Hello and a warm welcome from myself to our Autumn and Winter newsletter which is packed full of important information for all of our holiday home owners, including park updates, events, and competitions. We’ve been busy these last few months ensuring you are able to enjoy your holiday home here at Sandy Balls safely, and I hope that you have managed to make the most of the season so far. As always, the safety of our owners, guests and team is our number one priority, with this in mind please remember we are operating no mask, no entry to all our venues, which we hope you will agree is the safest option during the current time. You will have also noticed the hand sanitising stations dotted about,

please ensure you are using these whenever passing. I am sure you have seen in the press, that the demand for UK Staycations has soared since the end of lock down and 2021 looks to be stronger than ever. If you do take advantage of our hasslefree sublet scheme, keep an eye out for the 2021 letting guides due to be sent out to you over the coming weeks. The sooner you get this back to us, the more likely we are to let your holiday home. So, what’s new? We’d like to welcome our new team member Mary Osaer, Mary is joining us as Sales Admin & Owners Services Manager and will be your point of contact to assist you with all your needs in Holiday Home Sales Administration and Aftersales requirements.

Outdoor Cinema

we are bringing the fun indoors! Before we’re back inside please remember to bring your own cosy blankets.

Our Outdoor Cinema is proving a big success. Look out for more great movie family favourites coming up with The Greatest Showman, Monsters Inc, Shrek and Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse to name just a few!

Maintenance Team

No job is too small…sounds like an advert, however it’s true! If you would like us to quote on any maintenance issues or one of those ‘I’ll do that job later’ scenarios, we’ll be only too pleased to help. Pop into Guest Services to find out more.

Health & Safety

Any owner that requires contractors to visit them on park will need to have them authorised by Adrian Evans. Please call Guest Services to obtain the necessary paperwork and to find out more.

Housekeeping Team We offer holiday home spring cleans, external washes and decking washes to all of our owners! Just pop into the office to book your spot. Keep an eye out for your Winterisation forms which will be with you over the next few weeks.

Doggies For your dogs, yours and everyone else on parks safety, we do kindly ask you to keep your dogs on leads at all times apart from using the dog exercise area. If your dog poops, please pick it up and help keep the park tidy and clean!

Private Sublets

If you are subletting your holiday home can you please ensure that your electric and gas certificates are up to date, and that our office has an up to date copy so that your guests are able to purchase passes during their stay with us.

Guest Passes they will be asked for the accommodation address and our Holiday Heroes will check the size of the accommodation on our system and charge the correct price according to the number of bedrooms and duration of stay.

Unfortunately we will be unable to issue any passes to guests if the certificates are out of date. Gas certificates are required every year and electric certificates every three years. If your guests are wishing to purchase

To avoid disappointment and to make sure your guests have an enjoyable stay from start to finish we do advise that you inform your guests of the correct guest passes price before arrival, and just let them know that they’ll need these passes to gain access into our venues and facilities, thank you.

When you feel like your gas is running out you can now simply order via the Away Resorts app, or just pop over to Guest Services and one of the lovely team there will be able to help you purchase another one for your holiday home. Gentle Reminder You’re able to have 6/8 passes per holiday home for you and your family to enjoy the facilities that we have to offer here on park. Forms are now available to collect from the Holiday Home Sales Office, so pop in when you’re next on park and get your details filled in!

Coming Soon! Food table service Soon you’ll be able to order your food and drinks through your phone. Simply fire up the Away Resorts app and select ‘Food Ordering’. Choose the restaurant you are dining, enter your table number and start adding items to your basket. Once you’ve got everything you fancy, proceed to check out and enter payment details. Sit back, relax and let us bring you your order!

Extended Owners Season! You can now use or let your holiday home in December, January & February too!

ome exciting news and a somewhat rare upside since the outbreak of Covid. All Local Authorities are encouraged to allow an extension of Holiday Parks Site Licences as a consequence of COVID 19 and the impact it has had on the UK Holiday sector. What does this mean for you? This means that we are able to permit you to use your holiday home beyond the normal established Licence period of 9 Months. So, whereas previously you would not be able to use or have the benefit of letting your holiday home in December, January & February we are now able to allow that…albeit this is just for now and doesn’t mean the same applies to December 2021.

This is great news for yourselves whether you use your holiday home yourself or choose to sublet, perhaps using our hassle-free sublet system. Is there an additional cost? This of course isn’t without some small cost as we will have greater associated costs so should you wish to extend then we require you to pay a small additional Site Fee of £100 per calendar month in addition to your normal pitch fee. I sublet can I have additional bookings during this time? Yes, it’s a fantastic opportunity and holidays around the Christmas & New Year breaks are very popular dates to let with us. Please contact us as soon as possible so that we can send out a sublet form for you to fill in with additional dates, enabling us to start marketing ASAP.

