As a soloist, Andrew made his debut with the Toronto Symphony at the age of seventeen and went on to perform with countless orchestras under the batons of Sir Andrew Davis, Yannick Nezet-Seguin, Jukka-Pekka Saraste, and Pinchas Zukerman to name a few. He has performed throughout Canada, the United States, and Europe as both soloist and chamber musician and for over twenty years Andrew had an ongoing collaboration with modern dancer Peggy Baker. In 1998, Andrew founded the Art of Time Ensemble, which is committed to reaching across borders that separate artistic genres and audiences. Andrew has recorded for CBC SM5000, Naxos, Centerdisc and Opening Day labels, and is a faculty member at the Glenn Gould School.

Christine Duncan teaches in the jazz programs at the University of Toronto and Humber College. She also performs with many musical groups and projects, notably Hugh Fraser’s Vancouver Ensemble of Jazz Improvisation (VEJI), Barnyard Drama with drummer/ electronic artist Jean Martin, and more recently with 2014 Polaris Prize winner, Tanya Tagaq. She directs an improvising choir in Toronto called the Element Choir and regularly teaches voice and improvising workshops. Christine is also part of Barnyard Records, an independent record label, run by her partner Jean Martin.

stephen cl arke Stephen Clarke has performed in festivals in Europe, Canada, the U.S. and South America including the Donaueschinger Musiktage and the Berliner Festwochen. He has appeared as soloist with the Los Angeles Philharmonic New Music Group, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra of the S.E.M. Ensemble, New Music Concerts (Toronto), Esprit Orchestra and the Merce Cunningham Dance Company. In 2011 Stephen played at the Museo Casa Scelsi in Rome at the invitation of the Fondazione Scelsi. He has played in a duo with violinist Marc Sabat, worked with a number of ensembles and is the pianist with Arraymusic. Solo recordings include first recordings of works by Giacinto Scelsi (Mode Records), Udo Kasemets (hatHut), Marc Sabat (World Edition) and Horatiu Radulescu (Mode).

wall ace hall aday Saxophonist Wallace Halladay is at home in numerous styles, from the traditional to jazz and beyond. A specialist in the performance of contemporary music, he has commissioned and premiered numerous works. A soloist with the Vancouver Symphony and Esprit Orchestras, he also inaugurated the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony’s “Intersections” Series. He recorded the two saxophone Sequenzas of Berio and the Colgrass concerto for NAXOS. He is in demand as a performer with new music groups across Canada and the US. Wallace holds a doctorate from the Eastman School of Music, and studied at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with Arno Bornkamp. He has taught at Memorial University and the Eastman School of Music, and presently teaches at the University of Toronto. Wallace was the 2009 recipient of the prestigious Virginia Parker Prize from the Canada Council for the Arts. Wallace is a Conn-Selmer Artist and plays Selmer (Paris) saxophones.

Juno Award winner John Johnson is one of the most in-demand musicians in Toronto. A highly-respected session player, John is proficient on all the saxophones from sopranino through baritone, as well as piccolo, flute, alto flute, clarinet, and bass clarinet. In the clubs, John can often be seen playing with bands such as Soul Stew, The Montuno Police, The Barlow Group, Michael Pickett, Cimmaron, Vector, The Boss Brass, and Manteca. He has performed with Molly Johnson, Holly Cole, Diane Krall, Aretha Franklin, Roberta Flack, Dionne Warwick, Peabo Bryson, Cal Dodd, Dianne Reeves, Bill Mays, the Flying Bulgar Klezmer Band, and has appeared as a guest artist with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra on numerous occasions.

