JANUARY 2023
GreetingsLions
My new year is starting to get busy. In January, I attended the Mid-Year Forum, a Region Meeting and the Swearing In of Leos at Shepard High School.
For the month of February, I have 3 Governors Nights scheduled, a Council of Governors Meeting in East Peoria and a Cabinet Meeting. If you are looking for something to do on Superbowl several clubs are having fundraisers that day.
District 1A has its 80th District Bowling Tournament on February 26, at Lisle Lanes. This is always a great event and we have a lot of fun. Please sign up for a day of fellowship and fun. This would be a perfect time to bring a future member to introduce them to other lions.
The District 1A Convention March 24, 25 & 26 at the Westin in Itasca. The theme is Revving it up in District 1A. Register early and we now have online registration. Come enjoy the hospitality rooms, and fellowship. You can sign up for the package and that includes 3 meals and redistration for just $120.
So far this year the District is a plus 71. Thank you for all of your work and dedication in recruiting and retaining members. Lion Bonnie and I will be in Daytona from February 15 – 21, for the big race.
Until next month. Together We Can!

Global Membership Approach
We continue our new year a plus in membership. We added 198 new members to the clubs, while losing 128 members from clubs. We added 20 by transferring or reinstating members, we also lost 12 to deaths. We sit at a plus 70 for February 1st. All clubs are in good standing with Lions International. Thank You!
Membership Development &Club Rebuilding:
We have started some community outreach to leaders in the Garfield Ridge, Archer Heights and Clearing communities of Chicago. If you have any family or friends in that area that you think would make good Lions please send their contact information to: jointhelionstoday@gmail.com. We have some interest; we need to get them together so we can organize. But as always, we will follow any leads that might help us develop an area. Don’t hesitate to pass on any information you might have about starting a club.

Member Satisfaction:
We should all be working together on membership satisfaction!
You can see above we have 128 members dropped this year. Five clubs make up over 50% of these drops. 71% of our clubs are active in membership. 29 clubs added members this year, 18 are a plus. 28 clubs dropped members this year, 16 of those are a minus. We did to good for January, we added 7 new members, we also dropped 6 members, but 4 were do to deaths. You can’t control that.
Together we can strengthen our clubs. Stronger clubs provide more service. Clubs growing and providing more service, Strengthens our District and Lions International. TogetherWeCan!
