Multi Talented Tauro Family

Herald, Prescilla, Nihal & Nishan

Every human being who is born on this earth is filled with God given talents. Its left to us to make use of those God given talents and shine. Even though some people have the talents, they do not make use of them and hide them. Their talents become weak and when they try to lighten up their talents, it is too late. Today God gave me various talents. I grow my talents; I am not bosting

about my talents. I tried my best to present my talents to the public and earned a small name for myself. I had just finished my pre university college (12th grade) and my father’s health got worst. That time he was working in a society bank in Mudbidri. He couldn’t continue his work due to health. Bank officials offered his job, and I could not continue my bachelor’s degree

for the bank. Until I completed my 12th grade, I or others didn’t know my talents. During my studies, I never sang a single song and never played any music instrument.

In 1994 Late Rev. Fr. Denis Castelino came Alangar as our parish priest. When I met him for the first time, and continued our conversation, I told him that I love music a lot. “Oh, really?” he said and showed interest in me. He told me that he has one

Without any practice and without any one’s trainnig I was able play some some songs. People at home were getting irritated. To avoid this, I took the harmonium outside, sat under one tree and started playing.

All day until I get tired, I played this harmonium. After that, the same parish priest and some parisheners asked me to play harmonium for the church choir.

While I was playing as a novice on single key, without chords, I was making some mistakes and the

people in the church were laughing at me. Then harmonium expert and parishener Thomas Miranda encouraged me and supported me by saying I can do it. He inspired me

with hope. I went forward. Until now I did not take any training to sing or play instrument. I utilized my God given talents and without missing a day, for the past 20 years I have been serving the choir as Choir Master. This is the story of my music

drama, I too went to see the play. I gave that song to Sarvodaya Kala Arts groups singer. That singer had problems to sing my song. So, the drama group owner asked me if I could sing the song.

The person who asked me was my best friend so I couldn’t deny. I wrote the song. The day of the

Until then I had never sung any song. I tried my best to sing that song during the play and I proved everyone that I can sing better! He invited me to join his drama group to sing songs. Since then, for 12 years I have been singing Tullu songs for them behind the stage.

Because I struggled those days to sing, now I earned a name as a singer. All night singing songs for the drama, humming for sad drama scenes, and I was earning 100 to 150 rupees per night. Even though I was losing sleep for 2-3 nights, I was feeling happy to see my accomplishments.

for an offering hymn. I felt very ashamed at this incidence.

Several times we were going out of town and coming back to the church to play for Mass Choir without going home as there was no time to relax.

In 1999 I got married. Niddody Kudripadavu’s Sylvester and Theresa Dsouza’s lovely, religious and God-fearing family’s who were agriculturists, I married their daughter Prescilla Dsouza. She was a teacher at school.

One day I felt very sleepy during the homily and went to the sacristy to take a nap. Choir members came there and wake me up to play music

That time I composed more than 500 Kannada, Hindi, Tamil songs and in Tullu language. Songs which I sang for Dramas, some hand music instruments the book I wrote to sing during choir are still with me.

Even after our wedding I was leaving the house at nights to sing songs for

Dramas. My young wife Prescilla encouraged me, supported me, so as my Mom Theresa Tauro. They were always there to give me a hand.

In 200 we had our first child. We decided to name him Nehal. But the priest who baptized at the Niddody Church, told us to change his name to Nihal. We gave due respect to his opinion and kept the name Nihal. Nihal had musical environment at his very young age. The songs which I was singing for dramas, Kannada, Tullu and Hindi, I used to sing loudly by standing very close to him and I was encouraging him to get involved in my singing. Nihal was grown up in music and singing environment. He learned the music and singing and today he is not only

famous in his hometown, city, taluk, state, country, he has become famous all over the world and spread his name. I Indian Idol, he attracted music lovers across the world. Currently Zee Kannada, Colors Channel is reproducing the songs which he sang. Dharawahi songs has become very famous. Kuwait, Bahrain, London, and other places Nihal had his stage shows. In June-July he will be singing the in USA and Canada. He sang in several movies which will be released soon. Recently he was awarded with Aryabhata International Award. After Indian Idol, Nihal gave stage shows in Mangaluru, Manipal, Udupi, Infosys Mangaluru, Karkal Utsava and far away places like Jarkhand, Himachal Pradesh, Pune, and several other places produced successful shows. Spectators love his singing. On the stage Nihal looks very handsome and jovial which attracts young and old music lovers. Several of his fans from Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and those who from foreign lands come to our house to meet him. There are several talented youths in

Konkani Community, they should workd hard without waiting for others. Don’t wait for others to lift your hands, come forward and fo for it. Then only you will reach your destination. Maybe the road is rough with stones, thorns, bushes, you must take care of yourself and walk the way carefully to reach the goal of success. This is the opinion of our great star Nihal. In 2004, we had our second son Nishan. He too had interest in singing. But his goal is to concentrate on education as he prioritized.

