PRICING UPDATE

You will notice different pricing this year. You may pay any of the amounts listed. There will be no difference in camp experience for any camper and no one will know the price paid. The top price is the amount we need to cover all expenses for campers without borrowing from other district funds. The other amounts will help cover costs, but we will have to borrow against other accounts to help pay for expenses. Please pay the amount you are most comfortable with, knowing we strive to make camp as affordable to all as possible. If you need help with camp costs, please contact Steve Hensley at 304-522-0357 or shensley@firstunitedmethodist.com. Some scholarship funds are available.

YOUNGER ELEMENTARY

Grades k-2: July 2nd - 4th, 2018

TREASURE ISLAND My name is Schauna Chambers and I will be filling in this summer for the younger elementary camp as our usual younger elementary dean, Lana Blake, will be preparing to have her beautiful baby this summer. I am the Director of Children’s Education and Youth Pastor at First United Methodist in Huntington. I have been a part of Asbury Woods since I helped my mother drop off older sister at elementary camp and I started counting down to when I could be a camper. I worked as a preschool teacher at Cross Roads United Methodist for 7 years and I have a passion for helping kids grow in their faith. I am excited to announce that the theme this summer will be Treasure Island. This is the first year the younger elementary children will be able to stay 2 nights instead of just 1. They will have a blast with scavenger hunts through the forest, making crafts, singing songs and making s’mores at the campfire, and building friendships and memories that will last a lifetime! I cannot wait to have your little ones at camp with us as we dive deeper in the Ultimate Treasure of God’s love at Asbury Woods Treasure Island. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call/text me (304-634-9684) or reach me through Facebook. I will provide answers to any questions you may have.

OLDER ELEMENTARY

Grades 3-5: July 1st - 4th, 2018

Older elementary camp will have a slightly different schedule this year: Sunday July 1st to Wednesday July 4th. Reach out to Katrina Burgess for more information. 304.416.0303 burgess135@marshall.edu

MIDDLE SCHOOL

Grades 6-8: July 8th - 13th, 2018

THE SAVAGE LIFE Hello! I'm very excited for Middle School Camp and our study, The Savage Life. For most of us, it is easy to live complacently for Christ and more radically for our own goals and dreams. But is that what He really wants for us? During our week we will walk through all five chapters of the book of Ephesians. The goal of this week is to encourage students to live out a truly “savage” life in Christ rather than settle for a normal life of living for the next adrenaline rush. In addition to our studies, campers will participate in a variety of games, competitions, team building activities, and general weirdness that is at the heart of all summer camps. Feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns: gaylahvanhorn@gmail.com or 304.690.1590. Hope to see you soon! In Christ, Gayla Van Horn

HIGH SCHOOL

Grades 9-12: July 15th - 20th, 2018

ASBURY WOODS HIGH: WHERE CLIQUES GO TO DIE Church camp is the absolute best setting to grow in your faith and set your soul on fire for God. However, the flame seems to fade to dim when the end of the week comes and “reality” set back in. But what if we bring a sense of reality to camp? THIS SUMMER high school camp is going to focus on just that: high school. Those four years in everyone’s life can bring the greatest memories, but also the greatest struggles. During July 15-20, we will be looking at issues that everyone deals with during high school. From learning not to stereotype others to breaking down what makes up healthy relationships, we are holding nothing back to help us grow deeper in our faith. Through real conversations we will grow closer to one another and connections will be made that will last a lifetime. Our high school theme will continue to carry over into our games (some messy as well as some not) and fun night activities. When packing for camp, make sure you bring a great attitude and some creative juices because you will need them! We are going to build upon our foundation from last year and make year two one that we will never forget. If you would like to stay up to date with the latest camp details, find us on Facebook to be added to the High School Camp Event Page! Remember our camp in prayer and thank you for the support! Sincerely, Mandie and Megan Ronk
