Together We Go Green is a collaboration between Healthy Campus of Universiti Sains Malaysia and ASEAN Youth Eco-Leaders 2013 (AYVP @ AsiaEngage)
• Environmental awareness is brought about by exposure to the knowledge of the environment. – Activities and programs to raise awareness on the environment, reduce pollution, restore and conserve the ecosystem to society.
This project focuses on the importance of recognizing and loving the environment, as well as spreading the awareness to the community through high school students.
The project also promotes education awareness on environmental issues, explores solutions, and puts an important platform for high school students to build sustainable thinking in protecting and conserving natural resources.
GROUP DISCUSSION 1 • Needs Vs Requirements • Identify problems in school • Time-series graph of water consumption / electricity / etc. GROUP DISCUSSION 2 • A short sketch to dramatize the importance of environmental sustainability.
5 IMPORTANT ASPECTS • Water conservation prototype
• 3R Concept -Reuse, Reduce, Recycle
• Creative Innovation of recycled items
• Calculation of the electricity consumption
• Banner Innovation
Post- Programme • 40 secondary schools in Penang • Student club “ Kelab Sejahtera” will be established in each school with the school student as committee leaders who will be under the supervision of Healthy Campus,USM.
Stakeholders Involved • Healthy Campus, Universiti Sains Malaysia. – Expertise, Consultation and Technical Assistance to put together the education module. • Student support base- Volunteers from Secretariat of Healthy Campus ,USM – As Committee members for Together ,We Go Green Project. • Penang State Education Department (JPNPP) – Collaboration with JPN to contact the selected schools to participate in the programme. • Secondary Schools - Participants