Parish, Ward, hometown, and our community always supported us without looking at caste, creed, religion, and language. I would like to thank all our wellwishers, supporters and loved ones. Because of your unconditional support, our talents grew to the top. Thank you all without mentioning any names. Also thank you, Veez editor Bab Austin Prabhu for publishing our cover story. -Herald Tauro, Alangar Moodbidri --------------------------------------

My wife Prescilla is working as teacher for the past 25 years. She taught 25 years at Aliyuru School and currently she is a headmistress at Birau Government Primary School. Behind Nihal’s success, she has her guiding and caring hands. Even though she doesn’t sing, because of her Nihal’s talents grown to the higher level. For all our achievements, Prescy supported us wholeheartedly. 14 Veez Illustrated Weekly

May be Bishop Basil was guided by the Holy Spirit in appointing an Auxiliary Bishop and he was right in his decision. Still in office Bishop Basil passed away on September 5th, 1996. Bishop AP was appointed as the Administrator of the Diocese on 13th September and appointed as Bishop of Mangalore by Vatican on 18th December and he resumed office on 27th December 1996.

Even after Fr. AP’s elevation as Bishop I was visiting him on many occasions and wrote letters often appreciating his works or on some other topics. Though I sent typed letters he would quickly reply in his unique and beautiful hand writing. Moreover, we both are admirers of Bishop Basil.

The grandfather of dear Ivy Mary Mathias was Antony Mathew (A M) Mathias (18481940) was in the service of the Govt., a ‘Taluk Head Accountant.’ Later he owned a coffee estate and held many ‘honorary’ positions and died at the ripe age of 92 yrs in 1940, rare longetivity at that point in time. Eusebius Piedade Mathias

Ivy was the last of 7 children of whom three survived to be adults - they owned a house beside the present Balmatta New Road, then called 'Nirmala Vihar'. Teaching has been Ivy's love, she first taught in Nagpur at ‘Providence’, it was necessity that made people leave Managalore to make a life. With her mind on uplifting the needy, marriage was always on the back burner and she remained a spinster. She recalled the early days some time ago, then she did a long spell of teaching senior classes at popular Loretto School, in Calcutta now Kolkota; Ivy lived on Middleton Road Calcutta. Ivy also did a spell in Karachi before Independence in 1947 which was then part of British India. This is a known family with longevity printed in their genes or DNA it seems. Her life and outlook : " Centenarian Ivy is truly a pleasant, easy person she was made to live long .she became weaker in the last one year......understandably, but Corona has not been anywhere near her", quipped a senior lady Mrs Tilly Peris, who has known her for a

long. Devotion to her beliefs is paramount, she always prayed earnestly and wished for everyone to be happy and successful, she got stressed if she saw injustice and unkindness. Reading, gardening, artwork, embroidery were her forte and she was always very neat and tidy. For health she regularly ate fresh peeled garlic and regularly took local ‘herbal bitters’ called ‘Keeraithe Kaddi’, which grew in her own garden. yourselves for shock! The accepted theory is vegetables are the best for a healthy and long life – but dear Ivy detested vegetables and hardly ate any. Her favorites were all kinds of sea foods, fish, meats, sweets, chocolates and to top it all Ice Cream. Junk food is high on her ‘like list.’ Bananas are her first love among fruits, her food intake was good, and she had just normal food like most people. She is very fond of the old genre country and western pop music...like Jim Reeves, Cliff Richard, Elvis Presly and such apart from old Konkani songs. One can see the LP records, kept safely in the showcase, unfortunately the player had succumbed to age! She keenly watched TV - music, soaps and news with good attention and absorption. Her favourites are also religious channels; she is very fond of watching religious ceremonies especially in Mangalore and Vatican. Corona Pandemic has had little impact as for a while she is in a safe capsule and attended to by her caregivers only. Ivy is never counted as an old foggy or invalid by any measure and at 107 was a pleasant person to meet and chat with, Ivy a very alert centurion

of prime value to society at large and women’s empowerment too. Ivy was 107 years but still

young in spirit and at her age she was good. May he flight to heaven be welcomed by the heavenly Almighty God and may she recieve her reward of eternal life and a crown fitting her contribitions and rich long life of goodness and peace. Are we serious about Lay Collaboration?

