By Mary Henderson | Photos by Mauro Palmieri I remember when my second son was born and three hours later, I had the greatest epiphany of my life. Sure, the actual birth was a huge experience but I had more than that. I had a 5D experience and had a huge self realisation, ON THAT DAY, that my entire life was a series of labels. It was so profound that it led to the resignation as Managing Director of my OWN company followed by a 12 month sabbatical. I remember thinking on the first day of my sabbatical, what am I going to do for the rest of my life? I quickly walked to my PC and googled "How do I change my life". This led to me engaging two Masters who become my mentors and literally changed the trajectory of my life. By that I mean, they assisted me in the process of finding the TRUE ME.
I fully realised my genius and what I could do with ease and grace. I knew I could solve a complex problem and had the pleasure of figuring out the HOW.
I had the honour of interviewing Natalie Goldberg who is an Attorney, Entrepreneur, Author and driven by a burning mission.
Thankfully, the last company I owned provided a lot of insight and experience that helped me design an entire system around my business today.
I believe that women MUST advocate for other women. Natalie is one of those women who champions every person who crosses her path. Her story is captivating and she doesn't hold back.
Mom's who make money are not selfish. These are women who are genuinely driven to serve on a global scale and make a difference. I know it's simplified, but that is the truth of it. I have had the pleasure of speaking to so many women (that I serve) entrepreneurs and they all have this driver. I believe that women open difficult conversations, tap into the heart and genuinely want to make a difference. That is why, in this months Authoritti5.0 Magazine,

My guest today is Natalie Goldberg, an award-winning attorney, bestselling author, a nationwide speaker about women and money, and a fearless cheerleader for her clients’ success. Her clients include celebrities, influencers, athletes, business owners, and real estate owners. And she teaches them how to retain more of their wealth and pay fewer taxes ethically and legally (of course) while also protecting their assets from disgruntled would-be litigants. She's not only a survivor of a nearly fatal accident, but she's a frequent guest on CNN, Fox News, CBS, Good Morning, America, CNBC, BBC, and elsewhere. And she's also featured in CNN, New York Post, Star magazine, and Cosmopolitan. She also has her own podcast called The Gold

Standard. And the best part about her is she's a huge advocate for moms making and keeping their money. Welcome to Authoritti5.0, Natalie. Mary: So Natalie, I want to connect the dots back to front in this interview. And I want to start at that word legacy, something you talk about and something you also ask your clients about before you engage them. You deal with people who are in vulnerable situations, whether it's money or property or contracts, whatever it may be. Why is knowing what your clients’ legacy is so important to you? Natalie: It defines everything, Mary. You know, what are we really like? We are all ticking time bombs. We don't know when we're going to go
off. We can look at statistics, but that means nothing. It is this mom, this friend, this wife, this partner, right? So it colors everything you want to do. Here's the deal. If you know what you want to be remembered for – your legacy, as I call it – then you know what you need to do. I got a call two days ago from a guy who said, “I don't want to work anymore.” I said, “Okay. How much money do you have? Can you afford that?” So we went through it. He has about $8 million, he’s 50 years old, no kids and he'll never get married. He just wants to sit into the sunset. He has $8 million, and if it makes 10% every year, he will probably live a very nice life and not worry about where that money’s going to go after he dies. As we both know, Mary, we are not

going to just sail off into the sunset. We want our legacy to be preservation and complete advancement of women; it’s our mission in this world. And here's the thing: Your legacy and what you want it to be will color every decision you make. Because if you need to be able to write a $100M check like Melinda Gates does, you're going to make that happen. If that is your mission – what you were born to do in this world – or if you want, you can allow the government to pay for your limited lifestyle, but that's going to color the decisions you make because nothing comes for free. And if you want to be a billionaire, that's a lot of work. And going after it every single day takes a lot of energy that most people don't have. Mary: Absolutely, I love what you just said because I remember when I was 28. I had just gotten divorced and that was my first marriage. And I remember sitting at the traffic lights in my car, and I had the biggest epiphany: I screamed these words out loud in the car “I will never ever allow myself to be codependent on a man ever again.” And I realized that day that it was vital to create my own happiness and money and a legacy, as you say, regardless of who I am with or where I am in my life. And the older I get, the more important knowing that is for me. I love the fact that I am financially independent from my now husband. It's a powerful position to obviously be in. You are a massive advocate for women empowerment when it comes to financial freedom. Can you share why you believe this is important?

And what advice do you give women when you actually meet them or when you're interviewed on the big media outlets, what advice are you giving these women?
If you decide that you're going to be financially free and secure, you need to work at it every day.
Natalie: It is action day to day. If you decide you're going to lose 30 pounds, you're going to work at it every day. You're going to eat healthy food every day. If you decide that you're going to be financially free and secure, you need to work at it every day. It's first of all getting your head out of the sand and owning it. It’s updating your accounts. And when your husband says, “Don't worry, honey, you'll be taken care of,” you’re hearing the scariest words in the English language. How many women have come to me crying that he said, “I would be taken care of,” but where's the money, honey? They don't know. You need to know what accounts you have, where you are the properly listed beneficiary, and whether the trust has been updated to include you. Do you have an updated estate plan? Are you named on the life insurance policy? What about the partnership paperwork with his business? And that's just on his side. Now on your side, as a woman who was making money, we are actually amazing at making money. Married women are innovative, intuitive. We listen to the world, we can make it, but we’re not as great at holding onto it because we haven't been taught the tools. When I was 25 and I first started making real money, I became a lawyer and started my own firm. AUTHORITTI5.0 MAGAZINE |

As a woman who was making money, we are actually amazing at making money. Married women are innovative, intuitive. I was like, thank God I’m really doing amazingly well. I come from an immigrant family that didn't have much. Of course, we had a roof over our heads and we were middle-class. Meanwhile, I was single and had no dependents at that time. So, I was buying Chanel bags and trips to Hawaii, because honestly, when you make money like that, and you were accustomed to working as an employee for someone for four or five grand a month, and now you're making more than that from a single client, you're like, holy moly. Mary: I see a lot of young women today chasing vanity metrics on social media, not chasing property portfolios. They're chasing rich partners, etc. I seldom hear women in their thirties talking about their financial freedom or more important, investing. They all want to be entrepreneurs and self-
identify as entrepreneurs, and yet they're living on the poverty line. When I was 30, I was obsessed with building wealth and my property portfolio as well. You are a huge advocate for educating millennials on money, which I think is so empowering and so needed, not just in the United States, but across the globe. And it should start in the school system, quite frankly. So, why is social currency more important to so many millennials than real currency? And what issues do you see in this generation that perhaps didn't exist in my generation, which is generation X? What's going on there? Natalie: The social media metrics are very easy to understand: Am I popular or not? And who didn't want to sit at the popular kids’ table in high school and middle school?
Everyone wants to be at the popular table. It plays into that need to be seen as important in the world. What's wrong with that, though, is not the metrics. I think that's great, but it's not realizing the power you have in those metrics. You know, if you're a 20year-old hacker girl and you have 500,000 followers, you better be making a real business out of that. Mary: But they’re not. That's the thing, Natalie. And you know, and it's not just on Instagram, I see them on LinkedIn as well. I get a lot of those self-proclaimed influencers, 30- to 35-year-olds who come to me and what they’re really looking for is fame. You can't make money from 1000 likes unless you're strategic and deliberate and you are genuinely an entrepreneur. But they're calling themselves entrepreneurs after they watch Gary V do some show, pay their $300 for a ticket and then AUTHORITTI5.0 MAGAZINE |

