Founded in 1718, the Vienna Porcelain Manufactory is the second oldest in Europe. Today, as in the past, Viennese porcelain is handmade and painted. This way each customer purchases a unique piece. Since it‘s inception, the designs of the Porcelain Manufactory Augarten have been created in cooperation with well-known artists. Young designers are also actively incorperated in the development of designs. We produce our pieces in the heart of Vienna with the highest environmental consciousness and regards to sustainability. Our lasting values have been carried on for 300 years. Porcelain from the Viennese manufactory is nothing less than an Austrian institution. Horses have always been an important category for the assortment of figurines at the Viennese manufactory. The purity of porcelain is perfectly suited to create powerful yet delicate figurines.

Robert Ullmann was a true master of horse representations. The Shying Horse as well as the Racing Horse were designed by him in 1950. Time seems to be standing still for these figurines as they are captured in motion.
