A NIGHT AFTER FIVE PM by Isabella Bosi Because at five pm we will find out if knives can cut through knives. Maybe I’ll sip the foam off the top of a cappuccino from Italy. Much of authority at the moment stinks to high hell, they better give us a better show. Everything I see reminds me of flames. It’s necessary to go to as many extremes as possible. This little rain check – it all looks like a toy town glistening bronzed orange. Burning because the English got the end mixed up. The elderly are stunted into wheelchairs because its easier to control zombies. We steal from empty shelves, the empty shelves of what we are. Physical possessions useless amongst our homes even in this night. Because soon we will all be in boxes. We are not fleeing our parents, or our homelands, but we still fight and steal and beat and feel as if we are alone. With our mobile phones, isolated, home? No more milk. NO more eggs. Students noticed that something was happening. ‘Give to the poor’. Production, Production, but where are all the CEO’S. I’m sorry I interrupted your manufacturing to look at the blazing trees, just transferring to the world of imaginary. I’ll write a story about a murder. But there’s now too many to take note. Our candidate sticks his face through broken glass at 5pm, the sound of our phones cracking at the wretched screen. Did not the populace choose the image they wanted to rule them? Money is simply rejection, yes, a place to breathe. And where is the Queen with her crown for our ventilators. Soon morning breaks and children play with their plaything’s in their schools. But maybe there is a beauty in this. After all, even the poor want their own mirror. The world was created in the image of God? And even in flames, the rain will pour. And the water will no longer be murky, but obsolete. And we will all take a ride on the Ark. And of course, once again we will be cleansed. We will take back our nights after 5pm. We wait in isolation. But they can’t let us, and they never will.
