3D Scanning Applications that turn imagination into reality

Kahuna’s Spatial Technologies and Advanced Modeling Division offers full-service data collection and 3D modeling services ulilizing the latest advancements in land based laser scanning technology and software. With LiDAR (scanning) and Leica (software), we are able to reverse engineer facilities using point cloud data, point cloud models, high definition ortho-rectified imagery and advanced terrain models. This data allows for facility construction, expansion, renovation or relocation in a timely and cost-effective manner. The Kahuna Spatial Technologies and Advanced Modeling (STAM) Division was initiated in 2013 when Kahuna was contracted to relocate a 1,300 GPM Amine Natural Gas Plant from Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Orla, Texas. Since its inception, Kahuna has scanned and provided detailed facility data and modeling for projects across multiple industries nationwide, including facilities from 130+ acre sites to single equipment retrofits. Understanding data is the underlying foundation to accurately design, renovate, as-build and expand upon quality facilities, our team is proud to be considered one of the software and technological leaders in the industry.

Laser scanning allows the Spatial Technologies and Advanced Modeling Division of Kahuna to capture existing conditions in an accurate, timely and cost-effective method. Instead of sending a crew on-site to generate floor plan drawings and gather existing layouts for tenant finishes, a laser scanning field expert and a 3D modeling team is able to gather all the necessary information and provide a 3D digital file allowing you the capability to virtually walk through the project from your home office.

Floor Plan Generation Rapidly gather current facility structural and mechanical information to allow for accurate designs. Tenant Finishes Gather existing conditions for accurate expansion and preservation design (deminsions, lighting, fire suppression, etc.). Historical Preservation Identify signature pieces to restore and ensure quality preservation. Planning Approval For new construction, demonstrate your design to city officials in an accurate model of the surrounding buildings.
