a reputation across Canterbury for providing quality service to their loyal customer base. With decades of vehicle testing experience in the Canterbury region, the team are able to test all forms of vehicles to ensure they have their Warrant of Fitness or Certificate of Fitness. Whether they are imported vehicles
from overseas to vehicles built from scratch in New Zealand, they can test them to ensure they meet the required regulations to be on the road. Their reputation has been built on high quality work, good customer service, honesty, superior knowledge and skill. Their main business is complying fresh imports into New Zealand and recomply deregistered vehicles. Flo first started CVC on Milton Road, working on complying fresh imports and de-registered vehicles. Within a couple of months Flo opened a second site in Rangiora where he had previously worked after past clients contacted him, and at the start of 2020 CVC opened their third site on South Street in the former VTNZ South Street testing station. The site gave CVC a home of their own to carry out heavy vehicle testing, having previously rented one lane of the ACL workshop for two days a week
to service their clients’ needs. They have added their own touch to the South Street site, revamping the offices and outfitting the space with completely new equipment to carry out their work to the highest level. Vehicles now enter the site from Terrace Drive as opposed to South Street in the past. For Flo and many of his team it was coming full circle in their vehicle testing careers having worked there for VTNZ previously. With a competitive market for providing vehicle testing, Flo says it is important to offer a trustworthy and independent service so there was not the impression that a garage could fail you on a warrant of fitness so that you use them to get the vehicle fixed. If you have a freshly imported vehicle or are thinking of buying a vehicle with no registration, they can assist with the procedure. Importing a vehicle into New Zealand

the road requires relevant and up-to-date knowledge – the regulations may change over time. Any vehicle must meet the current New Zealand standard for frontal impact and emissions, and all freshly imported vehicles and lapsed registrations first registered in New Zealand on or after January 1, 1991 must be stripped back and checked. There are exemptions available for immigrant vehicles, special interest vehicles and left-hand drive special interest vehicles, which they can assist with. NZTA fees apply for all exemptions. Vehicles older than 20 years are also exempt from some regulations. Warrant of fitness services are provided by booking (for cars, bikes and heavy vehicles exempt from CoF, ie: agricultural machinery, forklifts), and they provide Certificate of Fitness checks for all vehicle classes (including passenger service vehicles and motorcycles).
