EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE
Saw CabanEverything Everywhere All at Once, released March 2022, is an absurdist multiverse movie, directed by Dan Kwan and Daniel Scheinert. The editing, storytelling, cinematography and costumes are masterfully crafted and absolutely breathtaking, and it will make you laugh and cry mere moments apart, often keeping you in suspense and guessing what will happen next you will be wrong! It has fast paced comedic action scenes with clever, well timed jokes, and at the core of it all, a story about a small family and their issues.
The protagonist is Evelyn Wang, a Chinese woman who left for America to raise a family with her husband, Waymond She lives and works at a laundromat, each machine in a constant circular motion, not unlike her life, a whirlwind of emotion and frustration, projecting the expectations her father had for her onto her daughter, Joy, and constantly fighting with her husband Joy wants to introduce her girlfriend, Becky, to her grandfather, but Evelyn is ashamed of them and stops her Suddenly, her husband turns into someone she doesn't know quite literally and tells her she is the only hope for the entire multiverse.
The movie starts realistic, showing their difficulty filing taxes, and Waymond trying to give Evelyn divorce papers, but as the movie progress it increases in its absurdity and complexities as Evelyn finds herself lost in the endless possibilities of who she could have become and who she is, until there is no distinction between the two She transports herself through thousands of universes, and uses the skills she has there to help her fight in her universe - with enough silliness that its clear it doesn't take itself too seriously. The film is about all encompassing love and acceptance, and is a fantastic watch It is an absurd, twisting ride that you wont regret taking!

W hat M akes Garry's M od So Eerie?
By Alya GultekinGarry Newm an, aged 40, released the first version of Garry?sMod in 2004. It was originally a side project, but Newm an was passionate enough to start work on it full-tim e. Originally starting as a m od for Half-Life, Garry?sMod took item s and m aps from the gam e before becom ing its own standalone client. Newm an utilized the sounds, m aps, m odels, and interface of Half-Lifeand Portal. As m ore versions were released in the base gam e, the Garry?sMod com m unity grew. A website called garrysm od.org, which is no longer active, was created; it becam e a place for the player base com m unity to upload their own add ons to the m od. As Garry?s Mod grew to be m ore popular, the attention was caught by Valve, the publisher of Half-Life. In 2006, Garry?s Mod, with the perm ission of Valve, was released as a standalone gam e on Steam by the publisher Facepunch.

(Robert W hat)If we think about the gam es that were m ade with the sam e gam e engine as Garry?sMod, we can see a com m onality. Two of the gam es are set in the sam e post-apocalyptic area. One gam e was set in an underground research lab that has been abandoned, com pletely blocked off from hum anity. The scene was set after a hum an despising robot killed everyone present in the laboratory; while the other is about an alien takeover with an om nipresent protagonist spending the m ajority of the gam e alone. Both gam es are in 3D, so their m odels and m aps are supposed to be slightly eerie and m atch the overall them e of the gam e. Both Portal and Half-Lifeare very isolated in nature, causing their fanm ade m od to be of a sim ilar vibe.Garry?sMod could easily be one of the m ost im pactful sandbox gam es ever created. W hether intentional or purely circum stantial, the gam e wouldn? t be the way it is without the unforgettable am biance it gives off.
(Robert W hat)Canelo vs. GGG: The Decider
By: Omar ShoreibahSuper-fight trilogies are exceedingly rare in the sport of boxing. Two of the sport?s top athletes going head to head is rare in a single occurrence, but three fights between future Hall of Fame boxers is a historic series of events only emulated by a handful of storied rivalries. One of these is the most recent story line between Saul ?Canelo?Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin Canelo holds all super middleweight belts, the undisputed king of the WBA (Super), WBO, WBC, IBF, and The Ring belts Golovkin is king of the IBFand WBA (Super) middleweight titles. This final installation of the trilogy will be at super middleweight, so only Canelo?s belts will be at stake. But let?s take a step back, and watch the trilogy unfold, from the beginning
Ca and Golovkin first fought in 2017, a highly vaunted match up already due to the fact that both fighters were widely considered to be future hall-of-famers even at this point in their careers This was considered a super fight, and many expected an incredible fight, and both fighters put on one of the best shows of their careers, both displaying inch perfect technique, a pair of iron chins, and monstrous power. However, this fight went the distance, and though many thought it should have been given as a win to Golovski, the fight was decided to be a majority draw The second fight was much more controversial
After another 12 rounds of furious boxing, Canelo was given the majority decision, and again, most experts gave the win to Golovkin This is where the rivalry truly begins Burdened by the two decisions that he perhaps felt should have gone his way, Golovkin lashed out at Alvarez, stating that Canelo was a ?drug cheat?. This incensed Alvarez, releasing a statement during an interview; ?It?s personal for me? He?s two different people. He pretends to be a nice guy but he?s not, he?s an a ?.The two controversial decisions and subsequent heat between the two fighters set up the next bout nicely to be a decider for the trilogy The beef and decision based previous fights left fans needing a decisive victory to settle the rivalry. Which leads us to this most recent bout in the trilogy, the crowning moment for Canelo, and the last attempt at pulling both equivalency and vengeance in this rivalry for Golovkin.
Since the second fight, Golovkin has won four fights in a row, capturing the IBO and IBFfrom Ryota Murata, carrying some serious momentum for one of the most important fights for super middleweight gold. However, Canelo has recently attempted a move to light heavyweight, after winning eight fights in a row to unify every super middleweight belt. He lost to an incredibly sharp Dmitry Bivol, unable to succeed in a new weight class This most recent loss is not a good thing for Triple G as Alvarez is extremely motivated coming into this fight, and, as Eddie Hearn has told Sporting News, ?A focused Canelo can be a very bad thing for any opponent.?
Fight night arrived, Saturday, September 18, 2022, the T Mobile arena alive and filled to bursting On this hallowed night, Canelo silenced the doubters and put on a masterclass against Golovkin, beating him soundly over 12 rounds, a true legacy performance from Alvarez to secure a unanimous decision win to round out the trilogy, and perhaps cementing himself as one of the most prolific and greatest super middleweights in the history of this sport
?There is old wave, there is new wave, and there is Bowie.?
By Rania IqbalFrom his first self-titled studio album , David Bowie, to his last, The Gouster, Bowie has m anaged to influence artists from every genre. He took the world by storm with his out-of-the-ordinary fashion choices and album ideas, conquering the world while wearing ?fem inine? jum psuits and ?loud?patterns adorning his clothes. Along with his playful and at tim es som ewhat questionable m akeup, he was able to produce record breaking album s with out of this world concepts.
Bowie has proven to be a m ajor influence on m any artists that cam e after his tim e Robert Sm ith, the lead singer, guitarist and prim ary songwriter of The Cure said him self that during the process of songwriting for their album , Seventeen Seconds, he listened to five album s that would later influence their new sound, one of these album s being Low by David Bowie. Lol Tolhurst, the drum m er of The Cure, explained how the drum s in Low inspired their album 's sound ?We wanted to have that big sort of hole in the m iddle of the sound. We wanted som e nice high sounds and som e nice low sounds with this big space in the m iddle where the vocal inhabited.?And although m any artists went into inspiring the m aking of this new album , the clearest sound you can hear are the slight but significant traces of Bowie Along with The Cure, m any other artists have expressed their gratitude and the debt they owe to Bowie for being a m usical icon and inspiration to them Alex Turner from the Arctic M onkeys explained that they listened to a lot of Bowie while producing their fourth studio record, Suck It and See ?The Sm iths?guitarist, Johnny M arr said, ?David Bowie is easily the m ost influential and im portant artist to com e out of the UK, for so m any reasons ? there are m usicians who are influenced by him who don't even realize it ?After hearing about Bowie's tragic death, Kanye West tweeted out, ?David Bowie was one of m y m ost im portant inspirations, so fearless, so creative, he gave us m agic for a lifetim e?, further proving the influence Bowie had on artists from every genre.
Along with changing the world's view on m usic and being crowned with the title of the king of glam rock, Bowie's influence did not stop at m usic He slowly seeped into the world of fashion He used colourful and bright m akeup to switch to his m any alter egos. He used space-oriented m akeup and loud jum psuits in order to portray Ziggy Stardust, a rockstar sent to earth to save it before an apocalyptic disaster Ziggy's story is told through Bowie's fifth studio album , ?The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from M ars'' After Ziggy's era cam e to an end, Bowie decided to flip his aesthetic upside down and instead portray ?The Thin W hite Duke?by heavily slicking back his hair and wearing only two pieces from a three piece m onochrom e suit The Thin W hite Duke?s story was quite controversial as he had fascist leanings and had such an addiction to cocaine it was slowly killing him . Nonetheless, Bowie captured the presence of his alter egos alm ost perfectly, switching between Ziggy Stardust, The Thin W hite Duke, Aladdin Sane and M ajor Tom . All his fashion choices in each era always caused the fashion industry to stir He introduced new styles, new m akeup looks, and new everything. Bowie never hid from loud prints or bold m akeup instead he em braced it and wore it with confidence
Although Bowie's life story has com e to an end, he continues to live through the lives of every artist he has inspired, through every song he's written. Through m usic, whether it be a song from an artist who has been inspired by him or his own, David Bowie's legacy continues to live

