SCHOOL INFORMATION

1. Prohibited items brought to school may be confiscated.

2. Pupils are not allowed to bring these items to school:

• Gold jewellery and expensive personal items such as watches, tablets, electronic games or gadgets, CD players.

• Sharp instruments or metal sharp-edged objects such as pen-knives & long scissors and sharphandled combs.

Prohibited Items Uniform

N.B. Handphones brought to school are at own risk. Pupils are not allowed to use handphones within the school premises.

SCHOOL ATTIRE BOYS / GIRLS

• White studded short sleeved shirt with one front breast pocket

The school canteen has two stalls selling food & drinks to all pupils.

Meet The Parents Sessions

At least twice a year, the principal will share school’s direction, expectations & policies. The teachers will also make an appointment with you to discuss your child’s educational plan and progress. We strongly encourage all parents to attend.

CANTEEN PARENT SUPPORT GROUP (PSG)

Parental Involvement

As the sucess of a child involves partnership between the home and the school, we encourage all parents / guardians to actively participate in our school events such as Family Connect, Sports Day & Festival Celebrations.

PE ATTIRE & HOUSE T-SHIRT

• Dark blue shorts (Boys)

• Dark blue skirt (Girls)

• White shoes and plain white socks

The school has a PSG that meets at least once a term, and/or when necessary.

We encourage parents to join the PSG and be a parent volunteer. If you would like to be in the PSG or serve as a parent volunteer, please approach your child’s class teacher.

SCHOOL HEALTH / DENTAL VISITS

Dental Service will be provided for all pupils at the dental clinic at Presbyterian High School at least once a year. Parents / guardians will be notified of the above visit and consent forms issued out where applicable.

Early Dismissal

Pupils are not allowed to leave the school premises during school hour without first seeking the permission of the Principal or Vice-Principal.

Particulars of parents or family members will be recorded in the school record book should permission be granted. Parents are to arrange for all personal therapy and tuition sessions for their child before / after school hours.

Hair should always be kept neat and presentable at all times. The fringe (if any) should not touch the eyebrows.

School House System Hairstyles

Boys

Hair should be short and neatly combed and not touch the ears, eyebrows or collar.

Boys should have short sideburns.

Girls

Hair should be short and neat. It should not touch the eyebrows.

If the hair length touches the shoulders, the hair should be plaited or tied with black or dark blue ribbons / hairband. No other colours are allowed. Long fringe must be pinned up. Dark blue or black hair clips are to be used.

HOUSE VALUE RESPECT / RED

Ladybugs eat up harmful insects that harm crops like rice, corn and many other but they leave the plants alone, respecting the farmers’ hard work. We can learn to be respectful like the ladybug.

Butterflies are vibrant, adaptable and committed to growing from an egg, caterpillar, chrysalis into a beautiful winged insect. The commitment to transform into something beautiful and one that brings joy is something we can learn from the butterfly.

HOUSE VALUE INTEGRITY / GREEN

Dragonflies are well-known to be an insect that is adaptable to change and full of integrity. Their flight across water represents an act of going beyond the surface and looking into more great connections and aspects of life.

HOUSE VALUE RESILIENCE / YELLOW

Bees fly long distances to bring nectar from flowers back to their hives, and they do it again and again without complaining thereby showing resilience. We can learn to be resilient like the Bumblebee.