*Fr. Cedric Prakash SJ It is ‘Laity Sunday’ once again on 26 June! A time for the Church once again to introspect and to see whether the much flaunted ‘lay collaboration’ exists in reality or not! In a highly clerical and patriarchal Church, which has stubbornly refused to accept in toto the changes envisaged by Vatican II and as desired by the then Popes John XXIII and Paul VI, introducing any reforms is certainly very difficult. But Pope Francis, in his typical style, is apparently succeeding in doing so!

On 19 March 2022 (Feast of St Joseph)the ninth anniversary of the formal inauguration of his pontificate, he published Praedicate Evangelium (Preach the Gospel),his new constitution for the restructuring of the Vatican Curia. It was a reform that was promised at the beginning of his pontificate; several aspects of it have already been implemented over the years. The final document, however, does make some significant changes and provides the vision of a Curia that is evangelical, service-oriented, promotes synodality and highly professional. It does not permit any form of careerism. In sum and substance, it challenges the Curia in particular, and the Church in general, to read, understand and respond to the signs of the times! Above all, it gives a more decisive voice to the laity in Church affairs. The new Constitution a pastoral turning point for the Church came

35 Veez Illustrated Weekly

into effect from 5 June 2022, the Solemnity of Pentecost. On 21 March, this new Constitution was presented to the world at a media conference. Addressing this conference were high-profile Vatican officials including Cardinal Marcello Semeraro, Prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints; Bishop Marco Mellino, Secretary of the Council of Cardinals, and Jesuit Cardinaldesignate Fr. Gianfranco Ghirlanda, a canon lawyer who was the former rector of the Pontifical Gregorian University. At the Conference, Bishop Mellino, noted that the title itself of the document, 'Praedicate Evangelium', underscores the missionary dimension and core duty of evangelization, that is proclaiming the Good News of the Gospel, about all the offices assisting the Pope in his pastoral ministry. He also pointed out how the Roman Curia is, by its nature, at the service of the universal Church and under the direction of the Pope, assisting him to carry out his universal pastoral mission throughout the world. He

also noted how the concept of synodality enters the equation now, as the Roman Curia becomes increasingly instrumental in listening and dialoguing with the particular Churches as it carries out its service. Cardinal Semeraro noted how 'Praedicate Evangelium', many years in the making from discussions going back to the conclave of 2013, brings to completion the reform of the Roman Curia. Many of the reforms, he said, have already been implemented in recent years, even before the new Constitution was finalized, although all the offices of the Roman Curia will need to assure that their current statutes are fully in line with the final indications set in the Apostolic Constitution. He also added that ‘dicastery’ a lay term was certainly more acceptable than the former ‘congregation’ which was a clerical term! Fr Ghirlanda highlighted the role of the laity in the new Constitution and called it very ‘innovative’. A layman or laywoman can now preside over a department according to the criteria indicated. He said that the power to carry out an office “is the

36 Veez Illustrated Weekly

same whether it comes from a bishop, a presbyter, a consecrated man or woman, or a layman or laywoman…. The power of government in the Church does not come from the sacrament of [Holy] Orders, but from the canonical mission.” The new constitution, for Fr. Ghirlanda, sought to enhance the functioning of local Bishops’ conferences and their various units. Bishops’ Conferences are mentioned more than 50 times in the new document, compared to just twice in the previous Vatican constitution, the 1988 Pastor Bonus( which has now been superseded) “What is established by an episcopal conference cannot contradict the universal Magisterium, otherwise we are outside the ecclesial communion” he said. Asked whether five-year terms for heads of dicasteries could create problems with continuity, Ghirlanda said that leaders who proved competent would be given a further five years in their posts. “People who stay too long in government positions can develop centres of power. And in the Church that is never

