If I had one wish, it would be to show every human that they are made up of real currency in the form of their knowledge, wisdom, skills, gifts, talents, traits and unique attributes. Imagine the world we could create if this was a conscious realisation. Innovation would be on a whole new scale.
This is why I have not watched mainstream media since 2012 It freed up so much space inside of me
Sadly, most of us buy into a belief system that is really a checklist. No matter what culture, race, colour you come from the narrative is pretty much the same. Get an education, get married, get a good job, have a family, have debt and live happily ever after. I often ask myself why so many men and women have a ‘midlife crisis’ and I have come to the conclusion that it’s really a soul crisis. Here is why. The checklist that we buy into feeds the brain and provides a sense of security. In other words, if I achieve this then I will be safe. The soul, on the other hands LOVES uncertainty because that is where our true currency comes to life. I call this our authentic purpose.
Do you ever remember being at school and your teacher presenting a subject on your soul purpose? Do you ever remember being at school and your teacher presenting a subject on feelings? The answer is probably NO. But, therein lies the problem Feelings is the language of the soul and in order to have a fulfilled life, we have to learn our unique emotional blueprint IN ORDER to show up EVERY DAY in out natural state of being This is a topic I am extremely passionate about and something that I feel is often referred to as woo woo. But, what if it’s NOT woo woo? What if it’s who we are, truly Is this how mainstream media keep us away from stepping into our true feelings and instead keep us stuck in doom and gloom You see, doom and gloom will attract more doom and gloom It never leads you to the life you really want.

And he loves helping people like you to boss up, create abundance, and live big Mary I want to start with your professional and personal background How did you get to be the purveyor of high vibrations?
Carl Completely by accident Long story short, I got kicked out of my house when I was 14 I had a very fractious relationship with my father, and I discovered at an early age, that no matter how hard I worked or no matter what I did, no matter how I presented myself, for whatever reason, it wasn’t quite good enough Now the caveat is I’ve grown and learned a lot, and I’ve completely forgiven my father I understand a lot more now than I did at the time But when I was 14, I was a bit of a broken shell of a boy, sleeping on the floor on the beanbag at my best friend's house. I got adopted by another family. So basically I had all of this potential, I thought, but I was incredibly depressed, and it got to the point where I was suicidally depressed. I thought the way out of this was I was going to make loads of money and learn to be a lawyer. So I went to law school. I was the first person in my family on both sides to ever go to university. I picked law primarily because of the John Grisham books I used to read when I was a kid, but also because it was like, “I’ll show my dad I’m going to be a lawyer.” It was either a lawyer or a doctor. I was just picking one off a list. Like that would make him love me. And I say it tongue in cheek now, but that was it. I did five years of law, finishing in the top 5% of the class.

Carl And at the last minute, I had one of my first spiritual downloads, and I swear it was the voice in my head It was two weeks before I was supposed to start as a lawyer, and this voice popped in my head and said, “Carl, are you still pretending you want to be a lawyer?” And I was like, “Who said that?” But this insight hit me, and I knew I didn’t want to do this. So, I went to speak to my stepfather, who was a self made millionaire, a lovely guy who’s so far shown me nothing but love. I went to him too because he was the only one I could talk to. I told him I’d done five years of law, I put all this money into it, but I didn’t think I wanted to do it. What should I do? And he said, “Go and learn how to sell because if you learn how to sell, you’ll never be short confidence or short of a job because every entrepreneur on earth needs good salespeople ” But he also said, “You’ll grow in confidence ” So that’s the path that I went on I did three and a half years in the corporate world I was one of the top salespeople this company had had in 30 years But shockingly, the success and the money not only didn’t make me happy, but they also made it worse They forced me into this existential crisis where I realized that in my early twenties I was supposed to do something more with my life. Also I did not fit into this matrix where seemingly everyone around me was miserable. They let themselves get treated like they’re in prison. I was meeting guys and women who’d been working for this one company for decades, making millions a year. They had to beg for a day off. One guy wasn’t allowed to see his kid play on a sports day at school He’d just done a deal for close to a million dollars the day before, but they said, “No, you’ve gotta stay here ” So I had this huge shift where I needed to get out here, but synchronistically my sales director at the time, who did this completely selfishly from his perspective because he was trying to get me to sort my mindset out, said “Carl, you got so much potential, but you’re crazy. ”He said that because I was reacting to everything
I also got a bit of a push to do this because I was driving this battered old car, and in my head I was saying, “I just want to die, to be honest I’m never going to make anything of myself, and life’s too hard ” I was having these suicidal thoughts I was very powerfully putting out the lowest vibration like “Poor me, I want life to end ” The thoughts and vibrations were so powerful that I literally walked into an armed robbery, with two guns to my head. I heard these two guys asking if they should shoot the leery one.
I couldn’t handle being in that world He gave me a copy of a book called Psycho Cybernetics, and it changed my life It talks about self image first and foremost. The idea is that we have a self image, a story that to a very precise degree shows up in our life. So the story I was told was “I’m miserable, I’m depressed, I’m insecure, I’m not good enough and money will make me happy, and that’s what I need to do.” Because I told myself that story, that’s what manifested, and I realized very quickly and profoundly that isn’t it.

And in Essex, leery means arrogant. I called them on it, and I wasn’t scared of the guys with guns because I thought it was a joke. The point of sharing that story was at that moment I had a deep, profound shift that I didn’t want to die. This low vibration, the stories you’re putting out. That’s all that is. And I had this all in one second. I had this understanding that I didn’t want to die; I just hadn’t learned how to live. I was not alive yet. I was just not standing up for myself and making moves. The lesson here is you’re not doing anything you want if you’re living someone else’s version of reality, trying to fit in I took this experience as a sign from the gods, from the universe So with the mixture of that and Psycho Cybernetics, I started visualizing; I started playing with my subconscious beliefs And then all my Essex boys, who were working in sales as well, started saying to me, “Carl, what’s changing? You’re more confident, you’re getting more girls, you’re making more money, you’re happier Teach us what you’re doing ” So at the end of the day, they’d lie on the sofa, and I’d guide them in visualizations. I’d teach then about hypnosis or NLP or goal setting. So these boys, who had no proclivity towards self help but saw what was happening to me, wanted my help. I completely accidentally ended up doing this for a living. After two years of doing it with the boys, one of them said to me, “Why don’t you do this? This is the only thing that makes you happy.” I was like, “Well, perhaps I should.” That started an adventure where I’ve traveled around the world. I’ve learned from the best teachers on earth. I got to hang around with Bob Proctor several times before he died. Bob Proctor taught me a tremendous amount as did John Assaraf, Paul Scheele, Lisa Nichols, and all these incredible people from The Secret Then I created a business where I get to share their goodness with the world, help people to learn to boss up, to get their vibe up And long story short, if I hadn’t gone through being kicked out of my house, miserable and suicidal, and depressed, there is no way I would’ve stumbled upon this work and ended up doing it And I’ve already helped millions of people. I just turned 38. So the fact that I’m at this stage in my life where I have such a hugely profound impact on so many people already is because I got kicked out of my house, because I had guns to my head, and because I had a terrible experience in a real corporate environment. So it’s funny how things work out.

