echnology and innovation are two elements that are part of our daily life, whether it is on a daily basis or business and economic level. This is why it is necessary to educate ourselves on the digital world in order to face the challenges that await us in the next years. We have several tools to reach this objective, such as Campus Party, a technology party that lead us to know amazing leaders, such as Steve Wozniak, Esther Wokcicki, Paul Zaloom, Diego Molano and Jorge Vergara, among others. My sincere thanks to Raúl Martín Purcel for his excellent work leading this great event.

H
uman work is being replaced by automation, which represents an employment opportunity where technology plays a key role. Automation is not a new process, it has been done for many centuries now and it is linked to the technologic advances of cultures. For example, thanks to the first industrial revolution in England, many people lose their jobs because they were substituted by steam machines.

And now, with the fourth industrial revolution, developed and sustained in information, there will be a significant level of unemployment because bots will replace the human effort. A bot is the logic of software capable of making human activities. You can add different actions to a bot, such as view through cameras, audio with microphones and movement through gps. All of these with the use of artificial intelligence. Companies are already replacing their employees with bots due to the low cost and high productivity that they represent. This process started more than 10 years ago, however until these days is that we are learning more about it; it is expected that nearly 45% of the current jobs will transform to automation.
However, the picture is not all negative, there are solutions ahead, for example: the economy of automation. This means that the automated businesses that generate more profits, will have to pay more taxes to the government, which will be translated into pensions for people. This measure is already being implemented in Finland and Alaska. The second solution is that bots will need people to manipulate them and give them maintainance. Therefore, there will be job opportunities in areas of systems and technology. Technology is synonym of evolution and growth, both economy and social in the countries that implement it.
Some areas with greater advances are: finances, accountability, customer service, human resources, restaurants, drivers, medical services and even some creative works like music and design. The bot is a virtual employee, and according to researches made in United States, a company spends nearly 12,000 usd per year, in contrast with a person’s salary of 80,000 usd per year. For that matter, the unemployment rate will increase instead of decreasing.

he Auge of Mexican manufacture corresponds to several factors; the main one is foreign investment. Also, the different treaties and free trade agreements with over 40 countries that have enable the convenient exportation of Mexican products. The different levels of the Mexican government have granted facilities to Mexican and foreign companies to establish their production and research centers. The north, west and the plateau areas of our country have the greater part of companies that develop different products, among which stood out the automobiles, electronic gears, electric and computer equipment, among other devices that are sent to different points of the world. There are two branches that stand out within manufacture: electronics and automotive. The last one has presented high growth levels because the production of transportation equipment has scored records in production matters, placing the country within the top ten vehicle producers in the world.
Regarding electronics and technology, transnational companies such as Flextronics, Samsung, Intel, HP, Panasonic, and Foxconn, among others, found that the Mexican talent is an efficient tool for the elaboration of their products, which are sent to cities in United States, Canada, Colombia, Sweden and The Netherlands. According to inegi, this sector has employed more than 458,563 people in the last two years, and it is expected to keep growing. Mexican manufacturing is a great incentive for economy and society. It gives a hallmark to our country and creates greater incomes than the oil industry, in addition of being a significant source of employment. The future of manufacture looks promising with a significant growth, since the Mexican ecosystem gives all the facilities to the companies to promote the quality of “Made in Mexico.

“In cumulative terms, Jalisco registers a total of 48,344 new positions generated in the first semester of the 2017, breaking the record in the creation of formal jobs in the state.” José Palacios Jiménez.
The capital of Jalisco has diverse elements that make it an ideal place for the development of technology, reason why several companies have established their plants in the metropolitan area and throughout the state. These companies are evolving to industry 4.0 to adapt to the needs of our era and to continue consolidating their industrial strength.
According to figures from IMSS, Jalisco is the greatest generator of jobs in the country is the last year. This is related to the current openings of plants and firms development centers such as Astra-Zeneca and Nestlé. Moreover, in the next months, companies from the technology sector from United States, Germany and Israel will begin operations in our state.
Even though local companies have been encouraged to implement high technology in their processes, also transnational companies have been invited to invest in our state. Thanks to the positive results, Jalisco has gained the recognition as “The Mexican Silicon Valley”, but the goal of the state government is to obtain more investments in order to generate more jobs and welfare for society.
Jalisco is a benchmark in the generation of jobs, social integration and economic development for Mexico with technology and innovation in every labour field settled in the region.