CouldTay Midnightsbeth albu
ByYasminylor Swift's hesecondlost um?
Taylor Swift is notorious for giving her fans easter eggs and hints about her music, saying that she sometimes plans them years in advance. So it comes as no surprise that with the announcement of Taylor Swift?s new album Midnights, fans are going wild with theories and speculations.
The theory that everyone is talking about is that Midnights could possibly be Taylor's second lost album that was lost during the pandemic after Lover came out and before Folklore, which was a pandemic album like Evermore, which came right after. The first lost album is thought to be Loverfest, the ?side B?of Lover.
Taylor announced the new album on the VMA stage which is also where 13 years ago, Kanye West crashed her acceptance speech, announcing that Beyonce should have won. Taylor later said that she felt humiliated by that moment and it was the first event in a long feud between the two artists. This feud included Kanye calling Taylor a ?b***h?in his song, ?Famous?, and his wife, Kim Kardashian leaking a phone conversation between the two amid that fallout. After that event, Taylor disappeared for over a year before coming out with
Reputation.
And obviously, because Taylor never does anything by mistake, the dress she wore to the VMAs reminded fans of her ?Look what you made me do?music video in Reputation, calling it Taylor?s ?revenge dress.?That video was also said to be inspired by the dress Taylor wore to the 2009 VMAs when the feud with Kanye began, which leads fans to believe that she always planned to announce Midnights that night and that the album will have something to do with that incident. Swifties initially thought that the dress meant that Reputation would be the next re-recorded album but were pleasantly surprised when proven otherwise.
The album also comes out on Kim Kardashian?s birthday, which swifties believe to be intentional because of the history between the two and Kanye. Other than Kimye drama, fans still have hundreds of theories about Midnights. One that is being repeated quite a lot is that Taylor?s message on Instagram in her album?s announcement was a teaser to the album?s song titles. Swifties are all making their own assumptions about what those titles could be.
There is also speculation that the voice over at the end of ?Daylight,?could be what precedes the first song in Midnights, thinking that the continuation to that recording could be found in that first song. This also brings us back to the lost album theory in that Midnights could be what comes after Lover. This theory is mostly based on the fact that Lover was supposed to be called ?Daylight?but the name was changed after Taylor wrote the song ?Lover?in the middle of the night and that midnight is the opposite of daylight so obviously there should be a connection.
There are hundreds, if not thousands of other theories that Swifties have come up with and are coming up with as more information is being released about Midnights. Some of them are quite farfetched and others are on point. The only way to find out is by listening to the album at midnight on October 21st.

Ever since Disney+ dropped in the UAE in June, m any rejoiced at the idea of finally being able to watch their favorite shows and m ovies and discover new content Since the release of the stream ing service, I?ve spent an unhealthy am ount of tim e on the platform rewatching som e of m y favorites and finding new ones.
Therefore, m y obscene am ount of tim e on Disney+ beckons one question and one question only: what?s worth the watch?
1. Only Murdersin theBuilding
Starring Selena Gom ez, M artin Short, and Steve M artin - Only Murdersin theBuilding is arguably one of the m ost riveting shows available on Disney+ right now The show follows M abel, Charles, and Oliver three strangers bound together by their love of true crim e and their apartm ent com plex - as they discover the truth behind the m urder in the building
Although the second season of the show just finished airing, I can confidently say that Only Murdersin theBuilding is one of the best shows I?ve seen in a while. The chem istry and com edic tim ing from Gom ez, M artin, and Short is one of the m ain selling points of the show and m akes for an entertaining watch Additionally, the m urder m ystery aspect is executed wonderfully, and the finale of season one is enough to m ake you contem plate your life for hours on end after finishing the episode.
If you?re looking for a binge able show filled with plot twists and loveable characters, Only Murdersin theBuilding is the show for you
2. High Fidelity
Although its second season was canceled by Hulu in August 2020, the 2019 rem ake of the 2000s m ovie High Fidelity is one of the m ost unique shows I?ve seen on TV recently Rob (Zoe Kravitz) is a record store owner in Brooklyn who?s had a series of unfortunate events in her love life. Each episode of the show revisits a past relationship of Rob?s, and through the use of pop culture and m usic, Rob attem pts to get over her one true love
The reason I love this show is that it?s just so real Rob goes through a lot of personal struggles that m any go through. Kravtiz?s translation of these real life struggles onto the TV screen allows for Rob to be a relatable character and allows the audience to see her as a friend rather than just a character. Additionally, the concept of the audience being a fam iliar face is carried throughout the show, for som e of the best m om ents are when Kravtiz breaks the fourth wall, speaking to the viewers as though they are fam iliar acquaintances
High Fidelity is the show for you if you want som ething quick and interesting that's filled with an am azing soundtrack and m any nostalgic and pop culture references
3. Abbot Elementary W ith it?s the second season currently in the m iddle of airing, it only m akes sense to start watching Abbott Elementary right now The show follows a group of teachers trying to m ake a difference for their students, except they?re in the worst public school in Philadelphia, have lim ited finances, and a shockingly underqualified principal
This show is one that has gotten a lot of praise since its release, and rightfully so. The show reflected real-life struggles in ways that m any sitcom s are unable to do Furtherm ore, the character developm ent and com edic tim ing of all of the characters is what sold Abbott Elementary to m e.
Originally, I was apprehensive about starting the show. I?d seen clips, and the show appeared funny, but I hadn? t heard m uch talk about it However, after watching it, I was wondering why people weren? t talking about it. The show is brilliant and unique in a refreshing way, and I?d highly suggest you watch the show before season two is done airing
4. Glee
One of the m ost controversial, iconic shows of our generation, Gleehas m ade its m ark on pop culture. The show follows W illiam Schuster (M atthew M orris) attem pt to restart the glee club at the high school where he teaches Despite no one in M cKinley H igh having any particular faith in the New Directions glee club, we watch as the unlikely group of students tackle com petition after com petition, m aking friendships and problem s along the way
In m y opinion, Gleeis one of those shows that you just haveto watch I?ve seen it twice, and som e of the covers from the show are in alm ost all of m y playlists There?s a fair am ount of dram a, com edy, and com ing-of-age m om ents in the show, and there are scenes that will (in full honesty) never leave your m ind
If you?re looking for som ething a bit m ore light hearted, and honestly a little bad, then I?d highly recom m end Glee
5 New Girl
M any people?s hearts were broken when New Girl was taken off of Netflix, and I know that for a fact because I was people. The show follows a group of room m ates: Jess (Zooey Deschanel), Nick (Jake Johnson), Schm idt (M ax Greenfield), and W inston (Lam ore M orris), who tackle adulthood with the help of one another.
The show is brilliant because each of the characters is special in their own way. Jess, with her teaching debacles and oddly optim istic viewpoint on life. Nick, who, despite only being in his 30s, m ight as well already be a grown m an Schm idt, with his overly high-m aintenance lifestyle and flair for dram atics. And W inston, the im m ature but hilarious troublem aker

The m ajority of the characters, however, adhere to the clichés com m on to this genre, m aking this a Netflix production that really needs som e creativity It does have potential, and a few of the characters hint at intriguing storylines, but the m ajority feel underdeveloped, which detracts from the film 's plot The protagonists of this narrative are a group of young friends who are visiting Riccione, an Italian seaside town, for their yearly vacation. Treats & Sweets
By Hannah FierceAs the temperature begins to drop and the summer sun begins to cool off, the festivities begin to commence. From Halloween and Diwali in October to Christmas in December, the end of the year is packed with tons of fun. Whether that means seeing family, spending time with loved ones, or having the holiday to yourself, you always need to eat. So I?ve picked out a treat and a sweet to suggest to those who haven? t tried these before! I hope to encourage people to cook or bake outside of their comfort zone while making delectable food.
Treats & Sweets the Gyoza!
My suggested treat is the gyoza. Whether or not you?ve made one before, you?ve most likely eaten one. Traditionally, a typical gyoza filling consists of ground pork, cabbage, garlic, chives, sesame oil, and homemade wrappers. I?ve edited the usual recipe slightly to be more accessible for the parent and student body. You can buy almost every ingredient on the list at Carrefour for around 65AED.
Treats & Sweets Peach Cobbler!
For our sweet treat: the peach cobbler. A sweet and savory dish, a casual comfort food-style dessert yet often presented formally. It's the best of both worlds! The crunch of the soft-yet-fulfilling crust and the sweet, fruity flavor makes it an exciting combination of palates. Cobblers can be made with various fruits, strawberry, blackberry, and peach being the most popular. Feel free to research the other variations and put your own spin on it! You can find and buy all the ingredients at Carrefour for around ~47.6AED (With canned peaches) or ~50.9AED (With fresh peaches)
Duration: 40-50 minutes.
Portion: ~10
Ingredients:
½ a cup of unsalted butter, melted
1 cup of flour
1 cup of white sugar
½ cup of white sugar (for syrup)
1 cup of milk
16 ounces of sliced peaches (canned is okay) canned ~10AED
Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F(175 degrees C)
- Mix flour, sugar, and milk together in a bowl until well combined. ONLY DO THESE STEPS IF YOU DIDN?T BUY CANNED PEACHES!
Prep your peaches by peeling the skin and pitting them, and prep a pan with water, bringing it to a boil.
Slice them into quarters, and place into a pan with the boiling water.
Using ½ a cup of sugar, pour it on top of the peaches and gently stir together until the liquid thickens.
- Remove it from the heat and after 5-10 minutes, pour it through a strainer until there are no more chunks left.
- Keep in a bowl for later
- Pour melted butter into a pan or a skillet, adding your flour-milk mixture over top
- Carefully pour peaches and syrup into the skillet on top of the flour milk mixture and butter, using a spatula to spread peaches. Make sure it?s spread evenly around the pan.
Bake in the preheated oven until the crust turns golden brown for 30 45 minutes. Carefully take the pan from the oven and let cool for about 10 minutes before serving!
AI Art and Manufactured Creativity
B y : H u m za B u k h a r iTheBasics:How AI Art can Exist
AI art as a concept is easy to wrap your head around, initially It is art put together by a program that can generate its own original images More complex, however, is how this art comes to be Rather than what one typically thinks of computer programs, algorithms take in several paintings and art pieces thousands in some cases and attempt to recreate a new image utilizing patterns, trends and points of significance seen throughout each piece Hence the term artificial intelligence Though a simple idea on its own, the connotations it carries is heavy, with potential consequences in the future.
AutomatingAbility
As one would expect from combining such polar opposites into one and so efficiently at that people have immediately come to both the attack and defense of the concept, with both sides bringing out considerable arguments as to the way in which this new tool should be utilized
In a recent post for the New York Times, author Kevin Roose reports on the reactions regarding Jason Allen, who won his state?s art fair via the use of an AI generated submission Though he technically won fair and square, the results still prompted extreme backlash online, with many calling the act that of cheating as the design was done by an algorithm with instructions, not a human who has honed their craft
The eruption of such criticism h led many to wonder whether or not this signals the beginning o the end of art, an eventual takeover that will make the effo of humans obsolete Simply pu this is not the case, at least currently. Though the presence AI art has been talked about heavily in the news, the actual existence of such programs capable of performing these actions are few and far between This, plus programing faults to tend to create works with jarrin properties, ones that simply cannot replace the skill of an artist Still, many remain wary o the existence of such tools, regarding them as potential threats to illustrators world rou in the future

