June marked a significant milestone for Mount Elizabeth Hospital (MEH) with the successful kidney transplant performed on one of the youngest recipients in Parkway Pantai’s history, by leading transplant surgeons Dr Li Man Kay and Dr Michael Wong. Dr Akira Wu was the attending renal physician.

This is particularly true for people prone to skin or breathing problems. Some products may aggravate allergies. Stress management can be a powerful tool for wellness. People who are under constant stress are more vulnerable to everything from colds to high blood pressure and heart disease. Food can fight stress in several ways. comfort foods, like a bowl of warm oatmeal, actually boost levels of serotonin, a calming brain chemical. other foods such as oranges, spinach, fish like salmon and tuna, pistachios, avocados and almonds can reduce levels of cortisol and adrenaline − stress hormones that take a toll

Mr Mozammel Huq bhuiyan was infected by the Hepatitis c virus since 1996. over time, his situation became worse and he was diagnosed with end-stage liver failure. In 2011, he travelled to Singapore to undergo Living Donor Liver Transplant surgery with Dr K.c. Tan at Gleneagles Hospital, which was a success. “I used to feel very weak, giddy, dizzy and disoriented most of the time before the transplant. I also had nausea and appetite loss, “ said Mr bhuiyan. “but after the transplant, I feel stronger. No more weakness or any other symptoms. I even gained 10kg of weight!”
