L’Atelie Ho e Galle y ha il pia e e di i augu a e giovedì 12 maggio 2016 la doppia personale della due fotografe Irena Fabri e Marcella Zanki, dal titolo Two sides of the mirror. La mostra traccia il combaciare di due inizi: da un lato la galleria apre i propri spazi per la prima volta ad una rassegna fotografica, dall’alt o le due fotog afe dell’est Eu opa espo go o i Italia per la loro prima volta. Two Sides Of The Mirror (Due lati di uno specchio) è una mostra che mette in luce la donna come essere umano e spirituale nei suoi diversi atteggiamenti ed emozioni, ell’appa i e i o dizio i anch non desiderabili. Irena Fabri e Marcella Zanki, con le loro foto, mostrano e frammentano le donne in due opposti stati d’a i o al fi e di t as ette e u ’i te p etazio e espe ie ziale della atu a fe i ile. Irena Fabri aff o ta e app ese ta il lato spi ituale ed e ig ati o dell’esistenza femminile. Gli attimi catturati nelle sue fotografie ci conducono alla fragilità del carattere femminile e mostrano una armonia dicotomica venata di melanconia. Sov asta do iò he egola l’e uili io esteti o, le foto di I e a Fa i si affacciano al sublime con la pote za dell’esp essio e e dell’e ozio e simbolizzanti la atu a dell’esse e femminile, che non è totalmente visibile e fruibile alla mera percezione sensoriale. Tale app o io spi ituale dell’a tista vuole ti a fuo i i o te uti as osti degli atti i d’i ti ità he prendono forma attraverso la fotografia e che provocano un notevole sentimento ed emozione all’osse vato e pe tutta la du ata del suo p o esso di o u i azio e o l’a tista e le foto. Marcella Zanki cattura, invece, il lato selvaggio e vigo oso dell’u ive so fe i ile, inserendo nei suoi lavori tutta la carica emozionale che viene volutamente tralasciata dall’app o io utilizzato da I e a Fa i. Marcella colloca le sue modelle in una scenografia precostituita cercando di catturare cosa sia a distorcere l’esteti a fe i ile. L’i dipe de za, l’autosuffi ie za, il a atte e fo te e la dete i azio e so o solo al u e delle a atte isti he he o po go o l’au ea della fotog afia di Marcella Zanki. Una dose di primitivismo sorprendente attribuisce alle sue foto il p i ipio ase dell’autosuffi ie za. Questo selvaggio sopra citato rappresenta un eccezionale elemento sensuale indirizzato ai tratti mentali e psicologici che non sono comuni nella vita quotidiana delle donne. Un osservatore esterno può giungere alla conclusione che questa tipologia di fotografie non hanno solamente un significato, a app ese ta o a he l’esp essio e di u a alt a ideologia ollegata ad una diversa natura femminile, espressione di una prospettiva cruda e maschile. Le modelle, fotografate da
Marcella, simbolicamente rompono il ito dell’ete osessualità e og i fotog afia t as ette l’auda e pote e fe i ile he p ovo a l’osse vato e passivo aspetta do u a sua eazio e. Ridefinendo il concetto di donna in tal modo, il pubblico andrà oltre al precostituito significato che si attribuisce alla stessa. Libera da regole, oscena fino ad un certo punto, la donna, rappresentata e fotografata da Marcella Zanki, rivendica la libertà, invoca alla ribellione, e vuole costruire un proprio mondo nuovo con diverse ragioni e logiche. La serie fotografica nella sua interezza vuole, in tal senso, rivelare le irregolarità morali, le deviazioni e distorsioni alludendo alla decomposizione e rottura delle norme verbali e comportamentali.
IRENA FABRI (Serbia) Irena Fabri ha studiato alla Dunav Film School, Department for Film and TV Editing, dove si è laureata nel 2008. Ha iniziato la sua carriera professionale come video editor per programmi televisivi e assistente alla regia di film. La sua prima prima produzione è un documentario Awakening che è stato premiato al Festival Beldocs nel 2011. Ultimamente il suo lavoro si è concentrato nella regia di documentari, campagne pubblicitarie e cortometraggi. Oltre alla regia e il montaggio la grande passione per Irena è la fotografia. Una fotografia che risente molto dalla sua professionale principale essendo molto cinematografica.
MARCELLA ZANKI (Croazia) Marcella Zanki è una regista di video musicali, cortometraggi, spot pubblicitari ed anche una fotografa. Lei ha studiato Design of Visual Communications e lavora come regista, fotografa e live visual performer anche su commissione. Marcella fa parte di "Photo VOGUE Collection at Art + Commerce (New York)" and "PhotoVogue.it" e e e te e te ha i iziato ad espo e i p op i lavo i i galle ie d’a te.

