Cultural  Accommodation   "Tonguidong  BoanYeogwan(inn)",  located  in  the  1st  street  in  Tongui-dong,  has  been  always  a  "cultural  space".  As  the  word  â€˜inn’  suggests,  it  has  been  a  shelter  for  people  who  have  come  and  gone  for  over  seven  decades.    But  even  before  that,  Tongin-dong,  was  one  of  the  most  important  cultural  districts  for  artists  of  old  time  Korea.  The  painter,  â€˜Kyumje  Jeong  seon’,  who  established  â€˜Jinkyung  Sansu  ,眞 景⟭幹⽔水(true-view)’  style  painting,  used  to  spend  time  in  Tongindong  area  with  his  friends  during  the  Joseon  Dynasty.  The  scholar,  calligrapher  and  painter,  Chusa  Kim  Jong  Hui,  who  made  famous  work  â€˜Sehando  ,ć­˛ĺŻ’ĺœ–â€™,  was  born  in  Tongin-dong.  During  the  Japanese  colonial  era.   Tongin-dong  alley  was  described  as  â€˜dead  end  alley’  in  â€˜Ogamdo  çƒ?çž°ĺœ–â€™  by  the  poet  Lee  Sang.  In  addition,  the  poet  Seo  Jeong-ju    published  the  literary  magazine,  â€˜The  Poets  Quarter’,  actually  in  Boan  Inn  with  other  poets.  Not  only  Tongin-dong  and  Boan  Inn  been  an  inspirational  for  such  artists  and  poat,  but  the  location  is   important  as  it  is  surrounded  by  many  historical  site,  such  as  Gyeongbok  Palace,  the  Blue  House,  Gwanghwa  Gate,  Yeongchu  Gate,  Geumchun,  Tongin  Market  and  Inwang  Mountain.  Boan  Inn  is  living  history,  carrying  the  traces  of  all  those  who  spent  time  there.   By  Lee  Sanghwa,  poet   Â
