CHAIRMAN'S WELCOME Good afternoon and welcome to you all for today's game against our visitors Uttoxeter Town FC and may I extend a very warm welcome to the players, officials and supporters of Uttoxeter Town FC. It was a long time coming last Saturday, but we finally managed to get a game on at the ground and I cannot begin to tell you how frustrating the last few months have been and how much we have worked to give games the chance of being played. However, my extended thanks go to everyone who has lent a hand to battle against the elements of a harsh, wet winter. I would like to introduce 2 new additions to the Clubs Management Team, Bryan Smith and Gary Timms and I would like to welcome them to the Club. Bryan joins as the Marketing and Communication Manager and has a huge amount of experience in this field and his main role is to improve how we communicate as a club to all parties and thus create an environment where everyone, directly or indirectly, feels involved in the Club and the bigger picture of what we are trying to achieve. Gary joins the club as Head of Player Recruitment and his role is to work with the Youth and Senior team coaches and develop a culture of player progression from Youth into Senior football. The role is vital to continue with the representation of players that have played for the Club within our youth teams and some of which you will be seeing tonight, Harry Stewart, Jack Robinson, Ryan Dowling, Ben Windridge, Owen Gibbons to name a few. As mentioned in my last notes, the Club has exciting plans ahead in terms of its reconstitution and opportunity to both purchase and develop the land and facilities at the Club and I will update you accordingly in the coming weeks as things move forward. All that remains is to hope you enjoy the game and best of luck to Andy and the players. Stuart Bonser Club Chairman Ps – if you are visiting the ground by car please DO NOT OBSTRUCT the junction to Cambrian Way by parking on the grass/path verge as this is both dangerous and you could get a fixed penalty notice from the Council and or Police. vs Uttoxeter Town | Saturday 15th February 2020 | www.ashbyivanhoefc.com

FIRST TEAM UPDATE Hello all, Today we are visited by Uttoxeter Town FC. Welcome to all that have travelled here today. The results so far this season have been inconsistent but this is normal in a new set up with a new group of players. The combination of this and the fact that they are learning new ideas, does take time. That we certainly have and we will continue to move the club forward both on and off the field. Myself and my staff are strengthened by the addition of a new Coach. None other than Benn Minshull who has agreed to join us in this new capacity, whilst his recuperation continues. The new Skipper on the field is Tom Rowell. A player who I have worked with for many seasons and one who will lead by example. I hope you enjoy today's game and that your support continues. Thanks to you all. Regards Andy Gray FIRST TEAM UPDATE SPONSORED BY

IN OPPOSITION TODAY Uttoxeter Town History Uttoxeter Town were formed in 1972 when the Bamfords Sports Ground became vacant following the demise of Bamfords Ltd. The facility was taken over by the East Staffs Borough Council and they offered a lease to the newly formed Oldfields Sports & Social Club. Use of the football pitch was offered to Uttoxeter Amateurs who were at that time using a pitch on Uttoxeter Racecourse. They were split between those that wished to remain at the Racecourse and those who wished to move. Those that moved formed Uttoxeter Town FC and moved to Oldfields. Initially UTFC fielded two Saturday sides in the Staffs County League. However as interest in Saturday football declined, one of the teams moved into the very competitive Uttoxeter Sunday League. By the end of the 1970’s UTFC had pulled out of Saturday football altogether and concentrated on Sunday football with their only side now competing in the Burton & District Sunday League. After a few years the team were in decline and merged with the Weaver Lodge team from the Uttoxeter and District Sunday League. Initially they were renamed Oldfields Lodge but soon reverted back to the familiar UTFC name. Uttoxeter Town then enjoyed many years success in the Burton and District Sunday Premier League, winning the Premier League title seven times in addition to many cup successes. In the 2010-2011 season the Town won the Premier League Title and all 3 cups in which they competed. The League’s first ‘quadruple’ in nearly 50 years. With no opportunities for promotion or advancement in Sunday football the logical step was to revert to Saturday football. Town applied to the Staffs County Senior League and were invited to join Division One. A league and cup double followed and promotion to the Premier League. To sustain this progress Town were obliged to establish a reserve team for the 2013/14 season which joined the Staffs County Senior League Division Two. That season the first team finished 2nd to Wolstanton in the Staffs County Senior League Premier Division and the reserves finished 2nd to Featherstone in Division Two. Both teams were promoted with the first team playing in the Midland League Division One. The first time a Uttoxeter club has competed at level 6. The reserve team have been promoted to Division One of the SCSL, the League the first team played in 2 years ago. The Town also started an U18 team who over the last 2 seasons have won 2 cups and finished runner up twice in their respective league. On 28th 2014 October the Town played their first ever game under floodlights to mark another milestone in their recent progression. They also won the game 3-1 against Atherstone to mark a memorable night. The 2014/15 season for Uttoxeter Town FC was an eventful one with the first team finishing fifth in their first season in the Midland League Division One, thus qualifying for 2015/16 FA Vase competition and the reserve team finishing fourth in Division One of the SCSL. Despite success on the field, the club had some significant financial difficulties to overcome towards the end of the season and suffered the loss of the first team management, key sponsors and a number of volunteers and so were forced to consolidate. The consolidation lead to the merger of the first team and reserve team and the withdrawal from the Midland Football League with the team moving to the SCSL Premier Division. Uttoxeter Town FC returned to the Midland Football League for the 2016-17 campaign finishing a creditable 11th place. 2017-18 again Town finished 11th place. For the 2018-19 season an improvement of 4 places to 7th position.