Mary Let’s talk about high vibrational frequency because that’s exactly where I want to zone in. You’ve shared your life story, but let’s just look at the average human being out there who, as you say, has a nine to five job, or they’re entrepreneurial and hustling hard, but nothing’s working out They’re going against the grain, and it’s impacting their life There’s no doubt about that, but what is a high vibrational frequency, what does it mean, and why is it important to understand what it means and how to apply it? Carl I’ve dedicated 12 or 13 years of my life to studying and implementing this, so I’ll try and give you a two minute summary of those 12 years. I look at vibration, especially if someone like me who grew up in Essex, outside London, as a sort of masculine energy. The idea of learning about vibration was always very woo woo to me. I was given an Esther Hicks book, Ask and It Is Given, probably a year after I'd read Psycho Cybernetics, and I immediately discounted it It just scared me The idea that our thoughts and vibration and feelings attract to us things was something I wasn’t ready for But then a few years later, after experimenting with all this, I realized the truth of what Esther Hicks was pointing to and that is that vibration is just our emotional state
And, one more thing. When we're in a high vibe, life seems to flow.
JUNE 2022 AUTHORITTI5 0 MAGAZINE COVER AUTHORITTI5.0 MAGAZINE | 8 VIBRATION IS BASICALLY JUST OUR EMOTIONAL STATE
We’ve all had experiences of being in a crazy high vibration almost every day. We might have a moment at least like that. So it’s not an unattainable magical Christlike state. Being in a high vibration for me is a mixture of love and or gratitude or enthusiasm, or excitement; it’s really to do with the story I tell and how I react to it See, most of us believe that our vibration or our emotional state, how we feel, is directly correlated to what’s going on around us If I have a good day at work, I’ll be in a high vibe If I have an argument with my spouse, I’ll be in a low vibe. What I learned and continue to learn is that actually, it’s the other way around. It’s an inside out experience. So my job is to understand that if I’m in a high vibration, I’m in alignment with my goals, with these high values, like love and gratitude. Plus I feel good. I’ve sort of won the game of life already. It doesn’t matter if I’m not a billionaire yet, or if I haven’t achieved this thing that I say is important to me. but if I wake up and I feel grateful, happy, and excited for the day, like before we started this interview, it’s a high vibe I know people who do the exact opposite Their attitude is: It’s so tough to be me, it’s going to be such a tough day, I feel terrible, etc The biggest lesson I want to share with people is that your vibration is completely independent of anything else because you get to choose. Now, there are ways of raising your vibration, which I’d love to share with you, but at the deepest level, your vibe is just how you feel. And because how you feel is directly related to the thoughts that you’re thinking, the law of attraction 101, you really do have complete control over your vibration.

COVER or a walk or a drive somewhere nice, putting yourself in a space But the stillness is you’re taking yourself out of the 3D material world of problems and challenges, money, mortgages, business, and all of this Solitude, as Wayne Dyer said, is when you’re in solitude, the universe whispers to you and it reveals its secrets I know a lot of people who have four or five kids; they have careers, and they’re crazy busy. But even so, they can take 10 minutes upstairs on their own to have that solitude. I’m just going to have 10 minutes in my own solitude. Silence. And then the stillness, which for me is meditative. I’m going to let that monkey mind quieten down a bit. I’m going to focus on what I'm grateful for or I'm just going to focus on my breathing. What I find is whenever I do this and again, 10 minutes a day of just time for me on my own, that enables me to process the day to get downloads, ideas, shifts for things to solve themselves on their own, and to quote the late great Wayne Dyer, for the universe to whisper to me One of the keys that I teach my students is when we get inspired, we move on it JUNE 2022 AUTHORITTI5.0 MAGAZINE | 10 When we’re in a low vibe, it doesn’t matter what we do, how hard we work, how much we struggle we tend to manifest things on that low vibration. So for all the reasons I mentioned and many more, learning how to be in a high vibe, amplify it when you’re in it and enjoy it, is one of the coolest things that I teach people. You learn that you could be happy, fulfilled, and excited today without waiting for the money or the fame or for this person to be perfect in your eyes or anything else And shockingly, when you project that out, you attract people, ideas, or resources that are on that level, but you have to make the first move And your vibe really is under your control Mary Carl, I just want to expand on that I also think we as humans need to enter into a space of self inquiry and curiosity because when we open up to that, we start to ask deeper and better questions and critical thinking starts to take place. And I think that we, as humans, get stuck in this paradigm, and we're on the hamster wheel. We rinse and repeat, but we want a different life. Yet, I learned that when I’m curious.
I’m in expansion mode, so I’m open to possibilities. And this is like when you use that word download. I always get the downloads. I always get answers and opportunities; things just pop up out of the blue. And it feels like my prayer’s been answered. It’s because of that level of curiosity, something I think is such an important piece of the recipe. Carl Hallelujah. I taught a month long program end of last year called Magnificent Manifesting, where people got a little daily lesson from me every day The intention was to teach them how to become magnificent at manifesting in a month or less Now, one of the big lessons of the biggest shifts that people had aligns with what you just said I told people to practice the three SSS of manifesting every day for 10 minutes: Solitude, Stillness, and Silence. Now you can get all three of these in one by going for a walk with puppies in the woods, running a bath, going to the spa, yoga, or meditation, for example. If you’re very spiritual, you might want to do Tai Chi, or you could do it least spiritually by going

Joe Vitale taught me this: Inspired action is any action you take based on an inner nudge or a sense. We all get it, especially when we’re in solitude or silence, a little whisper like “I could send this email, I could go back to this old client, I could launch this product or podcast, but most of us talk ourselves out of it.” One of the most profitable in every sense of things I’ve ever learned to do is when I get an idea, I move on it instantly I praise the idea Thank you Wow I’m coming back from my walk, and I’m going to make that first move the second I get back and that’s it It’s not hard work I don’t have any fear of taking action I used to be the world’s best procrastinator. I called myself a perfectionist, which was just a lovely excuse for not doing anything. But you know, I realized from many of my mentors that the key is to move because it’s not about the results. For example, Jason Campbell introduced me to you. He said you should interview Mary because she's brilliant. Is she? My intuition’s like, yes. So it’s immediate movement. Most people, I believe, would spend hours, weeks, or months going back and forth asking themselves, “Is this the right move?” They ruin all the fun and joy by spending too much thinking of everything that could go wrong and that will lower their vibe as well So, solitude and stillness, then I get inspired, and I take action on it That all adds to my higher vibration and whether I win, lose, or draw in terms of the results, I’m on a different plane of reality. Why? Because when you are hustling or creating or you are challenging something you haven’t tried before, life is invigorating. It lights you up and people can feel it. We get so stuck in our heads, right? And one of my jobs is to get people to take a deep breath and just move and try something fun and different Mary I think that because we are in this society where we want instant gratification if we don’t win a million dollars in 24 hours, we think it didn’t work So we give up I think that that’s a big problem, but I want to move in another direction and speak on behalf of a lot of people about self help I do believe that self help is a door opener. You have to walk in and take the path of the road less traveled. Let’s just call it that for want of a better word. But I also believe that self help is dangerous because it can lead to self help addiction. And we know a lot of people like that. They just keep reading, but they never actually move from the start line. So I believe in positive thinking. I believe in raising your vibrational frequency and updating your thoughts. The self help industry is booming, but so many people are stuck and not living their best life Instead, they’re scrolling on social media or watching Netflix and living through best life Instead, they’re scrolling on social media or watching Netflix and living through other people’s stories. So what’s the problem in this scenario from your perspective? Carl Great question. On one level, there’s no problem with it whatsoever. On the other hand, there are many problems. If there’s no problem with it whatsoever, it’s because every human is on their own path Therefore I believe there’s no right approach, the wrong approach You’re doing great You’re doing it terribly We don’t know I’ve worked with people that I have done absolutely everything in my power to help, to show that clearly there is a better path for them Let me help you Let me bash you over the head with it Surely, you see the opportunity, but for whatever reason, it’s not right

