American-Canadian violinist Benjamin Bowman performs to critical acclaim throughout North America, Europe, and Asia. Benjamin is very active and engaged as a chamber musician and soloist; he is a member or frequent guest artist for leading chamber music ensembles internationally, including the twice Grammy-nominated ARC (Artists of the Royal Conservatory), the Art of Time Ensemble, and Leondari Ensemble. Benjamin was featured on the 2013 Juno-winning album Levant and the 2011 Juno-nominated disc Armenian Chamber Music with the Amici Chamber Ensemble. Other collaborative work includes extensive immersion in contemporary & new music, improvisation and performance with singer-songwriters. Benjamin is concertmaster of the American Ballet Theatre orchestra in New York.
As a soloist, Andrew made his debut with the Toronto Symphony at the age of seventeen and went on to perform with countless orchestras under the batons of Sir Andrew Davis, Yannick Nezet-Seguin, Jukka-Pekka Saraste, and Pinchas Zukerman to name a few. He has performed throughout Canada, the United States, and Europe as both soloist and chamber musician and for over twenty years Andrew had an ongoing collaboration with modern dancer Peggy Baker. In 1998, Andrew founded the Art of Time Ensemble, which is committed to reaching across borders that separate artistic genres and audiences. Andrew has recorded for CBC SM5000, Naxos, Centerdisc and Opening Day labels, and is a faculty member at the Glenn Gould School.

Martha Burns has performed leading roles at the Stratford and Shaw Festivals and at theatres across the country. Winner of the 2005 Barbara Hamilton Award for “excellence and professionalism in the performing arts”, she also received two Dora Mavor Moore Awards for her work in Trafford Tanzi and The Miracle Worker and was nominated for three more. She is a founding member of Soulpepper Theatre Company, and is a Gemini winner for Best Actress for her leading role of Ellen Fanshaw in Slings and Arrows, and two supporting actress Genie Awards for Long Day’s Journey Into Night and Love and Savagery. She received a 2015 best supporting actress nomination for the recurring role of Rebecca Baker in the Global TV series Remedy.
Originally from Calgary, Alberta, Carolyn Blackwell has shared the stage with Martin Beaver, Alicia Weilerstein, Renaud Capuçon, Daniel Phillips, and Mayumi Seiler. She performs with the Art of Time Ensemble and the Artists of The Royal Conservatory (ARC) where she is featured on the group’s recording Two Roads to Exile from the RCA Sony Red Label. Carolyn performs regularly with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the National Ballet of Canada, and the Canadian Opera Company (COC). Ms. Blackwell has performed as acting violist of The Aviv Quartet, collaborated with the Vienna Piano Trio and was recently appointed violist of the Tokai String Quartet. She can be heard on CBC and BBC Radio. Carolyn also performs regularly in Switzerland as a member of the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra. Upcoming projects include Cervo Chamber Music, The Verbier Fesival, Ahuntsic en Fugue in Montreal, and Open Chamber Music at the IMS Prussia Cove, UK. Carolyn completed her studies with Steven Dann and Nick Pulos.