Doesthiseven count as?art?,anyways?
Another question core to the criticisms against AI art is that it simply isn? t art in the first place. Critics say that for something to be considered ?art?it must be created with a message in mind, convey a concept or be made for a specific purpose All things that a coded program cannot do Of course, there?s an entire conversation to be had about what even is art in the first place, a heavily theoretical discussion that would inevitably detract from what the focus of our question is: Can machine learning generate art?For this, we will have to go back to a once equally controversial artform: photography.
A topic that began with the invention of the camera, (albeit) less so in today?s world is the validity of photography as an art A common argument made against the photographer?s favor is that a camera merely copies the world as we see it, while ?real?art is created as an interpretation of it. Another is that a camera can capture scenes with the click of a button, while ?real?art requires both the skill and time to produce a painting or drawing of the same scene an argument used against AI art, as well
Of course, there are differences between the comparisons being made here Though both machine learning programs and cameras require a higher level of skill to produce as the tools they are, cameras can be mass bought, and programs can be shared with the public to be freely used The separating difference, however, is the fact that the ?work?is done entirely by the program, whereas even if one has a high end camera, some learning is required to use it in a way that will grant truly impressive results
Returning to the primary point, it can be deduced that under the standard of what many consider art to be, AI art is not art. However, it can? t be denied that many of the images created by these programs are undoubtedly beautiful, if albeit prone to mistakes From an aesthetic, purely visual perspective, AI art is art. But when considering the intent, meaning, and emotions from which art is generally considered to require, machine learning simply cannot replace human ingenuity

The Future of the ATP
By Zayaan RazaRoger Federer, Novak Djokovic, and Rafael Nadal have been known as the Big Three in the world of tennis for nearly two decades, as collectively they have accumulated over 60 major titles since 2003 However, their era of domination is most definitely coming to an end The fan favorite Federer recently retired from the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP)at 42 years old, after a 24 year long career.Age is catching up with the other two as well, with Nadal being 36 and Djokovic 35
In a major highlight for the ATP, Federer played his last match at the Laver Cup in England a couple of weeks ago, where he was given an emotional send off in a magnificent ceremony that shattered the hearts of many tennis fans.Contemporaries like Nadal and Djokovic were there to bid him farewell in a touching display of sportsmanship where it was evident that their own retirement announcements were not too far away With the legendary Big Three on their way out, what does the future of the ATPlook like?
Only the Big Three, along with Andy Murray, have reached world No 1.However, in February this year, Russian player Daniil Medvedev became the first new person in 18 years to achieve world No 1.His success was followed by other younger players reaching for the top position. Currently, Spanish player Carlos Alcaraz holds the number one spot
"It 's been t he perfect journey, I'd do it all over again."
Alcaraz reached world No 1after he won the USOpen this year, beating Casper Ruud in the finals. At 19 years and 4 months old, he is the youngest world No 1in the history of the ATP.
Not only is Alcaraz performing exceptionally well, other young tennis players are too Francis Tiafoe and Karen Khachanov were also semi finalists, along with Ruud coming in second place in the USOpen Ruud wasn? t just the runner up in the grand slam final;he also achieved world No 2, going up five whole ranks
Alcaraz is only at the start of his career, yet he has already won six tournaments five just this year - including the 2022 USOpen.
Many have called these last two decades the Golden Era of tennis, but it is inevitable that it will be coming to an end very soon. With promising tennis players like Alcaraz starting to dominate the ATPtour, a new exciting era of tennis is about to commence

Formula 1 is one of the most popular motorsports in the world; it is approved and established by the Fédération Internationale de Automobile (FIA). The first ever race was in Silverstone, UK 1950. And then year by year new tracks were created in locations all over the world. The most popular tracks in F1 are Autodromo Nazionale de Monza, Circuit de Monaco, Silverstone, and Circuit de Spa Francorchamps There are ten teams and each team has two drivers There are only 8 races left in the F1 season So many different events have already happened, and soon enough they will come to an end Team Red Bull has won 12 out of 16 races so far
The Top Three current drivers are Max Verstappen (Red Bull) leading in the ranking with 335 points, Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) is second with 219 points, and Sergio Perez (Red Bull) rounds up the rankings with 210 points.
What to expect for the next r ace
The Singapore Grand Prix is one of the most challenging circuits on the calendar; each team will have a different strategy There is a high chance that many drivers will start off on soft tires, but they will only last for about ten laps. Mercedes has been using mediums for two thirds of the races, so we can anticipate that they will start off on mediums again. But there is a 60%chance of rain, so if there will be rain then the drivers will have to drive on Wet tires.
"Singaporehasfeaturesthat we'vestruggledwithin thepast. Theshort straights, theslow, tight corners, andthebumpy surfaceall maketheMarinaBay Street Circuit oneof thetrickiest tracksof theseasonfor us?
TotoWolff
It may seem that Max Verstappen will win the title, and the Singapore Grand Prix will make the decision; for Verstappen to be still in the lead and have the highest chances of winning his second WDChe needs to place P1, and Leclerc needs to place P9 or lower. Or Max needs to place P1 and get the fastest lap, so then Leclerc needs to place P8 or lower for Verstappen to secure the second title. But if that won't be the case then Leclerc will still be in the battle and could have a chance to win his first title. We will have to wait and see on the 2nd of October 2022.
What t o Expect From t he Toront o Rapt ors This Season
By Moham ed DayehThe Toronto Raptors have always been the underdogs, but that hasn't stopped them from taking down championship teams and winning an NBA Championship. Last year the Raptors went 48 34 and landed the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference but lost in the first round of the playoffs Most sportsbooks have predicted that the Raptors will win 45 5 games this season, which is slightly less than the amount they won last year The Raptors have eclipsed all odds since 2012 apart from the 2020 2021 season known as the ?Tampa tank ?
The 2021 NBA draft was one of the best drafts for the Raptors in history After the worst season since 2011, the Raptors received the fourth overall pick in the draft They then drafted Scottie Barnes, who would immediately make a huge difference in the team and became a starter. Barnes averaged 15.3 PPG, 7.5 PRG and 3.5 APG which led him to winning the Rookie of the Year Award The other main players which led the Raptors were all NBA team player Pascal Siakam and first time all star Fred VanVleet who both averaged over 20 points.
During the offseason, the Raptors were first linked with one time MVPKevin Durant, but he then decided to stay at the Brooklyn Nets Although this probably would have been a blockbuster trade, the Nets were asking for Scottie Barnes, and the Raptors didn't want to give up their young star, who is the future of the organization The Raptors then went on to draft Christian Koloko, a 7 ft forward/center. For their free agency the Raptors re signed Chris Boucer and Thaddeus Young for a total of 51 million dollars However, the Raptors' $12 million, two year contract with NBA champion Otto Porter Jr in 2022 will make the largest headlines Last season, Porter Jr resurrected his career with Golden State, demonstrating that he was still a key player for a team that was contending for the championship.
Rafferty/sportingnews.com Calum Roche/as.comThe Raptors have always had a nontraditional lineup, preferring three tall, versatile and strong forwards rather than playing with two forwards and a center This explains why the majority of the lineup and bench are between 6ft 7 and 6ft 11, without an actual center player. The raptors will have lots of advantages this year with the way their games are scheduled This season, the Raptors will play 21 games with a rest advantage, which ranks sixth in the NBA This means they will have more rest than their opponents frequently They also are tied for the least back to back games in the league this season with 12 Finally, the Raptors will rank second last in the league in distance traveled, only behind the Cavs
Aaron Rose/si.comEven though the sportsbooks think the Raptors will regress a bit from last year, with the advantages they have, their new players and stars from last year, I predict they will have a good season and maybe even a playoff run