suddenly they're inspired to become and entrepreneur. The problem is that the very thing they want to start always remains a hobby. It never turns into a real business. So what do you think from a mindset perspective?
just have a presence there. A lot of millennials have this idea that they do want to be successful, they do want to become a brand name, and they want to be known as the go-to person for something, but they don’t know how to do it.
Natalie: To be a true entrepreneur, you have to figure out a way to make money, right? Mary, let's be very real about who actually makes money on these platforms. It's the digital media agencies that figured out that they have something there. I think about the people who are talking about how much money they're making on LinkedIn, people who are teaching you how to use LinkedIn, which is so fascinating because many of us have a huge presence there, but it's how are you using it.
And what I find even more concerning is that the older end of millennials, who are in their early forties, many with families, are still on the platform trying to get famous. I just find that incredibly sad.
You have to know who your end user is on the platform, because if I’m on Instagram, I'm posting pet, family pictures, people. So I'm going direct to consumer, probably lower value, right? It's probably a brand new mom and dad who just need a basic plan. But on LinkedIn, I'm there to be the expert, so that financial advisors see me and then think of me for their clients. It’s important that people understand what they're going for. Mary: Absolutely. The other problem with that is even if you are a selfproclaimed influencer on say, Instagram, it doesn't mean you actually understand how the system works because there are two sides to the coin. If you don't understand how to commercialize your value on LinkedIn, then you
Back to women. You give a woman knowledge, and she can conquer the world. It's that women are just naturally more creative, more abundant thinkers, and collaborative, which are all vital ingredients in creating success. But is there a difference between this generation and the previous one? Especially when you're doing your keynotes, I'm sure that people come up to you and talk to you all the time. What are their pain points? What are they actually going through that doesn't allow them to reach their legacy? What's stopping them from actually making money? Natalie: They don't want to do the work. It's really that simple. It took a long road for me to get there. And it takes a lot of stuff behind the scenes. I don't love sitting at my desk drafting documents. But it's the bigger picture, the legacy, that I see. These people build the business. I am building the legacy that I'm leaving for my children. So that's the bigger picture. But a lot of people don't realize if they have a college degree from ABC AUTHORITTI5.0 MAGAZINE |

university and a big LinkedIn or Instagram presence, what’s missing is the work ethic because they don't have a role model. They don't have someone telling them, “Here's how we're going to make money on this.” This is what I love to do because I see that all the time, and I know how to make it successful. But a lot of people haven't ever built a real business, so they don't know what it takes. When I first built my business, I was 24 years old. How much law could I possibly have known? Right. Graduate college in two years. Yes. I did law school for free in two and a half years. But what practical knowledge did I have from that? Almost nothing. So I was out there, 24 years old, waking up at 5:00 AM to go to a networking meeting at 7:00 AM in Manhattan, followed by another one at 9, and another one at 10. And not through until 10 or 11 o'clock at night; that's a lot of fricking work, that's a lot of foundation building, and it's more than just three seconds. Smile. Cause I'm so cute and I posted on Instagram with my Jimmy Choos and the Chanel bag. Come on. Mary: I want to talk about your book, The Millennial's Guide to the Universe, How to Live the New International Dream, which is available on Amazon. Through the book, you share your life story of surviving a drag racing car accident, where you were hit as a pedestrian and then you went on to become an attorney at 23, debt-free, and establish and own a seven-figure law firm by the time you were 26.
AUTHORITTI5.0 MAGAZINE
The book introduces the notion of the new international dream, unbound by location as a result of the internet, obviously, and then your teaching, which is a 10-step roadmap to success. I love that. And I want to go there in a moment, but let's start with you literally coming face to face with your own mortality in that car accident that day. I would imagine that your life changed forever. Can you share what that experience taught you? We don't have to go into detail of the accident, but what was that aha moment that led you to this path that you're on Natalie: Mary? You know, every day to me is my personal Pearl Harbor day. I was walking across the street and got hit by a car going 60 miles an hour. There were two cars drag racing from light to light to show whose ego was bigger. The probability of surviving for me was close to zero. I had five surgeries, and my entire left side still has metal in it to this day. Within 10 to 12 days, I was out of the intensive care unit and back home. I was in 10th grade and went to school in a wheelchair every day because I went to one of the top schools in the country, in New York, called Townsend Harris. I was very competitive. I was not going to miss a year. So I think that to your point before, Mary, about vanity metrics, I was literally in a wheelchair as a 15-year-old having to face my peers, and you don't have self-confidence at 15. But you know what was funny? I'll never forget my Latin teacher, Mr. Haggerty, who would get such a kick out of me because they would come pick me up with the

wheelchair through the hall. And I was like the one holding up traffic because everyone was hugging and kissing me every single day through the halls. Everyone was late to class! Within a month and a half I was dancing and choreographing on stage, although they told me it would take a year to walk. How great is life that no one gets to tell you how long it's going to take? That really was a theme in my life. They told me a year, but I did it in a month and a half. They told me college is four years. I thought, how about two for law school? They said you could only do it in six full-time semesters. So I figured out that there's one loophole where you could do two summers that equal a fulltime semester to make it less time. It's that legacy question you asked me first – what's your legacy? – change the world and make it better for women. You got to get to work. Mary: You know, that's been my philosophy too. Every single day, I have a task list, and I cross things off every day. It's all about movement and speed. It's about having that desire to be remarkable. That's my new word. Remarkable. It's showing up as remarkable. It's writing remarkable content. It's showing up with your clients and being remarkable. And I think that is a very important word because when you unpack it – it all comes down to choice. You have to choose to be that; you can't just be that. You have to go through life experiences to come to the other AUTHORITTI5.0 MAGAZINE |

end and say, “You know what? I choose to be remarkable.” And that requires a responsibility to your work. So let's go back to the book. You have a 10-step roadmap to success. And I know for sure that the readers of Authoritti5.0 magazine and the listeners of this podcast would love to hear you unpack this. So let's start with step one. If you can just take us through some of those steps. Natalie: Mary, you're really making me reach here. That book was 2017. I've written five since then. So I'm going to reach into the depths of my memory. Number one: We are all spiritual beings having a human existence. Figure out your why real fast. And you know how you get your why? You ask, “What makes me want to get up and do something?” Ask yourself this question. “If I get a billion dollars tomorrow, all my money concerns will be taken care of for the rest of my life. So what would I do in this world? And what problem would I solve?” You ask those questions. You find your purpose. It's really that easy. You don't have to go through all this mushy crazy contraption. Ask those two questions and figure it out. Look, there's a reason I'm not a marine biologist. God bless the fish. I really couldn't care less. My husband has a whole fish tank of fish that he feeds every day. I say to him “You spend more time with those fish than you do with our kids.” The fish don't call to me. But when I see women and children and want them to advance and want them to do amazing things in the world, that gets me going. That gets me up in the morning to lead a group and do what I do so that we can do a better as a world. So my purpose is very clear: Be a resounding voice through the world, so that women and children have a better tomorrow and that they know that they're going to be protected. And that there's a roadmap for success. Number two: Figure out the money, honey. I mean, we all are women who want to be empowered. But unless you understand the money, you cannot be empowered on the poverty line. You want to be empowered, and that’s about doing what you want, paying for what you want, and AUTHORITTI5.0 MAGAZINE |
12
JULY 2021
that’s about doing what you want, paying for what you want, and being your own boss. And it doesn't mean that you have to be your own selfemployed person, but your own sovereign over yourself. Number three: Have self-respect. What will you actually put up with? And what are the boundaries that you're drawing? Are you someone who will do everything? You know, when this pandemic started, I was taking every meeting. I was doing every networking group. I was exhausted, and I was getting no money out of it. Everyone started networking like crazy, but no one remembered who anyone was. What was the point of that? And I had a newborn and my one-and-a-half-year-old. Number four: Figure out what's important. Get back on the track, pick yourself up, and get out of this depressed state. Life is happening to you or life is happening for you. You get to choose. You get to be part of the walking dead, which is the 99% who are born, do nothing, and then die, or you get to be part of that 1% not just talking about wealth, but having it. But if you're working in what lights you up every single day, you will be part of that 1% who are happy or living a life, not part of the walking dead. But you have to understand the basic foundations of money. The rich get richer because they understand trusts and wills, and they get great advice. Okay? No one who’s super rich is dying with just a will. They have multiple trusts. And by the way, the trust are making it so they never pay taxes. As a result, that $10 million becomes $100 million real fast.
AUTHORITTI5.0 MAGAZINE
Number five: Life skills. You need to understand a few things. Networking, negotiation, public speaking, and sales. If you can't sell, you are dead in the water. If you are a great operations person, you better find someone who can sell to be your partner. Because I don't care how smart you are: Any business is about sales. And the number one thing you sell is yourself. If you can't do that, it's okay. But don't think you're going to run a huge business if you're scared to ask for the money. Number six: There's nothing for free in this life. You're either investing time or you're investing money. You know, I'm a visionary leader. I would love to have an operational partner. People think that they show up, and just because they have a degree from whatever University they're entitled to a six-figure salary. Well, guess what? You may have this degree, but you haven't learned real skills and you have no network. So what can you do for me? You know I'm very nontraditional when it comes to hiring people. I don’t go through 12 rounds of interviews; who has time for such nonsense? If I like the person, I hire them on the spot for a task. And if they do a good job, I give them another task. Why should I commit my resources to hire an associate who doesn't know anything and who's going to learn everything from me and think they can do it? I need someone who's loyal. I have many different lawyers working for me. You need to hold people accountable and say, “Where's the work that you promised was going to be done by this day?”
COVER
It's that legacy question you asked me first – what's your legacy? – change the world and make it better for women. You got to get to work.