Dates for your diaries!

I am happy to use my 9 months as I already have, do I need to do anything? If you choose not to use or sublet your holiday home during these additional months, we advise you that you arrange for full Winterisation of your Holiday Home as you would normally. Letters will be sent out offering this service over the coming weeks. What’s open on park! * Aubrey’s Forest Kitchen We are open! However for your own safety, please ensure there are no more than 2 households at a table at any one time and a minimum of 1m social distancing is being adhered to at all times. At this time we can only offer table service; so sit back, relax and we’ll come to you! Walk-ins will be accepted however booking in advance is advised as we are operating at a limited capacity. Aubrey’s Delivery & Takeaway Service Takeaway and delivery options are available so you can enjoy a pizza and a beer from your holiday home. Call all us on 01425 651 215 and we will reserve your time slot - payment will be taken over the phone so please have your payment card ready. Indoor Swimming Pool Our lovely indoor swimming pool is open! Swim sessions must be booked prior on our Away Resorts App. All sessions will be 1-hour. You will have a 15-minute grace period to arrive for your session before it made available to other guests. We politely request that you arrive at the pool ‘swimready’ however changing room facilities will be available. Our toilets and showers within the facility will also be open. Social distancing must continue to be adhered to in and around the pool. Gym Our newly refurbished gym is open to holidaymakers and gym members only. Unfortunately we will not be opening this facility for day visitors or providing day passes at this time, to help us

limit capacity and abide by the government guidelines. Sessions are one-hour long and bookable on the app. We ask that you arrive ‘gymready’ as changing room access is limited. Social distancing must always continue to be adhered to. Woodside Inn We are open! However, for your own safety, please ensure there are no more than 2 households at a table at any one time and a minimum of 1m social distancing is being adhered to at all times. At this time we can only offer table service; so sit back, relax and we’ll come to you! If you have chosen to eat outside, please make your way to our external ordering point where we will be able to take your food and drink order. The Retreat Spa Our lovely Retreat Spa is now open! We will be operating by appointment only, these can be made via email, sandyballsbeautytherapy@ awayresorts.co.uk. Treatments currently available are all manicures and pedicures, lower body waxing (bikini, half leg and full leg) and our tanning services. Protective screens will be in place where required and our team will be in full PPE. Woodside Suite & Entertainment The Woodside Suite will be hosting entertainment with a difference, with live shows, streamed from another location, kids entertainment and music displayed on the big screen. Keep a lookout mid July for our surprise street theatre making an appearance round park, too!

Cycle Hire Centre Our Cycle Hire Centre is open, throughout this period we do ask you to pre book online. Then head to The Forest Hub where your bike(s) will be ready and waiting for you. All bikes are cleaned in between hire and our team will be wearing correct levels of PPE. Outdoor Cinema We have two showings a week currently running on our outdoor cinema screens, every Thursday and Sunday! Our entertainments team will be there to ensure social distancing is being adhered to so you can safely grab a seat and sit with your family. Weather dependant. Please note; we will not be providing blankets at this time to ensure your utmost safety, so please remember to bring your own.

Arcade Our Arcade is open for you and your family to enjoy. However, for your own safety, please use our sanitising stations available and ensure you are following Government advice around social distancing. Village Shop Our on-site shop remains open for you to be able to get hold of all your everyday essentials. ot tub Hhousekeeping If you have a hot tub, we want you and your family and friends to use and enjoy it safely. It is important to be aware of the potential risks that can arise. Hot tubs are a recognised source of diseases and there have been a number of recorded outbreaks of Legionnaires which have included fatalities linked to poorly designed and/or managed hot tubs. Legionnaires is usually caught by breathing in small droplets of contaminated water. This means that other park guests may be exposed to it even if they are not using your hot tub. We expect you to maintain your hot tubs to ensure the safety for all. The

Health & Safety Executive guidance document is available to be downloaded for free from hse.gov.uk/ legionnaires/spa-pools We also advise you to follow any other recommendations from the hot tub manufacturer and/ or the supplier. Please note that if you are subletting your holiday home, you will be deemed to be undertaking a commercial operation and your legal responsibilities with regards to the management of hot tubs will be more stringent. For more information on your responsibilities or if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Halloween at Sandy Balls We love Halloween at Away Resorts and hope you’ll all join us for some Spooktacular events! We’ll have something for everyone to enjoy with Ghoul School – where you can turn yourself into a Halloween character, Slime Workshop – for all you gooey slime lovers out there, and Petrifying Pottery Painting to name a few! We hope to see you visiting your holiday homes between Friday 16th October and Sunday 1st November to come and take part!

We are looking for creative budding artists to design our very own Owners Christmas Card this year, and the winners drawing will be sent out to all our lovely owners at Sandy Balls. The theme is ‘Christmas at Sandy Balls’