By: Leah TannerBum per stickers are great for adding a bit of color to your car. They can show a part of your personality! It is also a great way for fam ilies to m ake sure they are walking into the right car So why can having bum per stickers be such a danger?
Bum per stickers can give away a lot of inform ation about you; for exam ple, the fam ily stickers that you see around on the back of cars Just at a glance, you now know that John and Kelly have three kids: Jack, Jill, and Penelope. You also know that Jack plays baseball, so the whole fam ily will be out on Sundays cheering him on at his weekly gam e You also know that they own a dog called Coco.
Hypothetically, if som eone wanted to steal som ething from your house, they would have a vague idea when the house would be em pty This person would also have a pre warning that there is a dog present in the house. In this exam ple, John works in the arm y This would indicate to som eone that there isn? t a m ale figure to protect the fam ily all the tim e.
The com pany that creates these stickers is called M y Fam ily Stickers. The owners of this com pany received som e com m ents about how these stickers could be potentially dangerous
M onica Liebenow replied saying that ?they are harm less stickers and they are put on cars with a great intention by people who want to express their fam ily pride I really don't think that is how any would be robber is going to figure out their next victim . "
In a post from the Newnan Police Departm ent (NPD), a com m enter shared: ?[I h]ad m y son, a first grader, at the m all and a m an cam e up to m e and told m e how 'beautiful' he [was] then proceeded to tell m e that he knew where he went to school because of the honor sticker on m y car which he had to have seen when I parked?. This would be very scary to hear from a stranger The com m enter went on to say, "[t]hen he told m e all 'anyone' would have to do is go to the school, wait, follow him hom e and he's gone. I went hom e and took the sticker off m y car and kept all future stickers in a scrapbook " (Anglesey et al )
In Kentucky, M ississippi, Alabam a, Louisiana, and Tennessee, two out of three people have at least one bum per sticker This is according to a survey by Cheap Car Insurance In the Great Lakes region and Western U S , one out of two people have at least one bum per sticker. (Hoel and Kem pken)
Ch u r ch / M osqu e Sti ck er - You go to church on Sundays, or to the m osque on Fridays. Dangerous because it gives people an idea of when you would be out of the house.
?Bar bi e D r ove a Jeep too? M ost likely a lady driving a jeep ~ Dangerous because wom en are easier to grab than m en
Sch ool bu m p er sti ck er You are m ost likely proud of where you go to school ~ Dangerous because it lets people know who you are and where you go to school
Sp or ts Sti ck er s Your fam ily enjoys sports and goes to weekly gam es to support you ~ Dangerous because people can figure out if there is a tim e when all of the fam ily is out of the house at a weekly m atch
Vacati on Sti ck er s You and your fam ily m ost likely visit this place often on vacations ~ Dangerous because it lets people know that you and your fam ily will be gone for long periods during winter, sum m er, or any other holiday. uy
Bum per stickers are great to decorate your car; however, m any police forces have warned people about how m uch inform ation you are giving away You should ask yourself, do I want everyone in the world to know this about m e or m y fam ily? There are safer ways to have a cool-looking car that also has a m eaning or a personal connection with your fam ily. For exam ple, a Facebook user com m ented: ?M y fam ily sticker decals are Star Trek characters, so I guess they can assum e we're Andorian, Isis, Capt Kirk, Spock, and Uhura and that we're away exploring the final frontiers of space quite often ?
Russia and Ukraine:
By: Mahad Rahmanwe get too hasty, we need to know what has been happening in Ukraine
ost people will already know, but others are not aware of what?s going on, so let?s sum this conflict up. On February 21, 2021, the Krem lin started building up troops, and Western satellites showed m ass arm or and other weaponry the Russian?s am assed on the border with Ukraine Fortunately, the Russian troop num bers dwindled in June of 2021 Then, another buildup happened and this tim e there were m ore troops on the Ukrainian border than Russia had used to annex Crim ea. Russian officials denied any allegations of a war on Ukraine, claim ing that it was a ?training exercise?, until they launched the attack in February 2022 (W ikipedia )
Now that we know how the war started, what happened during the war?Well, Ukrainian President Volodym yr Zelenskyy was pleading for international help and eventually got this help from the United States and other European countries, which sent m uch needed supplies. W ith this help, Ukraine was able to hold off Russia for a while and even took back som e territories which were lost during the initial phase of the attack.
the
What is going on
ith both nations?
Recently, Ukraine has been giving a strong offensive, while the num ber of Russian troops has been slowly decreasing The Krem lin has also lost a pretty big portion of its econom y due to sanctions from European nations and the US. Although, its currency hasn? t been too badly dam aged considering Russia?s own network of trade with countries such as China and m ost of the other Asian countries, which have always been close with Russia. This has saved the country from going into total econom ic turm oil Com panies from the West such as car m anufacturers, like Tesla and Nissan, and tech developers, such as Apple and M icrosoft, have all also closed their locations in Russia
Today, Ukraine has slowly started taking back its form er cities and has m ade shocking discoveries from the Russian occupation such as ?m ass burial sites of Ukrainians? (AP News) This has shown the world how bloody this war is, and the extent of casualties inflicted as well In other news, Russia has also been facing som e political tensions, with som e politicians ?suddenly passing away? after talking about how unnecessary and violent the conflict with Ukraine is.
A good exam ple of harm inflicted upon Russia for its war is in its falling currency and econom y Although som e people m ay not realize, this war is going to play a crucial role in diplom acy around the world.
W ith Russia battling Ukraine, other countries such as Lithuania, Estonia, and Finland have also started to secure their borders In fact, Finland and Sweden had applied for NATO m em bership due to the Russian invasion, which has left the whole world surprised considering the fact they have always had a neutral policy and weren? t ?joining any sides? This war has already started to change the dynam ic of European politics and security for a long tim e and will start to create divisions not just in Europe, but even in the whole world A good exam ple of this is Asian countries continuing their trade with Russia after m any days of the West trying to convince them otherwise. They have decided to stay neutral in the em bargo against Russia and are still trading today for com m odities such as oil
T o su m i t all u p , th i s w ar betw een Ru ssi a an d U k r ai n e d oes n ot on ly h ave d ow n si d es f or th e tw o cou n tr i es, but it has changed the whole dynam ic of Europe and has brought security of the continent into question as countries are arm ing them selves for defense, som ething which hasn? t happened for a long tim e This event will forever change European ?security?and diplom acy

By:Lexy Cr awfor dSeason One athletics is back! Luckily, this year almost all COVID restrictions have been lifted, so we are all coming into this new season with a positive mindset. In this article, I surveyed and then interviewed athletes and those working behind the scenes
As usual, the Season One sports are Dance, Golf, Varsity/JV Swimming, and Varsity/JV Volleyball So far, tryouts have been held and most first games have been played. The results are as follows:
JV Boys Volleyball vs DAA: 2 1
JV Girls Volleyball vs. DAA: 1-2
Varsity Boys Volleyball vs DAA: 2 1
Varsity Girls Volleyball vs. DAA: 1-2 (Golf results shared with individuals)
All teams played great no matter the outcome, and it was amazing to see the community come together and support those who were on the court (or pitch!). Even after walking away with a loss, the JV Girls Volleyball team had smiles on their faces and said they were proud of how they played together, especially because it was only the first week of playing as a team.
As happy as we all are to be back, it took a lot of work to get here. COVID definitely was a disappointing blow to the athletics community. The interviews revealed the tremendous amount of work it takes to bring back athletics and provide a great start to the season.
?We felt that loss of community not only with our student-athletes, but with our greater community.?
- Mark Buschini
Mr Buschini, Head of Athletics, talked about the ways COVID restrictions impacted ASD athletics. Wearing masks, fewer practices, and not being able to participate in MESAC were just some of the disappointments Sophomore and JV Boys Volleyball player Daniel Walsh explained that the ?masks were annoying?, and it was hard to play games without the cheering from the crowd in the stands The hardships of masks and a silent or empty crowd was a common theme among the survey respondents.
?We are feeling very excited and optimistic going into the sports season.?
-Mark Bushcini
It is pretty common knowledge that not just athletes, but everyone is happy to be going into a more ?normal? sports season. Traveling, bringing back MESAC, and additional weekly practices are some of the pre-COVID activities planned by the athletics department And the athletes are on board!
Source: ASD AthleticsInstagramWhile everyone is enthusiastic about competing again, most are just happy to be back with their team Many athletes in the survey wrote about how they missed the team spirit, the camaraderie. All are glad it?s back, and I couldn? t agree more I am on the JV Girls Volleyball team and it?s my first time doing a school team sport. The best parts for me have been making friends, supporting my teammates, and just that feeling of being a team player
Overall, as a school community, we are thrilled to be back to normal; additionally, we hope these relaxed guidelines and this enthusiasm continue into seasons two and three
?I am looking forward to having more games with more people being able to watch!?
Natalie Haddad
?The teams are looking lively and ready give it their best.?
- Daniel Walsh

Before sharing m y opinions with others, I went to interview one of the baristas that works at the cafe. As I was waiting in line, the teacher in front of m e asked the barista if she could m ake her an iced coffee, but she told the teacher they were not available This reveals that students aren? t the only ones who have been m aking this request

Of course, getting an iced coffee in the m orning is som ething that I would look forward to at school, but m y conversation with the barista m ade m e realize that the lack of equipm ent and space is part of the reason why we cannot. Get fready or your senior year
By: Lel ah El Shafaeof
Senior year is the most important year of high school. It's the year of life decisions, hard work, and figuring out who you aspire to be,but something students tend to forget when consumed in all those decisionsis to live thisyear to the fullest. This may sound cheesy, but you only get one senior year, and although it can be a stressful year, it is also your last year of a chapter that has been opened for almost your entire life.I advise you to live it right.Don't let your comfort zone deceive you into thinking that feeling secure is joy;sometimes it is the opposite.
Creating a senior year bucket list is a perfect way of getting started on setting your goals for the year. These goals may be academic, personal or new habits you would like to maintain. These goals can range from wanting to go all out for spirit week to watching the sunrise at the beach; find things that will bring you happiness whilst helping you become the best version of yourself.
Although senior year may have plenty of challenges, and students might find it stressful sometimes, there are many events that are here to boost your motivation and to make you feel celebrated. The SGA?sgoal thisyear is to try to have at least one event per month to give seniors celebrationsto look forward to.Here is a glimpse of the schedule of events to expect thisyear.

