praytech Canterbury was formed after Joseph Gaudin, owner and operator, decided to go it alone and use his eight years of painting experience to establish a brand that would best express his craftsmanship and provide the foremost cost-for-quality painting service in Mid Canterbury. “When I was working for someone else, I used to do my jobs to my own high standard but I often went home feeling like just another number, with little thanks for a job well done.” So at 25 years old, Joseph started his business the old fashioned way. “I handed out flyers on my bike around Linwood, Christchurch.” Soon enough, he found his first client. Fast forward to now, he employs three other painters and has reached Master Painter status. Joseph recently made the move to Rakaia after wanting to give his family the childhood he had. “I grew up fishing and doing motocross – so I wanted to give my kids that rural lifestyle.” Joseph has the same attitude towards his staff. He gives all his employees the day off for their birthdays – and they get paid for it too. They even get up to $1000 tool allowance. “Overalls, wet weather gear and boots provided – we’ve just got flash new uniforms too. “The way I see it going the extra mile makes my staff go the extra mile too.” Joseph has projects on the go in Methven, Rakaia and Timaru. “We go all over the show.” The roof painting season is here and a lot of people don’t know leaving your roof to deteriorate could potentially result in a re-roof and a cost of up to $15,000.