So the person who wants to live a good life with their family, their vessel has a full cup. There's no shame in that, but you need to own it. You need to understand what your motivational factors are. For me, it's never been just about family or community. It's about the level of world. Many people are not at that level. The first level is family. The next level is community. The next level is city. The next level is state. The next level is country. The next level is world. Many people are not at the world level, right? Those are the people we know about like Elon Musk. So all these people are at a different level. They're thinking much bigger than most people. As Oprah says, you can only fill from a full cup. Mary: Absolutely. I think on the other side of the coin that a lot of people have to unlearn what they've learned to be able to see not just the opportunity, but to be able to see that they also have a choice to pursue that dream, that passion, whatever it is. Society has programmed us to believe that being on a hamster wheel is healthy and normal from the moment we are born and then through school. Ultimately, we are taught how to conform to a 40hour workweek. And so this conditioning has to, at some point, be unlearned, and we have to be willing to get off the hamster wheel, even if it's for a week in complete silence that changes our life forever. We have to understand the roadmap that we're talking about, digest it, embrace it, implement it, get our circle of

influence in place, and invest in those people to actually get us closer to our destination. If we're not after freedom and we want to work for someone and get our salary on the 15th of every month or rely on the government, then we can't complain.
We are all spiritual beings having a human existence. Figure out your why real fast.
Natalie: Mary, you're so right. When I was at law school, I took classes that played to my strengths: negotiation, mediation, and client advocacy, and I got the highest grades. I know I'm an amazing advocate. And I also had confidence. I know I would kick these people's asses any day in court. Mary: I just want to go back to what you said about your strengths. You played to your strengths, you got straight A's, you tapped into your genius zone, and you worked with what you've got. Now, that's a very important aspect. When I work with my clients, I’m tapping into those gifts, talents, and attributes that they have that make up the best version of them. Natalie, how many people in the world are actually in jobs they hate that absolutely do not match their strengths? In fact, they're playing on the weaknesses more than anything. And this is why I go back to this notion of unlearning, because when you unlearn, you can see what your strengths are. What am I doing here when I should be over here? So going back to why I'm interviewing you: Women need to understand the power of their natural state of being themselves, and you've just spoken on this AUTHORITTI5.0 MAGAZINE |

specific point proving that when you focus on your strengths, magic really happens. You have freedom when you step into your True Self. Natalie: Mary, it's so funny that you're saying this and you could not be more correct. You're on the money 1000%. Mary: There are many women that get freaked out if they actually talk about their genius zone or God forbid, if they show up on social media like you do. And I do every single day. All these women are hiding in their homes behind closed walls and not putting themselves out there for the fear of “What if my friends, my mom, my sister, my husband's friends see me?” But if you're not seen and heard, how do you make money? If you're not playing to your strengths, you'll be sitting at home miserable and frustrated, which turns into anger and you're going nowhere. It's a dead end. So you just made a very important point on saying that you need that leadership role. You need to be in that role. Not because you think you're better than anyone but because that's your strength. God made you with that gift. It has to be used every day.

We've come to the end of our show, but I need to ask you one more question, which I ask everybody. And that is, if you could meet one person who is no longer living, who would it be and what would you want to ask? Or what would you want to know? Natalie: So I would say Golda Meir, who was the Prime Minister of Israel between 1969-74. This woman literally led a new country as a woman. We still do not have a female President in the United States. And what was her experience like doing that? In fact, my second daughter’s Hebrew name is Golda. And Mary, just to your last point, which was so important about what my friends are going to think. You think Golda gave a F&%k about what people thought of her? Golda was trying to make sure that her country wasn't going to be taken over at any moment, which is like when you get beyond yourself. You don’t care what people are going to think. The point being is if you want to light up, you need to do something in the world and literally do it. The very thing that is meant for you.

Im going to start and finish this conversation with the same question: Is it Nature or Nurture? My mother isn’t mainstream, never was. She’s the result of a war, a family who shipped her off to another country at 15, had no real education (barely 3 grades) and was effectively kept as an indentured slave for the first few years of her arrival from Greece in Australia as an immigrant. It’s a story both her and I can’t talk about easily, not even to each other. She doesn’t want to expose me to her rawness and honestly, I don’t want to deal with it that much either. I know I’ve never been hungry or desperate or alone. She has. Her arrival in Australia in the 60’s was a consequence of her own mother explaining to her that she could not feed all the children in her family, so as the eldest she needed to leave. I’m sure it wasn’t an easy decision for my grandmother to make – sending her eldest daughter away to a foreign country with no resources or family. But my grandmother wasn’t only going to lose a daughter, she was also losing a worker. It was a typical small village in Greece where they grew their own food, harvested and sold what they could to earn a living – if you could call it that. So, my grandmother was left with very young children who couldn’t contribute, but the hope was for my mother to earn a living in another country and send back money. Millions did this around the world after WW2. Im going to fast forward to the “good news” because I’m very sure mum would NOT want pity for her life, but I do think she feels underestimated and probably unappreciated. That’s a mum’s job, right? LOL Before she even had me, she was a successful business owner. A young, vibrant woman who also bought 2 investment properties and was one of the FIRST woman in Australia to get a loan from the bank WITHOUT needing a man to co-sign it.
BUSINESS
Let’s think about that for a minute. It wasn’t really that long ago. She had a business – cashflow, but she didn’t have a husband. So apparently, she would have been considered successful but just not responsible to manage a loan without a man. I’m not man bashing here, I’m just painting the picture of the woman and what she was up against. No real language skills, no family, no support network. And no respect or rights to manage her own financial path. It’s important to note though, that it was a man – the bank manager, who approved the loans for mum WITHOUT requiring a man to co-sign. Why? Well, the bank was next door to my mum’s shop, and he was a customer. He witnessed firsthand what she accomplished everyday and that was good enough for him.
Hard work + commitment + never give up = MY MUM My mother came to this country – Australia, because she had to. It wasn’t a choice. She left behind the only people she knew and a home that had almost nothing. She was 14 nearly 15. She couldn’t really even read or write in her own language let alone another. She came from a village without indoor plumbing or electricity and arrived in a country that had an abundance of everything. And she ran with it.
My mum is my superhero. She is brave and smart and defines achievement in my eyes. And resilience. AUTHORITTI5.0 MAGAZINE |

BUSINESS
So, her business instincts seemed to have awakened the day she arrived in Australia. She downplays the early days of loneliness and fear, the fridges that were padlocked to stop her eating more than her “share” and the deafening noise of not understanding the language and customs. She jokes that she was so sick on the ship voyage (we share seasickness) coming here, that it motivated her to succeed in Australia and use that excuse to never go back…. I think it’s because she never felt wanted. Mum knows business. She knows the ups & downs, the pitfalls and the inevitable exhaustion. She had already been ringing the bell of success before I was a twinkle in her eye, and before she met my father. I mentioned the Nature Vs Nurture at the beginning, and I’ve briefly described my mother. And I have to say that I’m on the fence (maybe). To define her life recipe as nature or nurture baffles me a bit because inevitably I compare myself to her. We are much more alike than she admits, and I deny. We look very similar, have the same short temper and don’t require hugs unless they come from little humans. And we both know how to work 50 hours a day. I wonder where I get it from…. I don’t think mum ever thought she had anything she could teach me or that I could learn from her, I’m sure she felt that she just did the best she could (seriously, I scream on this part) – which she did, in spite of the challenges. But I did learn. I learnt more than she will know, but I will now make a point of telling her every day and then some. It was in her nature to overcome…or did she overcome her nature? My family has been successful, Im grateful for it every day. We did it and do it together. We are a team. That’s what mum didn’t have but that’s what she created, and we have followed through on. Her nature was to lead by example – something she never had, and she nurtured us that way. My father – now that’s a whole other story.