ASHBY KNIGHTS UPDATE First of all I would like to wish Andy and the lads all the best for today's game. The knights have had a couple of weeks without a game in the league due to the poor weather conditions. However the last time out in the league we had a fantastic 3-1 win against County Hall who we had two very good games against last season. The lads showed fantastic character and played some of the best football we’ve played all season and fully deserved the win. Since that game we had the long trip to Cottesmore in the league cup with a few players out due to injury and illness including the gaffer. So I’d like to thank the lads and Paz for their efforts even though we didn’t get the result we wanted. Robbie Avins Ashby Ivanhoe Knights Manager

The club currently consists of three adult teams and a youth team. The first team play in the Midland Football League Division 1, with the Knights in the Leicestershire Senior League Premier Division. The club also has a large number of junior sides ranging from Under 7’s through to Under 18’s who play in the Burton Junior Football League, Tamworth Junior Football League and the Derby City League. The junior section came after the club merged with the David Hunt Soccer School at the beginning of the 2009/2010 season. In February 2004, Ashby Ivanhoe became an FA Charter Standard football club. The club is very ambitious and has plans to progress further up the league pyramid system. The club is run by an experienced management team and enjoys the support of some very prestigious commercial partners. Ashby Ivanhoe had one of their most successful seasons in 2010/11 as they completed a league and cup double by winning the Leicestershire Senior League by nine points and also lifted the Coalville Charity Cup for the very first time after producing a superb second half comeback to beat Bardon Hill 3-2 in the final. They have also reached successive Leicestershire Senior Cup finals in 2011/2012 and 2012/2013 but had to settle for runnersup on both occasions losing 3-1, firstly to Ibstock United and then Aylestone Park. The 2013/2014 season saw the first team achieve a long-term ambition as they won promotion into the Step 6 East Midlands Counties League for the 2014/2015 season after finishing third place in the Leicestershire Senior League. It was a close title race with the top three all finishing level on points with Ashby third on goal difference. The Reserves were also promoted to the Leicestershire Senior League Division One. 2014/2015 saw Ashby compete at Step 6 of the non-league pyramid for the first time and they had a very good season and secured a top six finish in the East Midlands Counties League which featured victories against all of the sides above them. The Reserve side were involved in a tight title race and it went down to a last day decider against Lutterworth vs Uttoxeter Town | Saturday 15th February 2020 | www.ashbyivanhoefc.com

ASHBY IVANHOE FC CLUB HISTORY Athletic Reserves but despite the result going against them on the day they were still promoted for the second season in succession and will play at Step 7 in the Leicestershire Senior League Premier Division for 2015/2016. 2015/2016 saw Ashby have another fine season and they mounted a strong title challenge and they led the East Midlands Counties League for the majority of the season before finally finishing in third place. That saw them assured of a first ever appearance in the FA Cup for the 2016/2017 season where the aim again will be to push for promotion to Step 5. The 2016-17 season was the most memorable in the history of Ashby Ivanhoe Football Club. For the very first time in the clubs history they were accepted to play in the most famous club competition in the world, The FA Cup. It turned into a thrilling journey with higher ranked opponents of Quorn and Loughborough Dynamo knocked out before Ashby fell to Ilkeston in the 1st Qualifying Round. Prior to the Ilkeston defeat Ashby received a visit from the FA Cup which was paraded through the town centre visiting local sponsors before players and spectators had the opportunity to view the cup at the NFU Sports Ground. The league season was inconsistent with a strong finish to the season seeing the team finish in tenth place. The season did end with a first appearance in the final of the Jenkins & Jenkins League Cup but Dunkirk overturned a one goal deficit late on to see Ashby end as runners-up.
