to investigate human-non-human matter, the mutation of the atmosphere and the world around us, for which we are responsible. “I aim to inspire our species to feel, attraction and visual pleasure when observing these creatures that are different from the human catalogue. They consist of the same compost, of which the space they inhabit is made. Their name is Guman. They are a laboratory of life, an autopoietic genderless system. Their vision generates a mental compost for awareness in the connections between multispecies. Guman are Humans vaccine, against the extinction mechanism based on reproduction through selfimage.”

SUGAN HOTHY (Espona_art) @espona_art I go by the name Espona Art with a mission to give others a taste of what goes on in my mind. The style of art I create is abstract expressionism delving into the unconscious, creating art that is derived from spontaneity; art that expresses the internal state somehow mimicking the universal surroundings. The connection between universal consciousness and one’s own conscious creation is displayed through the artwork, expressing textures, colours, and shapes. I see art as a form of escapism in its duality of abstract, making sense amongst chaos, sometimes drowning the external noise of everyday life. Creating for an artist is a necessity. Keeping the fire alive, giving zest to life is all which I experience when I create. A crisp bright space, pallet knives and brushes paired with heart felt music and a blank slate of cotton stretched canvas is the perfect combination, to allow the inner magic to bring forth layers of colour in magnitude.
