Event Fact Sheet Event Summary
America’s premier, admission-free all-helicopter aviation event returns to the Austin area. Developed in 1993, the American Heroes Air Show profiles helicopters’ crucial role in law enforcement, public safety, communications, Search & Rescue as well as homeland security and national defense with static displays and exciting demonstrations for communities from coast to coast. Rally up at Napalm Motorsports on Thursday, April 19 to welcome the AVTT Cost of Freedom Tribute into Austin and be part of the motorcycle escort onto the grounds of historic Camp Mabry. Join the Austin community to HONOR – RESPECT – REMEMBER the service and sacrifice of U.S military with the American Veteran’s Traveling Tribute and their imposing scale replica of the Vietnam Memorial Wall. On Saturday AVTT teams up with U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services for a special Naturalization Ceremony as members of U.S. military and others become America’s newest citizens! Additional event elements include recruiting teams that deliver information to the community on careers in law enforcement, public service and the military. Vendors and public agencies deliver resources, information and products / services to help families and the community prepare for, react to and recover from a variety of natural disasters and homeland emergencies.