Do you struggle with Imposter Syndrome, a Scarcity and Fixed Mindset, poor Emotional Intelligence, always feeling the Victim, and other limiting factors? These days, I see a lot of people talking about these personal limiting factors, but not a lot of talk about how to overcome these things. Like everything else in life, these issues are part of a greater systematic challenge. They cannot be dealt with in isolation. Our personal limiting factors tend to boil down to one thing – FEAR. Not the fear of heights, spiders, or fire. These are real things that can genuinely hurt you. No, I am talking about the fear of things like failure, loss of confidence, and ridicule. You may have heard the acronym, False Evidence Appearing Real (FEAR). This is what holds you back. The FEAR Zone is what keeps us from moving out of our Comfort Zone and into the Zones of Learning and Growth. However, this Zone of FEAR is manifested in our own limiting beliefs. We create this Zone in our own minds. There are two types of fear. Fear of the known and fear of the unknown. Fear protects us. I am afraid that, if I jump off a 30-story building, I will die. However, I am not personally afraid of heights – I am just afraid of doing something stupid like jumping off a 30-story building! Though I am sure you have seen many thrill seekers who defy fear in crazy ways. I will not touch a hot stove because I am afraid of getting burned, yet many people every year walk across hot coals. Firewalking has been part of Tony Robbins’ coaching program for 40 years. Fear is what keeps you safe. It is what protects you

from anything you perceive that could hurt you. However, fear also can demotivate you and destroy your confidence. Fear is just an emotion – it is part of our personal risk management system. Our mind perceives something as a risk, and then physically encourages us to avoid that risk as a mitigation tactic. Fear manifests itself in many ways: sweaty hands, upset stomach, crying, even complete withdrawal due to panic. The problem is when fear is of an imagined danger. When you buy into this FEAR, then we lose our confidence and motivation. Overcoming FEARs from imagined dangers – especially those that hold you back – is critical to becoming unbelievably successful. Courage and FEAR are like bedfellows. The Wizard gave the Cowardly Lion a medal in the classic 1939 movie, “The Wizard of Oz.” But it takes more than a medal to build courage. Ways to increase your courage and deal with your FEARs are as follows: Understand that fear is just an emotion and fear itself cannot hurt you Name and then face your fear When you start to feel afraid, stop and breathe – relax your body – be mindful You may have heard people say, “Do something every day that scares you.” Well, there is validity in that statement. The best way to overcome FEAR is to repeatedly face it in small doses. The first step is to recognize what you are afraid of and how it is impacting you. Understand what your fears are preventing you from doing. I was afraid of public speaking and I was afraid of water (specifically swimming). Both fears have been overcome. I beat them back by facing them – confronting them – little-by-little. When you recognize your fear, then you can work to AUTHORITTI5.0 MAGAZINE |

overcome it. The most powerful weapon in your fear-fighting arsenal is your mind. You need to overcome your fear by telling yourself that you are not afraid of your fear. I think that many people believe that overcoming fear means that the fear is gone. I do not think so. I still am afraid of public speaking. I still get butterflies in my stomach before I speak. However, I recognize that public speaking will not hurt me. Then, I focus on the nervous energy that fear causes and turn that into positive energy on stage. I use that fear to make me a better speaker. As I like to tell people, “I get my butterflies to fly in formation.” Our crucial step to pushing past our FEARs is to recognize them. This is why self-awareness is so important in emotional intelligence. It is our ability to recognize our blind spots -- why we "get in our own way." Recognition occurs through data analysis. But what data exists in our lives? Data comes from always looking back at what has occurred, why it occurs, how you felt, and how you reacted. This analysis often requires expert help. This analysis is your first step to facing your FEARs. It allows you to "Name Your FEAR." Naming it shines a light on it -- calling it out is accepting that this FEAR is holding you back. However, we are often afraid of recognizing and accepting that we even have limiting factors. Accepting is scaring -- so, we would rather stay in our Comfort Zone and remain blissfully unaware of our real FEARs.

Armed with self-awareness, you have the wherewithal to be mindful in the moment. When you feel FEAR grip you -- sweaty hands, upset stomach, tearing up, even wanting to withdrawal – stop. Focus on what is scaring you. Name it – make it face the light! When you can recognize your FEAR in the moment, you can react and deal with it. Stop letting FEAR push you into Imposter Syndrome, a Scarcity and Fixed Mindset, poor Emotional Intelligence, and feeling the Victim. Deal with it today! What fears are holding you back? What are your fears preventing you from accomplishing? Confront and overcome fears that attack your confidence and motivation. Otherwise, your fears will prevent you from becoming unbelievably successful.