Since 1978, Blair has performed and recorded on percussion and drumset in a variety of contemporary, instrumental contexts - from contemporary chamber music with the ARRAYMUSIC ensemble, ECM and S.M.C.Q., in featured concerts with Aretha Franklin and the Moody Blues, and has been a featured soloist at festivals worldwide. From 1994 to 1998, Blair toured the world with the Dangerous Kitchen Ensemble, performing the music of Frank Zappa. Between 2000 to 2002, Blair performed with the Autumn Leaf Production of Kopernicus, by Claude Vivier, performing in France, England, Banff, Montreal and Toronto. From 1988 to 2009, Blair was the principal percussionist with the Esprit Orchestra, and since 1999, has been a full time member of the Arraymusic ensemble. Since 1992 Blair has been artistic director of the Evergreen Club Contemporary Gamelan (ECCG). While Blair continues to direct ECCG and perform in various ensembles and productions, he is pursuing a Doctoral degree in performance from the University of Montreal. Blair Mackay recently received a Hall of Fame Juno award and in 2009, was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.

pat kilbride Pat has toured in Canada, the US and Europe and played on sessions including over 200 albums, several of which were nominated for Juno awards. Selected performing and recording highlights include: Michael Brecker, Ian Hunter, Mick Ronson, David Foster, Diana Krall, Jann Arden, Bob Rock, Roger Hodgson [Supertramp], Ron Sexsmith, Josh Groban, Hockey Night in Canada, Don Breithaupt, Rik Emmet, Sandi Patty, Colm Wilkinson, John McDermott, The Code, Five after Four, Virgil Donati, and Gia. He teaches at Humber College.

michael murr ay Michael Murray was born in Thunder Bay, Ontario and picked up the guitar at the age of 16. Two years later he moved to Toronto to attend Humber College’s Bachelor of Music program, where he studied with many of Canada’s greatest musical talents including Ted Quinlan, Tony Zorzi, Emile d’Eon, and others. He was the recipient of the Ted Quinlan Guitar Award. Since graduating Michael can be seen performing in a wide variety of musical settings in the Toronto scene.

Gregory Oh gained his notoriety as a “new music revolutionary”, but he is equally at home in the opera, theatre and indie rock. Holding graduate degrees from the University of Toronto and University of Michigan, Gregory is an acclaimed classical pianist whose repertoire spans five centuries. His recent work has seen him appear in places from the National Arts Centre to legendary techno club Berghain in Berlin, and the Festival International de Musique Actuelle de Victoriaville to the Wordless Music Series at the Lincoln Centre. Gregory is the artistic director of the Open Ears Festival and acclaimed new music group Toca Loca, and contemporary music curator at Toronto’s Music Gallery. He has worked at San Diego Opera, the Canadian Opera Company and the Banff Opera Program. He teaches at the University of Toronto, is on faculty at the National Youth Orchestra of Canada, and is a resident artist at Soulpepper Theatre.

David Wall is a composer, lyricist, singer and vocal coach. As lead vocalist of the Bourbon Tabernacle Choir he toured Canada extensively, appearing regularly on television and radio. He has performed and recorded with an impressive cross-section of artists. . Since 2001 David has developed a busy career as a composer. He has worked with directors such as Simcha Jacobovici, Avi Lewis, Michael Maclear and John Greyson and has written many scores for film and television. He has written a large repertoire of songs in an assortment of genres from pop and rock to gospel, blues and jazz. Recently he has contributed original Yiddish songs and settings of modern Yiddish poetry to his Jewish music projects, including collaborative work with acclaimed jazz pianist Marilyn Lerner. David has also worked on many experimental and multi-media musical projects in collaboration with designer Bruce Mau and with filmmaker John Greyson.

ryan scot t Critically acclaimed percussionist Ryan Scott has appeared as guest soloist with the Esprit Orchestra, the National Arts Centre Orchestra, The Hyogo Performing Arts Centre Orchestra, The Austin Symphony, The Syracuse Symphony Orchestra, The West Virginia Symphony Orchestra, and Amici Strings. Ryan is also a stalwart figure in the Toronto new music community. In addition to his work as a regular guest artist with NEXUS, the Esprit Orchestra and the Canadian Opera Company Orchestra (1996-), he is also a sought-after chamber musician, and teacher. He performs consistently with Soundstreams Canada (1996-) and New Music Concerts (1999-). A core member of Continuum Contemporary Music (founded 1985, joined 1996), he also serves as co-Artistic Director (2011-).