appropriate. Turnover brings new ideas, new skills, openness.” Praedicate Evangelium(PE) focuses on evangelization. There is no doubt about that, since the very title emphasizes that the reform is geared toward evangelization. The Pope becomes the prefect of the new Dicastery for Evangelization, now the first dicastery of the Curia. He has given himself the job of chief missionary of a missionary Church. The reform, however, goes beyond the theme of evangelization. That ‘bureaucracy’, good administration is needed, is not denied. It is much more than a mere restructuring of the bodies of the Roman Curia. It represents a change of philosophy and more so, a way of proceeding for the Universal Church. Pope Francis is determined to put evangelization at the heart of the Roman Curia. The opening sentence of the Constitution sets the tone. Praedicate Evangelium returns to the initial vision Pope Francis had for a ‘missionary conversion’ for the entire Church. The opening citation of PE is from St. John Paul II’s Redemptoris Missio (Mission of the

37 Veez Illustrated Weekly

Redeemer), namely that the “proclamation of the gospel is the primary service which the Church offers.” A rough translation from the original Italian says, “The missionary conversion of the Church is destined to renew the Church according to the image of Christ's own mission of love. His disciples are therefore called to be ‘light of the world’(Mt.5:14). This is the way in which the Church reflects the saving love of Christ which is the Light of the world (cf. Jn 8:12). It becomes more radiant when it brings to men the supernatural gift of faith, light that guides our journey through time and serving the Gospel because of this light. May it grow to illuminate the present until it becomes a star that shows the horizons of our journey, in a time when man is particularly in need of light" The Document entitled ‘Apostolic Constitution on the Roman Curia and its Service to The Church in the World’ is heavy in content. That is to be expected. With 250 Articles, the seventy-plus pages do not make easy reading. One very clear dimension which emerges from the Document is that Pope Francis is a

Pastor, Pilgrim and Prophet and he is determined, in this the tenth year of his pontificate, that beginning with the Vatican Curia, the Church becomes exactly that: pastor, pilgrim and prophet to the women and men of our times! To give the laity a voice in the Church! There are however several questions which need to be answered before Pope Francis’ prophetic vision becomes a reality in a Church which needs to ‘let go!’. One needs to look at the Church in India first: clericalism and patriarchy are both strongly rooted. Subsidiarity hardly exists with tremendous power concentrated with Bishops /parish priests /Clergy and Religious who are Principals/Directors of Institutions. Ideally the reforms demand an enhanced role for laity (particularly women), a more collegial working and above all, the synodal process of communion, participation and mission to be actualised at every level. This is certainly going to be a tall order. Parish councils often consists of ‘yes-men/women’ and are sometimes condemned to doing cosmetic, servile work and posing for photo-ops. There is very little

38 Veez Illustrated Weekly

dialogue, discernment and of decision-making processes which are participative. There are exceptions of course, but these are rarities. The laity continues to conveniently fit and often succumb to a mould of ‘pray, pay and obey.’ The Synodal Process which was recently completed in most dioceses, was relegated to a series of meetings and spiritual events, meant to produce reports for the records. Not much effort seems to be made in truly empowering the laity and to provide them with the prophetic courage they need to respond to critical issues facing the church and the country. A senior Catholic teacher with an outstanding and long years of teaching experience in a prestigious Catholic school was recently appointed by the Management as the Principal of the same school. It was a significant move in terms of lay collaboration. However, right from the beginning, roles and responsibilities of the principal and also that of the three clerics involved in the school, were not clearly defined. Two of the clerics felt threatened and were not comfortable in allowing the Lady

Principal to take independent decisions – even if these decisions were after due consultation with other lay staff of the school. Lay collaboration necessitates respecting the integrity, competency and professionalism of the lay person concerned. Once a lay person is given authority, clerics should not treat that person as a puppet, doormat or clearing house. This, in no way negates the importance and need of consultation, transparency and accountability at all levels. On 26 May 2022, Fr. Arturo Sosa, the Superior General in a letter to the Whole Society entitled ‘Global Ignatian Advocacy Network (GIAN): A Pathway to deepen Collaboration’ writes, “For some time now, the Society of Jesus has felt the need to adapt its governance structures to the new realities of the world. In today’s globalised context, we are confronted with the need to act as a universal body with a global mission, capable of integrating the diversity and uniqueness of the contexts, cultures, times, and peoples in which we live and work. Collaboration and networking offer richness, solidarity, and a