HOW TO BE A 6-7 FIGURE MOM - MONEY MAKING MACHINE— WITHOUT THE HUSTLE, GUILT AND STRESS! By Louise Taylor

AUTHORITTI5.0 MAGAZINE
Calling out the mom’s - It’s your time to make moula’s baby! Surveys show that finances are one of the number one causes of stress and family breakdown As a mum of 3 and entrepreneur, for 20 years I’ve been helping high performing corporate mums, entrepreneurs and dads to double up their 6-8 figure companies. Here’s what I learned.
MOM MONEY KEY #1
PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
To create wealth - use your instinctive ability to see what others can’t see, tap into your creative genius, be ready to learn anything and apply skills like personal branding, sales, creating an online business, marketing, doing the numbers, and mindset shifts.
MOM MONEY KEY #2 BUILD A CONFIDENT MONEY IDENTITY: This is one of my FAVOURITE topics !
When we haven’t been exposed to business, YOUR MENTAL ‘MONEY’ ROOM CAN entrepreneurship, investment strategies or plain old BE LIKE THE KID’S BEDROOM ….YOU money management - these things seem foreign, and CAN SHUT THE DOOR AND IGNORE IT - we can then believe our money circumstances are our OR YOU CAN GO IN, CLEAN THE DANG identity = as opposed to what is possible!! THING OUT - AND CREATIVELY MAKE IT’S OK TO RISE ABOVE YOUR OWN ‘ROOM’ FOR MORE MONEY IN YOUR MOM’S MONEY CEILING: MIND, YOUR BUSINESS AND YOUR How was your mum with money? LIFE. BUT - in all the craziness - we can forget to enter the one room in the house that NO kid will ever clean out that’s right – it’s the MONEY ROOM! When there is pain or uncertainty associated with finance - we tend to avoid the conversation. But this just leaves us with one big messy room that we can’t deal with. Ask yourself the following so you can see if you have ‘avoidance’ syndrome about money: Do you feel like you are missing out on valuable time while you’re busy? Do you burn out because you do too much for others? Do you cringe when you think of spending money? Do you overspend beyond your means ? Do you feel absolutely confident to express your financial value to the world? Do you charge enough for your services, skills or products? Do you switch off when you hear people mention investments, trading? Do you HATE tax time, and accounting? Do you struggle to give yourself fun rewards? I don’t know how many high performing moms have told me they are not good with numbers. Pythagorus’ Theory can help you to find the shortcut - but you don’t need to understand maths in order to know how to fast-track to your 6 -8 figure ‘whale’!!!
We aren’t all born with moms who have modelled a confident money mindset, or positive money making behaviour. Our childhood experiences of money can be filled with painful reminders of lack, loss, heartache, or just not having enough. This then flows into our belief systems about money. My mum, Audrey, was a hard worker. She had a good job and a second job. She and Dad paid off their mortgage, and managed their money frugally. Mum invested a little, but was very careful about spending. She always gave money to people in need, and to causes she believed in. I admire what mum did with her money, with 7 kids. However, she didn’t have a business, and for me it took time for me to work out what that felt like, and give myself permission to be that kind of mom! I had to give myself permission to go beyond the levels of income my parents modelled to me - and feel ok about it.
DO YOU NEED TO GIVE YOURSELF PERMISSION TO BE THE MOM AND MONEY MAKING MACHINE. IT’S OK TO WANT IT ALL!! AUTHORITTI5.0 MAGAZINE |
27
JULY 2021
MONEY KEY #3 USE YOUR MOMMA EAGLE EYES! Eagles have 360 degree vision. This means like an eagle, moms can focus on what they need and go after it. They are boldly determined. They have a mission! Be like this when it comes to going after your financial needs. Learn to put your attention on the goal - not the fear! The same strength and courage that causes you to fight for your kids -can be applied to creating wealth! What have you become good at in terms of making things happen to find the money you need? Are you fast at noticing if something is about to go wrong? Do you know how to plan? Have you saved for something and achieved it?
YOU SURVIVED YOUR 2 YEAR OLD’S TANTRUMS. YOU CAN TACKLE ANYTHING!
PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
can make money teaching this! The skills you learn as a mom are POWERFUL!
MOM MONEY KEY #4 PUT YOUR BOSS PANTS ON. I cringe when I hear the words ‘time management’. When I had my first business in my late 20s. I had no structure.Yes I could multi-task like a runner on speed - however - I was constantly guilty about not doing enough for the kids, about not getting the washing on the line before 9am (or the next day). I realised as I studied human science, that my creative ability was a strength and a weakness. Treat EVERYTHING in your life like a project! Include mundane housework tasks, school, kids activities, business as if they were all part of a project. This uses the processing part of your brain, and allows you to create time for the daily things that need to be done – instead of forever feeling guilty. Outsource!
Have you ever tried negotiating with your 2 year old in a supermarket? Being a mom teaches us the skill of dealing with different personalities, new approaches. Little people think they are the centre of the universe. Sound like anyone else you know?
MONEY KEY #5
You are probably better at selling, marketing and messaging than you realise! As moms we learn resilience, independence, strength, courage.
If you can manage your own emotional life- you can successfully build a 6-8 figure business. The emotional roller coaster of money and life with a family is the biggest mountain you’ll ever have to climb.
WHAT IDEAS HAVE YOU HAD THAT YOU WOULD NEVER HAVE THOUGHT OF IF YOU DIDN’T HAVE KIDS? What do you naturally lean to, pay attention to and are good at? You

MOMS HAVE FEELINGS TOO! MAKING MONEY IS COUNTER CULTURE – AND FUN!!!
Learn habits of experiencing peace, love, excitement, adventure. Giving yourself permission to reward your wins. Be determined to drive your dreams – as others will not drive them for you.

CAREER TRANSITION
Some people feel stuck in their career coming right out of the college gate. Perhaps they chose a field of study out of a sense of obligation or think it is “what they should study.” In this edition of “How Your Next Executive Role Finds You,” I’m featuring John Kutac, Vice President of Franchise Operations at Code Ninjas. Code Ninjas is a growing franchise with a focus on teaching kids to code through game play with an emphasis on building lifelong critical thinking skills. Kutac’s career story is compelling for those who have not experienced a linear career journey and who are accumulating a wide range of work experiences. In his case, he went from leading franchise operations, to real estate financing, then healthcare products and service delivery. After earning a mechanical engineering degree, Kutac’s initial launch into the workforce was in the Food and Beverage industry. He entered Brinker International’s leadership training program and then helped grow franchise operations for Romano’s Macaroni Grill. Since then, he’s been at the helm of a number of franchises, such as Growler USA and The Whimsy Cookie Company. He also did business development for a real estate financing company and served as a leader in the healthcare space for both Clear Choice Dental Implant Center and WellBiz Brands, Inc. Important to Kutac’s career story, this article emphasizes his deeply held belief in the significance of leadership soft skills and building trusting relationships, which has been a critical element to his career transition success.
PEOPLE ARE LOOKING FOR LEADERS WHO HAVE BROAD SKILLS, BREADTH OF SCOPE, AND EXPERIENCE.
Tell me about your career journey. When you look back, did you have specific career goals?
I didn’t have a clear vision or guidance. I actually feel as though I’ve gotten my true compass in the last decade. My advice, for starters, is to not beat yourself up for not figuring things out early on. Don’t just chase income. Instead, pay attention to what you are learning.
I started my education in mechanical engineering, but I wasn’t passionate about it. I was young and thought it would be a sensible choice. I felt adrift upon graduation because I didn’t connect with the mechanical engineering base. Also, I did not have specific career goals and was simply matriculating into the workforce to earn money.
As I look back, I’ve been lucky in that I’ve worked in many different industries across a number of disciplines like operations, finance, legal, and leadership management. Large- scale and entrepreneurial. I used to worry I was a little fragmented, but I found it to be the complete opposite. People are looking for leaders who have AUTHORITTI5.0 MAGAZINE |

broad skills, breadth of scope, and experience. I would not trade that experience for anything. How did you find your footing? My first real job opportunity presented itself at Romano’s where I had been working for a long time as a server, and I had a real passion for the brand. I was approached by a food and beverage business developer who was a managing partner with Brinker International. He invited me to take part in a leadership program to support the company as it was expanding. It was an easy and natural transition. That leadership program was some of the best training I’ve had in my entire career. I started to see I had a natural inclination to drive the financials and the ability to lead people, which I can now see has been a common thread throughout my career. Your engineering base must have given you a foundation for critical thinking and problem solving. You take it with you and leverage it no matter the industry, right? Yes, I feel confident going in situations, to quickly assess and understand all aspects of a company and how it operates. Over time, I’ve gained the confidence to be decisive and make well-informed decisions. Let’s be honest: We have to make decisions very quickly right now. Having the experience and ability to see where things are going in a company gives me more confidence to make strategic moves. Have you ever felt stuck in your career? If so, what did you do to interrupt the pattern? I tend to be a resilient person and don’t need a lot of public recognition for my work. That said, when I think back to when I felt the most unhappy or stuck, it was when I had a lot of responsibility and was driving great results, but someone took credit for my work. It made me feel minimized, small, and underappreciated. It stole my trust.
CAREER TRANSITION
Because of this experience, I do the opposite. I always come back to kindness and trust. It is important I show empathy, keep perspective, and always be honest, direct, and respectful. Have you had role models, mentors, or sponsors you’ve leveraged who have been advisors in your career? There have been about five people who’ve had a profound impact on my career. The ones who impacted me the most impressed upon me the need to work with great people, engage in trusting relationships, and work in environments with mutual respect and open communication. One of the most important people who was a catalyst in my career was a managing partner at Brinker. He tapped me on the shoulder and opened doors for me that I would have never expected. He put me in uncomfortable situations when I thought I did not belong in the conversation, which accelerated my growth just by being in the room. It helped me gain footing and confidence. I also saw, firsthand, how they evaluated talent and how important it was to some of these key players to have an MBA. Another mentor emphasized the importance of trusting who you work with. Don’t go after salary and title as the main goal. He was dead on. Life is short. Work with common values, trust, and shared goals.
THE ONES WHO IMPACTED ME THE MOST IMPRESSED UPON ME THE NEED TO WORK WITH GREAT PEOPLE, ENGAGE IN TRUSTING RELATIONSHIPS, AND WORK IN ENVIRONMENTS WITH MUTUAL RESPECT AND OPEN COMMUNICATION. AUTHORITTI5.0 MAGAZINE |

