We are here to infuse the city with Art, Fashion, Culture and help curate artists in all forms while inspiring others to do the same. We strongly believe in the arts and know that when the time is right Orlando will implode with a saturation of cultural movements! This issue is the infusion of all these artistic implosions that will mold together simultaneously, We are on the verge of huge positive changes. “La Infusion means The infusion. We infuse ourselves into so many things on a normal bases that we become num. If you stop to look around you will see the infusion in our culture and notice the positive changes. This issue we explore the latin infusion within our editorials and give you our interpretations....ENJOY the issue!

Letter from the FASHION EDITOR, Escape; clearly the first word that comes to mind for summer. Escaping the city, escaping the mundane day to day, escaping responsibility, escaping to someplace fabulous… all the dreams of summer start with escape. But how do we “escape” to someplace fabulous when we are already in the vacation capital of the WORLD? Well, when it comes to fashion I thought why not look around us… Orlando is such a magical melting pot of culture and fashion and people from all over the world; it just became so obvious. Escape by looking around. Constantly flooded with tourists, we can rarely go to the mall without seeing a bus load of Brazilians, or a European soccer team, or huge families of Mexicans, Peruvians, or Ecuadorians all wearing matching tee shirts. La Infusion! Walking around the Premium Outlet Mall is basically like an escape to South America. And I love it! There is a constant flow of ideas, and cultures, and fashions through the City Beautiful that makes me want to rejoice. Who needs summer vacation when it comes to you 365 days a year? So many people bring so many different ideas to our home and we can drink in all of it and incorporate it into our unique Orlando scene. Immediately I knew that I wanted to pay some kind of homage to all the cultures that help define our city… and what better way than going on a Latin tour (in a modern way, of course)? There is a fabulous sexy confidence in the way the Latin community dresses, less fabric is usually more and, more is always more… more color, more print, more jewelry, just more. I didn’t realize just how defining this issue would be until I started looking so closely at different cultures for inspiration, but to me this issue is Orlando. Everything is sexy, yet wearable. Fashion forward, yet indie. Nothing is forced and everything has an ease about it that makes dressing fun. And that’s what we as Orlandians are all about! Your work takes us all by surprise. You are a well-rounded man dabbling in modeling, acting, journalism and even styling. How did this begin? At a very young age I knew that I was meant to be in front of a camera. I remember growing up I was always told that I was an over exaggerator and that I always took everything to another level. Acting has always been a passion of mine but at the same time I always liked to dress nice since a very young age not worrying about what people would think of my style. Throughout the years my fashion evolution took many turns. Some for the good and others for the bad. I can say that I have adapted many different styles in my life from the Cowboy look to the Biker "Greaser" or as I called it my "James Dean" look to the Nerd look. When it comes to styling is there a specific look you go for when dressing your clients? I go to what’s true to my style and that’s "Originality" In our Latin Community there seems to be many Latino Designers whom adapt and or replicate many Couture Houses. For me that is a big NO! I have made sure to never allow myself to do that, there for I would say that look I always adapt is and has to be "Original"
How do trends affect your decision making? OR do you just go with what looks good? Absolutely not! As much as I love many designs and designers I know that there will be some things that will work for my clients and others that will not. I am never afraid to push my clients to another level but always making sure that they feel comfortable and 100% confident in what I dress them in. Trends always play a big part in my role as a Stylist and there is never a day that I do not keep up to what’s next and then adapt my own twist to make it and maybe take it to that next level.

