DESIGN A TOOL TO CONSUME ALOO PARATHA
Design Brief: Identification of the Problem: ďƒ’
Aloo paratha is a thick disc shaped food material. Design a tool to consume aloo paratha, avoiding the direct use of hands.
Aim of the design: ďƒ’
To make the process more easy and to reduce the time of consumption.
Observation:
Since aloo paratha is usually a bit hard and thick its difficult to use a single tool, like spoon, fork & knife.
Use of a single tool will be more convenient for the user.
The normal time range to consume this food is from 15 to 20 minutes (with hand).
With a pair of tools like knife and fork or spoon the time is more than 20 minutes.
Analysis of the existing tools:
Cutting the paratha is the first step to be done – knife is useful
Picking it up – spoon or fork
Concept for the design and solution:
A combination of 2 tools: fork and knife – perfect for cutting and picking up the pieces.
The time duration is expected to be decreased up to 10 to 15 minutes.
