GAMUDA LAND
The landscape design proposal for Gamuda Cove embraces the site’s unique natural environment and complex ecosystem. Through design of landscape preservation measures and celebration of natural assets do we aim to create an exemplar destination which will cater for residence and visitors of the mixed use development, strengthening the project’s image as a unique and world class development. “The site’s unique location adjacent to the wetland park opens various opportunities for an eco-themed development.” or promote ‘Living with Nature’ Innovative design and planning principles are explored to meet project objectives and a problem solving approach is adopted to turn the various site’s constraints into opportunities.

The wetland’s interfaces and its overall natural system is protected and cultivated beyond the aesthetic quality to ensure the true ecological benefit is sustained. A interconnected open space framework accommodates both project-wide Blue- and Green systems. A diverse network of trails connect the various neighborhoods and provides a controlled access towards the most sensitive wetland areas.
The Central Park is located in the heart of the 1.627 acres mixed-use development. The project area is surrounded by various wetlands, this opens up various opportunities for ecological development. Many areas of the Central Eco-Park will be developed as ecological wetlands. The general slogan of this mixed- used development project, which is: “Living with nature” will be a key branding/selling point for this park. The central park is one of the key areas which will contribute to making the project a success. The park will also be part of the first phase of the project and become a catalyst for the overall development. The park will also establish the overall design language and reflect the vision of the project that promotes a ‘living with nature’ concept. To ensure a good integration of this element into the overall framework and it’s context have we performed as study of the surrounding areas such as the existing wetlands and reserve to better understand the native landscape typologies and habitats. The western side of the park will be prominently surrounded by residential communities while the eastern side will be more commercially focused with a mall at the outer eastern side. The residential neighborhoods will be connected to the park with infrastructure and sightlines without jeopardizing privacy and security. Sightlines are established by considering level changes and perforations in the green edge treatments surrounding the park. The park landscape provides a diverse range of habitats for various species of plants and animals. These are spread along the park and become subject to various trails or interactive viewing platforms. Habitats which can be found in adjacent reserve and wetlands will also be introduced within the park, this includes areas with soft edge treatments; reed beds and riparian areas .The park will be part of a project wide ecological network which provides migrations routes for animals and plants.