As you know, this series is about how leaders effectively use the power of networking and relationship building to make their career moves. What examples could you share? I’ve never applied for a posted position and gotten hired. It’s just never happened. On the few occasions when I was actively looking, applying to job boards was almost like a black hole. It was very frustrating and I think many others experience the same thing. Every opportunity I’ve gotten has been relationship- and referral-based. I am constantly interacting with people, and I know people feel comfortable reaching out to me. My advice here is to make a healthy impact on your external connections because that is what drives the movement. People who know you. They connect you. My number one rule in life is just don’t be an A-hole, because it is a very small world and it’s getting smaller by the day. We are interconnected through social media, LinkedIn, and personal referrals. Next, don’t be afraid to reach out and talk to people. I have people reach out to me all the time to ask for references and referrals, and I don’t think twice about it. I am happy to do it. We want to help people we know. It is satisfying. Don’t be afraid to ask for help.
CAREER TRANSITION
DON’T GO AFTER SALARY AND TITLE AS THE MAIN GOAL. HE WAS DEAD ON. LIFE IS SHORT. WORK WITH COMMON VALUES, TRUST, AND SHARED GOALS. Do you have a standout transition that came about because you were in the right place at the right time? Yes, it was when I was not actively looking and was contacted about taking over the COO role for WellBiz Brands by someone who knew me well enough to reach out early on. That offer happened very quickly – in less than a month. It was the right place at the right time. I know that doesn’t happen very often. You must have left an impression and built a great reputation to have been reached out to like that. You know, I think there are a lot of leaders who have similar skills and can operate a business. I like to think in this case it comes down to them additionally thinking I was a good person who was good for their people, AUTHORITTI5.0 MAGAZINE |

organization, and culture. The behavioral aspect to leading people is the differentiator, in my opinion. What would you recommend to people to be seen and heard in a crowded market, especially during a global pandemic as they look for finite leadership level roles? I’ve had some standout connection requests and have a perfect example. There was a woman working the social channels who sent me a very bold, personal,/ short video saying, “Here’s who I am and what I can do for you.” It was great. I don’t typically respond to those kinds of unsolicited messages, but in this case, I took the time to go back and say, “Hey, you know what? That was great. And I appreciate it. The fact you did that means something to me even though we are not in a position to engage at this point in time. If you need any help, let me know.” I am still in contact with her to this day. We know we own our own careers and we can’t wait to get tapped on the shoulder. Are there ways a person might signal they are ready to come off the bench? Yes, I will say this is true from personal experience. People should not assume they are being considered for the next level role. While there might be a pathway forward for you, you simply might not be thought of at the moment. We all assume everyone recognizes what we are doing, but people have their own worlds going on. I’ve had people come to me and say, “Hey, I'm getting frustrated and I want a different challenge.” And I think, whoa, whoa, whoa! If a person is truly ready to take on more, then they need to bring it to someone’s attention. Let people know you want it and ready for it. I always appreciate it when people let me know.

MY ADVICE HERE IS TO MAKE A HEALTHY IMPACT ON YOUR EXTERNAL CONNECTIONS BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT DRIVES THE MOVEMENT. PEOPLE WHO KNOW YOU. THEY CONNECT YOU. Leaders don’t always know what you are thinking. They are thinking about the business, and they might not be specifically thinking about you and your career aspirations. When a leader has all areas covered, they focus their attention on areas of greatest concern. Unfortunately, quality people can end up feeling like they are stuck. So, go have that conversation! What mistakes do you see people make as they navigate a job search and more specifically, when they interview? The first thing I would advise is for people to do their homework. It seems basic, but it’s not basic at all. If someone comes in and knows nothing about the company, they don’t know the origin story, and they don’t have an approximation of the breadth of the company, location counts, things of that nature, it shows me there’s not a lot of intent there. It’s an easy way for me to weed somebody out right out of the gate, for sure. What are your top tips for leadership-level job seekers when it comes to networking and relationship building? Leverage your relationships. Don’t be afraid to ask. Go for something you may feel might not be there. We all need our first shot at that first leadership position. In last month’s article, we covered Part 1 of LinkedIn hashtags. In summary, it covered how to research what hashtags you should be following in order to make your News Feed more relevant. This month is the reverse. How, why and what hashtags you should be using in your own content in order to get in front of your right audience. Just in case you aren’t fully aware why this is important to know, essentially as we covered last time, following the hashtag topics of interest to you, makes your News Feed better. Just like you want your feed to be more relevant, so to do others. If you use the hashtags of interest to them, LinkedIn matches their interest with your content. Now you know the why, let’s cover the how. How many that is, and the number is a hotly contested subject that usually concludes anywhere from 2 up to 9. Until recently I for one sat firmly in the 3-5 bucket as that’s what my research with official LinkedIn sources had advised. But research by those in the content marketing trenches should also be considered as there is nothing like real world experience. Here’s what each concludes. Hootsuite 2021 Guide for Hashtags = Between 1-2 hashtags. This guide covered all social media including LinkedIn and from their scheduling data they recommend only 1-2. (blog.hootsuite.com/howto-use-hashtags/) LinkedIn Hashtag Best Practice Guideline = 3 hashtags. This is an official document published by LinkedIn via their help page and they state to use 3 hashtags. Not a range of numbers, simply 3. Via (linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/92930) Page 5 Creator Mode – LinkedIn for Creators Document = 3 hashtags. This document newly released with the latest Creator Mode feature also states 3 and refers back to the help answer above with a link (members.linkedin.com/linkedin-creatorsresources/content-best-practices)
Pete Davies former Senior Director Product Management LinkedIn and Daniel Roth current Editor in Chief, VP at LinkedIn = 3 hashtags. Both have stated separately via LinkedIn Lives and more recently Daniel live via Clubhouse that the best amount of hashtags are 3 Richard van der Blom October 2020 research = 3-9 hashtags. According to Mr Blom’s research analysing over 4500 posts, “posts with less than 3 or more than 10 hashtags have 20-40% less reach than posts with 3-9 hashtags. Once you decide how many hashtags you are comfortable with, now we need to move onto what hashtags to use. And this list, is literally endless. However, let’s see if I can help that decision keeping two main factors in mind. Firstly, do your research. What may seem logical to you isn’t necessarily the same as what your target audience like to follow. For example, and this is my favourite example by the way, as it illustrates the point beautifully, is in the accounting industry. Logically most people who target accountants and want them to see their content use the following hashtags: #accounting (180,720 followers on LinkedIn) #accountants (91,136) #tax (65,582) #taxation (17,848) #cpa (39,526) #ca (53,634) But with a little research, you may find an illogical gold nugget. #accountingandaccountants 4.5 million followers. Not something people would normally think of. The second consideration is once again directly extrapolated from the new Creator Mode documentation. LinkedIn’s advice is suggesting that content creators shouldn’t just use hashtags with the biggest following.
AUTHORITTI5.0 MAGAZINE |

JULY 2021
The document states more niche topics are getting better engagement. The example they used was #PerformanceManagement (4,780 followers) rather than the broader #Management hashtag with (36,082,036), which is a really big drop in numbers. In conclusion, considering the vast number of hashtags to choose from coupled with LinkedIn’s suggestion of only 3, makes selecting your hashtags a bit of a needle in a haystack. But if you do your own research and get it right, welcome to the world of viral and trending content on LinkedIn directly to your target market. Good Luck!

