how do I complete the transformation process of self-actualization?

I think those are the basics for a solid foundation. It sounds like you’re off to a good start already.

Q : As a man, deeply immersed in the process of my own self-actualization, what can we as men do, to complete the transformation process you describe in your work?

how can I get comfortable with a new found attraction to the same sex?

A : I’m so glad you asked this question. One of the continuing disappointments that crops up during the course of my work as a seduction coach is how many thinkpieces I see for women on how to attract and keep a man, and how many men I see who respond to sexual rejection by retreating into the cold comfort of the misogynist communities of the internet. Rather than accept rejection as feedback and try to improve themselves as potential partners, too many guys decide that the best course of action is to allow their sense of entitlement toward women to turn them into a danger to them.

Q : I’m a guy and I’ve noticed that... well, I’m noticing guys. For example, there’s this dude in the office, and I think I might be attracted to him. My heart beats faster when he walks by and my knees get kind of weak when he taps me on the shoulder and asks me questions. Sometimes I’m kind of rude to him, because on the inside I’m like, “Oh no, no way do I like guys,” and I want to get away and have the interaction be over. What would you recommend for getting comfortable with same sex thoughts (and therefore nicer)? Hiring a therapist?

I’m a longstanding member of the pickup artist community, which has at times made me a controversial figure. But that doesn’t mean that I don’t see the toxicity that happens within it. In my experience, a man who enters the path of the PUA travels one of two roads: either he walks away from intimacy, choosing to hide his need for connection beneath a bravado that concerns itself only with how many bitches he can fuck for his own validation, or he walks towards intimacy, choosing to do the deep inner work that allows him to connect authentically with other people, in whatever relationship parameters work for all involved.

A: I think therapy (or coaching, or healer work) is a good idea for everyone, as long as you find someone you enjoy working with. Specifically, I’d recommend a sex-positive coach who is familiar with queer culture and gender fluidity. Fantasies don’t ever have to become realities if you don’t want them to, and maybe you’re more comfortable accepting your crush as a sign of the kind of man you want to be rather than the kind of person you want to fuck. But then again, I’m a big fan of seeing where my curiosity leads. That doesn’t mean you have to be, but remember that your own personal identity doesn’t hinge on who you’re attracted to. A crush on someone unexpected can threaten your sense of identity if it feels like it contradicts the beliefs you have about yourself, but it doesn’t have to. At the end of the day, you’re still you.

In my opinion, here are some of the most important things to cultivate in order to become a confident man who is ready to consciously partner with someone: to comfortably support yourself in work that you feel happy/purposeful about, to live in integrity and keep your word, to be secure enough in your value in the world that you don’t become threatened and self-sabotage when you meet a woman of value, to understand where your emotional reactions come from (often achieved through therapy or deep inner game work, which by the way are usually kind of the same thing), to take care of yourself (emotionally, physically, financially), and to take care of the people close to you that you care about. Written above the temple of Delphi are the words Nosce te ipsum, know yourself. Know yourself so that when you let someone into your heart, you can let them into a place that’s not a total mess. AUXILIARY october/november 2015

If it helps, most women I know personally find it super sexy when a guy is able to confess a bit of fluidity in his sexual preferences, whether that means gender, kink, dominance/submission, etc. The kind of women you want, I suspect, are women who are sexually confident, flexible, curious, and open to experimentation, and their game recognize game so possessing those same qualities yourself is going to be a good thing, whether you decide to act on your fantasies or just be comfortable with the fact that you had some feelings you didn’t necessarily expect. With crushes, sometimes it’s exciting to be surprised. 16
