The element of water has always attracted attention of the humanity. Long before humans started exploring the secrets of the Universe, the study of the ocean depths had begun. Numerous bathyscaphes, autonomous underwater vehicles and underwater surveillance cameras have been developed and constructed. Nowadays, the humanity focuses on the stars more and more, and one may get an impression that we currently know much more about the space than about the ocean. Many oceanologists-filmmakers, including the famous directors Jacques-Yves Cousteau, Yann Arthus-Bertrand, Jacques Perrin, Jacques Cluzaud and others, tried to explore it thoroughly and get across to us the beauty and the grandeur of the underwater world. However, the ocean still remains a mystery.