Challenges are unavoidable, more so when you're a parent. Providing the best life for your children presents the most challenges and requires you to make some tough decisions for the betterment of their future. These decisions can lead to sacrifices, perhaps on dreams of starting a business, pursuing a specific career, hobby or otherwise. Things occur a certain way and may stop you in your tracks of what you think is possible.
LEADING WITH THE BRAIN IN MIND
As demotivating as these statements are, they cause a deep belief that prevents us from taking action in the future. We hear about extraordinary people overcoming challenges all the time, but when we see them, our first thought is, "well, I can't do that because of X or Y". So, how do we overcome these statements? Empowering ourselves starts with a solid foundation and an understanding that succeeding personally and professionally starts with solid self-awareness and embracing yourself for you, not what 'labels' society designates you.
But that does not have to be the case. While I may not know the intricacies of parenthood, I do know that it is possible to retain these dreams and work towards challenging goals while your daily life happens and seems hectic. All too often, we rely on external factors and circumstances to 'allow' us to succeed but to excel and become your source of empowerment, you have to look from within.
It is said that the sky's the limit. We can wish, dream, visualise, manifest and practise affirmations, but before those can take effect, we must first develop the groundwork from within. If we look closely at the women, men, and youth doing great things, one thing is common - they embrace who they are now and continue to work on their goal regardless of what others are saying.
I know this sounds cliché but unlike a fairy tale where things always turn out the right way in the end, moving towards that goal requires direct action to achieve them.
This helps keep the momentum high and provide the needed motivation to reach those goals. Addressing these odds becomes substantially more manageable when you channel your gifts.
Addressing the Odds
Channelling What Makes You Unique
It's not uncommon for us to develop pre-conceived odds externally throughout our lives. These could develop from childhood where our parents tell us we'll never achieve x or y because of where we grew up. Or hearing negative talk surrounding race, gender, looks or otherwise and believing that something is unachievable if you don't have the right qualities. Have you ever heard "once you have children, say goodbye to your dreams"?
We must focus on where our energy is placed to thrive and do something different, and that focus is best placed on acknowledging oneself. Channelling your focus on your gifts, talents, and all that makes you human opens up opportunities to make money, start a business, build and create a career and go beyond the status quo that keeps one stuck or limited.

Once you answer these questions and understand what makes you unique, you can start taking direct action rather than being a bystander in your life waiting for something to happen. We can further amplify our ability to adapt and change course by employing other brain-friendly activities.
Be Realistic With Your Expectations Nothing discourages us more than failing to meet important goals, but we set ourselves up for failure if they are unrealistic from the get-go. Instead, create small but achievable goals. We'll feel rewarded as a result and more likely to continue onto the bigger goals.
Embrace Everything About Yourself
LEADING WITH THE BRAIN IN MIND
Forget those pre-conceived limitations and believe in your own ability to adapt to your surroundings and become the person you want to be - by leveraging the amazing person you are right now.
Be Open to Learning New Things No matter how much of an expert you are in your field, there is always something new to learn, even if it is only a new way of doing what you already know. Being open to new information helps form stronger neural connections, aiding information retrieval in the future.
Ask Brain-Friendly Power Questions Affirmations can have incredible effects on our selfperception. We can go a bit deeper by asking questions about the meaning you give certain thoughts. These help us get unstuck when we're unsure why there are obstacles in our path. Most of the time, these obstacles are self-created and require more profound thought and work to remove successfully.
Empower Yourself You'll start to see yourself in a new light after implementing and using these tactics. Instead of accepting life as an "It is as it is", you'll begin to see openings you can take to put yourself on a new path. A path that you've long desired to be on but couldn't find the right way, time or opening to get to.
The key to becoming your own source of empowerment is to embrace who you truly are.

TAKE AIM!
PART 2
WHAT IS AIM
ANYWAY?
BY LEE ROWLEY

JULY 2021
AUTHORITTI5.0 MAGAZINE
Hey there, friend. How about you give that swiping finger a rest for a minute and join me for the second installment of “Take AIM!” - a series that shows you how I write copy that connects and engages in just the right way. The “AIM” I’m referring to is the Avatar Immersion Method, which is the foundation of every successful piece of copy I’ve written in the past 6 years. So what is the Avatar Immersion Method, anyway? Well, it’s nothing fancy, I can tell you that. In fact, its power lies not in sophistication or “breakthrough thinking” or any of that rot… but in rather pedestrian work that many copywriters and business owners routinely overlook.
COPYWRITING
3. It uncovers “pain points” and desires that you might never have considered, giving you the leverage to stand out from your competition. (“You UNDERSTAND me!”) 4. It inspires copy that feels genuine and authentic (because it IS - after all, you’ve done your homework)! 5. You become the luminary of your industry - and the ONLY choice for your buyers - simply because you are more accessible than your competition. I don’t want to give you the impression that the Avatar Immersion Method is an “EZ button,” though - you’re not going to bumble onto massive emotional treasure like One-Eyed Willie’s pirate ship in The Goonies.
I think of it more like treasure-hunting.
It can take a week or two of following ideal buyers around (online - I’m not trying to get you a restraining order) to get a handful of insightful details to weave into your marketing copy.
The treasures we’re looking for are ways we can uniquely, memorably, and meaningfully connect with our ideal buyers.
But rest assured, the more you listen, the more minitreasures you’ll find to make your copy sticky and compelling!
They’re peri-conscious “tells” that reveal the emotional tapestry behind the mask.
Let me give you a quick example of the kind of treasure I’m talking about:
In other words, we’re peering into buyers’ minds and discovering things about them that they’re not consciously aware of themselves.
Several years ago, I worked with a client who offered a holistic treatment program for rheumatoid arthritis (RA) sufferers. She wanted to expand online, but wasn’t getting any traction in an ocean of competitors.
“Grunt work,” some would call it.
Now, why would you want to do that? 1.90% of what drives buying decisions is “hidden” in the peri-conscious. I put “hidden” in quotes because it’s perfectly obvious when you pay attention and know what to look for. But it’s incredibly easy to see certain behaviors and beliefs in someone else and fail to recognize them in yourself.
My team’s research showed that all of the competitors had focused their marketing on the same two “pain points” - joint pain and fatigue.
2. Revealing buyers’ unspoken internal monologues to them creates instantly memorable trust and authority. (“You know me better than I know myself - you MUST be legitimate.”)
After several days’ research, we noticed a post in a private Facebook group that contained a “treasure.”
These are definitely two of the most front-of-mind symptoms of RA, but I wanted to go deeper.
The author revealed that tensions had grown - and flared into full-on arguments - with her spouse over

COPYWRITING
The reason? Her spouse felt forced to sleep on the sofa because of her constant tossing and turning, brought on by RA pain. She was exhausted. Her spouse was, too. And on top of it all, she felt guilty for “causing problems” with her RA symptoms! So we weaved bits of that story into the copy by asking questions like, “Do you feel like your RA symptoms even make it impossible for you and your partner to sleep in the same bed? And even though you can’t help tossing and turning, you still feel guilty about it to, right?” When we published the new copy, more of her prospects started becoming buyers - and one even emailed my client, “I can’t believe it - you GET me!” That’s the kind of reaction you want… because they’ll buy from you no matter how many competitors want to take them away from you. That’s a pretty good position to be in. Ok, I’m out of space for now, but immerse in the rest of the wisdom here, and get ready to suit up for some more Avatar Immersion in the next issue. See ya then!

These experiences are by no means unique, and I have made it very often after Vanessa, and since my experience with Vanessa it has always been particularly important to me to form teams with a high degree of diversity and above all with women and mothers. Out of their natural mindset, mothers do what matters first, concerning their child and their personal and professional journey. While many men try to organize and drive plans through command and control, mothers use empowering, emotional intelligence and make more fact-based decisions. The freshness and the zest for action also depend heavily on the inner satisfaction and the positive purpose and challenges. And raising children also contributes to this.

