School Newsletter June 2019
Issue 5
Hello! Well that’s it we are in the last week of term – woosh that flew by! Just wanted to touch base with you all before we hopefully go and enjoy some relaxation and sunshine! Staffing Just before the children get a chance to meet their new classes and teachers at Meet the Teacher tomorrow I just wanted to confirm the staffing break down for you. As you know Miss Brown will leave us after completing her probationary year with us – Miss Brown will be missed by all staff and pupils and we wish her well in her future career. Mrs Livingstone will also not be returning next year. She has decided to return back to working outdoors and hopefully secure a post in the horticultural sector. We will of course all miss her and look forward to hearing about her new adventures. We will be recruiting to fill this post this week.

Sports Day After two cancellations we were delighted to spend a wonderful morning in the park last Friday for our sports day. It was a super morning and all our competitors enjoyed running, balancing, jumping and throwing their way to the finish lines. Thanks to all the staff who worked to plan, prepare and organise the event, to Mrs Cameron and Mrs Overmeer for coming in on their days off to help, to the senior pupils from North Berwick for their help and to everyone who came along to cheer and support. It was a great morning. Bee Green P1/2/3/4 all spent last Thursday at Dirleton Primary working alongside their P1/2/3/4 pupils to put on a performance of Bee Green. This was a superb opportunity to be involved in a creative project which is made possible by the Youth Music Initiative. The children performed beautifully and as always made me very proud indeed. If you want to email any comments about the project which we will forward onto YMI please send into the school email address. Primary 7 Primary 7 had a great 3 days at North Berwick High School, their final transition event, and are all now very much ready for the big school. This was followed by a very enjoyable and special day out with their teachers. They decided together what they would like to do and this is a wonderful opportunity to spend time with each other before moving on. Thanks to the Parent Council for funding this opportunity.