How Milan becamea Fashion Capital
By:LeannaAbdelnourMilan is currently known as the fashion capital of Italy, and it is home to many of the biggest designer fashion brands such as Armani, Bottega Veneta, Dolce & Gabbana, Miu Miu, Moschino, Prada, Valentino, and Versace. Not only that, but Milan also hosts Milan Fashion Week twice each year, which is a very important and anticipated event for fashion enthusiasts Milan has had a prominent position in the fashion industry throughout much of history, which began many years ago during the Renaissance
In the past, fashion trends were set by the monarchy as everyone wanted to dress as luxuriously as they did in order to signify their place in the social hierarchy. During the Renaissance both females and males dressed lavishly with women wearing over-the-top clothing, jewelry, and makeup, while men wore brightly colored tunics featuring embroidery (?How Did Milan Become the Fashion Capital of Italy? Context Travel?) During this period Milan, Florence, and Rome began creating their own textiles, such as velvet, wool, and silk, which marked the beginning of the competitiveness of the fashion scene in Italy Rome and Florence?s competitiveness within the textile industry brought both cities more importance in the fashion world. This set the stage for Milan to emerge as Italy's fashion capital, and its increasing prominence in the fashion industry led to the beginning of Milan Fashion Week
In 1958, the first Milan Fashion Week was hosted by Camera Sindacale Della Moda Italiana, where designers and fashion brands presented their collections on the runway, as well as, within exhibitions Then, after 1961 when Milan became the headquarter for Vogue Italia, Milan?s fashion scene began inspiring many different fashion trends But, the event that epitomized Milan Fashion Week was Versace?s 1991 show, which featured Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington, and Linda Evangelista; the models showcasing Versace?s designs embodied intimidation, inspiring the rise of many other fashion houses like Gucci (?A Brief History of Milan Fashion Week?). Towards the end of the 20th century, many Milanese brands and designers gained popularity and an increased importance in the fashion world, like Moschino, Dolce & Gabbana, and Prada (?A Brief History of Milan Fashion Week?)
Throughout history, Milan?s position in the fashion world has increasingly gained importance, with some of the most influential fashion brands and houses being based in Milan, and Milan Fashion Week being held in the city twice a year Milan standing next to Paris, London, and New York, and being known as the ?Big Four?in the fashion world is recognized for its incorporation of luxury, art, and Italian culture into its fashion scene The city has claimed a reputation for hosting the most glamorous Fashion Week out of the Big Four, which only further demonstrates Milan?s distinction in the fashion industry.

M A SK GL A SSES
Brands like Dior and Saint Laurent have m ade it clear that the over sized glasses that cover half your face have transform ed from tacky to tasteful. To achieve that runway m odel-off-duty look, these glasses could com e in clutch. W hen wearing a plain and sim ple outfit, adding these glasses to your outfit would not only m ake you look like a celebrity on their way to Pilates but will also protect your eyes from the sun.

Headphones as an accessory?
Yes, it is hard to believe, but as AirPods were in fashion a few years ago, so are headphones now. W hether you?re wearing them around your neck or on your head, they still give off that effortless and cool look.
W hether you?re styling Beats and the new Airpods m ax or lesser-known headphones, they?re still fashionable accessories.

Dressing m odestly yet com fortably in the Dubai heat can be as challenging as solving any m ath equation. This is especially true since in the last few fall seasons thick and heavy leather pants and jeans have been dom inating fashion trends. Lightweight parachute pants provide a casual look when styled with a sim ple top but can also be elevated and dressed up depending on the accessories m atched with them . The M et Gala is som ething the fashion industry looks forward to each year, especially since som e of our favorite celebrities attend this event. It allows us to see the people we love doing the thing we love and overall it?s just a fun experience to watch and hopefully be part of one day.
The event was staged to honor the launch of Part Two of the sam e exhibition, ?In Am erica: An Anthology of Fashion,?and this year?s them e carried over from last year. By showcasing storylines connected to the intricate and m ulti-layered histories of those sites, this exhibition section traces the evolution of Am erican fashion.
An interviewer at the M et Gala claim ed that this them e led to som e am azing fashion m om ents, which included Kim Kardashian slipping into M arilyn M onroe's m ost fam ous dress, Blake Lively being unwrapped to reveal her second dress on the M et steps, several stars nodding to the past with sequins, tulle, and corsets, while we also saw som e seriously dram atic headpieces.
The M et Gala is quickly becom ing the place to see Kim Kardashian. Everyone can agree that she had the m ost creative and thoughtful outfit there. Kim m ade headlines for a very different reason: she wore the fam ous dress M arilyn M onroe wore in 1962 when she sang "H appy Birthday M r. President" to John F. Kennedy. The dress was originally by Jean-Louis, and Kardashian had to lose weight to get into it because it couldn't be altered. To really com m it to the appearance, she also had her hair colored the infam ously golden blonde of M arilyn M onroe
The custom Versace outfit worn by Gigi H adid, who m ade a striking debut, was another ensem ble that was all about volum e. The superm odel paired a m assive, floor length puffer coat with a burgundy latex catsuit.
For the 2022 M et Gala, Jessica Chastain went for classic glam our, which was obviously perfect for the occasion. The actress accessorized her look with a m atching headpiece and a burgundy Gucci gown with dram atic sleeves.
The M et Gala is known for its outrageous fashion statem ents, which Blake Lively fully em braced on M onday night when she arrived in one gown and later unwrapped her dress on the M et's steps to reveal another one underneath. The blue highlights paid hom age to the Statue of Liberty, while the golden design represented the Em pire State Building, both of which were influenced by the architecture of New York City.
TheRiseof The60s
BY:NADIA SIDANIsource:refinery29
We have all heard the infam ous phrase, ?history repeats itself?; however, we som etim es fail to rem em ber that fashion trends are arguably the m ost repetitive in following historical trends. Up until last year, we saw a reem ergence of Y2K fashion: low rise jeans (to our dem ise), shoulder bags, and baby tees were everywhere. In the m id 2010s, we saw a reem ergence of ?90s fashion trends with m om jeans and oversized graphic tees Now, as we settle into the 2020s, we are indulging in the style of the ?60s
Arguably one of the m ost pivotal pop culture m om ents that prom pted the ?60s style trend would be Ariana Grande's album : Positions Ariana is notorious for associating a central them e with her album s, cleverly dubbed ?eras? In the Positionsera m usic videos, she em ulated iconic 60s accessories such as thick liner, pleated skirts, neutral tones, and replacing her iconic long ponytail for a short flip hair do As a style icon, Ariana Grande definitely established a strong foundation for future 60s trends to m ake their way
Now, we see m any other celebrities whose 60s style m ade them m ore noticed and appreciated such as Lana Del Rey Lana could be best described as the m odern day reincarnation of Priscella Presley with patriotism , troubled wom anhood, and rebellion as her characteristics The m usician has a niche for songs that you would typically see in an ?old m oney aesthetic?TikTok or an ?em bracing m y inner 60s girl?video. Her nostalgic tunes and sublim inal m isogynistic undertones (in the m ost weirdly com forting way possible) m ake listeners itch to transform into their inner 60s chick
Curtain bangs, no-m ake-up-m ake-up, and short nails are all attributes of the 2020s fashion quota that originated from 60s trends The vast em bracem ent of fem ininity was som ething that was prom inent in the 60s; albeit now wom en have significantly m ore rights, which m akes this the perfect tim e to reem brace fem ininity.

The Diary of Malta, written by Zoe Angelopoulos, is an im portant yet controversial docum ent. Discovered in 1917 am ong the possessions of Duchess Julia Francesca Anna Busca Risch, the Italian language historical docum ent is deem ed as a m ajor source for the life of wom en in the early to m id 1800s
The Diary of Malta contains exactly 100 interm ittently written entries of different lengths. In addition, the diary includes four letters and nine photos. Aside from being a wonderful historic account, the Diary of Malta is also a key docum ent for sociologists Since 1922, the diary has been translated m ore than sixteen tim es from its original Greek version.
This 100 year anniversary version of the diary is m arked with special com m entaries and notes: the introduction is written by Professors Theodore Sim m ons and Luisa Zhao, respectively of H arvard and Yale University The afterword is penned by Antonio Risch, who is Julia?s great grandson.

Frankly speaking, the Diary of Malta, is m ore than a piece of historical docum entation m andatory for high school and college students to read for their classes.
Us readers often forget the original purpose of this writing. We forget that these long passages once held the aspirations of som eone We forget that these neat paragraphs once were the lives of som eone. We forget that these endless words were written by once living and breathing figures.
But we m ust rem em ber that the Diary of Malta was and is the testam ent and witness to the lives of three people: Zoe Angelopoulos (1817 1887), Julia Francesca Busca (1818-1857), and Albert Risch (1817-1877). These three were from vastly different backgrounds. Julia Francesca was the youngest child and only daughter of Antonio Busca, a rich M altese m erchant; Zoe was the youngest in a Greek im m igrant fam ily of seven; Albert was the sole child from a line of bankers
Zoe began writing the Diary of Malta in late 1833, when she began her service as Julia Francesca?s lady?s m aid in Valletta. Her diary concluded with her lady?s death in 1857. There is absolutely no doubt that the two young ladies cared for each other passionately
The relationship between Zoe and Julia Francesca was not affected by Julia Francesca?s m arriage to Albert Risch. In fact, Albert appreciated and loved Zoe as fiercely as his wife H istorians believe that Zoe served as a personal m ediator and advisor for the couple and perhaps had m ore say in their decisions than actual advisors
W hen Julia Francesca died in 1857, Zoe rem ained with the Risch fam ily She was the m other figure to the growing Risch children and raised the children of her brother Adonis, who died in a skiing accident along with his wife Zoe?s increasing fam ilial duties did not m ean that she stepped back from decision m aking Albert relied on her wisdom heavily after Julia Francesca?s death Despite being a wom an with no form al education and no background in business, Zoe served successfully in 1861as the de facto head of the Risch Banking Corporation while Albert recovered from a m ajor operation
Albert died in 1877, and Zoe left the Risch fam ily and im m igrated to Thessaloniki, Greece. During her retirem ent, she was visited by the Risch children and her fam ily often Zoe died peacefully in her sleep in 1887The true character and extent of their relationship is of m uch debate in recent years But whatever it was, it does m atter for us readers to read the lives of these fascinating people through the Diary of Malta.