The Atelier Home Gallery is pleased to open on Thursday the 12th of May 2016 the double personal exhibition of the photographers Irena Fabri and Marcella Zanki titled Two sides of the mirror. This exhibition represents a new beginning for both the artists and the gallery. Irena and Marcella will exhibit for the first time in Italy and the Atelier Home Gallery will host its first exhibition about photography. Two Sides Of The Mirror is a photography exhibition that focuses on women represented as spiritual and physical human beings in all their different expressions, emotions and (un)desirable social conditions. Irena Fabri and Marcella Zanki, with their photographs, want to show and divide women in two opposite states of mind (the spiritual and the strong emotional one) to give a personal review and interpretation of the female nature. Irena Fabri deals with the spiritual as well as the enigmatic side of female existence. The photographs summarise all these elements by capturing intimate moments. Although being a woman herself, Irena fully matches a certain way to react that allows her to achieve an intimate and thoughtful standing accomplished by shooting her models. The captured moments in her photographs lead to the fragile female character and show the harmony dichotomy combined with a certain amount of melancholy. The photographs are not completely harmonious but have the power of expression and emotional effect aiming to symbolise the essence of female nature that is not completely visible and available to mere sensory perception. Such a spiritual approach of the artist wants to point out the hidden contents of small and intimate moments materialised through photography. The displayed moments provoke a remarkable feeling and emotion in both the beginning and the end of the process of communication between the artist, the photograph and the observer. Marcella Zanki shows the wild and vigorous female world, beyond the spiritual one, by adding in her photographs the emotional charge of a woman. The result is completely opposite of Irena Fabri approach. She places her models in a pre-designed scenography wishing to capture what distorts the female aesthetics. Independence, self-sufficiency, strong character and determination are only some features that make the aura of Marcella's photographs. The dose of primitivism is astonishing, giving to the photographs the basic principle of self-sufficiency which is actually one of the main direction in the works of Marcella Zanki. This wild represents an exceptionally sensual element pointed to the mental and psychological traits that is not common in women on daily basis.
An external observer may come to the assumption that these kind of photographs do not have only a meaning but also represe t the artist’s expression of an ideology related to other female nature viewed from the raw perspective of a male person. The models, that were i fro t of the artist’s ca era, symbolically break the myth of heterosexual norms. Each photograph emanates daring female power facing the passive observers and waiting for their reaction or not. Redefining the concept of women in this way, the public will break-up the established conventional ͞meaning͟ of a woman. Free from layers and rules, prurient to the appropriate extent, the women, in the photographs of Marcella Zanki, call for freedom, ask for a sort of rebellion and build their new world, the world of different reasons and logics. The series of photographs, therefore, reveal moral irregularities, deviations and distortions, and allude to the decomposition and breaking of verbal and behavioral norms.
IRENA FABRI (Serbia) Irena Fabri studied at Dunav Film School, Department for Film and TV Editing, where she has graduated in 2008. She started her professional career as a video editor for various TV companies and as well as First Assistant Director on feature films. Her first author, documentary movie Awakening was premiered in 2011 at the Beldocs festival. Lately, her work is usually based in the field of directing documentaries, campaigns and short movies. Irena's passion besides direction and editing is also photography. Photography largely relies on her main profession and is therefore quite cinematic and recognizable.
MARCELLA ZANKI (Croatia) Marcella Zanki is music video, short film, commercial director and photographer. She graduated Design of Visual Communications as director, but she works on different personal and commissioned projects as director, photographer and live visual performer. She is part of "Photo VOGUE Collection at Art + Commerce (New York)" and "PhotoVogue.it", recently started to exhibit her work in galleries.
ATELIER HOME GALLERY Atelier Home Gallery organizes exhibitions and happenings at the historical home of a family of two artists, Roberto del Frate and Roberta de Jorio, presenting contemporary artists to investigate how artworks fit in a living space that has a more intimate feeling. Inside this living space there are two different realities: the gallery (hosting art exhibitions and industrial design showcases) and the Atelier of Roberto del Frate, where the painter gives life to his artistic visions. This home gallery is located at the third floor of the majestic Panfili Palace, built at the end of the XIX Century from the Panfili family, characterized by his amusing big spaces with a historic atmosphere. Going beyond the normal reach of a gallery, it offers painting courses, psychoanalytic talks, music events, video screenings and enogastronomic experiences.