39 Veez Illustrated Weekly

challenging opportunity for our engagement in today’s complex and changing socio-economic, political and religious situations. The urgency of discerning together the appropriate apostolic structures to achieve the ambitious apostolic goals we have set for ourselves is therefore clear”. In his letter Fr. Sosa highlights the importance of ‘Advocacy’ and why collaborating with others will help make our advocacy work more meaningful and effective! Structures, with the merging of some Dicasteries and the formation of new ones at every level, must change. The question being raised at this stage is, will they become more empowered, effective, and prompt enough to respond appropriately to the many challenges both within the Church and the world at large? Given the reality of the Church in India today, there are hardly any systems and procedures in place. The reforms initiated by Pope Francis are certainly radical in nature; but like his ‘Evangelii Gaudium’, Laudato Si’ and ‘Fratelli Tutti’ they could remain only on paper if there is no political will to ensure the mainstreaming

and implementation of these reforms to the smallest and most remote parish/institution, to the lost, least and last individual! In another important move, Pope Francis has convened an extraordinary consistory on 29 and 30 August 2022, immediately after the consistory for the creation of new cardinals on 27 August. Under the Code of Canon Law, reformed in 1983, there are two types of consistories of cardinals: ordinary and extraordinary. An extraordinary consistory is convened cases (like the one in August) and all the world’s cardinals are called to take part in it. The August extraordinary consistory will be dedicated to discussion of the constitution Praedicate Evangelium. Pope Francis has only called one other extraordinary consistory since his election in 2013. So, in the context of restructuring the Church to respond to the signs of the times, Pope Francis certainly means business! It is also significant that Pope Francis launched his reforms on the Feast of St Joseph and the anniversary of his Pontificate. St

40 Veez Illustrated Weekly

Joseph has always been someone extra-special in his life. He often refers to Joseph as a ‘dreamer’ capable of accepting the task entrusted to him by God. In one of his earlier homilies he said, “Christians, especially young people, should follow the example of St Joseph who was not afraid to listen to his dreams, like when he was told in a dream not to be afraid to take Mary as his wife and again when he was told to flee with Mary and Jesus to Egypt. When we dream great things, beautiful things, we draw close to God’s dream, the things that God dreams for us. May he give young people – because he, too, was young – the ability to dream, to risk and to take on difficult tasks that they have seen in their dreams.”

church affairs. After years of hard work, Pope Francis has ensured that systems and processes are now in place. The journey has begun but it is certainly not going to be an easy one!

Reforming the Church of today is one of the dreams of a prophetic Pope. High up on his agenda is to give the laity- and particularly women – greater visibility and a decisive voice in administering

23 June 2022

But are we in India, as hierarchy and clergy, listening? Are we serious about lay collaboration? Do we have the courage to walk the talk; to make that vision of Vatican II – ‘a Church of the people of God’become a reality today? Or will we continue to live in our comfort zones, through hypocritical acts of tokenism and cosmeticization? The answer is NOT blowing in the wind – but living in us! May God enlighten us all! Laity Sunday 2022!

International Yoga Day 2022 in Mangaluru Yoga has become very popular and much sought after in India and the world over in the last few years! Yoga can be interpreted as 'yoke' or 'union' of physical, mental, and spiritual practices or disciplines which originated in ancient India and aim to control (yoke) and still the mind, recognizing a detached consciousness untouched by the mind and assorted sufferings. There is a wide variety of schools of yoga, practices, and goals in Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism, traditional and modern yoga is practiced worldwide. Yoga is referred to in a number of the Upanishads, which was probably composed between the fifth and third centuries BCE. The most comprehensive text on Yoga, the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, date to the early centuries of the Common Era; Yoga philosophy became known as one of the six orthodox

philosophical schools of Hinduism in the second half of the first millennium CE. The term "yoga" in the Western world often denotes a modern form of Hatha yoga and a posture-based physical fitness, stress-relief and relaxation technique, consisting largely of the asanas; this differs from traditional yoga, which focuses on meditation and release from worldly attachments. It was introduced by gurus from India after the success of Swami Vivekananda's adaptation of yoga without asanas in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.[ Vivekananda introduced the Yoga Sutras to the West, and they became prominent after the 20thcentury success of hatha yoga. In the last decade the influence of India's PM Narendra Modi has given a head start to yoga all over the world and it has been accepted by all leading powers around the globe.

