CAST BIOS Dylan Cantu (Huitzi) This is Dylan’s 1st show with Prism Movement Theater. Favorite Roles: Sir Lancelot, Ed Boone, and Perry (OYT) In his free time Dylan does Pro Wrestling, (aka Tommy Prince) and he also likes to hangout with friends, and go to the gym. Thank you to the cast & crew for making this possible! Bobby Garcia (Tezca/ Rabbit/ Xotol) Bobby Garcia is an accomplished martial artist and tai chi instructor. He teaches and holds martial arts seminars all throughout the D-FW area through his company Modus Martial Arts. Bobby has performed in Prism Movement Theater’s Bruises as the “Master” and has appeared in several short films as a stunt man. Tatiana Gantt (Quetza/ Rabbit) is a bilingual Latinx actress, teaching artist, and theater maker based out of Dallas,TX. She is a graduate from the University of North Texas and has had the pleasure of serving the DFW community through various artistic work with theaters such as Dallas Summer Musicals, Dallas Theater Center, Shakespeare Dallas, and many others. Her recent work has included starring in roles such as Lydia Bennet in Pride and Prejudice, Ana in Real Women Have Curves and Macarena in Villa. Jennifer Ramirez (Centeotl/Xochipilli) Jennifer is very excited to be a part of Prism Movement Theater and Elevator Project's Lucha Teotl. Jennifer has been an independent pro wrestler in the DFW Metroplex and beyond for 9 years. She would like to thank all those involved in Lucha Teotl for making it a very fun and rewarding experience.
Gaurav Bhaskar (Opochtli/ Itza) is a software engineer based in Fort Worth. When he's not programming, he's practicing martial arts, hanging out with his two dogs, cooking, spending time with his girlfriend, or all of the above. He has worked with Prism before as an actor in Circe: Song of Benedito, but that unfortunately could not go to production because of COVID. Omar Padilla (Comentarista 1) is delighted to be back at Prism Theatre, after first appearing in Bruno & Louie at the FIT Festival. He has worked with several Theatre Companies around DFW, including Undermain Theatre, Cara Mia Theatre Co., Dallas Children’s Theatre, Teatro Dallas, DGDG, Ochre House, Kitchen Dog Theatre, Altered Shakespeare, Theatre Arlington, and Shakespeare in the Bar. He has also been a teaching artist for the last six years, collaborating with organizations such as Junior Players, Dallas Theater Center, Water Tower Theater, Nine 9 Agency, The Flame Foundation, Cara Mia Theatre Co., Teatro Dallas, and Bella Modeling School. Omar is represented by the Kim Dawson Agency, where his work extends into film, radio and T.V. He’s currently working in the feature film The Dark Ruins, coming next year. He hopes that everyone enjoys this amazing show, and would like to thank all the Lucha Teotl Team. IG: @omarduke Ana Armenta (Comentarista 2) is a Mexican-born actress and Theatre teaching artist. She graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelors of Art in Theatre, and minor in French. She has worked with Cara Mía Theatre in Tina’s Journey, Bless Me, Ultima, Teatro en Fuga, The House on Mango Street, and most recently in Soltar!, as well as with Teatro Dallas in Villa and Tlali: When We Were Earth. She is thrilled to be making her debut with Prism Movement Theater and diving into the world of lucha libre and wrestling. Le manda un abrazote a su familia por todo el apoyo!
