A perfect day N

ewly-married couple Monique (nee Woods) and Kane Lawson’s wedding day couldn’t have gone better. The weather was fabulous, the bride looked gorgeous and everything ran smoothly. Flowers galore and bridesmaids in black to go with Monique’s clean black and white vision, the day was stunning and the bride was glowing, later saying it was “the best day ever”. “Our wedding day was absolutely perfect. We were so lucky to be surrounded by a team of talented vendors who I am lucky to call friends and family.” Monique was dressed by Pallas Couture in Sydney and the bridesmaids could wear anything formal they liked as long as it was black and the shoes were matching. Groom Kane’s suit was from Working Style – a smart black outfit with white shirt and a white flower as a boutonniere.

School ball checklist

f it’s nearly school ball time then you need to make sure that you are nice and prepared. There’s a lot to organise and get ready. Here’s some advice to make sure that you don’t forget anything and you’re all set for your big day: –

Dress The first thing that you need to think about is what you are wearing. You need to think about what style of dress you would like and you’d need to consider this a good few weeks in advance. Shoes The next aspect that you need to consider is your shoes. Ideally you need to pick some shoes that match your dress. Hair You can either get your hair done by

your hairdresser or if you prefer you could do it yourself. If you decide to go to a hairdresser then remember to take pictures of any hairstyles that you like so that your hairdresser can try them out in your hair to see if you like them. Makeup If you decide to do your own makeup then you need to get some practice in! Decide what look you are going for and then you can start practising. You need to pick a look that suits your style and outfit – either classic or more vibrant. Accessories You need to try and pick accessories that enhance how you look but don’t overshadow what you are wearing. If you struggle to find accessories that work with your style then you could always get creative and make your own.

L

ocated in the heart of the city, the family-owned business has been providing an on-site repair, alteration and handcrafted jewellery service for more than 35 years. Visiting the business is a refreshing change to what can sometimes be a daunting and sterile experience, says second generation jeweller, Jason Baylis. “We are honest, friendly, downto-earth and many customers come back to us for that reason. Our business is built on word-of-mouth, so pretty much everyone who comes here are referrals.”
