BAF’s priority is to support African American artists during the challenging times that we are facing in Atlanta and as a Nation. As a result, the theme for NBAFs 2020 fundraiser is “The Art of Giving” which focuses on the desire to transform lives and make a collective impact in a tangible way. Now is the time for us to come together as a community to support artists with their abundance of talent and inspiration and sow into them by investing our time, resources and most importantly, hope! As a part of this exciting event, we are proud to launch the NBAF Horizon Awards. For the past three decades, NBAF has been dedicated to supporting talented artists in developing and showcasing their craft. This year, along with loyal donors and supporters of the arts, we are proud to continue this work through the inaugural NBAF Horizon Awards competition. These awards represent our evolution, growth, and

enduring commitment to uplift emerging talent and through them we will honor three extraordinary artists who have utilized their artistic expression in ways that promote healing and restoration in light of COVID19. We’ve curated and invited top industry professionals to participate as judges for this competition, all of whom are experts in their field, connected to the culture, and at the pulse of innovation with roots in Atlanta. Our national judging committee is one of a kind with the purpose to connect them with emerging talent through our competitive application process. The application process opened in May via invite only, with final submissions due June 30th. Award winners will be announced the first week of September and presented at “The Art of Giving” Horizon Awards Ceremony on September 26, 2020. For more information please visit us at nbaf. org.
