The Premiere International Contemporary & Modern Art Fair in the Hamptons
Art Southampton LETTER FROM THE SHOW DIRECTOR
Dear Art Patrons, On behalf of our organization, Art Miami, LLC, we would like to welcome you to the Inaugural Edition of Art Southampton. This is a very exciting time and opportunity for the Hamptons, Eastern Long Island, our organization, participating galleries, and the international community of art collectors and artists who vacation or call the East End home during the summer months. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our Host Committee and the Fair’s three beneficiaries; Southampton Hospital, the Ross School and the Watermill Center for their unanimous support of Art Southampton. I must also take the time to personally thank our friend Alexandra Fairweather for her tireless effort and commitment to the arts and for choosing Art Southampton for the premiere of her documentary ‘HEAARTBEAT’ on her late step-father the incomparable John Chamberlain. I would also like to thank Guggenheim Museum Senior Curator, Susan Davidson, for sharing her insightful thoughts on the late John Chamberlain and the mark he has left on the world. As well we would like to give special thanks to Gallery Valentine, the Official Host Gallery of Art Southampton for their continued support and hospitality. Last but not least, we would like to thank you, our patrons, for your continued support of Art Southampton. We hope you enjoy the Fair and look forward to seeing you over the winter months in Miami for Art Miami, CONTEXT and Art Wynwood. Sincerely,
Nick Korniloff Partner | Founder | Director

Art Southampton HIGHLIGHTS
The Premiere International Contemporary & Modern Art Fair In The Hamptons
PREMIERE OF ‘HEAARTBEAT’ THE JOHN CHAMBERLAIN DOCUMENTARY
THE ROSS SCHOOL CHAMBERLAIN-FAIRWEATHER SCHOLARSHIP FUND FOR THE ARTS Thursday, July 26 | 7:30PM – 9PM The Premiere screening of “HEAARTBEAT” will benefit the Ross School’s Chamberlain–Fairweather Scholarship Fund for the Arts. John Chamberlain, Prudence Fairweather and Alexandra Fairweather created the Fund in 2007 to recognize and support students with a passion for the arts that are in need of financial aid to receive the excellent global interdisciplinary education offered by Ross School. Each year this scholarship encourages young artists to realize their dreams and impact the future of fine arts. Limited seating. Tickets available for $500 pp. at www.art-southampton. com. 100% of the proceeds will benefit the Fund.
Art Southampton is pleased to host the Premiere of ‘HEAARTBEAT’, an independent documentary that focuses on the art and life of the world-renowned sculptor, the late John Chamberlain, by his step daughter, filmmaker Alexandra Faiweather. Susan Davidson, Senior Curator, Collections and Exhibitions at the Guggenheim Museum will speak about John Chamberlain’s life and work prior to the two intimate screenings on July 26 & July 27. Davidson curated the acclaimed John Chamberlain retrospective which was recently exhibited at the Guggenheim this past spring. By documenting Chamberlain’s artistic process and intentions, the film reveals his desire to go out into the world and create art that makes your ‘heart beat’. ‘HEAARTBEAT’ captures the man that the public has not seen before: Chamberlain as a father, a husband, and a friend. As he battles health issues, Chamberlain works fervently to complete sculptures that will leave his mark on the world. In conclusion, the movie asserts that art’s true value comes from the presentation of ‘unprecedented information’ and the ‘experience of self-discovery’.
THE WATERMILL CENTER CHAMBERLAIN RESIDENCY GRANT FUND Friday, July 27 | 5PM – 6:30PM The Watermill Center Summer Bash Kick-off Event Internationally acclaimed director and Watermill Center Founder Robert Wilson, will host a VIP Reception followed by a screening of “HEAARTBEAT”. International friends and local supporters of The Watermill Center who are attending their Summer Bash Saturday evening will be able to kickoff their weekend in grand style in the VIP Lounge at Art Southampton. 6:30PM – 8PM An intimate screening of “HEAARTBEAT” to launch the Watermill Center/Chamberlain Residency Grant Fund. Limited seating. Tickets available for $500 pp. at www.art-southampton.com. 100% of the proceeds will benefit the Fund.