If you kid yourself by having 200 self help books in the background and by talking all high and mighty to people about what a path you’re on, you’re sort of letting yourself off the hook. For me, all these incredible books are just clues. These are blueprints. These are ideas for us to take the challenges of whatever’s going on in our life and realize that someone has been there before on this road. Let’s see what they’ve got so that I can move on that. That is very different. I have moved on every one of these books here, every course I’ve ever bought. With every coach I’ve hired, I’ve held myself accountable, which means I’m going to listen to what they say Bob Proctor used to talk about this a lot in his books His earliest mentor said to him, lovingly, “Bob, you don’t know what you’re talking about because I’ve achieved these things you want So your job is to do as I say until I either prove it works or you prove it doesn’t work, or it works and you don’t like the way you’re doing it In that case, you’ve learned and then you can do your version ”
It is on the individual, Mary. I believe I’m a very compassionate, loving person; however, I believe in tough love. If you are scrolling on Instagram all day consuming rather than creating, if you are reading these books and they’re telling you the same thing for the last 10 years, and you're still not addressing that part of you that’s holding you back, it’s on you. There is always a move you can make. But the challenge is a lot of people at this point will start telling the story. “Well, I visualized for a week and I’m not a millionaire yet, so that doesn’t work.” Or we put down other successful people and we justify it by saying, yeah, “This is all rubbish ” Oh, what’s the next book? It’s the next shiny object I learned from Stuart Wild that it’s much better to be a bit addicted to this than it is to be addicted to heroin or crack, for example But even so, what if your job today was to pick one book that you already have, not a new one, and take one action from something in that book? What would you do?
But the other side of that is if we kid ourselves, this is just a high level of the game

Conversely, if Joe from around the corner who doesn’t like the look of my boy driving in his Bentley, says, “I’ll tell you what. You are making a big mistake with your business here,” I likely won’t listen. Let me tell you about money, lovingly, mate; you don’t have any. So I’ve learned over the years that I could be nice to that guy, but I’m not taking on any of that energy and also I feel him Now I like to pick books at random and open them up because there always seems to be a message for me I hold myself accountable that if I’m stuck or feel my energy shifting or I’m getting into the too tough stories, my job is to make a positive move And it is a movement So you don’t need a new course, and you don’t need a new qualification You need to take a deep breath Often that means going within, or a coach or a guide might be able to help you, but really go within and ask, “Why am I scared to do this? What’s the worst that can happen?” Just do it today. Take a deep breath and experience the joy alone. But the key here, Mary, is that the more people kid themselves, the more they get addicted to the old social media. They care desperately about what people think and get the approval of strangers. That’s a recipe for disaster, because when your energy is completely dependent on randomness,
Never take anything personally. You are just projecting. Also when people tell me how glorious I am, same thing; I’m like, that’s lovely, but you are just expressing the same within you So, in short, one of the big boss lessons is learning to be our person And that means that your praise or your criticism can’t get me; your arrows can’t shoot me down And also I’m in touch with my spirit, my soul, and the universe, which will whisper to me And I swear, that's going to give you the highest possible path for your life as opposed to listening to others. So if you get yourself off Instagram, pick one action to take today before you go back to worrying about everything and do that one thing. Just treat the next hour as if it’s your one and only thing, pour your best work into it, and enjoy it. And that alone will shift your day in terms of your energy, your confidence, and more. Mary I want to lead into a topic that I think a lot of people are familiar with, which is the law of attraction I think a lot of people have attempted to use the principles, that state that you have to be clear about what you want You have to believe in it, and you have to let go of the attachment But 90% of the population who have watched “The Secret” and read all of the law of attraction books say it hasn’t actually worked for them. So where is the disconnect? Is it the heart? Is it the brain? Carl I humbly disagree. I believe that all these people you mentioned are world class at manifesting. And here’s why so many of the people I’ve met are truly successful. They do what they love, make loads of money, are genuinely giving and they hold themselves accountable every day and everyone’s got an opinion that they will share with you. I learned from Deepak Chopra that the truly enlightened soul pays no regard to the compliments, praise, and infatuation of others And equally, it pays no attention to the criticisms and hatred of others Now, if someone shares something with me that they believe will help me and they’re a super boss like Vishan, the CEO of Mindvalley, who does a hundred million a year, I'm going to listen to that man, because he knows what he’s talking about.

Mary I think that we’re already manifesting on a day to day basis. Whether it’s good or bad, we’re already manifesting. How do you actually channel it in the direction that you want it to go? Let’s continue the conversation from there Let’s talk about non beneficial thoughts that chitter chatter in the head How do we change the station to a higher frequency and design the life we want? Is there a secret code? Is there something that we need to find and download to just remove those thoughts in our head? THEY VISUALIZE IT. THEY FELT ALL THE POSITIVE ENERGY ABOUT ALREADY HAVING IT. WHAT HAPPENS NEXT IS THEY GET AN IDEA.
JUNE 2022 AUTHORITTI5 0 MAGAZINE COVER AUTHORITTI5.0 MAGAZINE | 15
They’re constantly evolving and growing. These people definitely believe, and they practice and talk about this nonstop. And I just read Rick Ross, the rapper’s autobiography; he’s talking about Napoleon Hill manifesting So at every level of the game, the people succeeding absolutely believe in it The people you’re pointing out, the 90% who aren’t, might create a new goal or an idea, but almost immediately after that, they start getting the doubts, the fears, the worries about what could go wrong. They then sit there and think about them. They give them focus and energy. They visualize their worries. What could go wrong? They try to resist them by talking about them and then because they don’t want this to happen, they’re very unattached to it. That’s why I created this 30-day course I mentioned. I know that in 30 minutes a day over a month, you can use the 30 little experiments I give you on those limited beliefs and doubts, and you can prove to yourself it’ll work But lovingly, for these people who say it’s not working, let’s say that they set the goal They visualize it They felt all the positive energy about already having it What happens next is they get an idea. A hunch, just like you started your magazine completely by accident, Mary, you had an idea about creating an article. But the inspired action took over. At any point, you could have resisted and said, “Well, I'm not doing a magazine. I said I was doing an article. This is a bit too much work. What if no one reads it?” But you carried on and you let it guide you. You carried on moving. Most people would’ve stopped there and gotten scared. And then they would blame the law of attraction. But the law of attraction gives us an idea. It’s our job to move on it. I believe that when we get an idea, the one and only thing we have to do after setting the intention of thinking about it is to move But when I have this chat with people, they say the law of attraction doesn't work I ask, “What’s your goal? What did you do? You focused on it You visualized And what was your idea? You must have had an idea to start this business or to go to this client.” “Oh yeah. But I got scared. I put the brakes on.” I'll say it was you. And then you went back to imagining all the things that could go wrong. I believe we all start at different levels in life, and we all experience challenges, but some people had very challenging beginnings. However, I have seen people from the most non luxurious beginnings create absolutely astonishing lives because they wouldn’t BS themselves. So if you’ve achieved anything in your life that you set an intention on and you got it, you know how to manifest and it’s doing you no good by saying that this doesn't work It’s nonsense Because if you go within, you’ll be able to identify where you’ve actually stopped the process, wherever it was where you didn’t let yourself believe you could have it. Or you focused on what was missing or what you were worried about. Or you didn’t take action. There’s always a way to create what you want. And truly one of the most empowering things, even though it’s scary at first, is to recognize a hundred percent commitment, a hundred percent responsibility.

