are traditionally Fine Artists, and Digital Designers combined. Since the beginning in 1996 we have been unbounded across mediums in the production of solutions. Past solutions have included the combination of performance, projection, and audience participation. Or even canvas based imagery digitised to become part of an animated solution online.

Currently with the evolution from AVMC Studios into AVMC Group our boundaries are even more open to the opportunities of combining even more diverse media.

Day by day our 'eyes' see more. We add to our dimensional existence through our experience of events across time. What we add is what we believe we want. We make emotional and physical attachments through association and in the pursuit of beautiful things. AVMC Group 'extrapolate' the

investigation of this pursuit. Our investigative mediums are unbounded and crossing over digital media categorisations as well as traditional art classification. The content of our solutions, as they evolve, are quite often 'Open-Ended'. Our tools include, (but not limited to), a combination of 'Projection Mapping' 'Social Media', 'Web Technologies' explored through a methodology of 'Interactive Art'.

AVMC Group use 'Think-Tank' solutions on a regular basis. The anthropology observed throughout our creative endeavours lend themselves to the expressive culmination of art, performance and technology concepts. These concepts are quite often open-ended.

Concept 01 –

'Dance across Borders'

combining technology with performance. A combination of real and projected dancers on stage performing together. The projections are beamed live from Greece to the London based stage.

Concept 02 – 'Ring & Dance' combining

technology, performance and audience participation. Dancers on stage surrounded by phones, responding choreographically to the rings. The phones are rung by members of the audience. The rate of calls and the position of the handsets will direct the evolution of movement. A translation of choreography annotation, eg Labanatation, into interpretative dance forming an example 'Audience Participatory Performance'

Concept 03 –

11

'Trend & Show'

combining technology and installation. A data base of trending words searched for on the web (or within a dedicated website eg, Arts Admin Forum) will be accessed and cross searched against Google Images, the qualifying images will appear as a series of animated stills projected on a large canvas. The images will only appear when a person walks towards or near it displayed in a foyer/reception area.

Maurice Benayoun is a Parisian interactive artist

who was very interested in virtual reality art in the '90s. One of his pieces was even described as "the first Metaphysical Video Game.” His most famous piece

was The Tunnel under the Atlantic, which allowed patrons to dig a virtual tunnel between Pompidou Centre in Paris and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Montreal.

Thomas Charvériat is another Parisian interactive artist, but he specializes in using LED, video, SMS, light sensors, and sound to interact with the spectator, putting together everyday objects to produce

interactive works.

Nathaniel Stern utilizes performance and video to develop his interactive art pieces. He also often asks his

viewers to participate in his pieces by contributing their body movements. For example, his installation,

enter:hektor had participants chasing projected words with their arms and bodies in order to trigger spoken word in the space.

A famous example of participatory art is the Theatre of the Oppressed. Created by Augusto Boal in Brazil in the '60s and then further expanded into Europe, the Theatre of the

Oppressed allows the audience to become active, in

turn transforming into "spectators" by exploring, analysing, and altering their reality. The audience becomes both the spectator and the creator by participating in these pieces, thus bridging the gap between the audience and the artist.

In 1957 Allan Kaprow coined the phrase “happenings” to describe an event or art gathering with a select group of people that would get together to create art or performances. These

“happenings” are often difficult to describe as each event would be completely different from one another. A

“happenings”of the same performance would have a

different outcome every time because each event depends on the

participation of the audience. These “happenings”were intended to break down the fourth wall between performer and spectator and create a sense of support instead of criticism. They also emphasized the organic connection to art and its environment, and were highly unpredictable as they had no set agenda or philosophy.

Lynn Hershman Leeson is an American artist and film maker. One of her most famous works of art is called LORNA, which is the first interactive laser artdisk

that tells the story of an agoraphobic woman that never leaves her room. Viewers had the option of directing her life into several possible plots and endings and could access information about her past through clicking on objects within the room.