Saxophonist Wallace Halladay is at home in numerous styles, from the traditional to jazz and beyond. A specialist in the performance of contemporary music, he has commissioned and premiered numerous works. A soloist with the Vancouver Symphony and Esprit Orchestras, he also inaugurated the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony’s “Intersections” Series. He recorded the two saxophone Sequenzas of Berio and the Colgrass concerto for NAXOS. He is in demand as a performer with new music groups across Canada and the US. Wallace holds a doctorate from the Eastman School of Music, and studied at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with Arno Bornkamp. He has taught at Memorial University and the Eastman School of Music, and presently teaches at the University of Toronto. Wallace was the 2009 recipient of the prestigious Virginia Parker Prize from the Canada Council for the Arts. Wallace is a Conn-Selmer Artist and plays Selmer (Paris) saxophones.
Teng Li is establishing herself as a diverse and dynamic international performer. Along with her TSO solo appearances, Li has performed with the National Chamber Orchestra, the Santa Rosa Symphony, the Munich Chamber Orchestra, the Haddonfield Symphony, Shanghai Opera Orchestra, the Canadian Sinfonietta, and Esprit Orchestra. Her performances have been broadcast on CBC Radio 2, National Public Radio, and radio in New York, Pennsylvania, Chicago, and Munich. Li is also an active recitalist and chamber musician participating in the festivals of Marlboro, Santa Fe, Mostly Mozart, Music from Angel Fire, Rome, Moritzburg, and the Rising Stars Festival in Caramoor. She has performed with the Guarneri Quartet in New York, at Carnegie Hall and with the 92nd St. “Y” Chamber Music Society. Teng was also featured with the Guarneri Quartet in their last season, and was a member of the prestigious Lincoln Center Chamber Music Society Two Program. Li has won top Prizes at the Johanson International and the Holland-America Music Society competitions, the Primrose International Viola Competition, the Irving M. Klein International String Competition, and the ARD International Music Competition in Munich. She was also a winner of the Astral Artistic Services 2003 National Auditions.
susan hoeppner Canadian flutist Susan Hoeppner is an established international soloist and chamber musician, having performed as a guest soloist with orchestras around the world. In Canada, she has performed with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, and many others. A celebrated recording artist, her numerous discs have been received with critical acclaim. Susan Hoeppner is proud to introduce works by Canadian composers to her audiences, and has been invited to perform in Canadian Embassies worldwide. She recently commissioned a flute Sonata by Gary Kulesha and premiered the work in in Canada and Mexico. Susan Hoeppner graduated from The Juilliard School in New York, and is on faculty at the Royal Conservatory of Music’s Glenn Gould School and the University of Toronto.

A Toronto native, Joe studied double bass at the University of Toronto with the renowned virtuoso Joel Quarrington. Phillips has been Principal Double Bassist with Orchestra London since 2007, a position he has also held with the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra and Sinfonia Toronto. He plays regularly with violinist Mayumi Seiler in her Via Salzburg Chamber Music series and in concerts with the Art of Time Ensemble and the Sweet Water Music Festival. He performs with Sarah Slean, Patricia O’Callaghan, Jenny Whiteley, Andrew Downing’s chamber-jazz group Arts & Letters. Joe has contributed to many recordings, including Juno-nominated albums by the Pierre Schryer Band, Joey Wright and The Wailin’ Jennys. Joe has written symphony orchestra arrangements for a number of Canadian artists, including blues diva Rita Chiarelli, and songwriter Ian Tamblyn.
Cellist Thomas Wiebe is well known to Canadian concertgoers as a soloist and chamber musician. He has performed as a guest artist with Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony Orchestra and Orchestra London Canada, the Juilliard Orchestra at Lincoln Center in New York, and with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra. He also plays in the Duke Trio with violinist Mark Fewer and pianist Peter Longworth. He has recorded for the CBC, Centrediscs, Doremi and Bowl labels. Thomas Wiebe is on faculty at Western University in London, Ontario, and at the Domaine Forget Summer Music Academy in Quebec.
stephen sitarski Stephen Sitarski is Concertmaster of the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra and held the same position with the Esprit Orchestra and the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony (KWS) for 15 seasons. Sitarski became Artistic Director of the KWS “Baroque and Beyond”. Stephen frequently appears as soloist, performing many concertos in the standard repertoire as well as concertos written especially for him by Canadian composers. Stephen is a founding member of Trio Laurier, and is a regular participant in diverse chamber groups and festival events nationally and internationally with many of Canada’s finest musicians. Stephen has arranged music for the Emperor Quartet, Quartetto Gelato and the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony. Stephen is also on the faculty of Wilfrid Laurier University, Toronto’s Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory of Music.
winona zelenk a Winona Zelenka obtained her Bachelor of Music and Artist Diploma at the University of Indiana, and studied with the legendary Janos Starker. As a soloist, Winona has performed with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, and has performed in the Mississauga Symphony, the Scarborough Philharmonic, and the Huronia Sinfonietta. She is a dedicated recitalist and chamber musician, regularly performing in several Toronto music series. In June of 2010 Winona released her first CD set of Bach’s Suites for Solo Cello, a recording on Marquis Classics. Winona has won orchestral positions in England, Canada and the United States. Her professional career has included two seasons as Acting Principal Cellist of the Santa Fe Opera Orchestra, and five seasons as Acting Principal Cellist of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.