Carl Well, first thing. T. Harv Eker, a great author, taught me this in his Secrets of the Millionaire Mind. of the Millionaire Mind. I’ve done a lot of work with him over the years as well Brilliant man on wealth consciousness He taught me first and foremost that we would be terrified if we knew how much a typical human complains and speaks low vibration words, especially about ourselves into existence So he set the challenge in a seminar I went to in my early twenties You have to go on a complaint fast for an entire week. So you’re not allowed to moan about anything out loud for a week. It took me 18 months to complete that challenge. And I was already quite positive. So number one is to understand your first job is you’re not allowed to complain or speak negatively out loud. This might be harder than you reckon. So you need to be mindful and catch yourself if you start putting yourself down. For example: “It’s so tough to be me I’ll never make that much money Our business is struggling ” Number one is, do not speak at anything out loud that you do not want to see manifested I really believe that I believe our words are spells They are magic in the truest sense Second, and this is a very simple secret that works for me: Anytime I catch my monkey mind going, or I notice that I’m on a negative path of thought or imagining, I use a very simple phrase. I think Joe Vitale taught me it, and it’s “Cancel Cancel ” If someone says something negatively in front of me, I’ll say “Cancel Cancel ” Don’t speak that out The last thing you want to do is say that
Of course, it’s not a miracle cure There will be times when I say “Cancel Cancel,” and that powerful mind wants to go in it. But more often than not now over years of practice, I literally just I’ll cancel that. No, no. What do I want? And then the pivot. What do I want instead? Sometimes that’ll be easy to imagine. Sometimes it’s tougher. I can’t imagine myself at my best, sexiest, most powerful, because I feel low, but that's a step up? Can I feel just grateful for anything? I’m grateful for this coffee. I’m grateful for the roof over my head. I’m grateful that I noticed this at this minute. If you are speaking out loud against yourself, how are you doing yourself any favors? I used to think it was self deprecating to say to people, “Oh no, I’m terrible at this ” But shockingly, people will like you for that And no one likes to be around people who moan or whine So just don’t speak it out loud And when you get caught up So just don’t speak it out loud. And when you get caught up in it, say “Cancel, cancel; I’m not going to focus on that. What do I want to focus on?” Misery likes company You’ll only attract people with that vibe It doesn’t mean you can never have a bad day, but if you have a negative thought, don’t beat yourself up That’s counterproductive Dr Paul Sheele gave me a great metaphor, which is if you imagine a beautiful lake in front of you and there’s turmoil in the lake, someone’s thrown a load of rocks in it, so it’s all wavy. But this is what the monkey mind thinks. It’s all wavy and smashing. What most people think they do to calm it down is to fricking belly flop into the lake and splash around; got to fix it and this makes it worse. Instead, the Zen warrior sits on the side of the riverbank and waits for it to calm, understanding that it will calm down of its own volition. Now, sometimes I might take a walk in the woods, have a nap, read a chapter of Harry Potter, or just put my feet up just about anything to take me out of that state But one of the most powerful things I’ve learned is when I feel the worry, that’s precisely the time not to make big decisions, not to try and fix it

instead, I notice it and I cancel that, let it g,o and understand that my vibe will come back to me. A lot of people act as if every emotion they feel is God’s truth and they need to deal with it now. Instead, they need to play with it. If only this week, remember that analogy of letting the lake settle, and from there, you’ll get insight. So now you can move things. You will see that things aren’t that bad. Don’t beat yourself up or don’t create stories when things are terrible It doesn't help Mary Absolutely So you talk about the art of living a lot and seven principles around that Can you unpack these principles for our audience? Just very high level?
Carl Number one, always vision intention a goal, a dream. We have to start with that. That is the foundational point. Because if you don’t have a clear vision that lights you up and gets you excited and gives you a reason to hustle or to move every day or to deal with the craziness that is life, you are going to be pulled along by someone else’s vision. Someone who’s got a stronger vision than you energetically and otherwise. You might say that’s terrible or that’s bad, but that’s the reality. A version of that is if you haven’t got a strong vision, you’ll probably end up working for someone who does have a strong vision and then doing what they want you to do to help them live theirs Conversely, if you go within and figure out genuinely how you would love to live every day, you’ll make it happen
![](https://assets.isu.pub/document-structure/220822095615-d7e3f1c5f9b5798f9c6dc62e7ef7e4a0/v1/c3c80a6ce69289a57365089b5b736dd0.jpeg)
Carl This is from Tim Ferris, author of The 4 Hour Work Week where I first found out about the 80 /20 principle. He said 80% of your success and happiness in life comes from 20% of the sources. So 20% of the activities you do in your work, but 20% of the people in your life, conversely, 80% of your drama, insecurity, problems, and challenges come from 20% of the people Now, this is the tough one because it means that to be the biggest boss you can be, you have to become someone who is willing to let go of situations, people, and circumstances that are not in alignment with who you are Now, this doesn’t mean you leave your family after one misspoken word or you don’t like the way hubby said that to you, right? But, if you are in a relationship for many years and someone’s putting you down constantly, it really is a huge challenge to deal with this lovingly. Of course, every relationship is different. But I’ve learned to go within and ask “Why am I holding onto this? Is it me? Am I actually the tormentor in this situation?” Or, if you go “No, really I’m doing my best and this person or this opportunity, this boss is not treating me how I want to be treated,” well, you are going to need the courage to take a deep breath and say, “No I am going to make the move and get out of this ” do I want to make it? How much do I want to work? What sort of things do I want to do? Start with those. Write it down, and burn it into your subconscious. I’m a massive believer in the power of the subconscious mind, creative visualization, brainwave entrainment, tricking our brains into a different state of consciousness, and imagining we have already achieved it from there As I mentioned earlier, when we focus on our goals every day and imagine them, we will get ideas, ideas of the currency of the universe We don’t get the briefcase full of money We get an idea that leads us to the briefcase full of money So we have to be on the lookout for that and take inspired action. If I get an idea, I’m going to move on it. I’m going to have fun. From there, some principles are love first. The research I did about you, from what Jason said to look at your website, from the second we spoke, I’m going to love every second of this. That’s how I made my business decisions.I want to make someone’s day every day. I will go out of my way to find a random stranger on the street and just shock and delight them because it’s not just altruistic; it’s actually selfish I know that will raise my vibe And the more you give, the more you receive You can’t outgive the universe Mary You talk about the 80 /20 rule You say that 20% of your ideas and strategies deliver 80% of your results.
I love that philosophy I truly believe in that also I think that a lot of people flip it, and I think it’s this idea that you just said before They’re doing something they don’t love They’re doing it to please somebody else And it's consuming 80% of their time, their mind, and their thoughts And they’re only giving it 20% It’s the opposite But you are saying 20% of your ideas are going to give you the love of your life.

