LUNGA STORIA FATTA DI MOBILI ...
Questa fantastica storia ci porta lontano: si era appena fatta l’unità d’Italia, si parlava il Volgare, si scriveva in latino e gli artigiani realizzavano innumerevoli prodotti. Ogni prodotto era una creazione ed ogni bottega un laboratorio dove affinare tecniche ed istruire nuovo personale. É in una di queste botteghe che è iniziata la nostra fantastica storia e quella della nostra famiglia, fortemente legate fra loro. Francesco Avenanti, maestro artigiano, iniziò producendo mobili e non sappiamo se fu suo padre o qualche altro maestro ad insegnargli questa arte, sappiamo però che era il lontano 1870. La bottega veniva illuminata da una fioca candela e si sfruttava soprattutto la luce del giorno per lavorare. Venivano prodotti mobili d’uso quotidiano, ma anche qualche bell’oggetto che andava ad arredare le case dei signorotti del luogo, le curie e a volte anche le chiese. Le tecniche di lavorazione erano già molto affinate e la cura dei particolari dimostrava ottima preparazione. Fu suo figlio Pompeo, personaggio simpatico e creativo, a continuare il lavoro del padre. Le lavorazioni venivano realizzate con le stesse tecniche, sempre con molta attenzione nell’esecuzione e con eccezionale maestria. Fu così anche per i figli di Pompeo, Francesco ed Emilio. Nella bottega arrivò l’energia elettrica mentre Francesco stava insegnando il lavoro ai suoi giovani figli Eolo e Giacomo. Questi importante evento stimolò i due fratelli a creare qualcosa di nuovo ed in poco tempo inventarono una macchina. La realizzarono in legno, abbinato al metallo degli utensili, ed anche se oggi può sembrare insolito, fu proprio una macchina costruita in legno ad introdurre la tecnologia nella bottega Avenanti: la macchina era in effetti così ben studiata che da sola riusciva a realizzare 5 lavorazioni. Negli ultimi 40 anni le cose sono cambiate velocemente dal punto di vista tecnologico, ma la filosofia Avenanti è sempre rimasta la stessa: produrre mobili fatti in legno, nel rispetto della tradizione artigiana e di quella cultura ebanista che in questi 150 anni di stori hanno caratterizzato il lavoro della nostra famiglia. This is a fantastic story, which we can start with once upon a time… Italy had been just unified and people speak Vulgar and write in Latin and artisans made lots of products. Each product was a creation and each workshop was a laboratory where the techniques were improved and new workers were taught. Our fantastic story began just in one of these workshops, the story of our very bound together family. Francesco Avenanti, a master-artisan, started producing furniture and we are not sure if he was been taught by his father or by somebody else. The one thing certain is that it was 1870. A faint candle lighted the workshop. They usually work during the daylight, producing furniture for everyday use as well as some special piece to furnish the house of certain wealthy men of the place or the curia and sometimes the churches. The processing techniques were already well refined and the attention to details showed a great skill. The son Pompeo, a nice and skilful person, continued his father’s job. Workings were made always with the same techniques and with great attention and mastery in the execution. The same made Pompeo’ sons, Francesco and Emilio. It was the period when the electric power was discovered, when Francesco was teaching his young sons Eolo and Giacomo. This important event took the two brothers to create something new, so they fabricate a machine to help them in their work. They made a wooden carcase combined with metal tools and we can hardly believe, that it was just this simple machinery which brought new technologies within Avenanti’s workshop. It was so well thought-out that it could alone carry out 5 different processes. During last 40 years things have been changing very fast, as far as technologies are concerned. Nevertheless the philosophy of Avenanti family remains the same: producing wooden furniture, following the artisan tradition and the craftwork culture, which have been distinguishing the work of our family during its last 150 years of story. I mobili Avenanti nascono da una vecchia tradizione che risale al 1870. Costruire un mobile per noi significa andare alla ricerca di un’armoniosa forma stilistica e di materiali altamente qualitativi, così da garantire un prodotto “autentico” e valorizzabile nel tempo. I mobili della collezione “Ottocento” sono realizzati esclusivamente in legno ed in particolare, per tutte le parti esterne, in ciliegio, lasciando spazio, in quelle interne, ad altre essenza quali il rovere, l’abete ed il pioppo, che meglio si addicono alla lavorazione, rispecchiando l’originalità del prodotto. Il lavoro per la realizzazione dei nostri articoli è ancora in gran parte manuale, anche la tinteggiatura e la verniciatura sono realizzate esclusivamente con metodi tradizionali e manualmente. Ogni prodotto inoltre è accompagnato da una scheda tecnica relativa alle sue caratteristiche costruttive ed ai materiali impiegati, dove si garantisce che il mobile è realizzato solo in legno. I mobili sono marchiati a fuoco, a garanzia dell’originalità e quale segno di distinzione. Questi importanti particolari faranno sicuramente acquisire valore ai nostri prodotti, i quali hanno

tutte le caratteristiche per diventare in breve tempo pregiati pezzi d’antiquariato. Siamo fieri di poter affermare che i nostri mobili sono frutto dell’amore per questo lavoro e della cultura d’ebanisti, nobilissima arte che ci siamo tramandati attraverso sei generazioni, di padre in figlio dal 1870 ad oggi.