1 Signore Busca disowned his eldest son, Signore M arco M arco was supposed to com plete his education in France, yet he spent all his tim e there in brothels and bars. Lost all his m oney in the process. Signore Busca was furious when his son showed his face to dem and m ore m oney Now he is no longer a m em ber of the fam ily, and all of us (including servants) are allowed to address him as M arco No Nam e.
2 Signore Julia had another suitor com ing to M alta He didn? t even m ake it through dinner: Signore Busca invited him out as soon as he openly announced his intentions At this rate no one would ever com e again
3. Signore Busca?s younger sister, Signora M aria, cam e to visit. She is an uptight wom an who dem ands everything to be perfect Yells at us servants all the tim e (to the point that Signore Busca paid us double this m onth) Everyone hates her, including her own niece.
4. M y oldest sister began courtship with the town doctor?s son. They get along a bit too well. M am a says ?these violent delights have violent ends.?Signora Julia says that it is from Shakespeare
In addition, Signore Busca decided to visit his hom e in Rhodes instead of France.
VallettaM arco No Nam e was killed yesterday Three bullets and five knife wounds The m urderer surrendered him self directly to the police
Police says the m urderer was hired by som eone in his gam bling circle. M arco No-Nam e owed his ?friends?lots of m oney
Signore Busca refused to bury his form er son in the fam ily m ausoleum . Even Signora could not change his decision H is body is now in the public cem etery

Athens
Signora Julia left for Athens yesterday I went along (I have to) Signora Julia has no talent with languages (and did not understand a single bit of Greek).
This is the first tim e I visited Greece, yet I feel a sense of belonging and acceptance here I could speak our m other tongue freely; I could worship freely without the judgm ent of local Catholics and British Anglicans *
I cheekily brought Signora Julia to a Orthodox service She joked it was heresy for her **

Athens
Signora Julia traveled to Greece to represent her father in a series of trade negotiations
We had m ultiple businessm en over in the estate tonight. Thankfully they all spoke Italian
She handled the crowd gracefully, and the business deal was a success
Signora Julia is clever It is obvious to everyone that her father has the m ost faith in her out of all his children: he m ade sure she is well educated
M am a says it is inappropriate for wom en to learn and act like m en, but I think it is adm irable
I secretly want to be sm art, too.
Zoe
* M alta was prim arily Catholic However, there were Anglicans due to its status as a British colony
** Julia Francesca was a Catholic
Signora Julia and servants left for Rhodes this m orning to join Signore Rhodes We are currently on the ship. It is a disaster: Signora Julia is seasick.
So far around six hours into the journey, Signora Julia has already vom ited thrice (how is that possible) Right now she is asleep from exhaustion However, I am afraid she will wake up soon
M y lady is a very interesting person She is a wom an in a household of m en, but m ore capable and reliable than any of her brothers. She is rational and stoic, yet I have seen her lose control in m om ents of weakness She?s frustrated I often pretend not to hear her sobs, and I think she pretends to not hear m ine.1
There is a lot of speculation from historians regarding Zoe Angelopoulos?words The two m ost supported and accepted theories are below
1 Zoe?s m other, Cassandra Angelopoulos, was a serious alcoholic by today?s standards It was possible that Zoe and her siblings were abused under her care
2 From 1833 to 1834, Zoe began a whirlwind rom ance with Andrea (last nam e unknown), a footm an at the Busca estate The relationship was turbulent and destructive It is speculated that Andrea was physically and em otionally abusive towards Zoe He was never m entioned in the diary
Thessaloniki
Adonis and I were granted two weeks off by Signore Busca and Signora Julia We have no desire to return to M alta, at least not right now We decided to visit Thessaloniki This is where our parents were born, and then they im m igrated to M alta. For som e reason, they could not find any jobs in Greece For years, Papa and M am a described Thessaloniki (and Greece) as an evil, dangerous place *
I thank Signora for opening our eyes Greece is beautiful Thessaloniki is beautiful Adonis agrees. There are tall m ountains that were hom es once to the gods. Away from the m ountains is the boundaryless sea It sparkles under the sunlight like glittering jewels I feel happy here, I feel free I think I m ay return here perm anently one day I don? t care what Papa and M am a say.
But speaking of parents, I have received som e disturbing news from Astoria: M am a planned to m arry one of us off (not Adonis of course) to som e old m an It was supposed to be Sophia, but she eloped and ran away with the young town baker as soon as she heard the plans. Now M am a wants it for m e: I?m the pretty daughter with the job. I definitely can have children **
I don? t want to I want to live
I told Adonis earlier: he was furious (and apparently unaware). He said he?ll argue in m y favor He told m e very seriously to plead with Signore Busca or Signora Julia if we absolutely need to He says they are kind and understanding, and I think so too The Buscas are good people that I have faith in M ay God bless them ***
Astoria also wrote to m e in her letter that M am a is getting crazier and crazier each day. She loses herself to fury all the tim e She yells, scream s, cusses, and throws things around She also drinks m ore in our absence
I love M am a, but I have known for a long tim e that she is not perfect She is a cruel person to all her children. She beat us, hum iliated us, punished us in ways crueler than other parents
Lord, havemercy.
* It is well possible that the Angelopoulos parents had a crim inal record in Greece It is very possible that their original nam es were not Angelopoulos H istorians could not find any inform ation about Zoe?s fam ily in Thessaloniki
** Sophia was one of the Angelopoulos sisters It is unclear if she is the third or fourth oldest
*** Zoe wrote a letter soon after this diary entry to Julia Francesca when it becam e clear that her m other was serious about arranging a m arriage It is on the page following this entry This letter would be the first letter that the Diary of Malta contains

Zoe Angelopoulos to Julia Francesca Busca Risch
Written on August 24, 1834 Delivered on August 30, 1834
M y lady Julia Francesca, H appy birthday! M ay God bless you with a wonderful year.*
I com e to you with a situation at hand. M y m other plans to m arry m e off. The partner is three decades older than, widowed, and in dem and of lots of children Please help m e, m y lady
Thank you, Zoe Julia Francesca wasabletoprevent themarriagefrom happening in someway, although historianswerenot surewhat method wasused. Money?Force?Another mystery for thefuture generation tosolve.
* Julia Francesca was born on August 31, 1818
Novem ber 12th, 1834
Signora Julia went to see a m an in private today He lived in Lausanne at Placedela Palud H is nam e was Albert Risch, an am iable, polite young banker from a long line of bankers.*
Adonis drove our carriage to his apartm ent, but he was not perm itted to enter. I was preparing to stay in the carriage until Signora Julia gestured to m e to follow her
Inside the hom e was a well dressed young m an of lanky and tall physique and an aura of awkwardness H is apartm ent was luxuriously furnished in a different style com pared to the Busca estate. There is no doubt that he and Signora Julia were on the sam e social standing
Signora Julia and Signore Risch talked with each other for hours. They giggled, laughed, bantered? They acted like a pair of lovers, eyes glittering with excitem ent and deep understanding when their eyes m et each other.
For the first hour of the conversation, I stayed in the room on the side, ready if Signora Julia had any requests. Yet by the next hour, Albert gestured to his butler to guide m e to the kitchen, and Adonis joined soon after We shared a pot of tea and a plate of cookies In the kitchen we stayed until Signore Julia decided to leave
I asked her on the carriage back to our hotel regarding the nature of their relationship Signora Julia was silent for a few m om ents, before she spoke.
?He?s m ore of a brother than a lover. He is som eone that I trust, som eone I would not hesitate to share m y views with We are sim ilar in our nature, our values, our am bitions, and our perception of the world,?she m urm ured ?Yet if he asks, I would not hesitate to m arry him . He, I know, will treat m e respectfully. He will touch m e only with m y consent He will not restrain m e like m any do to their wives?**
I nodded It was deathly silent in the carriage, and all we could hear were horse hooves and indiscernible voices Signora Julia stared out of the window, and I averted m y gaze Suddenly, she cleared her throat and looked at m e I m et her gaze I could not decipher the look in her eyes: it was som ething I have never seen before.
?I care for Albert, I love him ? Yet m y heart will never fully belong to him , and him too ?
Zoe
* Albert Risch (1817 1877) was born in Lausanne, to a Swiss fam ily of bankers. He was Julia Francesca?s husband, lover, best friend, confidant, father of her children, and business partner The Risch couple was fam ous for having a scandalous lifestyle, and often shared lovers A photograph of Albert Risch from the Diary of Malta is available at the end of this part
** Julia Francesca m arried Albert Risch in 1839 They rem ained m arried until Julia Francesca?s death in 1857 Albert Risch did not ever rem arry
I apologize for m y inactivity
In the past year, a plague ravaged M alta. The Buscas left M alta im m ediately as soon as the epidem ic began to spread, with m e being one of the servants who were required to accom pany them . Adonis and Astoria stayed.*
W hat seem ed like a sim ple cold quickly spread through the island and took m ost people in its deadly em brace.
The effect and process of the disease was horrifying. It slowly liquifies the organs and m uscles of the sick At the start of the infection, patients would be shrieking and shaking and scream ing in pain. The last stage would be them lying frozen, eyes wide open and unm oving. Body liquified.
Every fam ily lost som ebody, including m ine.
M am a was one of the first deaths, the ones before the carnage truly began. She becam e sick in late M arch and died on the first day of April Then death cam e for m y oldest sister and her fam ily in early M ay Her doctor husband and father in law spread the disease to her and m y nieces. Everybody in the household died days within each other.
Sophia cam e back with two children soon after our oldest sister?s death. Her baker husband died from the plague; she was infected with the plague; her children were infected with the plague She died; her children were spared They are now under Astoria?s care. Adonis has caught the disease soon after Sophia?s death. He survived, but now has no hearing in his left ear He believes this is som ething sent straight from the depths of Hell
For the past year, I have been blessed by God Signora Busca, with his m oney and influence, locked-down Rhodes at the start of the epidem ic. At first, the locals com plained and protested; however, they changed their opinion soon after Rhodes did not see a single death during this tragedy
The epidem ic is nowhere near ending. God, please have m ercy.
Zoe
* The 1835 1838 M editerranean Epidem ic was a devastating epidem ic that killed m ore than nine m illion globally Furtherm ore, the epidem ic left another five m illion with various post illness conditions such as im paired hearing and long term fatigue It is believed that the epidem ic was caused by a particularly strain of the influenza virus