Artificial intelligence, automation, education and training in the technology sector will rule our contexts. We, Latinos, must be ready to face the challenges within. I can relate the birth of my daughter with this situation. Ever since my wife was pregnant, I began to think about the world that my daughter will live in, and I know that it will be an environment where technology and information will rule every aspect of the human life. From starters, artificial intelligence is already working in social networks. For example, when I talk with my wife about the suspect of pregnancies in Facebook, this platform showed me advertisements of baby products. The same happened with Google. This happens because when we open accounts or profiles, we give all of our information. This is where artificial intelligence comes into play since it analyzes what you like and your conversations to offer you content and products related with your data. Without knowing it, we give away our information to strangers. But these actions are part of a globalization that will never stop. Through the networks and other platforms, we know people from different places, we make business in other places and we work for companies that are thousands of miles away with the use of internet and computing systems. Another situation that my daughter, as well as thousands of Latinos, will face is unemployment. Several companies will completely become automate. Bots that use artificial intelligence will replace humans and every industry will have to evolve; from the industry of transportation, construction, education, marketing and even illegal businesses.
In addition of bots, the lack of preparation of universities in the technologic environment makes the graduates less appealing for the companies. And for those that are already working, many of the lack talent or technologic knowledge. What is the solution to strengthen Latina America? The governments, enterprises and society must understand that technology is the key to transform and evolve. Education models have to focus in technologic education. Universities and society will have to show interest in developing and handle technology and guide the others to the correct use of internet. Latin Americans have the potential to be leaders in digital transformation, this territory offers great opportunities for that, and, mainly, it guarantees a better life quality for us and our descendants.

Greentech: construction and mobility Climate change and its harmful effect have pushed governments, private companies and society to take urgent actions on the matter. One of these actions is sustainable technology applied to construction and mobility, which, with the help of technology, are already showing positive results. Sustainable technology or greentech stand up for the replacement of renewable energies (solar, wind, tidal and geothermic) and the use of high tech to solve the issues in two sectors: construction and mobility.
p. 22
www.grupoauge.com.mx
Innovation / Technology / Design
In order to make these, we need to eradicate the use of carbon as a source of energy, the need of renewable elements and the use of elements on great amounts; we also need to stop social inequality and hidden costs. Smart buildings In the field of construction, companies of this sector are working on a global scale to search sustainability in the management of energy, for example, that a building can be capable of creating its own renewable energy at rational costs. The same happens with the consumption of water; it must be controlled. Rain water should be treated through the building’s own water plant. Regarding plants, they must be able to use less water and resist every season. Another element take into consideration is the quality of the inner spaces, for example, that the design of buildings can be capable of providing natural lights, air entrances, control of electricity in a technology form, and, even the sound quality must improved in order to reduce noise pollution.
The future of mobility When it comes to transportation, it is expected that it will evolve to multimodal transport, in other words, that a person can move through different mediums, and that the car can be part of this chain, not only through one object. Moreover, artificial intelligence will be an ally for this purpose. Currently, several companies like Bosch, Apple or Amazon are investing millions in the development of smart transportation models for people and merchandise to optimize services. In the same way, apps come into play since each day they become more sophisticated in order to provide more information in real time about traffic, routes and geolocation. Every renewable technology use in construction and mobility are the sum of a multidisciplinary effort that is part of the needs of society and the progress of technology. They give solutions to ensure a better quality and the preservation of our planet.
Sustainable technology or greentech defends the use of renewable energies and high technology to solve the issues of construction and mobility.

One of the main actors in the digital era is John Farrell, Director of YouTube for Latin America and with a career in Google. A strong believer of technology and its benefits for society, he decided to support those interested in investing in the digital through a venture capital called acelera. Grupo Auge had the honor of chatting with him during his participation in Digital Economy Show, an event where he talked about the challenges that Mexico and Latin American countries face in technology matters.
What does the effect of technology in society represents to you? Experience that directing YouTube Latin America opened my horizons with regard to technology; an element that is slowly adhering to our essence as human beings and that is part of a transcendental event in the history of mankind. Currently, we are immersed in a new industrial revolution; we went from the creation of manufacture and computer equipment to the developing of work based on artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, biotechnology, nanotechnology and quantum computer. ÂżCĂłmo visualizas el futuro prĂłximo? In this new stage, which will reach its Auge and consolidation in a couple of years, we will see automated cards, 3D organ printing, the connection of our brain with prosthesis and diverse bionic objects, specialized medicine, appliances connected through the Internet of Things, among others.