Rafael Tamayo (El Maestro de Ceremonias) Rafael Tamayo, manager of the Oak Cliff Cultural Center, Co-founder of Kixpo Sneaker + Streetwear Expo, Faded Deejays Member, Co-founder of De Colores Collective, MC/Poet, Actor and Mario Kart Enthusiast. Chris D’Auria (Referee) is over the moon to be returning to the stage, especially in a show about pro-wrestling, a passion of his for over 2 decades. Chris has been involved in theatre just as long, appearing in productions as an actor and dialect coach with Stolen Shakespeare Guild and Tarrant Actors Regional Theatre in the 8 years he has been in DFW. During the pandemic, he participated in both of Taphouse Theatre’s Shelter in Place Festivals, playing the Captain in This is Your Captain Speaking and directing You Can Bake! and Nothing Good Happens After Midnight. He also started a Tiktok (@chrisdauria7) so he can play saxophone and sing for an audience and would probably appreciate your follow if he knew what he was doing. CREATIVES BIOS Jeff Colangelo (Director/ Writer/ Producer) – Jeffrey is a writer, director, actor, fight director, co-founder of Prism Movement Theater. He has been working in the DFW area for the last four years for theatre companies like Cara Mía Theatre Co., Undermain Theatre, Trinity Shakespeare, Water Tower, Dallas Shakespeare, and the Dallas Theater Center. He has taught with a number of excellent Dallas school programs like Junior Players, Dallas Theater Center, and School of Yes. Jeffrey graduated from Southern Methodist University in 2013 with a degree in Theater Studies.
Chris Ramirez (Director/ Writer) – Chris Ramirez is a member of Dallas Theater Center’s Diane and Hal Brierley Resident Acting Company, where his credits include: American Mariachi; In the Heights;Twelfth Night; Sweat; White Rabbit Red Rabbit; Hair, Hood: The Robin Hood Musical Adventure; Public Works Dallas’The Tempest. Chris received his BFA in Theatre Performance from Baylor University in 2013. His other stage credits include The Great Distance Home, Elliot, A Soldiers Fugue (WaterTower Theatre); Empathitrax (Second Thought Theatre); An Octoroon (Stage West); It Shoulda Been You, Titanic (Uptown Players); Zoot Suit, blu, Crystal City 1969 (Cara Mía Theatre Co.); Hands on a Hardbody (Theatre Three); The Winter’s Tale, Pericles, The King’s Face (Shakespeare Dallas); director of Little Shop of Horrors (Junior Players and University of Texas at Dallas). He is a voice actor with FUNimation and is represented by the Kim Dawson Agency. @chrisllewynramirez Aski “The Mayan Warrior” (Fight Coordinator) is a Professional Luchador with 20 years of experience, Actor, and Speaker based out of Dallas (Oak Cliff area), TX. Aski is a graduate of the Dogg Pound Wrestling Academy under the tutelage of Rodney “Red Dogg” Mack and Jazz. Aski has been mentored by Mexican Lucha Libre Legend Blue Demon Jr. Originally from Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico, Aski has performed and worked for some of the top wrestling companies from all over the U.S., Mexico, and Canada. Aski’s most recent work has been landing the lead in the action/slasher film “Aztek vs The Prowler”. Outside the ring, Aski has had the pleasure of representing Dallas and its community through his various community advocacy partnership programs. Aski is proud to be part of Prism Movement Theater’s Lucha Teotl as the fight coordinator.
Nicole Alvarez (Costume Designer) is a Latinx Costume and Hair & Makeup designer based out of Dallas, TX. She currently works as the Hair & Makeup Supervisor for the Dallas Theater Center, building and styling wigs, creating SFX makeup, and teaching beauty makeup. In addition to her design work, Nicole is a skilled hair stylist, makeup artist, and textile artisan, with her most recent photoshoot featured in the July issue of Southern Living Magazine. Jorge Amador (Sound Technician) has been back in Dallas doing Theatre for 4 years after getting his Bachelors in Theatre from the University of Central Oklahoma.. “I’m ecstatic to be working with Prism Movement theater on this amazing production of Lucha Toetl. Knowing everyone working on this show is putting their all in, I hope you all have a one of a kind Lucha Libre experience like no other!” Jacobe Beltran (Video Technical Director) Jacobe is pumped for his first show with Prism Movement Theater. He served as A2 on Shakespeare Dallas’ Hamlet Project. Jacobe graduated from Baylor University in May serving as Video Technical Director on Baskerville, Assistant Director on Marking Time, Video Editor on Urinetown and [title of show], and Videographer on CaBEARet. He would like to shout out his parents, Zulema, Zoe, and Stan Denman. Safwan Chowdhury (Projectionist) is a Bangladeshi-Muslim-American creative from Garland, Texas. He is a current senior Arts, Technology, and, Emerging Communications major at UT Dallas, focusing on projection mapping, sound design, and other live event production techniques. Safwan’s recent academic work includes Assistant Production Design/Projectionist for Oedipus the King and Sound Design for Faust at UTD. Professionally, he most recently served as Assistant Technical Director for the regional premiere of
