Park Radio on Tour

on tour

Park Radio have recently started to take a tour of some of the towns and villages it serves, including Hoxne, Fressingfield WI, Wortham, Harleston & Eye. Parky Bear is usually in attendance and, along with Chris, would like to thank those villages that we have visited for the kind and warm welcome we received.

Hoxne The village of Hoxne welcomed Park Radio on a recent visit. We based ourselves at the popular Post Office and shop. With Parky Bear in attendance we were given a warm welcome by everyone; it was so good to meet a number of our listeners. Some of the history of the village and details of our visit was aired live via a telephone link. We handed out Park Radio pens, wrist bands and copies of our ‘On the Air’ magazine.

Visit to Fressingfield WI

Wortham Another recent visit on our tour was the popular and busy Wortham Tea Rooms. We received a lovely welcome and spent a great deal of time talking with locals and finding out a bit about the village. Parky Bear was eying up the cakes and it was difficult to get that Bear to concentrate on the proceedings. We use these visits to collect leaflets about what is going on in communities and where necessary we advertise these events free on the air, and to touch base with our listeners.

“On September 14th Chris Moyse visited Fressingfield Women's Institute to talk to us about Park Radio. It was interesting listening to him and the lovely lady with him (sorry didn't catch the name). I tuned into your station later in the week and in a short space of time heard Leo Sayer, The Beatles, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, ABBA and T Rex. It was so refreshing to hear a different, varied, playlist, with music being the focus, rather than the presenters. You're now a Pre-Set Station on my radio, my husband who readily becomes bored listening to other stations is a fan. Anyway, I just wanted to say thank you and make a request. The request is for all of the Volunteers at Park Radio. Anything from the 70's, whatever time is best for your team.” Many Thanks, Jacqui Thone