The problem is most people are so attached to what they have and scared of the unknown that they will hold onto this bad thing, bad job, bad relationship, bad whatever for a very long time, rather than have the courage to let it go So if your current experience of the 80/20 rule is inverted, I would recommend you look at that 20% of people who light you up, make you feel amazing, and the activities that you do, because life’s supposed to be fun for you as well. Focus on them and let yourself do more of those things that make you happy. You’ll find that very naturally by having more time and attention on things you enjoy doing, you’ll probably spend less time and attention on those negative things, but lovingly, and it is a bit, tough love. That’s probably why you should hire someone like Mary to coach you because we often need help to recognize that lovingly we are doing this to ourselves. Now I don’t mean that in a victim blaming way; it’s about being a boss and taking responsibility If I’m letting someone talk to me like this, because I’m scared of being on my own or having to find a new job, I’m actually projecting to the universe, treat me like this because I’ll do anything for a job or I’ll do anything for a partner, when I believe it shouldn’t be like that And I’ll finish again with use your discretion, but it’s not about blaming other people. But if you have attracted people or experiences in your life that no matter what you try seems to be bringing you down, perhaps that is a sign that you have to shift it up. Seek the people, experiences, and things that make you feel grateful to be alive and remind you that we’re all on this same ball of rock hurtling through space, allegedly. And we are only alive for a little heartbeat at that. So the point of being miserable is very limited. So I'm not going to hang around with people who make me feel crappy or try and make me feel bad or hold me back.

AUTHORITTI5.0 MAGAZINE | 20 can Doesn’t mean I’m going to beat myself up if I stumble or slip, but for this one thing I’ll do my best But guess what? Sometimes after doing this one thing, you’ll decide to do another thing now and another. But really take the pressure off yourself. Commit to just one thing a day. And if you’ve got goals and if you are committed and serious, doing one thing a day will be easy to do. And it’s joyous. It’s tricking your brain. It’s tricking your subconscious into letting you off the hook. Again, often what happens is you’ll get inspired and want to do more. And the third thing, counterintuitively, is every day to try and make someone else’s day Take the attention off yourself, your ego, your woes, your story, if only for a minute I don’t stop until I hear the words, “Wow, you’ve made my day,” and I start in a coffee shop in the morning I give the Starbucks points to someone in the queue How can I be of service? So again, start your day with gratitude because that will trick your brain into being happy. So try and make someone’s day, give to them, and watch what happens to your ego, your fears, your doubts, and your energy by taking the attention off little old you and putting it on someone else. When I get in the car, when I walk the dogs, everything is nice, that gratitude is such a high vibration. It attracts people, opportunities, and resources, and it takes the pressure off you. It doesn’t matter what your goals are, or how successful what you’re hustling on is. If you feel grateful, you are close to God. You’re closer to that higher loving energy; life is good. Number two is one action in a day We put so much pressure on ourselves to be massive action takers, and we have to do more, be better, and be more productive We might do 1, 2, 3, or 5 great days of being Tony Robbins or the equivalent, but then on the sixth day, heaven forbid we slip because we’re exhausted and burned out. But what most people do then is beat themselves up for six days. Stuart Wilde, a great metaphysical teacher, said, “The key is to take one concerted action every day towards your dream.” He said the momentum that builds up, the energy, the flow, the synchronicities, the joy you’ll get from just doing one thing takes all the pressure off. Because I don’t have to do 50 things today, I just have to have a chat with Mary and do my absolute best That’s my one thing for my goals, my business today Now here’s the funny thing By taking pressure off of and focusing on just one thing, for the rest of day you have nothing to do because you AFTER DOING THIS ONE THING, YOU’LL DECIDE TO DO ANOTHER THING NOW AND ANOTHER. BUT REALLY TAKE THE PRESSURE OFF YOURSELF. COMMIT TO JUST ONE THING A DAY.

Totally doable and actionable. Now this is the last question, and it’s the one I ask all my guests. If you could meet one person who is no longer living, what would you ask them? Or what would you want to know? Carl I’d like to sit down with Napoleon Hill, who wrote The Law of Success and Think and Grow Rich, because when he was a young man, he was introduced by Carnegie, who was the richest man on earth at the time, to all these incredible people, like presidents. He had to work for free for 20 years to research and interview them to build what turned out to be The Law of Success and Think and Grow Rich. So, I’d love to ask him about his journey there and how he kept the faith through 20 years of unpaid labor. Also, the lessons he learned and the impact he had from helping millions of people. I just think it would be nice to have a glass of whiskey with him and to chat.

People, when it comes to scaling your business, bring two things: capability and capacity. Last month, we discussed how money comes into the scale conversation. The sixth area of business scale is People, Process, and Technology, also known as PPT in the business world. Over the next three months, we will discuss each of these areas in depth This will round out the six areas of the business scale If you would like to learn more about the six areas, check out this year ’ s past issues of Authoritti5 0 or review them in the publication section of my website, www crossctr com As I said, people bring two things to your business: capability and capacity. First, we will discuss these two concepts. Then, we will talk about the types of people you should consider for scaling your business and how you can source them. These discussions should help you better plan for the future of your business.
Capable normally means that the person is trained and has experience in the task at hand Most business founders come from one of three walks of life: 1) They deliver the product or service, 2) They develop it, or 3) They sell it Few founders know much about business ownership, strategy, technology, human resources, finance, or marketing.
Plus, they know one of the aspects of the business (delivery, development, or sales), but are not well versed in the other two To scale a growing company, you need to invest in the appropriate capability that you lack (or just do not want to do anymore) and pass off the responsibility to someone more competent.
Mathematically, with this in mind, it does not take a lot of work to figure out how much someone can accomplish and when you need to hire another person
CAPACITY
Capability is defined as the power or ability to do something. When it comes to people, capability highlights what people can do for your company.
Capacity represents the maximum amount that something can contain. When it comes to people, this basically represents how many hours they can work.
When you, as a business owner, max out your own capacity, you cannot do any more work Too often business owners exceed their own normal capacity and get burnt out Worse is when you exceed the capacity of your staff and burn them out Capacity is a measurable amount, so it can be relatively easy to determine. Most businesses use a planning factor of 2,080 hours per person. This equates to 40 hours of work a week, 52 weeks out of the year. This is accepted as the maximum number of hours someone can work without paying them overtime.
As a business owner, you typically are required to handle almost everything in a new business. Just because you are doing something does not necessarily mean you are capable of doing it.
Most companies factor about 80% of that amount (1,664 hours) into the true available time. The rest (416 hours) usually goes to things like vacation time, personal time, and other necessary activities.