Avenanti furniture comes from an old tradition, which dates back to 1870. Producing a piece of furniture means looking for a style that harmoniously combines with high-quality materials, in order to guarantee a “genuine” product which increases is value as time goes by. Furniture from the collection Ottocento are made of wood, that is cherry wood for the outside and oak, poplar and pinewood for the inside, as they better lend themselves to the working, creating an original product. The workmanship of our furniture is still largely manual, as well as the process of painting and lacquering. Each piece of furniture is given of a technical card telling its characteristics and the materials used, in order to guarantee that it is made of pure wood only. The furniture is branded as a guarantee of their originality and as a distinguishing mark. These important details of course will give value to our product, which are destined to be esteemed antiques soon. We are proud to tell that our furniture is the fruit of our love for this work, for the craftwork culture, a very noble art handed down from father to son for 6 generation since 1870. I mobili vengono montati con incollaggio ed innesto di ciondoli in legno. Le ante vengono montate con incollaggio della cornice sagomata ed innesto di ciondoli in legno. I cassetti vengono montati con incollaggio ed innesto a coda di rondine. tutti i mobili vengono numerati con numeri romani; i cassetti e le ante vengono adattate una ad una, numerate con il relativo numero del mobile in ordine progressivo da sinistra verso destra e dall’alto verso il basso.
CARATTERISTICHE TECNICHE
The furniture is assembled by gluing and grafting wooden pins. Doors are assembled by gluing the shaped frame and grafting wooden pins. Drawers are assembled by gluing a dovetail joint. A Roman notation numbers every piece. Drawers and doors are adapted one by one. They are progressively numbered from left to right and up and down with the same number of the unit.

The model with the inlay has doors ad drawers’ fronts in solid wood, cherry veneered both inside and outside. • Tops are made of solid wooden edged cherry multi-ply, cherry veneered. • Backs are made of wooden multi-ply. • Sides and bottom panels, as well as the upper part and the shelves are made of a wooden battenboard, outside cherry and inside Tanganyca walnut veneered. • Sides and slide runners of drawers are made of oak, chestnut, poplar and pinewood. • Bottom of drawers and shelves are made of solid poplar and pinewood • Finishing colours and paints are no-catalysed mono-components. • Float glass 4 mm • Brass hardware and fusion of patinated zama alloy.

1. Non appoggiare pentole calde sui piani. 2. Non far cadere solventi sulle superfici. 3. Pulire i mobili esclusivamente con panni di cotone o di lana, non utilizzando solventi. 4. Quando necessario, dopo la pulizia si può applicare la cera d’api naturale al fine di ravvivare e nutrire il legno.
This collection’s furniture is made of solid wood only. That means each piece of furniture is alive like the material it is made of. It could undergo slight changes as time goes by, adapting itself to the environment, where it is used. Only when it is exposed to very particular environments factors as well as climatic conditions, it could undergo considerable changes. To preserve a good condition of the furniture we suggest the following: 1. do not lay hot pots on the top 2. do not spill solvents on the surfaces 3. clean the furniture using a cotton or wool cloth only, do not use any solvent 4. If needed, after cleaning, you can apply natural beeswax to brighten and nourish the wood.

I mobili vengono montati con incollaggio ed innesto di ciondoli in legno. Le ante vengono montate con incollaggio della cornice sagomata ed innesto di ciondoli in legno. I cassetti vengono montati con incollaggio ed innesto a coda di rondine. tutti i mobili vengono numerati con numeri romani; i cassetti e le ante vengono adattate una ad una, numerate con il relativo numero del mobile in ordine progressivo da sinistra verso destra e dall’alto verso il basso.
CARATTERISTICHE TECNICHE
The furniture is assembled by gluing and grafting wooden pins. Doors are assembled by gluing the shaped frame and grafting wooden pins. Drawers are assembled by gluing a dovetail joint. A Roman notation numbers every piece. Drawers and doors are adapted one by one. They are progressively numbered from left to right and up and down with the same number of the unit.