Has there ever been a time where you have questioned your taste? Never, I do not believe in "doubt". I know I have made some bad choices in my career but I am never regretful of such choices as those bad ones have made me stronger and a better and more knowledgeable person today. Do you feel style is something someone can learn OR you either get it or you don't? It’s funny you ask, because I never went to school for Fashion. Thank God that I have had the opportunities that I have had in my life and career because to me those have been the biggest lesson in life. When people ask me how many years it took me to study fashion and fish my degree I cannot help but to smile because that always reminds me that I must be doing a heck of a job to be asked that question. I simply answer "I haven’t finished, as everyday day and every opportunity is a new lesson and chapter in career" You seem to have accomplished quite a bit. Is there something that you are still wanting to achieve?
awaken MAGAZINE Summer 2013
I have been very blessed and thankful to God for that. Having worked with major celebrities, TV shows and international magazines has definitely grounded me in a way that I would have never imagined. Therefore if there was something anticipate to achieve, I would eventually love to have my own TV Show, one where I can reach millions of people and be able to share my
experiences with the world. I think it’s important for someone whom has been given such opportunities to be able to share them back. Where do you see yourself going this year? What is next for you? This is a difficult question to answer because I never like to plan my future. I do set goals in my life but I really let those goals be guided by God. I am a firm believer that if it’s meant to be it’s meant to be. I love what I do and have a passion
for it but at the same time I am not desperate to do this. There is a lot in my life I would love to but I have to take things one day at a time. Where can we find your work? My website is still under construction, but for all of my latest work people can subscribe to my facebook page: www.Facebook.com/ Mr.C.Ramirez or Twitter @CDRamirez and Instagram @Christian_RamirezTV.

So many people don't know what they will pursue as a career, why become a fashion designer? - Because it’s the only thing that makes me truly happy. I learned that if after a long day of work and study one manages to get home, sit down in front of a sewing machine and forget about the tiredness and the hunger and keep going till late in the night sewing.. there is no doubt you were born to do that. Who do you design for? - I design for the woman who likes to be different and it is not afraid of doing it. That woman that walks down the street and likes people admiring her. For that person that is not afraid of standing out. What sets you apart from other designers? - DRAMA (laugh).... like to make an statement. They say that clothing does not makes the person... in my case it does. I am a designer that with every piece i create is empowering and feminine.
What inspires you when formulating a collection? -Everything around me but mostly history. There is not limits to get inspired, that is why i always keep with me a sketching book, because you never know when inspiration strike.
The fashion industry is a very tough industry to break into, what part of the industry attracts you the most? - Couture, definitely Couture. It is a dream come true, a fairy tale that walks the runway. I know it is tough and demanding but as well worth it and with the right attitude and disposition.... everything is possible. Do you feel society is programmed to dress a certain way? Why or why not? -Never. I am who i am take me or leave me. Every person is entitle to dress as they please and personally i dress to be happy. When i walk out of my door i have to be dress in the way i like or i don't function properly. That is what
Fashion it is all about, expressing yourself, It's is personal. Do you have another passion that you want to pursue? - I been told i have a good voice so i guess Singing,(laugh) it is for me kind of a hobby and i feel good when i do it. But i don't know if i would be good enough to do it professionally... i am sticking to my sewing machine and sketches for now..... Most of us have a phrase or quote that we live by. Do you have one? If so what is it? -Well i have many but my favorite without any doubt it that...... No one will ever be able to give you what you can not give yourself. What can we expect from you as a designer in the future? - Beautiful things. I want to leave a legacy behind for those who as well as me has struggle and fight they way up.

EDITOR’S PICK:
Maxine’s on Shine is a charming, quaint neighborhood restaurant serving expertly prepared dishes made with fresh ingredients and creative presentations. In addition to that the building was built circa 1947 in the heart of the Historic Colonialtown Neighborhood on the east side of Downtown Orlando. What sets this cozy place apart are the passionate and involved owners, Kirt and Maxine and the live music, nightly. Their friendly and smiling faces are always ready to greet you with a big hug and “What can I get you to drink?” The saying “never met a stranger” definitely applies to this couple. Occasionally you can catch Maxine sharing the stage with the band of the night belting out her favorite song! Known for their wine, Maxine’s offers 30+ different types of wine by the glass and 40+ beer selections with a house selection of cocktails, as they are not a full liquor bar. Whether on a first date or bringing your corporate partners to dinner, the staff is on point and friendly. Menu items are reasonably priced with entrees ranging from $14 - $23. It’s vegan and kid friendly and private parties are welcome.
