ART SAN DIEGO'S 8TH ANNUAL SHOW BOASTED RECORD SALES AND ATTENDANCE Art San Diego Contemporary Art Show, with presenting sponsor UBS Financial Services, announced record attendance and strong sales for the show's 8th edition in November 2016. The four-day contemporary art show welcomed over 14,200 attendees, including more than 5,000 guests at the show’s Opening Night Preview Party—an 11% increase from 2015. Art San Diego 2016 featured the works of more than 70 established and up-and-coming artists and galleries—not just from southern California, but also from around the globe. We're happy to announce that exhibitors reported over $1 million in sales during last year's show. Top sellers included James Paterson, who sold 14 pieces from his Prayer Machine Collection; Avran Fine Art, who sold Seen Throughout by James Leonard for $20,000 and Petals, a glass sculpture by Laszlo Lukacsi, for $58,000; Siri Hollander, who sold one of her equine sculptures, Cinco, for $12,500; and La Perfection Louis, who sold two sculptures: Odin for $11,500 and These for $10,500. James Paterson Studio, thrilled to kick off the fall season by selling 14 pieces from Paterson's Prayer Machine Collection, commented, "We wanted to let you know how much we appreciated being a part of Art San Diego 2016 and what a wonderful job we thought you all did in preparing the venue and presenting the show. We continue to count it a privilege to be part of the RMG family and thought that this edition of ASD 2016 was the best yet—the wide aisles, the open center space, the lighting, and the high ceiling were great. And the crowds were real art lovers. Well done." As San Diego's only contemporary fine art show, Art San Diego has become one of the leading cultural events in Southern California. Since its inception in 2009, ASD has enriched the city with site-specific art projects, art talks and panel discussions, and a curated selection of emerging artists. Last year’s show included works from Spotlight Artists, San Diego Art Prize recipients, a LaunchPad artist, and Art Lab presentations.
