Park Life Since re-opening in April we have been busier than ever before and I hope that you have been able to visit your holiday home and enjoy your stays.

2021 has been a challenging year, from the easing of government restrictions to double jabs and the ‘pingdemic’, we hope that we have been able to maintain continuity throughout. The whole team at Sandy Balls would like to thank you for your understanding to any changes around these obstacles this season.

This year we have the most Holiday Home Owners we have ever had, totalling over 150 holiday homes with only 1 or 2 pitches unallocated! I know many of you sublet your holiday homes through us and more of you have joined our subletting scheme this year too earning some good income returns. Thank you for supporting the scheme and signing up. We recently have sent out our ‘2022 Guide to Subletting’ so please take a look and send in your sublet dates soon. In 2022 we are excited for the £350k investment into our Village Store refurbishment including a Deli and Coffee area. This will take a few weeks, so we’ll have to “shut up shop” for a little while (dates to be announced soon), so please come a little more stocked up when you visit during this time.

What’s happening at

Aubrey’s will close on the 10th January for 10 days to get a mini facelift & refresh, The Woodside will be open throughout this time though, and by mid to late January we will be back to normal with everything open again. We also have considerable investment again in areas like machinery, tree management, operating systems and in our Team. We’ve just bought a mini road sweeper, keeping the park tidy of leaves is a mammoth task here and this should help us to manage the park appearance even better during the Autumn and Winter months. To make sure all that all this happens effectively we have just employed a new Grounds Manager Jon Scarlett Phillips. Sadly, Abi Ball our Owner Experience Manger is leaving us to pursue a role with P&O Cruises, we thank Abi for her time with us and wish her every success in her future. We have been busy recruiting for Abi’s replacement and we should have our new Owner Experience Manager recruited by the time this newsletter lands. We will of course welcome and introduce them very soon, so please keep an eye out for news on third place social and in the next newsletter. We will be open throughout Christmas and New Year and we are very much looking forward to our Christmas and New Year parties, plus our wonderful Forest of Light experience that I hope you get to come and see. We have a much more extensive Owner Events calendar planned for 2022 too, (to be revealed soon), and we hope that you can attend some of these along the way next year! We are working hard behind the scenes to bring you a fantastic, more extensive Owner Events 2022 calendar too, so watch this space! We truly want to make 2022 our best year for our Owners yet. Please note, all events are of course subject to change, and some are weather permitting, but we will always do our best to deliver!

Meet our Owner Experience Support Manager; Jackie Let me introduce myself, I joined Away Resorts in March as Owner Experience Support Manager working within the Central Operations Team. With over 30 years’ experience within the industry, mostly as a General Manager on large owner parks I have a passion for delivering the best possible ownership experience for our Owners. I support all aspects of our Owner Experience across all parks following the handing over of your holiday home. Firstly, thank you for feeding back your thoughts through various channels this year and to those of you that have completed the surveys. These have been very insightful and guided me and the teams on the parks on what we need to do to improve the owner experience that we currently provide. As we move towards 2022, we are currently looking at how we continue to improve your owner experience.

Our last printed newsletter We are embracing our important journey to offset our carbon footprint and we are now going digital wherever we can. Our future newsletters will be available online on your owners account and we will send them to you via email too. Working towards a greener more ecological future we are partnering with Tomorrow’s Forests, for every holiday home we sell, we are planting a tree to help fight climate change and to do our bit to protect our planet. We are also supporting Surfers Against Sewage through dedicated fundraising and events, to ensure we can keep our beaches and beautiful British coastlines safe for everyone to enjoy. As well as this, we support local businesses and local heroes all badged under ‘Hug a Hero’.

We were a bit nervous about subletting at first as, of course, we wanted to keep our lovely new lodge looking and feeling as good as new for as long as we could! However our experience has been very positive, the Lodge is returned to us in excellent condition and so far we have only lost 1 champagne glass so obviously someone was loving our lodge as much as we do! If you need a new form or any further information, just pop in or email/call Owner Services who will be happy to help. We need to ensure we stay up to date with your contact details so we can stay connected! Sometimes there could be important messages we need to get to you quickly, so please take a minute to pop in, or call us to check we have your details correct. You might have changed your mobile phone number, address or email address etc since we last updated our records for you.