The death num bers are going down. Signora Julia says we m ay be able to leave soon. We have spent nearly two years on this island; Rhodes is beautiful, but this is too m uch for anyone to tolerate Signora Julia prom ised m e (and herself ) that we will not return to Rhodes unless absolutely necessary. I have a feeling that this oath will not be broken.
M y Duchess is planning to leave for Lausanne as soon as she gets the chance. For the past two years, she had little contact with Signore Albert
?It will be good to see an old friend again,?she m urm ured excitedly I snorted
?A friend, Signora. Pardon m y language, but that was a lie straight to Hell.?
Over the past two years, I adm it that m y m istress and I have gotten closer. We are not hesitant to address each other less form ally and understand each other better She taught m e how to read and write in Germ an, and I taught her how to sew
I believe we trust each other She insisted that I call her Julia or Francesca, or even Anna However, that is not an offer I will take up now. M aybe one day, but not now.

Signora Julia and Signore Albert decided to m eet up in Naples It is a place where they would not be recognized, where they could be free from their responsibilities and nam es. They wanted to see the city as a com m oner.
To be a com m oner, you m ust first dress like a com m oner. I m odified one of m y dresses for Signora Julia It is m ade of finer cotton than what is typically sold on the m arket (a benefit of serving the Buscas), but there are no elaborate patterns or shiny gold threads I also rem oved jewelry and only applied sim ple m akeup. M ost people can not afford that
In private, before they set off, I instructed Signore Albert?s footm an to follow those two carefully He com pletely understood The world is im patient and dangerous for ?coddled?aristocrats of society.
W hile Signora Julia and Signore Albert were exploring Naples, the servants organized a trip to Pom peii. There we saw these awful plaster casts of people who have lived long ago, who died in painful ways: suffocated by ash, killed by hot tem peratures, and buried alive under collapsing buildings and flying rocks.
At the end of the day, before we both retired to bed, I asked Signora Julia if she had a good day.
?The happiest,?she replied, ?but perhaps I would not do it again.?

Today was the first tim e I have seen m y fam ily since 1835. This m orning our ship from Naples arrived at the port I sent a letter previously before the journey to inform m y brother that I am com ing back hom e
Adonis and Astoria were waiting for m e at the port It was slightly em barrassing, but I bursted into tears when I saw m y siblings. We have our rows, but there is no doubt how m uch I love them
Signora gave m e a well m eaning sm ile, then turned away painfully The Busca fam ily has never gotten well together after her m other?s death She had her father and nobody else.
Zoe
Signore Busca hosted a New Year?s event at the Valletta estate to sever old ties and celebrate new beginnings The estate is full of fam ily and friends: (the detestable) Signora M aria, the Grand Duke of Baden and his fam ily (Signora Julia?s uncle), distant Busca relatives, and the entire Risch clan in all its m essy glory Signore Albert?s fam ily is peculiar and quite scandalous I?ll leave it there
The guests m ake it terrible for all the servants. There is always som ething going on. Just after I finished dressing one lady, I needed to dress another The Grand Duke would be dem anding breakfast in bed, and the Risch clan asking weniger Zucker for their tea. The bratty children scream ing for what they want All of the servants are losing their m inds For the first tim e since m y service I have disliked m y work
It does not help that these guests party insanely The never ending dem and for food, snacks, and alcohol until early m orning; wine bottles and cham pagne glasses in pieces on the floor (which is a m ess to clean up); drunk m en with weapons attem pting to duel each other?
Last night, an elderly French m an followed m e upstairs as I proceeded to Signora Julia?s quarters He cornered m e in the corridor and pushed m e onto the wall I could feel his hands running m y body up and down, lifting m y dress. I struggled, but he was twice m y size and I was nothing to him
?How does this feel, belle??he whispered in m y ear, breathing thickly with the sm ell of alcohol H is hand was on m y thigh, and began to squeeze m e when I did not reply I looked away, avoiding his eyes.
Suddenly, the m an was thrown off by another. A fist cam e down on his face, followed by another The m an attem pted to grab to block his attacker?s blows, yet I swiftly took a step back As soon as I was com pletely out of the way, all hell broke loose I felt a hand grab m y arm in the chaos: it was Signore Albert?s He guided m e up the stairs to Signora Julia?s quarters. He was just about to knock on the door when Signora opened them She took one look at m y tear stricken face, and pulled m e into the room I stayed in her room that night on her bed, with her body curled around m e, hugging m ine.
Thisentry concludespart oneof thediary. From thispoint onwards, Julia Francesca and Zoe havea significantly closer relationship, with Zoeaddressing Julia Francesca as?Francesca?often. ZoerespectstheRisch family strongly after thisencounter, and would grow closer with Albert.

Grind Oreos in a food processor to create tiny crumbs. Place the crushed Oreos in a medium bowl, then mix in the cream cheese until thoroughly blended. Add Snickers and Reese's and mix thoroughly. Use parchment paper to cover a baking sheet.
Create little balls out of the mixture using a little cookie scoop. Place on a baking sheet that has been prepared and freeze for 30 minutes, or until somewhat firm.
The white chocolate and oil should be combined in a wide microwave-safe bowl. After about two minutes of stirring until consistent, microwave until just liquefied. Utilize 10 drops of the green gel food coloring mixed within the white chocolate, then make sure to continue adding droplets until you get the preferred shade of green
Take a frozen ball and dip it into the green chocolate that has now been prepared. Completely cover it and then remove it with a fork while allowing the extra melted chocolate to drip back into your bowl Place it onto a baking sheet containing your parchment paper. Next, place an eyeball into the coated truffle's top side before finishing off with some sprinkles.

TRUMP MAKE HALLOWEEN GREAT AGAIN
By:MackenzieCooperWarning: Bad Behavior Ahead
Two long years ago,Donald J Trump orchestrated one of the worst attacks on American democracy in history. He ordered a mob of his supporters to viciously attack the Capitol Building at exactly 2:11pm to protest against the election results and to prevent the important Presidential transfer of power Watching the attack unfold live on TV was like someone played a sick trick on the American people the unthinkable became reality. Now,why did this attack even happen in the first place?. Its purpose was to deliver a message of fear and hate towards those who voted against Trump On that frightening day, an act of home grown terror was inflicted on the country .
Well that infamous day has now come to haunt Mr. Trump. This past summer,Americans were tuned into the January 6th Senate Committee hearings. People tuned in just like they did almost 50 years ago when another Senate Committee convened to discuss the dirty tricks of former president Richard Nixon known as Watergate Former White House aide and ?Whistleblower?Cassidy Hutchinson emerged from the shadows of the Oval Office and stepped forward to share her personal accounts of the activities in the While House on that scary day.
Liz Cheney, daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, was the lead Republican in the trial. "The sacred obligation to defend this peaceful transfer of power has been honored by every American president, except one,?she was quoted as saying,a powerful message, proving that Trump could not leave the oval office without a fight.
ith the Halloween season fast approaching, let's take a trip down South Ocean Boulevard and examine some of the skeletons in Former President Donald J Trump's closet (the ones we know about)
Following Mr. Trump's delivery of 15 boxes of records to the National Archives in January 2022,the criminal investigation got under way More than 150 documents marked as classified were discovered when archivists investigated the material;they then forwarded the case to the Justice Department Government records and assertions by Trump's attorneys indicate that the federal government made many attempts to get the secret materials from Trump before resorting to a search of his Florida property The three criminal violations listed in the search warrant as the basis of the investigation are obstruction, hiding or destroying official records, and the Espionage Act,which makes it unlawful to maintain secrets of national security Recently, Trump, his children, and a couple of his companies have been sued by the state of New York over fraud. A $250,000,000 compensation is being asked for his penalties. Trump released a statement on his media site,TruthSocial:?Another Witch Hunt by a racist Attorney General,Letitia James,?Mr Trump wrote, adding,?She is a fraud who campaigned on a ?get Trump?platform ?We are not new to Trump's harassment and inappropriate comments against people trying to defend
When there is a vacancy on the Supreme Court, the USpresident nominates a candidate, who is subsequently confirmed by the USSenate, the oldest being Chief Justice John G. Roberts, nominated by George W Bush In February 2016, former Associate Justice Antonin Scalia passed away, which meant there was an open spot for a new SCJ member Barack Obama stated that he should be the one to nominate the new associate justice, but Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell said it was the responsibility of the new president as Scalia died during the last year of Obama's presidency Unfortunately,McConnell won, which meant it was new president Donald Trump's pick. Trump chose Neil Gorsuch,an American lawyer who was a judge for the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. Then Brett Kavanaugh was appointed when Anthony Kennedy retired Most recently,Amy Coney Barrett was appointed when Ruth Bader Ginsburg passed away The irony of that situation is that Barrett and Ginsburg both believed in very different ideals. Ginsburg believed women had the right to an abortion, while Barrett had a completely different opinion.
Source: Bloody Disgusting Source: Bored Panda Source: BehanceDuring the long four years of Trump's presidency,he created policies and acts that not only contradicted what was already in place, but completely embarrassed the country in front of the rest of the world. Some of the laws and economic policies he put into place included individual and corporate tax cuts, efforts to repeal Obamacare, restrictions on immigration, deregulation of the energy and financial industries, protectionist policies During the Obama administration, one of the most controversial environmental regulations was put into place;WOTUS The rule's primary goal was to specify which waterways were subject to federal control. Then in 2015,the term was updated to include tributaries and nearby water basins that are near federal waterways The Trump administration tried to undo these modifications in 2017. The rule was then revoked in 2019,thereby turning back the definitions from the Obama administration Now,polluters will no longer need a permit to harmfully discharge dangerous substances into various wetlands and streams around the United States Now that is an environmentalist's worst nightmare. It is unbelievable that Trump had the nerve to try to undo Obamacare,WOTUS,immigration laws, and inplace corporate tax cuts Don't even get me started on ?I would build a great wall ?
Unfortunately, there is not enough room in my article to write about every Trump trick or skeleton in his many closets (at Trump Tower,Mar-a-Lago,etc?.). Not to worry, the U.S. Department of Justice has it covered with the investigation of the Top Secret Documents and the conclusion of the January 6 Committee.
These investigations will make every Republican feel like Dr. Frankenstein when he realizes the horrible mistake he made in bringing his monster to life and there is nothing he can do to stop it Americans have been sitting through a never ending horror film with goosebumps, heart racing, nail biting, waiting for the next demon to appear.
No doubt the American people will continue to find skeletons in the Trump closet for years to come Just like Freddy Kruger,it may seem like we will never get rid of him but in the end the good guy always wins.....unless there is a sequel.

