LEGAL STUDENT OF THE YEAR ANNIE NEVALA Annie is a College Scholar and a First Class Honours graduate of the BCL (International) Programme at University College Cork. Annie's research interests lie broadly within the areas of mental health law, bioethics and moral philosophy. She was published 3 times during her undergraduate degree and shortlisted for University College Cork's "Graduate of the Year" award in 2015.

GRAHAM BUTLER Graham Butler (BA, LLM) is a PhD Fellow in European Union Law at the Centre for Comparative and European Constitutional Studies, University of Copenhagen. In the past year, he has published in a number of academic journals, including the Irish Jurist, the Irish Law Times, and Irish Studies in International Affairs. CLARA HURLEY Clara Hurley is a third year BCL (International) student and Quercus University Scholar at University College Cork. She is currently undertaking a yearlong programme in European and International law at the University of Leiden in the Netherlands. Her academic work has been published in the Irish Law Times and the Trinity College Law Review.

LAUREN O'CONNELL Lauren O’Connell (B.C.L., LL.M.) is a PhD student in University College Dublin and is an awardee of the UCD Sutherland School of Law PhD Scholarship. Her interests are Criminal Law, Criminology and Forensics. Lauren is also a Law Tutor in the School of Law and Government in Dublin City University.. SUZANNE SCOTT Suzanne holds a first class honours LL.M. from Maynooth University and an LL.B. (Ling. Germ.) from Trinity College Dublin. She is President of the European Law Students’ Association in Ireland and is currently completing her PhD in the area of human trafficking under the supervision of Dr David Doyle.

LUCY JONES Lucy Jones is currently studying for an LLM in Public International Law at the LSE. She graduated from UCC with First Class Honours degree (BCLI) in 2015. During her time at UCC Lucy founded the campaign “Know Offence”, represented Ireland at the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court, and interned at the Law Library of Congress and the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia.
