SABINA KHOSSEYN “Love is the whole thing. We are only pieces.” * Can love be compared with something/someone? Hardly. What if “Love” is a confetti. Who can disagree? It can be compared, only sometimes. It is a festive feeling, that covers you up all over with the excitement, joy, pleasure and happiness. We do get excited right after the explosion of a confetti. Everyone around is excited. How long does the feeling last? Right. Not for long. For a moment only. The moment it covers your hair, your face, your clothes – all you want to do is to get rid of that “trash”. No
more excitement, no more joy, no more happiness. So, what do we do? We reach for the second confetti to experience the same feeling all over again. But all we want is the moment to be frozen. The moment we see the confetti up in the air. That moment is the moment we all are longing for. People are looking for love as the whole completed feeling. No one wants just a piece of love. No one wants the heart to break because of this feeling, and yet most of us experience that. Sometimes it feels that love comes and smashes against the walls of our hearts. We do not let the love get inside our hearts and mind once more because we are too scared after experiencing the heartbreak in the past. And we keep on smashing the love again and again and yet we are hungry for the love to strike us. After all, we all are looking for the broken to become unbroken and whole again. *Quote by Rumi.

ROSALIE BECHER @rosalie.becher
Throughout the years, the appearance of my work has shifted but the subject has stayed all together. I observe life and the human body – trying to express how I understand the surface in the matter of skin and texture but also in a sense of volume and body. I ask myself how abstract my paintings can be in order for the viewer to still recognize something familiar – something human. Do I have to form an arm, a head and legs or is just a hint enough? Just fingernails – just the presence of a presence… For me this portrays what my work is evolving around but the most important thing is the viewers reception. I am always curious to hear what someone else is seeing – what kind of image I can create in someone elses head. This is why I always try and seek out for a fresh pair of eyes to look at my work.

LAMA ISSA @lamaissaart
Untouched and wild landscapes, nature, the evening sky, and sunsets provide endless inspiration to my work. I am inspired by the works of Vincent Van Gogh, Claude Monet, Paul Cézanne, and Georgia O’Keeffe. My painting process begins with taking a walk in nature or going through past photographs of places I’ve visited and sketch down ideas. I like to experiment with both traditional and contemporary methods of landscape painting. Most of my paintings are reworked several times. I am at my happiest when I am outside connected to nature and I try to reflect this through my paintings. I like to incorporate vivid colours and movement and through experimenting, I create paintings that are physically exciting and rich. In my work, my goal is to capture nature’s energy and strive to show its beauty. I mainly focus on dramatic dawn and dusk landscape scenes.

THOMAS HOLLAND (POOR TOM)
My name is Poor Tom, I am an interdisciplinary artist from Essex, UK. Primarily I work with photography, focusing on portraits and elements of the face, my work looks at identity and how our beings are shaped by our experiences. These works are idealised images of several points in my past, growing up as an outsider in the working class outskirts of London, not really fitting in - each image takes notes from a point where I found a sense of belonging. The works are titled after slang from my youth, the self portraits show a person of authority in an abstracted and stylised way, surrealist in nature as they are not quite real.

JOANNA COHN
The purpose of my works is to invite people to connect with the Earth, and our environment. To take a moment to consider our relationship with the planet and time. Many of my paintings are produced by simulating the natural processes of corrosion, sedimentation and evaporation as layers of pigment, ink, wax and paint are added and removed and allowed to dry at various speeds. What at first appears an abstract image might become an aerial view of an imaginary landscape. Equally in my etchings, I encourage ‘spontaneous' chemical reactions in the acid which can to reveal magnificent complex textures. In January 2019 I took part in The Tate Exchange at the Tate Modern. I have had work accepted into The Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair 2019, Grange Park Festival 2019, Holt Festival 2020, Visual Art Open 2020, and had work exhibited at Glyndebourne’s 94 gallery as finalist for the Touring Art Competition 2019. I have shown work at the Peggy Jay Gallery and at LUX, had a painting auctioned at The Sotheby's Institute Charity Auction in 2019 and had my animated monoprint screened as part of the Open Mouth Festival also in 2019.

NICOLE THORNTON @madeby.nicole
My artwork showcases the effortless beauty, strength, and courage of black women in both a realistic and abstract way. Often, black women are portrayed in a negative light and are misunderstood in society. However, my artwork represents their undeniable grace and warmth, challenging the stereotype. At the age of 7, I discovered my passion for art. I enjoy experimenting with a range of mediums to create various effects, evoke different emotions and tell different stories through my artwork. For me, art is my escape and solace. I was born and raised in London with a heritage from Barbados, Dominica and St. Lucia. I studied Art & Design at Thomas Tallis School, a specialist arts college and leading school of creativity.

CATARINA DIAZ @catarina_diaz_
I’m a London-based manual collage and mixed media artist. My artworks infused with Portuguese soul transcend mediums. By combining realism with surrealism and spirituality, my vibrant colour pallete captures London’s cosmopolitan life juxtaposed with wild nature motifs. The contrast alludes to the possibility of nature restoring tranquillity to the chaos of the world. My pieces evoke contemplation, and ultimately, a return to to blissful memories, as the start of a journey of self-healing. I have exhibited in the UK and throughout Europe and my artworks have appeared in British publications such as House & Garden, The World of Interiors and Vogue.