MINDFULNESS
10 FUNCTIONS OF THE UNCONSCIOUS MIND USEFUL FOR MANIFESTATIONS By Falguni Katira
AUTHORITTI5.0 MAGAZINE |
56
JULY 2021
Manifestation is the domain of the mind. Because the mind does its best to be in charge at all times, it is important to focus on the mental paradigm first before we can truly manifest anything in real life. Manifesting wealth, health and everything in between becomes very easy, once we are mentally and energetically vibrating at the same level of the thing that we want to manifest. It has to be an exact energy match. To understand how we can tap into the Unconscious Mind (UM) and utilize it to our optimum advantage, we need to understand its primary functions. The unconscious mind has many functions and capabilities, I’ve listed ten of them below… We can tap into these functions and align with them at a vibration level to actualize all of our heart desires.
MINDFULNESS
mind knows our ideal state of being. It’s the mechanism that signals us to rest and rejuvenate. It regulates our health. In other words, the mind maintains all of our bodily functions. So, in order to manifest health, both mental and physical, we need to take out the time for proper rest and practice self-care.
Function #3 - The Unconscious Mind Enjoys Serving Us: UM is extremely powerful. Our mind needs clear orders. Whatever we tell the mind it translates that as an order. Everything you say after “I AM…” becomes your reality. In other words, our mind likes to take orders from us... it likes to serve us. The mind can be tamed. It
Function #1 - The Unconscious Mind Stores All of Our Memories: UM is a big warehouse where all of our memories are organized and stored. In order to manifest health, wealth, prosperity etc. you need to make sure you’re continuously and consciously holding pleasant memories of the same.
Function #2 – The Unconscious Mind Runs Our Body: UM has the perfect blueprint of what our body is like today and what it should ideally be internally and externally. This means that the
looks for commands, therefore if we aren’t happy with our lives, we can give our mind some new commands. We can definitely control the mind and therefore control all of our experiences and manifestations in our life with the power of the UM.
Function #4 - The Unconscious Mind Represses Memories: UM represses memories that are associated with negative emotions. Therefore in order to manifest happiness and positive outcomes in life, we get to associate our experiences with positive emotions that can repeatedly bring us continued joy.
AUTHORITTI5.0 MAGAZINE |
57
JULY 2021
Function #5 – The Unconscious Mind Controls & Maintains Our Perceptions: Our reality of the world is based on our perceptions. Perceptions are powerful and unique to us. All of our experiences and the stories we tell ourselves create our perceptions. They are generated, stored, and maintained in the mind. Our mind gathers all the data points that form our perceptions, and our perceptions guide our actions. Our actions in turn guide our manifestations. Therefore, it is very important to perceive things with an open mind. If we believe we can, we will.
MINDFULNESS
super intuitive. Repetitive behaviors form habits and those habits determine the quality and frequency of our manifestations in life.
Function #8 - The Unconscious Mind is Symbolic: UM easily remembers by associating symbols. It files symbols and responds to symbols. It also files memories and the emotions associated with those memories by leveraging our five senses. Having symbols and signs of the things we want to manifest around us, make for a good reminder to the mind to help
Function #6 – The Unconscious Mind Generates & Stores Energy: We communicate with our energy more than we communicate with words. Our energy gives the people around us a clear idea of our true being. Our mind generates, stores, and transmits energy to the entire body. The mind determines how much energy we have. Energy is that which connects what we want from what we have. Our energetic vibrations manifest all things in life that are vibrating at the same level as us.
Function #7 - The Unconscious Mind Maintains Instincts & Generates Habits: Instinct is a natural tendency that can be connected to what we’ve learned and also experienced. When we follow through and respect those instincts, our mind presents more and more of them to us thus making us
bring that to us in real life.
Function #9 - The Unconscious Mind Works on the Principle of Least Effort: UM likes to take the easy route to reach its noble goal of peace and calm. It prefers to avoid confrontations, hard work, and stepping out of its comfort zone. The mind takes the path of least resistance. It does not want to get into any conflicts or confrontations. Therefore it becomes all the more critical to strongly believe in the thing you want to manifest and fully accept the fact that you deserve it.
Function #10 - The Mind Does Not Process Negatives: The way we speak to ourselves and others matters. Our mind does not process negatives. The way we speak... the emotions we

convey… the language we use... makes all the difference. The way we string words together matters, because words are commands for the mind. So saying things that are opposite of what you want to manifest in life is never a good idea. Becoming aware of these critical UM functions is fundamentally important before we set out to manifest any positive thing in life. Just know that the thing you want has to be available, acceptable and believable mentally first, before it can really come into your life. Firm your energy towards your goal and you’ve already entered the zone of divine manifestation.
Happy manifesting!

Let’s talk about the intersectionality of neurology, biology and mysticism.
1990s with Wayne Dyers “your thoughts create your reality”.
Yep I’m talking about Neurology as in the Brain Biology as in your Body Mysticism as in the magic you can create
These repetitive thoughts (over decades, sometimes lifetimes) are embedded in our body which houses our feelings.
What happens when we combine the power of these 3 components? Your deepest desires materialise, actualise! In other words become real. Here’s how it goes! Your neurology helps you to imagine what could be. Your brain creates thoughts. In simple terms, you think. You can think reality or you can think in your imagination. Both have amazing magical powers.
Your thoughts create your reality Your sensations create your reality too. Now imagine that you thought your desires to be true. That you were with your lover That your body was healthy That you receive the money that would change your life (insert $ amount) And you focus on this thought, let’s call it an intention 30-60 secs a day. Yep that’s all it takes.
Your body where your soul speaks incessantly and eventually cannot be ignored. Although we try, in most cases for decades. Your body doesn’t lie. Learn to listen to it and you can create magic so much faster. It’s the fast track to your deepest desires. Oh yeah! Your body is where you feel your sensations. This is important. So now we know our thinking is in our Brain. Our Brain forms our thoughts. And our body informs our feelings. What happens when we combine thoughts and feelings and we add desires? We know that our Brain cannot discern reality from imaginable world - it believes your thoughts. Hence the biggest breakthrough in personal development in

How would it smell? You get it sensationalise it as much as you can. Bring in mysticism which is the imagination realm plus props plus awarenesses. Be curious what are some natural law correspondences towards your thoughts and body. Do you need to add water or earth? Would fire or air help?

So we add a candle We write our intention, manifesting request, our ask so the Universe (Higher Self, Universe, God, Source) knows what to deliver. Then we sensationalise it - mix thoughts with emotions Add some pretty natural things, rocks (aka crystals which come with metaphysical prosperities), herbs which come from earth too, an incense or smell of choice, awakening the primal part of your brain, amygdala (knows all from all lifetimes) mix with true, unwavering belief that you deserve to receive what you are devoted to. Showing disciple unto oneself. Be sacred and with honour. Then here’s the kicker Forget it all Let it go Watch it come in! Most of the time in the most unexpected delightful and most thrilling, decadent ways.

It’s so simple It’s scary! As humans we complicate almost everything we do. Overthinking leads to paralysis - stops you from desiring, calling it in, believing, having faith. Ignoring your body as a vehicle for your soul is the human game. Tap in - it’s your soul speaking. With a few simple, doable and practical tweaks, manifesting, intentions and the ask can be real. Manifesting is a game that you can play. Manifesting good in your world brings good to the world. Manifest for the world.

1. Listen to your interview before editing If you start slicing out chunks of conversations before remembering the rest of the podcast, you could remove things that are referenced later on and creating a lot of extra work and potential for mishaps.
2. Take note using timestamps As you listen, take notes of edits you want to make and include the timestamp of where this edit will take place in your recording.
3. Keep the blank space while editing If you edit out short pauses in the conversation or long sections of dialogue, don’t smush the rest of the conversation together yet - leave the blank space. Otherwise, none of your timestamps will make sense anymore. Or, another handy trick is to work through your timestamped edits in reverse order.
4. How to edit a podcast if one person is a lot quieter Depending on how much quieter the recording is, this is something you may want to fix during the recording process by ensuring your guest’s microphone has a strong signal. If the level is too low then increasing the gain (or volume) in the editing process will result in a lot of background hiss which can be hard to remove. It’s always best to start with a good recording level in the first place. But the easiest way to manage this issue in post is to increase the gain of the lower-level speaker before you begin editing. You can do this by normalizing the audio (a function available in all DAWs) or by adding some compression with makeup gain to increase the loudness.