What will be the technologic and digital trends with greater impact in daily life? Artificial intelligence is the bridge for men and machines to transform in just one. It sounds crazy, but it is a reality. Through the internet, efficient telecommunication networks and new gadgets, we access to a sea of information, such as location, services, entertainment, and even health and safety. Another product of this evolution is virtual reality, which is moving hastily. With it, we put layers in our physical world to move to ancient worlds, far ecosystems, risks simulations and, also, to entertain us. Virtual reality, along with other projects that use graphics, sophisticated software, and strong hardware, are also looking towards
education. Apps to see the splendor of Egyptian civilization have been developed, apps to train surgeons in an operating room and even designing and flying airplanes. What is the role of Latin America in the global technology development? The overview of innovation and creation in the digital sector of Latin America is going well. There are several ideas of Mexicans, Colombians or Argentineans, that are at the same level than the innovations of more developed countries in the area. This was an element that drove me to start a venture capital fund with the aim of supporting these entrepreneurs. Although the future looks fund and innovating, the forth industrial revolution will face several challenges, especially in Latin America. In the
first place, benefits won’t be even, since it will be a factor for inequality. The access of gears or systems with artificial intelligence won’t be at the reach of everyone due to economic, social, educational and political reasons. Another challenge is that, with the increase of automation in companies, the unemployment rate will also increase. For example, the companies with greater earnings such as Google, Facebook or Apple, have only a 10% of employees, compared to great corporate monsters like General Motors, Ford or Chrysler. How can we overcome the challenges that Industry 4.0 brings along? The next battles are for everyone, government, companies and society; to fight them, we must think on solutions starting p. 27

today, solutions that go along with the potential growth of technology. Nations like Finland and Sweden are an example of this. What can the Mexican entrepreneur do to reach success in digital matters? Beyond obsessing with progress, the longawaited goal, we must think on what we are currently doing to ensure that society participates in every advance, which will benefit us all. For this reason, I invite you to ask yourself: what am I doing, besides taking care of me and my family, to ensure that our communities and societies take part on these breakthroughs?

But, what does a business person or entrepreneur need to get the required technology? In my experience as a businessman, I invite you to pay attention to the platforms of investment funds. To reach success, it is important for a technology entrepreneurship project to have the correct structure, based in analysis and consulting. With this characteristics, the project will be more appealing to investors. In the investment funds platforms, especially in JBGG, you can find national and foreign investors with the guarantee that they have worked with projects related with science and technology. The project can also gain the interest of investors from other countries and to have their product developed in a different country. This would be possible thanks to the relationship with the International Business Council. The platform that jbgg has, guarantees and shows investors the benefits of their investment and if it is profitable. The agreements settled between company and investor are ruled by legal norms. An example of success was a Costa Rican software company that came to us, after analyzing and appraising it, we worked on a financial model and found its investor, who found this company very appealing. The challenge for Mexico is to increase investments in companies or startups that are interested in developing technology. Nonetheless, it is really important that companies approach to qualified organisms to be valued and guided by experts with the goal of increasing their attraction level for investors.

Without a doubt, the consumer is the most important element for a company’s success for many years. But, currently, companies are facing a significant challenge: captivate the audience in a world ruled by technology. Through Idea Couture, and along with a multidisciplinary team of experts, we try to make the companies to understand the needs of consumers to design products and services that respond to these needs. This way, companies will have more presence and success. One of the strategies that we implement to achieve such target is through thinking design; a methodology where a person is the center of the process. The work of multidisciplinary experts related with arts, psychology, anthropology and engineering, among others, has great significance in order to achieve this. The main premise is to take place in the mind of the person that will acquire the product. In addition of design thinking, the company also applies foresight, which tells us the future of the things, the industry and the consumers. Each time that we apply this techniques, we realize different things, for example, that there is a great offer of products, that people now acquire things easier and faster; and that consumers look for companies and products to connect with in an emotional way. Currently, the challenge of companies, both, national and international, is to correlate with the consumer through a personal connection, that understands their problems and that gives them a solution. Moreover, that these solutions are display through diverse digital platforms, especially social networks, to have a greater reach and potential consumers. If a company innovates and adapts, both to the emotional needs of a consumer such as technology, it will continue its success and will ensure the welfare of its personnel.