Filipe grew up in the village of his birth; at the age of 10, joined the junior seminary in the neighboring village of Saligao, and in due course, was ordained a priest in 1979. The Goan clergy come from the Catholic natives and its diaspora, the first of which was to Mangalore, which was part of the Vijayanagar kingdom along with Goa prior to the arrival of the Iberians. Nearly every family had one or more priests and nuns belonging to all caste strata. The number of Bishops that the Catholic Indo-Iberian community of GEM nurtured over the eons are too numerous to present. For a sample, according to native writer Felix da Cruz, “Aldona village has produced 13 bishops.” Goans were bishops both in SouthAsia and in the former Iberian colonies of Africa; truly fulfilling

Goa’s vital duty and claim of “Rome of the Orient;” especially during the Pombal regime when European priests were restricted in the oriental colonies. Looking at the number of priests, bishops and cardinals nurtured by Goa, it reminds us of the extensive role Florence, Italy played in the Catholic Church during the Renaissance nurturing many priests, bishops, cardinals and popes. There’s a connection between Florence, Italy and Goa. In the Basilica of Bon Jesu in Old Goa, the old colonial capital, the mausoleum that houses the remains of the Saint Francis Xavier and the silver casket was gifted by the last Florentine Medici – Cosimo de’ Medici III (1642-1723), who was Grand Duke of Tuscany (1670-1723). The saint’s mausoleum was designed by Giovanni Foggini - Florentine sculptor; and the ornate decorations are the handiwork of Goan and Indian artisans. Mission for 3L (least, last & lost students) With your generous support and prayers, till date the Mission for 3L (least, last, & lost) students of marginalized of our society continues. During the last academic year, all the 27 students passed with minimum 70%. For the current academic year 2021-22, so far, I

have selected 25 (13 girls and 12 boys) most needy students irrespective of creed, region, and culture who are studying from KG to postgraduate level. At the postgraduate level two girls, one girl at the undergraduate level, one boy doing diploma in automobile, one girl studying in XI standard and the

rest studying in high schools, primary schools, and pre-primary schools. These students live and study in Goa and in North Karnataka. Due to COVID-19 situation a few students with their families left Goa and now are settled in Karnataka. Since their parents are either illiterate or semi-literate and do not know English, these students need private coaching to cope up with their studies. This is the most expensive factor. Similarly, private transport from home to school and vice versa for students who are studying up to X standard is also quite expensive. Auto drivers demand Rs. 1750/- per month per student. I personally keep regular touch with these students and their parents and monitor their academic progress, behaviour, self-respect, and help them to build up positive value system. Since the parents are landless poor persons and/or sickly persons, besides the academic expenses (school/college fee, uniform, textbooks, stationery, Xerox, school bag, tiffin box, water bottle, footwear, rainwear, travel expense, and private tuition fee) the other expenses (provisions, Medicare, new clothes once a year

during Christmas, snacks, Christmas hampers with sweets, three festive meals for Easter, Feast of St. Ignatius, and Christmas) of these students are met according to the availability of funds. On an average, per year per student rupees 25,000/- to 27,000/- are spent. Besides this, out of the 12 families of 3 L, seven most needy families are provided with provisions on a regular basis. I would be grateful, if you could continue or become a partner in this noble mission through your generous contribution and continuous prayers. If you are willing, I will give you the bank details of the recipients and you could directly transfer your contribution to their account. Life is uncertain for any person. In this context, to continue this Mission of 3L, after my death, I have selected and appointed two valuebased ladies. Both of them are illiterate and cannot do hard work due to their sickness, but they are honest to the core and generous towards other poor families. A Catholic couple who on a monthly

basis help the Mission of 3 L, has agreed to continue to help these two ladies. The mission belongs to God. I am only a caretaker and coordinator. Hence, do not worry much of its continuity. In this context, I must share with you, a touching incident of a Catholic family which was one of the 3 L families. Due to COVID-19 that family had no regular job and four children were studying. Later on, their situation improved and the head of the family asked me to drop them as recipients and help other needy families. Such is the honesty and generosity of these 3L families whom I reach out.

Thanking you in anticipation for your generous support and valuable prayers. Yours sincerely, Fr. Pratapananda Naik, SJ 20 June 2022 Co-ordinator of 3 L Mission Loyola Hall Near Law College Miramar, Panaji Goa – 403 001, INDIA Mobile No.: 9850658565 E-mail: pratapnaiksj@gmail.com
