NORTH CORNWALL COMMONS: GROWTH & PLANS
The first piece of land for North Cornwall Commons was acquired in 2003, followed by additional land acquisition, a vision, planning, meetings, and an onslaught of paperwork and permits. Byler Holdings, the developer, took over the project in 2016 and the inaugural ground-breaking took place in May of 2017. Although the project’s start was much slower than anticipated, it has notably accelerated and is expected to continue to develop across the next 10-15 years. The striking new construction is located off of Rocherty Road, across from the Lebanon Valley Expo Center & Fairgrounds, a few miles from the PA Turnpike and just east of Route 72. Because of its prime location and large footprint, construction progress is catching the attention of drivers, residents and out-of-town visitors alike, on a daily basis. A project of this size and type is new to the Lebanon Valley. North Cornwall Commons is the only mixed-use, walkable community in Lebanon County, featuring townhomes, apartments, restaurants, a hotel and more. “My favorite part about this project, after such a long process, is seeing it come together,” said Jonathan Byler, President and CEO of Byler Holdings. “It’s great to add something to the community that didn’t exist anywhere else.”

What currently exists at North Cornwall Commons? The first project to break ground in the new development was the Trail Side Townhomes in December 2017. The majority of construction on the 160 townhomes is complete and only 12 of the units are still available for purchase. Following the start of construction on the townhomes, the community clubhouse, including a gym, large community room and pool, were completed in 2019. A new entrance to the Lebanon Valley Rails-to-Trails was also added by the community center. The first restaurant to join North Cornwall Commons was Ancestor Coffeehouse & Creperie, which began serving the community in May 2019. A nail salon, Premier Nails, moved in next to the creperie in January of 2020 and Vilana Studio, LLC, a hair salon, opened for business in August 2021. The Marriott Fairfield Inn & Suites, a 4-story, 90-room hotel, began welcoming guests in July of 2021 and Micks All-American Pub opened it’s doors in 2021.