Crowfunding THE POWER OF PEOPLE Financing a dream or objective doesn’t depend anymore on banking institutions, now people can do it on their own thanks to an economic system that joins efforts with technology. hose who contribute with money to a certain project receive rewards such as gifts, personal thank you notes, and services in exchange, and sometimes and according to the obtained success, a small retribution. The origin of this system, whose rising is in process thanks to the help of technology and social networks, goes back to the XVIII century in Ireland. Although, it wasn’t until the end of the last century when it developed in a massive scale thanks to a British rock band that asked for help to finance their tour. During the first decade of the third millennium, crowfunding was implemented in areas like music and social causes. There was also a digital platform being developed, Kickstarter, mostly known for its financing to diverse projects, such as artistic, humanitarian, sports, technological, and even school trips. In Mexico, crowfunding has had its success mainly among young people. According to an institution specialized in the matter, there are four categories in our country: donation, debts, rewards and capital. Among these, the following stand out: Fondeadora, Prestadora, Fondify, Donadora, Kubo, Financiero and Microcochinito.
Crowfunding offers different advantages for society, such as: - When the desired amount is gathered by the entrepreneurs, it means an acceptance of the product in the market. Otherwise, it is necessary to reformulate the idea in order to avoid disappointing. - Investors become actionists and cofounders of the project. - Beyond the economic part, investors obtain an emotional guarantee, in other words, they contribute with something significant or new for their community, therefore, they will be part of history. Crowfunding proves the power of people; when people come together, great things can happen, because this funding is not only about money, it helps to build dreams. p. 47

To understand the need of the current entrepreneur, I will make an historical resemblance with the critic thinking, which began 400 years B.C. with the concern of helping mankind to think in a systematic form. It was Socrates who developed the first method based on questions to approach to the truth of a situation. 1,600 years after, Saint Thomas Aquinas, a theologian, stood out for his readings and studies on every intellectuals of the time in order to make a vast and consistent synthesis of the human thinking since Aristotle. Saint Thomas Aquinas played a significant role, never before seen, as benchmark and model of the human thinking. It isn’t until the French Illustration that through the most characteristic work of that time, “Encyclopedia” or “Systematic Dictionary of the Sciences, Arts, and Crafts”, which promoted a way of thinking. From this moment on, there are great scientific advances, and Francis Bacon in England, Descartes in France, are the ones that worried on telling us how to use our minds to search for knowledge. Bacon, in his book “The Advance of Learning”, expresses the significance of studying the world empirically, settling the basis of modern science regarding the processes of obtaining information. On the other hand, Descartes developed a methodology of thinking, emphasizing the need of thought to be based on well-thinking through fundamental assumptions. In the XX century, in 1906, William Graham Sumner published a significant study, “Folkways”, where he documented the trend of the human mind to sociocentric thinking, and with this, the schools had a new function of teaching without using the judgment, therefore, Graham warned about the great need of teaching the use of critical thinking. All of this lead us to the development of the current entrepreneur, who lacks a deep capacity of using the tools of thinking with inventiveness of the 21st century to create new ideas and concepts systematically, and with this, create innovative business models with high impact.
These tools have a systematic sequence formed by the next subjects: anthropology, mental maps, analogies, functionalities, the ideal final result, contradictions, the source contradiction, alternative solutions, beginnings of invention for physical changes, sequences, the way of connecting, the 9 windows, evolution trends, false assumptions, satisficing, grouping and building of ideas, evaluating and classifying them to develop a concept that allows a disruptive model of a starting business. The entrepreneur that is able to master the tools for inventive thinking will add creativity and knowledge; systematic skills of creating concepts that are translated in high impact business models.

VIRTUAL REALITY IN EDUCATION The next evolution in education will be made with the support of virtual reality, which allows a greater attention, learning and knowledge of far or unimaginable contexts. The challenge will be to adapt the mind to the gears. Virtual reality appears as an innovation tool in the education domain. Nowadays, countries like United States, England and Japan, are developing devices and programs with the goal of sharing knowledge that captures students and that they can capture it completely.

