URBAN CONEXT ANALYSIS
This was the order of human institutions: first the forests, after that the huts, then the village, next the cities and finally the academies. With the rising development of human civilisation, the characteristic of the landscape becomes more productive where its crucial identity was conflicting and lost under the existing context. Reviewing the existing urban context, the university campus is isolated from the city center by rings of rails and highways. The inconvenience leads to the predominant domination of vehicles on public spaces which hinder their functionalities, particularly the parked cars. In terms of site context, scattered location of buildings ambiguates spatial center and axis where corridors are hardly to be developed. These challenges resulted public spaces malfunctioning, as these spaces do not have the substance of coexistence, interaction and the redundancy of which shared life brings. They currently lack mobility, leisure and the representation of activity space, nor a place to demonstrate neighborhood relationship. Therefore, our vision aims to reconfigure the landscape to whisper its personality by evoking the sense of place in the public spaces of the university, to serve as a meeting place that promotes communication. Our programme involves encouragement of effective green and public spaces with well connectivity that improve the wellbeing of the university stakeholders. By reconstructing the herterogeneous characteristic of the campus center, we wish our project could bond the neighbourhood and procures public dignity by establishing sense of belonging.

The wetland square at the south of the university campus is a signature development as part of our aim. Wetland acts as ecological shelter to establish microhabitat and improves the biodiversity of the campus. Waterbodies with woodland also stablise microclimates during the hot season in summer. The outdoor studio reacts with the library. It allows students to study in a urban forest and enjoy the outdoors whilst having to stay inside an enclosed area. Shading from the canopies conserves cooling energy which is environmental and economical friendly. It also allows students to experience the nature.
