Eight ways to improve the chances With the school holidays over and lives returning to normal, now may be as good a time as any to put your home on the market. Here are some helpful hints on improving the chances of successfully selling your home.

1. GET YOUR ASKING PRICE RIGHT This is a tricky market and putting the right price on your property is vital. Price too high and you risk scaring everyone off; price too low and the buyer will still expect to haggle so you could end up with considerably less than you wanted.

2. CHOOSE YOUR REAL ESTATE AGENT CAREFULLY Talk to three real estate agents, before deciding on a price. Be careful not to be flattered or greedy when given unrealistic valuations, make

sure you understand how they came to their valuation and check similarsized house prices in your area to compare your price to. Do your research before choosing an agent. It can be tempting to market a property yourself to save cash, but you should consider how big a task you face in the current market. How will you market your house, do you have the time to show people around, are you a salesperson, can you do the negotiating? Choose a real estate agent with a good recommendation; ask friends and family about their experiences. Quiz them on how they will market your house - will it be advertised locally? Will your house be a “property of the week” in the local paper? I’m not really sure why it’s taken me so long to extol the virtues of this pretty flower. And it has several – virtues that is. Not only does it grow well in bedding, borders, hanging baskets, containers and cottage gardens, its long stems make it a perfect cut flower and it’s incredibly easy to grow. The new-look squad will meet the Ascot Park Hotel Southern Steel at the EA Networks Centre in Ashburton on March 5-6. The NZ Men's team and both the Tactix and Steel's National Netball League teams will also take part in the pre-season event as well as the Canterbury men's development team. There will also be coaching clinics. Tickets for all matches are available at the door (there are no presales for these matches - only door sales) - Adults - $5, school children - gold coin donation

This festival will feature music from classical to country and jazz, in the beautiful gardens of the iconic Glenmore Station, Lake Tekapo, on Saturday, March 19, 2016. From 12 noon to 5pm the outstanding line-up will include Fiona Pears with full band, The River City Jazzmen, Anna Hoetjes, Mark Tavendale, Bex Murray, Sarah Fastier, Hamish Oliver, Bradley Staley and up-andcoming Timaru talent, Hannah and Abigail Austin. Bring a BYO picnic lunch although cheese boards, children’s platters and hot and cold refreshments will be sold on the day. Grab a deck chair, sit back and enjoy as these performers create a magical atmosphere. Certified and fully self-contained NZMCA or affiliated members can park overnight park at Glenmore Station on Friday and Saturday nights.