People who fall into the operations category are your individual contributors to a specific area of the business They do the job every day or directly manage those that do the job every day They can work in any part of the company, but they essentially are adding to the capacity of that department It is usually very easy to determine how many people you need for an operations role. Their work is usually repeatable and easy to measure.
AUTHORITTI5 0 MAGAZINEJUNE 2022 GROWING, SCALING AND IMPROVING YOUR BUSINESS AUTHORITTI5.0 MAGAZINE | 27
When it comes to bringing on people to scale a business, there are three types of people you need to consider. These three types fall into Operations, Special Skills, and Senior Leaders. Below are outlined each of these.
SENIOR LEADERS IN OR OUTSOURCE
The biggest decision for business scale is to determine if you should hire full time people on staff or to contract what you need. Full time, insourced employees cost more when it comes to a fully burdened rate (salary plus benefits). But these employees can do many different things in the company versus just what they were hired for However, when the workload drops you are still paying for a full time employee
When trying to determine when someone is more of an operations role versus special skills, consider what they do and how easily they are to replace or even outsource For example, in technology, someone with special skills might be a network administrator, while operations might be help desk personnel. Those with special skills tend to fill a specific role and can be a little hard to measure to tell you when you need more of them. By far the most expensive are your directors, vice presidents, c suite, and the like. These are typically one deep roles. They develop the strategy for what they oversee and monitor and lead the overall operations of that area.
People with special skills typically have some higher level of training and experience. They also work in areas like finance, human resources, technology, marketing, and sales. However, they might also be project managers, process improvement practitioners, change managers, product managers, and the like
In today’s post COVID world, more business owners are realizing that they do not need to have these senior leaders in the same building, and they do not need them to be full time resources Hence, the interim executive role is growing quickly in business

The fractional executive is the newest concept for business owners to consider For a limited duration and considerably cheaper than a full time resource, they deliver quickly and can set up functional systems for more junior employees to work with The bottom line is that your business will hit a growth wall when it comes to personnel capability and capacity. If you have not planned accordingly the first step in scale you will end up burning yourself and others out. Plus, you will start to falter on the delivery of your company ’ s products and services Thus, considering your people's needs is an important part of scaling your business to meet and allow for its growth

John Jonas, the founder of onlinejobs ph, told me that you can find a virtual assistant to do nearly anything close sales, manage people, take care of clients, you name it not just menial, repetitive tasks He once had to be completely away from his business for months to be able to care for his wife. When he came back, he was expecting his business to be in ruins. But instead, the business had grown, as his virtual assistants stepped up to take care of everything without him.
But Gavin Lira, John Jonas, and Yawar Siddiqui have filtering processes to screen out the 1 in 10,000 candidates that are the best I've also interviewed and hired hundreds of VAs just to get one great VA experiencing the pain and hair ripping agony of firing people who didn't work out. My mistake, which is likely yours, too, is that you didn't have a tight enough screening process.
Yawar Siddiqui runs RepStack, which provides white label salespeople, account management, and digital marketing specialists to American marketing agencies He has 175 virtual assistants "virtual associates", as he calls them They work from 7 pm to 5 am in Pakistan, which corresponds to 7 am to 5 pm Pacific Standard Time. I would not have guessed that VAs living in Pakistan could run Zoom meetings with clients, have the nuanced skill to be able to navigate complex relationships, and run businesses.

Most of us don't have the time to sift through an inbox of thousands of resumes or to interview the dozens that appear promising on paper but absolutely suck in an interview Or worse, hire candidates provisionally, only to watch them go splat falling on their faces You can sidestep this pain by simply having a 5 6 question Google form you send all applicants so candidates can automatically disqualify themselves. Add a question that requires them to Google a simple fact, like finding the capital of Tajikistan.
Gavin Lira was telling me that he went through over 3,000 candidates to find a great copywriter He made listings on onlinejobs ph, UpWork, and freelancer com He spent $2,000 on Facebook ads, interviewed hundreds of applicants, and finally hired one person after two and a half months of rigorous searching. The VA he hired, Hiram, was from Mexico and was a presidential speechwriter. Absolutely stunning quality. As good as any copywriter we'd find in the United States arguably better.

For those of us who still haven't hired our first virtual assistant to run our business but also don't have the infrastructure to manage to hire this is my advice
Simply copy the funnels that Gavin, me, John, and others are using to get yourself an Operations Manager first Thus, a senior person can not only be a good worker bee for stuff you don't want to do but also be able to hire and manage everyone else that follows. Hiring is perhaps the most powerful, highest leverage use of your time. Consider how much of your time is spent doing stuff that someone who makes $500 a month full time could be doing. And more importantly, what are the things you are NOT doing (opportunity cost) because you're doing low value work?

Rehan Allahwala, who hired armies of VAs in Pakistan, recommends not making the form more complex than that, since the quality candidates you do want won't be willing to jump through that many hoops. Because Rehan is a nation builder who operates at scale, his advice to us is to send through a million people, hiring 10,000 of them. The other 990,000 who don't get a job, still get value, since they got some training in the process.

DO YOU HAVE THE “X FACTORS” TO STAND OUT AS AN EXCEPTIONAL COO
The reader can find all of these outlined in the aforementioned EY article
The common capabilities of top COOs are mastery of change management, engagement in strategic board level decisions, setting and enforcing robust operational controls, designing and implementing the organization's operational model, proficiency in identifying and extracting efficiencies, and deep industry market knowledge, and finding a multicultural management approach

The first two parts of this series provide definition highlights of the seven types of COOs from a 2006 groundbreaking article by Nathan Bennett and Stephen A Miles in the Harvard Business Review article, Second in Command: The Misunderstood Role of the Chief Operating Officer and common capabilities of effective COOs in a 2013 EY report, Aiming for the top: a guide for aspiring COOs and their organizations
As a recap, the seven, incongruent COO archetypes are the executor, the other half, the change agent, the mentor, the partner, the heir apparent, and the MVP
Having this experience is “not about having stamps in the passport” but rather taking knowledge from other cultures gained from long term experience in a number of international markets and bringing “leading practices from every corner of the world ” This builds the technical and cultural credibility needed for global chief operating officers CANDIDATE?
Nowadays, additional knowledge about supply chain and financial planning could be key areas of knowledge, too
According to the EY article, in depth interviews point to six “less tangible characteristics” that help operations leaders stand out as a top COO candidate. International experience: identifying and exploiting best practices from around the world
Interdepartmental knowledge: bringing both depth and breadth
Effective COOs will have had exposure to multiple functional areas and accumulated a “broad swath” of insights and expertise that inform day to day and strategic decision making Consider the leader who has rotated into sales, marketing, human resources, product development, manufacturing, and had exposure to strategic corporate planning
This article focuses on the six less tangible characteristics, otherwise known as “X Factors,” to stand out from other COO candidates as the leader of the future