ccording to researches made in London, the attention of students that use virtual reality increased from 46 to 86 percent. What developers and professors look from this tool is to create a high engagement with young people, engagement that they can’t reach through traditional classes. In addition, some companies of the aeronautic sector and even the Arm Forces of United States are starting to substitute the practices in airplane to virtual reality simulators. This type of training, in addition of reducing costs, also adapts better to the new generations of students. Nonetheless, virtual reality continues in improving stages because the first assimilation of the user is not easy. The challenges that it faces are about the correct management of presence and embodiment. Both concepts relate with brain. Presence refers that the mind identifies the place where it is, and embodiment is about the belonging of body to the virtual. However, our human condition automatically rejects what isn’t real, and that phenomenon is known as “Theory of Uncanny Valley”. In technology matters, developers are working on making virtual reality like mirrors of the human mind and senses like vision and hearing. In less than 30 years, and in a multidisciplinary way, virtual reality has resolved problems on optics, resolution, processing and speed. Mexico is working on the efficient promotion of this tool and to create didactic content to improve the education sector of the country.

inspiration behind the plastic artist: ALEJANDRO LOCCOCO In order to get to know the artist, we must first know his art. In Auge de México, we pay tribute to one of the most representative modern artist of the West. His passion and commitment is captured in his paintings. In this edition, we share with you two pieces selected by the author.
The author based this inspiration in the love that couple have at the moment of seduction. The classic rooster, named “the chicken”, awakens and falls in love of “the pigeon” with his morning singing. The pigeon represents the partner and the different personalities that exist between the partners of the same gender, this is why the author decided to use a chicken and a pigeon as a couple, even though this would be impossible, in the creative imagination, everything can happen.

Simón Cruz: A dos manos
The new exhibition of Simón Cruz in the facilities of MIND in Guadalajara, is a tribute to the outstanding sculptor, Jonás Gutiérrez. Other artists from Jalisco joined the exhibition with interesting interpretations of Gutiérrez works. As one of the most outstanding artists in the plastic scene of Jalisco, Simón Cruz is gifted with a special awareness that guides him to break the classic styles to approach his interior. This way, the multidisciplinary artist presents a new exhibition. A dos manos comprises a journey through different expressions such as painting, photography, and sculpture, among others. Even though the exhibition is a work of Cruz, he invited other colleagues to intervene in his creations, such as Jessica Gadga, José Fors, Claudia Huízar and Gabriela Sodi. The author considers this exhibit to be an inclusive project, as well as a personal challenge, since this is the first time that his artwork is reinterpret in an artistic way. Moreover, this is the opportunity to promote ideas, express freedom and multiplicity of senses. At the end, the result is rewarding since there is a synergy between artists and non-artists with the goal of making an exceptional tribute to Jonás Gutiérrez, whose works are admired in different places in Jalisco. Those who appreciate the collection, can transform, complement and even alter the order of the pieces that Simón Cruz has arrange to build new stories with the goal of creating a poetic of emotions and delusions. A dos manos is the reflection of the artist as a man that is open to diverse languages and foundations, a man able to achieve the exchange of ideas, learning and recreation. A dos manos invites us to experiment a an approximation to the piece and to acknowledge in each piece, the path created by each artist.

His relationship with the paint brush started since he was little, but life guided him to odontology. In spite of practicing his career, he never forgot his love for arts, and in 1990 he abandoned his career to focus on painting. Now, Sáenz has more than 100 personal exhibitions and 150 in collective, made in Mexico and in the world. Living in different places of the world and knowing different traditions has influenced his style: popular painting. Also, the works of Diego Rivera or María Izquierdo were key for him in order to find his artistic character. In his paintings, made with acrylic or oil painting, we can appreciate towns with red tiles and white walls, popular festivities, flowers like Alcatraz, watermelon, skulls, virgins and fighting cocks filled with symbols that talk of the Mexican idiosyncrasy. Chapultepec Arts Stroll For this creator, art is a tool to help other and show the talent of other colleagues. This is why it was created the Chapultepec Arts Stroll, a collective that gathers more than 80 artists that offer paintings, engraving, sculptures, jewelry and decorations. The main mission of the collective is to show the Mexican art and the painters of Jalisco, as well as offering a place for the citizens where they can develop their painting skills and also to promote the general interest for culture. This space is open for those interested in displaying their works, no matter their nationality or style. Those who are part of the collective, assure that the atmosphere around them is cordial, and that through the months, they have become a family that seeks the common good through the arts. Rafael Sáenz Félix represents a pride to our country because of his work and the collective that he created, since he brought back a style that was created here, and, that along with the Mexican mural painting “muralism”, are a significant piece of the world’s art history.

