Art Number 23 is a London based organisation with two physical Gallery spaces in London and in Athens and also a Virtual Gallery! We are organising art exhibitions in all our Galleries and we invite artists from all over the world to share their work with us and participate in our shows! The aim is to create opportunities, in order to encourage and support artists to exhibit and promote their work.

ANNA KARVOUNARI @ana.rchisme

I’m a Greek born ,self-taught photographer and visual storyteller. I make conceptual self-portraits and I use the solitary female figure in my images.Self-portraiture for me is an exercise in self-exploration. I get inspired by paintings, movie scenes but mostly I have been affected by dark art.

WAN-RU LIN @rurubombltd

Wan-Ru Lin was born in Taiwan but lives and works in London. Fascinated by the possibilities of photography and videography, Wan-Ru has engaged analogue dark-room techniques alongside digital images and documentary videos. With a focus on process and aesthetics, Wan-Ru has approached topics including dream, time, environment and manipulation of materials, light and photographic technologies, always questioning the possibility of the image. This work aims to showcase nature in its true state. Rather than disguising or omitting the unsightly litter created by humans, Wan-Ru chooses to highlight it and asks the viewer to confront any feelings that may arise from this juxtaposition of natural and man-made forms.

OLGA LORENZ @temporary_lorenz

Art is the moment and the eternity simultaneously. We can only hope to overcome their unavoidable and ironic collision. In fine art, there is only a particular moment of life that you can capture. There is only a moment, that you can make eternal. You either see and capture the wind blowing fiercely, a neon coat in a gloomy city, the sky after snow in dull January, when all seems to be unbearable, the light at dawn when there’s so much hope for a better day, a wild garden at dusk in the heat, that has roasted all morning hopes, the sigh of regret, the real emotion of the young and the old denying of the worst and accepting only the best. With art, one can seize the moment to make it last forever – longer than a brief human life.

HELEN BIRNBAUM @helenbirnbaumceramics

Ceramic Transmission considers the transmission of disease. Electronic sound components have been integrated into sculpted ceramic forms that can be activated by touch. Through touch, the sculptures enable greater understanding and interest in theories about disease and transmission. They are also activators of emotions evoked when memorable sounds are heard. These interactions represent the relationship between art and science through connections between ceramic material, sound, touch and vision. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the spreading of the disease via touch, the interaction with the sculptures now takes place by scanning QR codes and the playing of sounds via smart devices such as mobile phones. Since the pandemic CERAMIC Transmission has been re-imagined as a commentary about a Liverpool community during the pandemic in ‘100 Hands’. I live and work in Skelmersdale, Lancashire surrounded by the 1960’s Modernist architecture and beautiful countryside that inspires much of my work.

CIHAN ÜNALAN @cihanunalan

Ever since I was little, I have always been fascinated with the magnificent world of comics, movies, Saturday morning cartoons and pop culture in general. Growing up, they have become my main source of inspiration and filled me with all the inspiration a person needs in his life. Today, as a contemporary artist and a Professional Advertising photographer, I am still greatly inspired from those magical characters and their adventures which take place in galaxies far far away. With these inspirations at heart and the use of mix techniques like scaled set/model building to photography and 3D imagery, each artwork goes through a long creative journey with great attention to detail at every step.

In Chrysa Tsirimokou's undisclosed projects, the existence of objects, emotions, vibes are represented through images that she describes as timeless moments of untold stories.