Sociability: mastering the networks and politics
Being technically capable as the COO is one thing. Having the ability to inspire and motivate is another. In fact, this leadership skill is cited as “the most crucial attribute needed” to do the job well. The effective COO is a persuader, empowers, collaborates, builds trust, listens, and advises in ways that motivate and excite people to help realize the CEO’s vision. They have hands on experience leading teams and can align perceptions, values, and expectations that drive high levels of performance. It is noted there are very few natural leaders, yet everyone can develop this competency with observation and coaching.
Leadership skills: being an effective influencer and motivator In most cases, organizations are dynamic and require leaders to think outside of the box while continually flexing and adapting to change With a curious approach, top COOs need to be able to look into the future, see around corners and have multiple options or solutions at the ready With “learning agility,” ideal COO candidates will be those who have a track record of learning fast and thrive in constantly changing complex environments
With a range of descriptions, this X factor is the one many successful COOs give credit for helping them rise to the top. For some, it meant volunteering for tough challenges especially assignments outside their comfort zone. For others, it was standing out by humbly admitting mistakes when others would not. Top COOs recommend not staying in your operations role so long that your skills become stale.
JUNE 2022 AUTHORITTI5 0 MAGAZINE CAREER DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITTI5.0 MAGAZINE | 38
Flexibility: succeeding in an ever-changing reality
Courage: stepping up to the challenge This X factor is all about building a strong network of peers and colleagues “across the business and beyond,” reading shifts in politics and power balances, and managing “personalities and priorities” It is a challenge for a COO to be an expert in all functional areas, therefore they “need to win hearts and minds” and get “everyone behind” them This COO strikes a balance between approachability and an unusual toughness with the ability to bring disparate parties to the table The article cautions this skill is not easily learned and requires relationships with people who are willing to give important personal and professional feedback to allow growth to occur

THE FACTS: 1.8 BILLION PEOPLE USE FACEBOOK GROUPS EVERY MONTH While popular before 2020, the COVID 19 pandemic drew more people into Groups. Both as a way to connect with others during social distancing measures especially for women who more often bear the weight of caregiving responsibilities and for medical professionals to collaborate and educate others Why? Groups are a way for people to connect at a deeper level having more meaningful and engaging conversations with others who have similar interests, as opposed to looking at content Do I love Facebook? 8. What life skills are they learning from you?
1. Private group offers only. When people in your group have an opportunity to get something others don’t get they feel special
6. The fortune is in the follow up. If you’re spraying the water across too many fields (platforms or groups) you won’t go deep with the key clients, because your message will be scattered too far and wide, and you can’t tell a story and take people on a journey You also won’t have time to connect and follow up with the right leads Choose your field (group) and water it so you can grow and produce a deep crop. For example, you might go deep on one topic, in one group and get known for this expertise. This will help you to establish authority, rather than a fuzzy, unclear offer because you are in too many places at once.
5. Go to your “ROCK”. I regularly do “live” shares from my rock, overlooking a valley at the back of where I live… When I share from my rock in only my private group, my leads know when they see me there, that I will be sharing spiritual and emotional content that is new, inspiring, and deeply personal. Think about where you go ‘live’, and the associations people make in their minds when you share from a particular place, so they know what type of content will be shared when they see where you are located

Creating your compass, knowing your direction, puts a rhythm and flow into the ordinary mundane so that life becomes extraordinary and magical HERE’S HOW! First, let’s define the elements. You may have heard there are four of them, but there are five elements we work within the practice of magic. These are: Now let’s find out what each of them represents. Air refers to our thoughts. It’s the symbol of a visionary approach to a deep breath of life Fire refers to our courage. It represents our ability to take action, change and transform It symbols our ability to get heated up about things. Water refers to our emotional body. Water symbolizes something to be tended to and supported. It pertains to our ability to encourage flow and caressing smoothness. It invites cleansing and clearing of old stories debris collected over lifetimes. Earth refers to our body. A grounded approach to taking the next steps. Earth is about feeling supported and asking for support for the legacy you are here to create.

When I got asked to start writing for Authority Magazine, I decided it was just an amazing opportunity to talk about a topic I am so passionate about authentic selling. I am not going to spend a whole paragraph talking about my accomplishments in business in the last 15 years, but what I can tell you is in these 15 years that I’ve been in entrepreneurship, one thing that has never ceased to amaze me is the schizophrenic attitude most business owners have towards selling their products or services no matter how good they are (I know because I was one of them )
On one hand, we ’ re aware that we NEED to make sales if we want our businesses to survive and/or thrive, and on the other we can’t shake the “ car salesman” feeling when we are supposed to sell our products or services. This creates pressure and resistance in a lot of entrepreneurs and puts them in the position of feeling powerless to resolve this gap. We all need to sell but we don’t like selling
AUTHORITTI5 0 MAGAZINEJUNE 2022 AUTHENTIC SELLING AUTHORITTI5.0 MAGAZINE | 64
You “sell” your opinions and perspectives to your spouse about how to approach a certain issue in the house (think about buying a new sofa). You “sell” your solutions and desires to your friends when you need to pick the place for your next trip together
Society developed a deeply rooted paradigm about selling, that it is a pushy and sleazy tactic of getting another person to do something that they don’t actually want to do. Basically, in most of our heads, subconsciously, sales mean manipulation and bullying.
On the other hand people like to buy things, but they don’t like to be sold Isn’t that interesting? So, this is the thing.
And no matter how hard we try to work on our “mindset” around selling, the “sleazy car salesman” perspective keeps creeping in, sabotaging our ideas and our success.
So how do we resolve this gap? This is the thing It’s time to start to sell vibrationally differently.
Honestly, if you look at your life you are actually selling the whole day long You are creative about “selling” your idea to your kids about how to wake up earlier in the morning so they can get to school on time AND still eat their breakfast.
In these articles, I am not going to tell you that you are magically going to wake up after reading them and your “impostor syndrome” will go away it won’t. But I will do my best to help you shift your perspective and give you tools around sales you can start applying to your business, that will feel much more aligned with you. The reason you might have huge resistance towards selling is not the fact that you are selling something it’s the idea of HOW you are supposed to sell it that is not in alignment with you or your values
![](https://assets.isu.pub/document-structure/220822095615-d7e3f1c5f9b5798f9c6dc62e7ef7e4a0/v1/bf45036e8570062a1d4cf46c6dce689e.jpeg)

