You are all very welcome to the AIB Private Banking Irish Law Awards 2016 celebrating the outstanding achievements and exemplary practices of leading law firms, legal practitioners and in-house legal teams across the country over the past 12 months. Ireland has emerged from an extremely difficult and challenging period and we know the legal profession faced its own challenges of difficult market conditions, competition, regulation and the evolving nature of legal services. Tonight we recognise those firms and individuals who are responding to these challenges through the excellence of their counsel, through innovation and through their services to the legal community. These represent the gamut of legal related services from all around the country in business, finance and banking as well as criminal and family law to name but a few. It reminds us how pervasive the law is and how fundamental the legal profession is to our professional and personal lives. We also recognise the achievements of those students who have it all to look forward to! AIB Private Banking are hugely honoured to be title sponsors of the Irish Law Awards this year and look forward to recognising the various nominees and award recipients for their outstanding achievements. Many of our customers are legal professionals and we are delighted to be associated with an event that recognises excellence in this field.
