MATH TEACHER USES “DonorsChoose.org” TO LOOK FOR FUNDING
Wallbaum Development Inc.
Carrie Jo Donnan, math teacher at A-C Central Middle School, is utilizing a website called DonorsChoose.org to search for funding for calculators for her middle school math classroom. All 6th, 7th, and 8th graders are going to be asked to have their own TI-30XA calculator next year (approximately $10 at Wal-Mart), but the classroom still needs extras that the students can borrow when they forget their own or are unable to purchase on their own. This program allows public school teachers to post a need in their classroom and any individual or business that is willing to help may donate money to the cause. Any donation is accepted, even if it does not cover the full price of the request. The site is free for public school teachers and is an excellent venue for people to donate money to help out the educational needs that our schools are facing in this economy. Here is a link to the project: http://goo.gl/gYPiU. Any funding that could be made by individuals or businesses that are able would be greatly appreciated by the teacher and students.

To all of our family and friends… The mere words ―thank you‖ can only begin to express how very much your support of our adventures with the MS Walk means to us. ―Thank you‖ doesn’t say that with each little note you sent back with a check, told me that you were fighting and walking right bedside us… ―Thank You doesn’t say that because of your dona tions we have raised over $130,000 to research and eradicate this disease from the earth… ―Thank You‖ doesn’t say that the hugs at the Post Office, or in the grocery store, gave us courage to face another day— wobbly or not… and ―thank You‖ doesn’t say the depth of the appreciation that we have growing up in, and living in a town generous as Ashland with neighbors like all of you. This year alone, we raised over $7,000 and had a wonderful day of sunshine and smiles at Washington Park in Springfield. If you were not contacted and would like to donate to the national Multiple Sclerosis Society, we are able to collect pledges until June 10th.