A satisfaction obtained through the years in charge of the Ministry of Tourism of Guanajuato is to make the state a national and international benchmark in tourism. The result is the naming of the city as the best city in the world. Because of its cosmopolitan and high tourist level features, San Miguel de Allende was elected as the best city in 2017. This popular destination has been included in national and international rankings. Since 2010, its historic center is considered a World’s Heritage by unesco. Factors like service quality, accommodation, hospitality, gastronomy, cleanliness, shopping experience, mobility, cultural activities and its gorgeous architecture made the city worthy of such recognition. To reach this goal, government, enterprises and the civil society work together to understand the dynamics of a global tourism. Now, people are looking for destinations with cultural wealth with the goal of knowing and experimenting gastronomy, admiring the heritage and living the traditions. This naming emphasizes that the tourist offer of our country is not only about beaches. We have a great offer of cities and magic towns where we appreciate the roots of our celebrations and customs, which also bring us closer to our past. In Guanajuato, we have several examples of this, which we will continue to develop and promote. While Guanajuatenses and all Mexicans celebrate this designation, we are also committed to continue with actions like public cleaning, waste management, conservation of public buildings, and the innovation in infrastructure of communications to attract more investment in tourism matters.

Amaitlán is a Nahuatl word that means “land of rest”. The city is designed for families to have social and healthy stability. The concept of its planning has 3 main aspects: environment, society and quality of life. The creative mind behind this is the Brazilian town planner and politician Jaime Lerner. In his experience as mayor in Curitiba, he organized a plan of urban and sustainable development that didn’t affect the environment; model that has been copied in cities like Bogota, Medellin, Seoul and Shanghai. Since the project s located in the costs of the Pacific, Lerner pretends that the inhabitants of Amaitlán can live in a sustainable and healthy environment by using solar energy, elect cars, treated waters, rainwater collection, and underground wiring among other pro-environment measures. The city is the only one of its kind in America; it will have residential areas, hotels, hospitals, schools, docks and piers for different ships, water canals and an 18 km beach to enjoy. Its location is exceptional because it is in a strip that has a clear weather, shared with the French Riviera, Florida Keys and Hawaii. Moreover, the wet conditions of Mazatlán propel an everlasting green throughout the year. Amaitlán will be an economic boost for the state of Sinaloa and for the country. It will create nearly 90,000 jobs, as well as promoting the creation of new towns with ecologic conscience, the growth of maritime infrastructure and national and foreign investment that will boost our country in ecologic and economic matters.

He stated that this strategy was approved by the Federal government, and that it will promote the quality and manufacture of the products made in Mexico. Moreover, the governor of Jalisco, Aristóteles Sandoval expressed his support to the initiative, which will meet the needs of the tourist market through the quality of Mexican provisions. Connect to tourism derives from an issue that has been detected through studies that show that the hotel and restaurant industries in the country register sales of goods and services that exceed 9 billion dollars; however, 60% of these sales were imported. In addition of sectur’s help, the project has the collaboration of the Confederation of Industrial Chambers (concamin) and the National Association of Hotel Chains (anch). These alliances will connect the sector with several industries, which will help to strengthen the productivity in companies to achieve a more effective development. Connect to tourism represents a great opportunity because having a synergy program in the tourist sector will promote Mexican products and capitalize projects that create a greater economic income to the different related activities. A platform to create more than 1,200 business appointments between sales managers and hotel and restaurant owners will be created and it will increase the incomes of suppliers. The sectors that will be more benefited are: fresh and processed food, construction materials, furniture, textiles, decoration, hygiene and cleaning products and electric material.

Many people think that videogames are useless or that they are only for time wasting, but I found a different and beneficial use for society: therapy for autistic children. The path to achieve this goal wasn’t’ easy, but at the end, I had my reward. My relationship with videogames has everything to do with my dream of creating apps. It all started with my first iPhone. When I saw its functions and everything that it offered, I engaged on making something that could appear in the gear. In high school and university, I learned everything related to programming in order to develop apps. I leaned on resources offered in other platforms and gathered enough information that I wasn’t really applying correctly. Although I wanted to give up, I found my motivation: the Apple Design Award. This event awards the most outstanding on software development and Apple hardware. Then I made a videogame app and signed up. Although I didn’t win, I caught the attention of an American company. In 2016, being still a student, I participated again in the event with Linium, a videogame for the development of skills in children with autism. To create this, I needed a team made by psychologists, therapists, and even the support of parents to catch the attention of the children and to get them to learn. Throughout its existence, Linium has suffered many updates that are a result of researches and reactions of its target audience. My intention with this is to contribute to society through my knowledge and skills. I don’t want it to be just a game, but a tool to support solutions to a disorder that has been unattended in Mexico. I never imagined that the dream of creating an app would become true, and much less, that it would be recognized with an award. This award represents two things: that the Mexican talent is capable of innovating, and that if you wish, a videogame can be an efficient tool for society.

