Nothing Replaces The LIVE Experience - This is our mantra this year. It is time to get back to celebrating the arts in person, with shared experiences and inspiration. So often, I leave the theater awe-struck at what I’ve just experienced; that’s what we aim for. This season will not disappoint.
Dance is such a distinct art form. Luminous, arduous, meaningful and inspiring. “I’m overwhelmed; this was not what I expected.” This is the reaction I most often hear from audiences, something our longtime subscribers have always known. Our 40+ years of experience affords TITAS the unique perspective of looking back and appreciating the amazing impact that high-quality, curatorial arts presentation has on a community, on a city.
TITAS/DANCE UNBOUND continues to present the most innovative, the most remarkable artists touring the world today. It’s time for all of us to return to the extraordinary shared performance experience, to leave our devices off and experience art with all our senses. Nothing Replaces the LIVE Experience!!!
The 2023:24 season won’t disappoint. International, creative and breathtaking imagery makes this an exceptional set of the world’s most interesting movement artists. We proudly present a season of ten extraordinary companies from the United States, Japan, Canada, Israel and France. Four of these companies are making their Texas/Dallas debuts with TITAS.
Thank you for being a part of another year of breathtaking performances, and thank you for actively engaging in the arts and for being a part of the TITAS/DANCE UNBOUND and AT&T Performing Arts Center family.
What we do together, truly does make a difference.

BlueNav focuses on the unified calm during the storm. In times of uncertainty, it’s the rhythm of togetherness that keeps survival. He saved 75 men in combat trapped at the top of the escarpment.

ABOUT THE COMPANY
The TL Collective was founded by Micaela Taylor in 2016, ignited by her passion to create engaging, diverse, work. After a successful launch in LA of premiered work, Molecular Fuel, Taylor continued to create new works that were performed throughout intimate spaces in LA. PopMadness (2017), SeeColour (2018), and ROSEWOOD (2018). Due to rave reviews, in 2017 Taylor was commissioned to perform her work; PopMadness in Grand Performances which further exposed her work to the greater Los Angeles community. Since then, The TL has solidified their repertoire with commissions and presentations by Grand Park, Ford Amphitheatre, The Broad Stage, The ACE hotel, and Jacob's Pillow. The TL Collective is now on the rise as one of LA's emerging dance companies.
Micaela Taylor (Artistic Director) is a dancer, choreographer, and the Artistic Director, Founder, and Choreographer of the TL Collective. Trained in hip-hop and ballet, she has created her own dance genre called Expand Practice, exuding emotion from the core and creating varied physical shapes and textures as expressions of one’s authentic self. Her quirky style of exaggerated facial expressions, gesture, and athletic theatricality sets her work apart. Taylor created her own technique and is building The TL Collective all from the ground up. She received the Inaugural Springboard EMERGE Choreographic Award, was named in Dance Magazine’s “25 to Watch” in 2019, and graced the cover of Dance Magazine in April 2020, Most recently she was awarded San Francisco’s Audience choice Award for “Best Solo Artist.” A millennial herself, Taylor is a role model and influencer to aspiring BIPOC artists and is creating groundbreaking work that introduces commercial styles to concert dance. Taylor’s work has been presented at Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, The Broad Stage, Ford Amphitheatre, Institute of Contemporary Art Boston, and more. Alongside the launch of her company, Taylor has been commissioned to choreograph and teach by Rambert Dance Company, The Getty Museum, BODYTRAFFIC, Springboard Danse Montreal/Gibney Dance Company, Cleo Parker Robinson Dance, B12 Festival Berlin, Carlos Acosta’s Acosta Danza, and more. Upcoming commissions include Martha Graham Dance Company and a co-commission by Jacobs Pillow and American Dance Festival.
Sloan Caldwell (Dancer) is blessed to be an international freelance artist who is originally from the United States and lived many years abroad primarily in Amsterdam, Hong Kong, and London. She started dancing at age 8 with hip hop, jazz and contemporary and then attended high school at University of North Carolina School of the Arts where she studied ballet and classic modern techniques while developing my artistry and love for improvisation. Sloan further studied at London Contemporary Dance School exploring floorwork, Gaga, improvisation, capoeira and more. She has danced professionally with Salt 2 (Salt Lake City) and is now based out of Amsterdam with projects performed in Europe and the US.
Spencer Seebach (Dancer) (he/him) is a Los Angeles-based dance artist represented by Go2 Talent Agency. Born in Thousand Oaks, California, Spencer’s creativity and love for movement guided him to pursue dance at an early age. As a student, he studied at Bobbie’s School of Performing Arts and went on to graduate Magna Cum Laude from Chapman University in 2023 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance and a minor in Business Administration. During his studies, Spencer dove deeply into commercial, concert, and theater dance performing work by artists such as Paul Taylor and Ido Tadmor. While at school, he was awarded the Fannie Kallis Award for Outstanding Achievement in Dance (2022), and the Nancy Dickson-Lewis Excellence in Choreography Award (2023). Spencer’s commitment to artistic growth extends to prestigious summer programs, including the b12 Summer Festival, GagaLab NYC, and Entity Contemporary Dance. As a professional, he lives in the fusion of concert and commercial work, with credits including the Emmy Governors’ Ball with Phillip Bailey, and the Grammys’ After Party with Ne-Yo, as well as a multitude of stage and screen productions with choreographers such as Liz Imperio, Lea Ved, Monika Felice Smith, Matthew Peacock, and Igal Perry. Emma Sutherland (Dancer), currently residing in Los Angeles, Emma Sutherland was born in Frisco, Texas and trained extensively in various forms from a young age and eventually attended Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas, Texas. She performed various repertory from artists, including Aszure Barton, Lar Lubovitch, Loni Landon, and Annabelle Lopez Ochoa. In 2019, Emma was named a YoungArts winner in modern dance and Presidential Scholar in the Arts. These experiences allowed her to collaborate and perform with musicians, visual artists, and filmmakers. They were influential in Emma's decision to attend the prestigious Glorya Kaufman School of Dance at the University of Southern California and receive a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. At USC Kaufman, Emma continued her multidisciplinary training, focusing on concert, contemporary, and commercial dance styles. Additionally, she received a minor from the USC School of Cinematic Arts to explore the collaboration of dance, film, and multimedia art. While at USC Kaufman and post-graduation (2023), she has performed works by Merce Cunningham, Jirí Kylián, Ohad Naharin, Justin Peck, Peter Chu, Yin Yue, Micaela Taylor and William Forsythe, among others. Emma is passionate about performance and film and how the incorporation of other mediums into dance enhances the experiences of both artists and audiences. She aims to continue her experiences performing professionally in both concert and commercial settings as she applies her interdisciplinary interests in dance and cinematic arts as well as other mediums to continue researching and exploring dance through a broader lens.
