Sonic Survey. West Coast: The U. S. S, BULL and CORRY completed, on December 22, a s o n i c survey of t h e West Cmst of t h e United S t a t e s , f r o m P o i n t Descanso, Mexico, t o Sin r'rlincisco. Lines of soundings were run a t f i v e m i l e i n t e r v a l s from the hundred fathom c u r v e t o the f l o o r of t h e P a c i f i c , from Point Descanso t o P o i n t Conception. Prom P o i n t Conception t o & n F r a n c i s c o , the l i n e s of soundings were ; a t ten m i l e intervals. I n all 6800 miles of soundings wzre t a k e n a n d it i s r e p o r t e d thst s e v e r a l uncharted banks were d i s c c v e r e d .

The sounding o p e r a t i o n s were conducted u?on request of the Carnegie I n s t i t u t e of Washington t o be used i n c o n n e c t i o n