So, what’s the difference between “selling” to your personal environment, and selling to your business audience? One is of course in business you are exchanging something you have for money, while in your personal environment the “exchange for money ” boils down to agreement Think of the sofa example it seems more of a mutual agreement than a sell, right? We’re okay with the agreement, but what about a full blown exchange of your services or products for money?
AUTHORITTI5 0 MAGAZINEJUNE 2022 AUTHORITTI5.0 MAGAZINE | 66
The pressure is on.
One word authentic selling Now, you might ask yourself what does “authentic selling” actually mean? If we look into the Oxford dictionary, "authentic" /ɔː ˈθɛntɪk/ means: “of undisputed origin and not a copy; genuine.”
AUTHENTIC SELLING
So, how do you get out of that mess?
Honestly, society screwed us up there as well it created money as a “neutral” means of exchange and then conditioned us to connect all these emotional, personal, and subconscious elements to it That’s why selling is so hard because it includes so many emotional, mental, cultural, and generational paradigms and trauma that a lot of times we can’t see the forest from the tress
Please understand that money is an even bigger cultural paradigm than selling is, and it’s a means for a lot of things in our life. We use money, wrongfully, to determine our self worth, how much someone appreciates or loves us, how we ’ re connected, and a bunch of other things.
![](https://assets.isu.pub/document-structure/220822095615-d7e3f1c5f9b5798f9c6dc62e7ef7e4a0/v1/bf45036e8570062a1d4cf46c6dce689e.jpeg)

You are actually “selling” them that idea in an authentic way because you genuinely CARE about them
The sole reason for “selling” them the “5 minute wake up earlier” idea is because there is a genuine intention to love and protect them. You are thinking of how this idea, at the end of the day will benefit them.
I am going to leave you to ponder this perspective for a while and in my next article, I am going to focus more on what you need to do to close this gap
Close the gap remove resistance feel good help everybody win. @mirnabacun @myr.bacun
You are emotionally connected to them and with their best interest in mind. You are not disconnecting “their” interest from “ your ” interest there is NO gap between those two So, do you see where one of the gaps in “classical” sales actually is?

The gap between “selling to strangers” VS “selling to loved ones”?
And if we look at the word “sell” /sɛl/ “give or hand over (something) in exchange for money. ” So the literal translation would be: “to give something in exchange for money in a genuine way." But how would that even look or feel like?

Here's How You Take Control in the Gap
What do
You hear or read it all the time. "Take control of your life!" or "Just let go!" those mean exactly and how do you do find out
Taking Control Means
responding and reacting. Reacting is instinctual without intentional thought and comes from a primitive part of your brain only concerned with your survival Responding is a conscious choice involving input from several sources and a part of your brain that is more evolved
Research shows that nerves inside the network of your brain carry impulses between two and 20 miles per hour That is much slower than the rest of our bodies where nerves whiz impulses around at speeds of up to 240 miles per hour. Once a message reaches the brain, it moves more slowly, and then, it takes even more time for your brain to formulate a response. That time gap is where you have the power to choose and take control of your life. That is why you want to move from reacting to responding. When something happens, your body is going to react automatically and instinctually anyway usually below your conscious awareness The goal is to become aware of your initial reaction, pause, resist doing anything immediately, involve your thinking brain by considering options, possible outcomes, who you want to be, and what is going to be in your best interest, and, then, deliberately choose how to respond
You can learn to exert conscious choice in the time gap between reacting and responding by building self control through emotional intelligence, and mindfulness
Responding Rather Than Reacting
Taking control of your life is about controlling the only thing you can ever really control in this world you You are rarely in control of much of what happens around you, but you always have the option to control your actions and behavior I'm not saying that it's easy It's not But it can be done And when you get better at practicing self control, you will experience more success and happiness in your professional and personal life. Taking control of your life requires that you guide your mind and emotions so that you consciously choose your actions. It comes down to the difference between You Already Have the Power!

People with high emotional intelligence are masters at managing their emotions. They don't get unhinged in stressful situations because they have the ability to look at a problem and calmly determine a solution and map out a plan of action They're excellent decision makers, knowing when to gather more information and when to trust their intuition They're usually willing to look at themselves honestly, take criticism well, and know how to use feedback to improve their performance The good news is that emotional intelligence can be learned and developed
In terms of your physical brain, mindfulness asks that you deliberately shift control of your thoughts and actions away from the instinctual “reptilian” brain to the conscious awareness of your frontal lobe This is the difference in reaction and responding we were talking about earlier The frontal lobe is where higher level thought and decision making happen Because of neuroplasticity, Emotional Intelligence In Embrace Change through Emotional Intelligence, I write: “Emotional intelligence is the ability to identify and control your emotions while knowing the effect your behaviour has on others. It’s a mixture of awareness, which focuses on observing reactions and responses, and management, which involves making conscious decisions."

Mindfulness Mindfulness is simply a way of thinking. It’s training your brain to pay attention and focus. It’s learning to direct your attention to what's happening in your present experience, including your mind, body, and environment.

You can learn more about mindfulness in my article 6 Steps to Live More Mindfully
Letting Go
In this step, you want to actively prevent, reduce, or end whatever you can that is proving painful or harmful to you in the situation you're facing For example, you could vent your feelings to a friend, reframe self critical or catastrophizing thoughts, stop any behaviors that are contributing negatively, or reduce your stress with self-care practices. Acceptance means acknowledging the reality of the experience and quitting wishing things were different. You aren’t trying to change anything here — feelings, thoughts, or circumstances. You just want to let things be and figure out the best way for you to navigate the situation. This step is a hard one, and it may take some time. That's OK. Give yourself as much time as you need to arrive at and move through acceptance. repetitively and consistently thinking and behaving mindfully will alter your brain’s form and function and, in turn, your life

What if the boat stopped fighting the current and figured out a new way to get where it wanted to go by going with the current? That is surrendering Surrendering is not about inaction or giving up your power It's about taking action and using your power wisely from a place of acceptance
Please realize that you were never really in control of anything but yourself to begin with. Most of us spend a lot of time and energy trying to control things that we really have no influence over. It's only natural. Trying to be in control makes your brain feel good because control is rooted in fear When your brain feels more in control, it feels less fear The more your brain knows about your world, the safer it feels On the other hand, the less you know, the more anxious you feel So, the answer to letting go of the need for control is really about getting comfortable with uncertainty and facing your fears
The first step in letting go is surrendering. Now, surrendering does not mean "giving up." It means to stop fighting to try to be in control. Stop fighting with yourself. Stop fighting the circumstances. Stop resisting and pushing against reality and accept what is before you. Think of a small boat furiously paddling upstream but making little progress
The Next Step Let It Go
The First Step Surrendering and Acceptance

In order to let go, you have to actively guide your attention and brain away from any negative and anxiety producing thought loops and support and encourage yourself with your self talk instead Challenge your negative, anxious thoughts Try to zoom out and see a bigger picture Reassure and calm yourself with affirmations like: Conclusion Taking control of your life and letting go of control really require the same skill They both require that you develop your awareness and emotional intelligence and act consciously in your own best interest no matter the circumstances or which one you are doing So, letting go when it is a conscious decision is really taking control

'Our Shared Shelf''Women Who Run With The Wolves is a gift of profound insight, wisdom and love. An oracle from one who knows' Alice WalkerIn the classic Women Who Run With The Wolves, Clarissa Pinkola Estes tells us about the 'wild woman', the wise and ageless presence in the female psyche that gives women their creativity, energy, and power For centuries, the 'wild woman' has been repressed by a male orientated value system that trivializes women's emotions. Using a combination of time honored stories and contemporary casework, Estes reveals that the 'wild woman' in us is innately healthy, passionate, and wise. Thoughtfully written and compelling in its arguments, Women Who Run With The Wolves gives readers a new sense of direction, self-confidence and purpose in their lives.