HHorrifyingThree Three M ost
As you get older the purpose of H alloween shifts away from getting spooked, yet the iconic horror m ovie villains we?ve grown up on never stop being terrifying H alloween allows the m ost twisted m inds to conjure up the m ost haunting characters that stay with you for m onths after October W ith rem akes and sequels, H alloween is the tim e when directors reignite the chilling villains they have created, and viewers get the chance to terrorize their m inds once m ore before the year is over.s
Clowns are classic villains; they teeter on the edge between being entertaining and terrifying, yet there is no question where Pennywise lies on that spectrum . In the IT m ovies, Pennywise is horrifying and iconic, in both the original and rem ake, due to his ability to alter the children's perceptions of the world Trapping their m inds into thinking their biggest fears have com e true allows for a new dim ension of terror for both the characters and viewers. Also, watching the eerie sm ile plastered along Pennywise's face as he threatens to eat children is horrifying within itself. The com bination of psychological torm ent and a sinister outward appearance allows Pennywise to be rightfully classified as one of the scariest H alloween villains of all tim e
Going back to a H alloween staple, M ichael M eyers in the m ovie entitled Halloween is a classic exam ple of an iconic villain. M eyers keeps it sim ple with only a m ask and a butcher's knife, yet his lack of rem orse when he kills shows the true sinister side of the character Unlike Pennywise, he does not have the physical appearance that horrifies viewers straight off the bat, yet M icheal M eyers is portrayed as the em bodim ent of pure evil, and his lack of em pathy is what creates the chilling atm osphere of the film . The unsettling elem ents of the character are exem plified by how m ethodical M eyers is He is ghostly and lingers m uch longer than necessary around his victim s to extract the utm ost pleasure from each kill The om inous nature of M ichael M eyers is what heightens the fear of the audience as they watch him creep along their screen.

Another classic villain is Ghostface, one whose identity has changed a m ultitude of tim es in the Scream franchise, yet the gruesom e streak that com es with the character never derails. The bludgeoning kills and excessive gore that goes hand in hand with the character is what creates the m asterful Ghostface A successful horror m ovie villain is the com bination of m anipulation of the psyche as well as brutal attacks, both of which encapsulate the Scream antagonist. Ghostface toys with and taunts his victim s through a series of phone calls, further facilitating fear in both his victim s and viewers The character under the m ask is always a close friend to those they terrorize, so the m erciless kills of what was once his best friend reveal the true cruelty and pure evil Ghostface harbors
The m ost horrifying H alloween villains, Pennywise, M ichael M eyers, and Ghostface, have different approaches to their torm ent and varying physical appearances, yet what m akes them truly terrifying is the psychological m anipulation of their victim s. Inflicting physical pain is the goal of every horror villain, yet terrorizing their victim s by targeting their psyche establishes a new level of fear for those in the film and in the audience, which is what creates a truly successful H alloween villain
Everett Collection/Param ount PicturesL o v e an d E scap
Escapism is defined by Oxford languages as ?the tendency to seek distraction and relief from unpleasant realities, especially by seeking entertainm ent or engaging in fantasy.? This very com m on tendency is inherent to the hum an experience and nothing exem plifies that m ore than Phoebe Bridgers?s m asterpiece, Halloween. This eerie and yearning song is the fifth track from her sophom ore album , Punisher. Written by Phoebe herself, Christian Lee Hutson, and Conor Oberst of Bright Eyes and produced by The Trilem m a, Phoebe Bridgers, Ethan Gruska & Tony Berg Com ing after the self-titled 4th track Punisher, a song steeped in grief and idolatry, and before Chinese Satellite, a song preoccupied with loss and growth, H alloween is uniquely positioned as a transition song near the m iddle of the album
On the surface, this song is about nothing m ore than a failed rom ance The story of a dead and rotting relationship only one party is trying to preserve The narrator is at said party, rem iniscing about their happy days and rem inding their partner of inside jokes The entire first verse hints at the them es of hiding and escapism that this song em bodies with lines like ?but I can count on you to tell m e the truth/ W hen you've been drinking and you're wearing a m ask.? One side of this partnership is withdrawing, leaving the other in the dust, disappearing far into the future, hiding behind a ?m ask? and eventually losing their partner who m akes them ?live in the past.?
This heartbreaking verse, along with haunting vocals and a synth heavy backing, sets up the song?s repeating chorus, a desperate plea from the singer to the person they think they love. The singer draws on the m ore m odern m ythology of H alloween, a holiday based on pretend. They sing ?baby it's H alloween/and we can be anything?, begging for som e tim e to wallow in their denial. There is nothing m ore hum an than pretending an irrevocable truth doesn't exist. There is safety in forced false ignorance and there is an expectation to respect som eone else?s process when they play pretend. So yes, H alloween is a loved holiday but like m ost sim ple things in Bridgers?s m usic, it represents a dark facet of the hum an condition.
Alas, the death of this fictionalized relationship inevitably continues along with the song Bridgers builds us towns and cities of subtext with the next verse about the death of a Dodgers fan and the surprising power of love The protagonist once again shares another naked truth of hum an nature; they are ?surprised by what they'd do for love?, a sweet sentim ent to begin with, but they im m ediately follow this realization with the following line: ?they killed a fan down by the stadium /was only visiting, they beat him to death ? These seem ingly unrelated truths draw out the m orbidity in one another In this m asterful line, Bridgers is drawing a com parison between the singer and ?them ?, the people who killed the Dodgers fan for ?love? or for their twisted version of it The singer understands the love they have for their retreating partner They understand their love has festered and rotted and ended and yet they plead once m ore It's H alloween and they can be anything, what's one m ore day of pretending their love is healthy, what's one m ore day of escape?
Ultim ately this song is about the lengths we go to to keep things alive. We water the plants that grow roots around our hearts and petrify. The person Bridgers writes about could be a stand in for her or it could be any one of us. They are giving their all to a lie and they aren't getting anything in return. There is no quid pro quo, no reciprocation. And yet this song isn't about breaking it off, it's about knowing som ething is ending but going to any length to keep it alive. The singer will do whatever it takes, ?whatever you want?, to dress up for Halloween one more time.
"Wewater the plantsthat grow rootsaround our heartsand petrify. "

Source: Pinterest Source: CNN Source: PinterestLast year it was the week before Halloween, and I was told my entire friend group and half of the grade were invited to a Halloween party.Since I was one of the only girls not invited to it, my best friend asked if I could be plus-oned to the party as her guest. The host said no since he ?didn? t have any space?and forced everyone attending to get a PCRtest 24 hours before entering his house. The other four girls from the grade who weren? t invited started a hate club towards the host, which lasted a week because we all forget about it after a while. At the end of the day, my friends went to the party where they could easily have had 60 more people fit, and I spent my Halloween eating candy from Carefour on the couch with my dog.
Last Halloween I planned my costume in August, and ordered it five weeks beforehand I was going as a Charlie's Angel and was so excited to wear my outfit with friends. It was a week before Halloween and my costume still hadn? t arrived. I had no backups and no other ideas for this huge party I was going to I waited for an hour before my party to see if the costume was going to turn up; spoiler it didn?t, and was left to the realization I had no Halloween costume and I was also running extremely late Long story short I wore a random tie dye set I found in my closet and said I was a hippie from the 80s.

On Halloween in the seventh grade my friends and I were trick or treating around a compound one of my friends lived in By the end of the night, we were all sitting around eating our candy and we started playing truth or dare Someone dared me to kiss one of my best guy friends on the cheek He got so excited, but as I leaned in I changed my mind and slapped him across the face. He started crying and I still remember that every Halloween.

When I was six, my mom bought me a Halloween costume to wear to school; it was this intricate witch costume ,she told me I had to wear jeans underneath it: I refused and when she was getting me dressed for school I threw a tantrum and refused to put the jeans on because it ?ruined the outfit?. My mom told me I could wear the jeans or she wouldn? t let me go to school at all with the costume I spent that Halloween crying following my mom around as she ran errands all day wearing a witch costume with jeans underneath.
Last year I was invited onto a Halloween boat, I got dressed with a bunch of friends and left right on time. When we got to the dock we found out that the boat wasn? t even there and there were still people on it from the previous party We got on the boat two hours late and we finally left at 11:30, that night my curfew was at 1:30. By one the party was still getting started but I needed to leave so I got a speed boat to come pick me up from the boat I missed half of the party and in the end was still late to my curfew.