According to reports from different organisms, Mexico is wasting the recycling options, being the having the first place in Latin America on waste generation. The National Institute on Statistics and Geography (INEGI by its Spanish acronym) informs that of the 86,000 tons of garbage that are produced in big cities like Mexico City, Guadalajara or Monterrey, only 11% has another use. Although this represents a severe problem, it is also a great opportunity to tap a new economic sector. National actionists and companies such as PetStar, Verdek, Promotora Ambiente or Scrapital (the last one with the use of digital platforms) are examples of the profitability that garbage represents. The most used materials in the industry of recycling are: cardboard, paper, ferrous and non ferrous materials, synthetic fabric, polyethylene, rubber, cans, polyurethane, and clear and colored glass. Also, the organic products have another use, such as leather, vegetable hard fiber, food waste, bones, wood, cotton, crockery, ceramics and construction material. The future of recycling as source of economic income is promising. According to the National Association of Plastic Industries (ANIPAC by its Spanish acronym), the industry in Mexico is valued in nearly 3 billion dollars per year with a continuous growth. Currently, the companies and members of the productive chain recycling have the challenge that, both, government and more entrepreneurs become more interested in investing and increasing infrastructure and technology to recycle. The recycling industry is a great opportunity to help the planet, a business that meets the needs of society and a source of economic development for the nations interested in the environment.

With this philosophy, the French humanist continues its mission of sharing mechanisms to find peace and spiritual health in our country. In addition of his workshops and meditations, Mey confirmed the production of his second film. Peace in ourselves Throughout the years, René Mey has spread his message around the world, and through his words, thousands of people have found the long-awaited comfort and intelligence. The mind plays an important role in the stability of people. According to Mey, meditation stimulates our brain to make its introspection and hence, there will be an awareness raising that unleashes the desired healing. The intelligence that is developed through meditation also works as an incentive to heal physical discomfort, and even chronic diseases. The desired change and stability depend on each person’s work on his or her mind and spirit. His message in the movies René Mey’s adventure on the movies is not new. In 2010, he launched his first movie: “HIM, Beyond the Light”, where he showed the existence of a way of life where love, intelligence and spirituality lead to stability. Now, the main theme of his next movie will be love and its different expressions. He will reflect upon homosexuality and the negative aspects of rejection. The causes of this social condition have been studied, and experts agree that it is a cultural cause, since the majority of the societies in the world have a patriarchal structure, in other words, they are controlled by men. To men, women are weak; they must be quiet and could never be leaders. Centuries ago, the female role was confined to being a mother, in charge of the house duties and committed to serve her partner, assigning her oppression and inequality as partners. Since the xviii century, feminist movements emerged to put an end to this ideology, but it wasn’t until the xix and xx centuries that the movements began to see results. The first step on this fight was the achievement of the right to vote; New Zealand being the first nation to grant the women’s vote in 1893. In the case of Mexico, women were not able to vote until 1953. Now, more than 60 years after this milestone, the situation of women on national level is concerning. According to inegi’s Gender Atlas, 62.77% of women have suffered physical violence. The study also reveals that the states of Puebla, Michoacán, Nayarit, Mexico, San Luis Potosí and Zacatecas present high violence levels against women that live with their partner. In addition, it shows that only 9.4% of the municipal presidencies are lead by women, and the amount of public servers continues with a smaller figure. Thanks to the efforts of the government and civil society, now, each November 25 commemorates the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, a strategy to eradicate misogyny and every type of aggression. The sexist violence present in media and institutions is part of this great issue, which constitutes a terrible offense to human dignity. To fight it, it is necessary to educate society in matters of gender equality so that men and women can reflect upon the role that each one of them has in society. Moreover, comprehension of society towards the victims and the reports of violence are extremely important. With these efforts, we will reach a comprehensive development in matters of respect of the human rights in Mexico.