Loving and Loving at Bishop Arts Theatre Center. Safwan could not be more excited to collaborate with this team in bringing this show to life. He is a big ‘ol mark (wrestling lingo for fan). Thanks to the team, his family, friends, teachers, his mentor Michael, and Daniel Bryan, the best wrestler in the world when Safwan first fell in love with wrestling. Amber Marie Flores (Davis) (Dance Choreographer) is so excited to be a part of this amazing show! Amber is a professional singer, actor, dancer and choreographer in the area. Her previous work includes: A Christmas Carol (Lucy, Guitarist, ensemble - Dallas Theatre Center), First Date (Casey - Stage West), A Doll’s house Part 2 (Emmy- Stage West), West Side Story (Rosalia- Casa Mañana), Jekyll and Hyde (Casa Mañana), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Hermia - Trinity Shakespeare Festival), Winter’s Tale (Perdita- Trinity Shakespeare Festival), The Comedy of Errors (Luciana - Trinity Shakespeare Festival) Lover’s and Executioners (Constance - Circle Theatre), Vanya & Sonia & Masha & Spike (Nina- Stage West), The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Lyric Stage), Newsies (Lyric Stage). Amber is a proud graduate of TCU (’14) IG: @Ambermarieacts22 Jonah Gutierrez (Technical Director/ Lighting Designer) – Jonah Gutierrez has been working as the lighting and scenic designer for Prism since its inception. From using a rudimentary work lamp, to designing an entirely wireless LED lighting grid, Jonah has been responsible for every major technical development Prism Movement Theater has experienced over its five-year long history. He started his career lighting concerts and commercial venues but came back to the stage using his experience to highlight movement, emotion, and space using light. This reason alone has given Jonah the passion he has when designing a Prism production. He wants to emphasize each moment and movement seamlessly, immersing the audience in the stage and story.
Matt Lancaster (Videographer/ Cameraman) is a writer, actor, and filmmaker based out of Dallas, Texas. A lifetime fan of Lucha Libre, he is honored to have been invited to be a part of telling these powerful legends through the lens of his favorite form of theatrical entertainment. Gabriela Leodiou (Stage Manager) is excited to be returning to the Elevator Project for the second time with Prism Movement Theater on Lucha Teotl. As a novice in the wrestling scene, the slam downs and fierce actors have already startled her several times in the rehearsal room, and she cannot wait for the audience to share in the same reactions. Previous SM Credits include; SMU Senior Dance Concert 2021 at Southern Methodist University, Things Missing/ Missed, The Bippy Bobby Boo Show 2020: Call in Special, The Savage Seconds, The Bippy Bobby Boo Show, Just Girly Things at Danielle Georgiou Dance Group; and Andi Boi, Little Women: The Musical, A Wrinkle in Time at Dallas Children’s Theater. Matt Smith (Set Designer) is a theatre designer based in Dallas. He is a graduate of Baylor University and has been working on educating the next generation of theatre makers at Mesquite High School. His previous set designs include Matilda Jr. at Genesis Children’s Theatre and Hay Fever at Baylor University. Max Torres (Cameraman) is excited to be a part of Prism Movement Theater and Elevator Project’s Lucha Teotl. Max is an actor, writer and filmmaker born and raised in Dallas. He has performed in numerous shows across DFW with companies like Teatro Dallas,
Artstillery, Dallas Children’s Theatre. This is his first production with Prism Movement Theater. Max continues to follow his passion for creativity and hopes to grow the Dallas art scene. Using his skills as a filmmaker, he hopes to capture the intensity of Lucha Libre on film. He is excited to be working with the whole cast and crew.
